Technical Business Development Manager
Full TimeOn-siteLead
dentalarchitectureprocurementinsurancesalesbusiness development+3

Before the detail, here's the challenge you'd help us solve. We build the embodied intelligence that moves real vehicles safely, and the ecosystem a billion machines will run on in the future. Very few people in AI can say this. Every role here, whatever the team, plugs into that. Here's what this particular role covers. Technical Business Development Manager (OEM / Tier-1 / Technology Partners) 🤝 About our Business Development Team As a Technical Business Development Manager at Wayve, you'll play a pivotal role in scaling strategic OEM partnerships across Europe. You'll own the front end of major RFQ/RFI and pre-nomination activity, shaping how we position our autonomy and automotive software capabilities with customers. You'll operate at the intersection of automotive technology and complex commercial partnerships, working closely with Product, Engineering and technical leads to translate technical capabilities into compelling customer outcomes. You'll have direct exposure to senior customer stakeholders and the opportunity to materially influence commercial momentum in one of Wayve's priority geographies. 🧠 Your day-to-day You'll lead early-stage OEM engagements across Europe, taking opportunities from initial conversations through RFQ/RFI, bid development and pre-nomination phases. You'll be equally comfortable running technical deep dives with engineering teams and aligning executives on strategy, risk and deal structure. Internally, you'll bring together Product, Engineering and Commercial stakeholders to align on positioning, feasibility and priorities. Externally, you'll translate those inputs into clear customer commitments, proposals and narratives that move opportunities from early discovery through PoC planning and toward nomination. 🧩 What you'll be working on: Leading Europe-focused early-stage OEM engagements and driving opportunity strategy from first touch through pre-nomination phases. Owning RFQ/RFI and bid responses end-to-end, including clarifying requirements, coordinating inputs, managing timelines and delivering high-quality submissions. Partnering with Product, Engineering and technical leads to develop customer narratives, proposals and supporting materials, including decks, business cases and GTM content. Presenting confidently to both working-level engineering teams and executive/C-level stakeholders, adapting technical and commercial messaging to the audience. Operating effectively within a matrix organisation, aligning internal stakeholders on positioning, feasibility and priorities to move opportunities forward. Translating product and engineering realities into clear customer commitments while supporting opportunities from early discovery through PoC planning and toward nomination. Acting as a force multiplier across teams by bringing together the right stakeholders, aligning priorities, building conviction around outcomes and accelerating execution against critical goals. 🙌 You should apply if: You have an automotive and/or automotive software background. You have a strong understanding of OEM processes and commercial motions, including RFQ/RFI, Tier 1/OEM dynamics, bidding and pre-nomination workflows. You can understand, translate and credibly present technical materials to both technical and non-technical audiences. You have demonstrated experience driving cross-functional execution in a matrix organisation, aligning Product, Engineering and Commercial stakeholders. You're comfortable operating at the intersection of deep automotive autonomy technology and complex commercial partnering. Experience working directly with European OEMs and navigating complex enterprise procurement and decision-making environments is a plus. Experience in an adjacent role such as solutions architecture, technical sales or consulting, combined with a willingness to operate hands-on at a detailed level, is a plus. Exposure to autonomy/ADAS, software-defined vehicles or related domains is helpful, but not required. You're highly adaptable and have the flexibility to travel and attend onsite meetings and events as business needs require. 🌱 Not ticking every box? That's totally okay! If you're passionate about autonomy and keen to learn, we encourage you to apply even if you don't meet every requirement. More about Wayve: 🚀 Wayve is building the leading AI platform for autonomous driving. We are pioneering an end to end AI approach that enables vehicles to learn directly from real world experience, developing the ability to adapt, generalise and improve at scale. Instead of relying on hand coded rules or pre mapped environments, our AI Driver learns to drive by understanding the world around it. The result is technology that navigates complex urban environments with intelligence, precision and natural flow, unlocking meaningful advances in both safety and efficiency. We believe autonomy represents a once in a generation transformation in how people and goods move, comparable to the shift from horses to cars, and from human driven vehicles to intelligent machines. Our ambition is to make autonomy universal. Wayve's mapless and hardware agnostic AI platform integrates with global OEM partners, enabling continuous software evolution and unlocking advanced levels of automation from L2 plus through to L4 as our core AI model scales. In a race increasingly defined by intelligence and real world learning, Wayve is taking a distinct approach, building a generalisable driving intelligence that can power any vehicle, anywhere. By combining embodied AI with scalable deployment, we are creating technology that can be shaped to each OEM brand and driver experience, accelerating the transition to a safer, more intelligent future of mobility. How we work 💻 – Locations & Flexible Working: Our main hubs are in London, Sunnyvale, Yokohama, Herzliya, Vancouver and Leonberg. We operate a hybrid working model that combines in-person collaboration in our dedicated office spaces with focused time working remotely. This gives our teams the connection and energy of working together, alongside the flexibility to do their best work in a way that fits their lives. This role requires flexibility to travel and attend onsite meetings and events as business needs require. 🔍 The Interview Process: Our process is clear and respectful of your time: Initial call / recruiter screen (30 mins) Competency interviews (Hiring Manager Interview) (45 mins) Deep-dive interviews (Presentation and Technical Interview) (1 hr, 45 mins) Final interview (30 mins) We'll always explain the format and work around your availability. What's in it for you: 💰 Salaries benchmarked against the market annually 📈 Meaningful equity, sharing in the ownership and long term success of Wayve ✈️ Relocation support and visa sponsorship where applicable ✅ Hybrid working, core hours and the chance to work hands on in vehicle workshops and labs 📚 Learning and development budgets with support for training, conferences and growth 🩺 Comprehensive benefits including health insurance, dental, enhanced maternity and paternity leave, retirement or pension where applicable, access to therapists, wellbeing partnerships, team socials and more A quick, honest note before you apply. Wayve is not a mature, fully-structured place with the playbook already written. Much of how we work is still being written, and if you join, you'll help write it. That suits people who want real ownership more than people who need a settled structure from day one. If that sounds like the kind of problem you want to spend your time on, we'd really like to hear from you. At Wayve we're committed to creating a diverse, fair and respectful culture that is inclusive of everyone based on their unique skills and perspectives, and regardless of sex, race, religion or belief, ethnic or national origin, disability, age, citizenship, marital, domestic or civil partnership status, sexual orientation, gender identity, veteran status, pregnancy or related condition (including breastfeeding) or any other basis as protected by applicable law. Legal AI Engineer (Zurich)
LegartisZurich, Germany22 days ago
Full TimeOn-siteMid
gogitconcreteprocurementcompliancecompliance+5

Description Legartis is on a mission: to unlock legal work at scale. We set the standard for AI-powered contract work by offering a platform that changes how legal teams work, from drafting through negotiation to completion. We are now looking for the person who turns what customers actually need into what our AI actually does. Joining Legartis is not taking a job, you take ownership. We are a team of product builders and lawyers, who do not chase hype; we build substance. If you are a lawyer who builds, someone who has stopped waiting for better tools and started making them, this is your moment and your place. Send us your CV, a short note on why Legartis, and links to anything you have built or published. Your mission Most companies split this seat across three teams, and that split is exactly the problem. The person who hears the customer describe their workflow should be the person who writes the requirement, and the person who writes the requirement should be able to build the first version themselves. That is you. 1. You translate customer reality into engineering requirements — and into revenue. You sit in customer and expert calls alongside Sales, not as a note-taker but as the person who understands the legal work. In trials and hackathons you coach hands-on: the customer drives, you navigate, and they create the first "wow" moment themselves. When they say "that won't work for us" or "we'll build it ourselves", you answer with a concrete path (a workaround, a workflow, the honest maintenance cost of the alternative) and you leave every conversation with a next step: trial licenses, a hackathon, a scoped rollout. Then you pull out the workflow: what actually happens, in what order, where it breaks, what the customer would pay to never do again. And you write the spec, edge cases, and acceptance criteria that Engineering can build against. 2. You build the skills yourself. You write, test, and ship agent skills and playbooks that solve real customer workflows. You build the evaluation frameworks and test sets that prove they got better rather than just different. When the AI fails on a clause, you diagnose why, at the prompt and context level, and you either fix it or hand Engineering a diagnosis precise enough to act on. 3. You make it repeatable, and therefore sellable. Anything you build once for one customer, you turn into something Sales and Customer Success can run without you. Standard demo environments. A skill library they can reach for. Onboarding that lands in days rather than months. Where Customer Success needs legal depth you step in, fix it, and turn the fix into something the team can handle alone next time. Your success is measured by how rarely you need to be in the room, and by what happens to adoption and expansion when you are not. 4. You are the legal authority in the building. Legal and compliance questions land with you: contract reviews, customer security and data protection questions, the occasional in-house matter which makes roughly ten to fifteen percent of your time. You use our own product to do it, and you tell us honestly when it is not good enough. Your profile The person we picture. There is a name emerging for what we are describing, and it is not "lawyer who is good with computers". It is legal quant : a lawyer who builds their own tooling to practise law, rather than waiting for a vendor to ship it. The distinction that matters to us: plenty of lawyers now use AI. A legal quant builds with it. They look at a workflow and ask how to redesign it from first principles to get the best possible outcome, rather than making the existing process incrementally faster. A note on how we are weighting this role. Three capabilities make someone exceptional here: commercial instinct, legal depth, and technical ability to build. The ideal candidate has all three. We know that person is rare, and we are not going to pretend otherwise by writing a wish list and hoping. So for this role we weight the technical evidence most heavily, because it is the hardest of the three to teach on the job. If you believe you genuinely combine all three, we want to talk to you regardless of how neatly your CV matches the bullets below. Say so in your note and tell us what you have built and what you have sold. 1. Technical track record. You have built things and they exist and ideally you have published some of it. You are fluent with LLMs the way a practitioner is fluent, not a spectator: you know how context windows fail you or why a prompt stopped working. When something breaks you go into the system rather than around it. Scripting, Git, and APIs are a strong plus. 2. Legal foundation. A law degree with a commercial-contracts focus: German-qualified (Bachelor, Master, or Staatsexamen) or an equivalent qualification from another jurisdiction. No bar admission required, no second Staatsexamen required. What we need: you have worked hands-on with German commercial contracts, drafting, reviewing, and negotiating them, and you can hold a conversation with a General Counsel as a peer. 3. Commercial and entrepreneurial track record. You have carried commercial responsibility for something of your own: a freelance client base, a legal tech product, or a company you started. You know what it takes to win a client from a standing start and why "they did not understand the value" is never the customer's fault. If instead you have supported enterprise sales teams in demos, pilots, and expert calls, tell us what you changed about the outcome. You prioritise by impact, you are comfortable deciding without permission, and you would rather ship something imperfect this week than something elegant next quarter. 4. Language. Excellent German and English. German is non-negotiable: our customers are DACH legal teams and the nuance lives in their language. You can run a room of legal buyers, ask the sharp question, and write a specification precise enough to build from. Other EU languages are a plus. Why us? Impact over hype. You define a new discipline at the intersection of law, product, and AI. Your work directly shapes how thousands of legal professionals will operate. No silos. You sit between Product, Engineering, and the customer, with a direct line to all three. The better argument wins, not the higher title. We invest in you. The enterprise motion (multi-stakeholder pilots, procurement cycles, security reviews) is teachable, and we teach it: side by side in real customer calls from week one. Real ownership. Competitive salary and employee stock options (ESOP). Build in public. We want you to keep publishing what you build, because it makes you better and it makes us visible. Offices in Berlin, Leipzig, and Zurich with a flexible hybrid setup. Regular apéros, lunches, and hiking trips as we enjoy the journey together. Process Expectations. A conversation with the People Manager about the role and who you are. Depth. A conversation with our General Counsel & Head of Legal AI on Legal Engineering at Legartis and where the legal market is going. Build session. A live case at the intersection of legal reasoning, prompting, and product work: a real customer scenario, a legal AI workflow, or a playbook that misbehaves. Meet the team in our Zurich office. A mutual decision, before we welcome you to the team. Find Jobs in Switzerland on Arbeitnow

🛠️ About our Engineering Teams Wayve's Robot Software teams build the onboard runtime that allows autonomy applications to execute reliably across our development fleet. The Runtime Platform area focuses on the foundations shared by vehicle applications: process lifecycle, communication, resource management, diagnostics, performance, and the developer tooling needed to operate complex software on embedded compute. As a Software Engineer, Runtime Platform, you'll help make Wayve's onboard software faster, more predictable, and easier to build, debug, and deploy. Your work will sit close to the operating system and application framework and will affect many teams across the autonomy stack. 🧠 Your day-to-day Design, implement, test, and maintain runtime-platform components in C++. Profile and debug CPU, memory, latency, scheduling, I/O, and inter-process communication issues. Build observability and diagnostics for software running on remote vehicle compute. Work with application teams to understand performance and reliability needs. Improve developer workflows for building, deploying, testing, and troubleshooting onboard services. Contribute to design reviews, documentation, testing strategy, and platform roadmaps . 🧩 What you'll be working on Application lifecycle and service management on embedded Linux or QNX systems. High-throughput, low-latency inter-process communication for robotics workloads. Resource management, scheduling, startup, shutdown, fault handling, and recovery. Profiling and performance optimisation across CPU, memory, storage, networking, and accelerators. Runtime metrics, logging, tracing, crash diagnostics, and fleet-level observability. Reusable platform APIs that support multiple vehicle and compute configurations. 🙌 You should apply if You have strong modern C++ experience and a solid foundation in systems programming. You understand Linux processes, threads, memory, scheduling, networking, and IPC. You can debug complex performance and reliability problems across multiple software layers. Experience with QNX, ROS2 or similar middleware, real-time systems, embedded compute, tracing/profiling tools, or high-throughput robotics data pipelines would be valuable. How we work 💻- Locations & Flexible Working: Our main hubs are in London, Sunnyvale, Yokohama, Herzliya, Vancouver and Leonberg. We operate a hybrid working model that combines in-person collaboration in our dedicated office spaces with focused time working remotely.
