Before the detail, here's the challenge you'd help us solve. We build the embodied intelligence that moves real vehicles safely, and the ecosystem a billion machines will run on in the future. Very few people in AI can say this. Every role here, whatever the team, plugs into that. Here's what this particular role covers. 🛠️ About our Engineering Teams The Data and Orchestration team in London builds the platforms behind Wayve's data engineering, orchestration and inference workflows. Our infrastructure lets partner teams ingest, process and transform high-volume data from external vendors, vehicle fleets and customer programmes, and we make sure those systems are reliable, efficient and easy to use. 🧠 Your day-to-day You'll help evolve Wayve's data pipeline platform. That means revamping our existing Harness system and building a new DAG-based orchestration system for our fleet's next-generation data volumes. You'll work on infrastructure used across the company, supporting high-priority data runs, batch inference, evaluations and business-critical incident response, and you'll work closely with partner teams to understand what they need from their pipelines. 🧩 What you'll be working on Designing, building and evolving scalable data pipeline and orchestration infrastructure for Wayve's next-generation autonomous driving data platform Revamping the existing Harness system and developing a new DAG-based workflow platform Building tooling and libraries that make data ingestion, processing, inference and evaluation workflows simple, reliable and consistent across teams Making sure the platform runs hundreds of parallel pipeline steps efficiently, with correct outputs, no conflicts and effective resource prioritisation Supporting batch inference and performance optimisation workflows, so teams can run evaluations in a cost-effective and scalable way Improving platform reliability, quality and usability, including incident response workflows aligned to business-defined SLOs 🙌 You should apply if You have strong software engineering fundamentals and experience designing, building and maintaining production-grade systems You have solid Python programming skills You have worked with systems at scale, ideally involving distributed systems, large data volumes or high-throughput processing You understand software engineering best practices, including unit testing, integration testing, test-driven development and data-driven development You are familiar with distributed event streaming platforms such as Apache Kafka You understand database principles and consistency models, including eventual consistency, strong consistency and distributed data systems You are familiar with traditional databases or data warehouses such as Postgres, ClickHouse or column-oriented databases You work well with platform users and partner teams, turning their requirements into scalable technical solutions Nice to have: Experience in data engineering, data platforms, workflow orchestration or pipeline infrastructure Experience with machine learning infrastructure, inference systems or ML performance optimisation Exposure to large-scale batch processing, compute scheduling or resource prioritisation Experience with tools or frameworks such as Ray, Flyte or Spark Experience building shared libraries, developer tooling or internal platforms used across multiple teams 🌱 Not ticking every box? That's totally okay! If you're passionate about autonomy and keen to learn, we encourage you to apply even if you don't meet every requirement. More about Wayve: 🚀 Wayve is building the leading AI platform for autonomous driving. We are pioneering an end to end AI approach that enables vehicles to learn directly from real world experience, developing the ability to adapt, generalise and improve at scale. Instead of relying on hand coded rules or pre mapped environments, our AI Driver learns to drive by understanding the world around it. The result is technology that navigates complex urban environments with intelligence, precision and natural flow, unlocking meaningful advances in both safety and efficiency. We believe autonomy represents a once in a generation transformation in how people and goods move, comparable to the shift from horses to cars, and from human driven vehicles to intelligent machines. Our ambition is to make autonomy universal. Wayve's mapless and hardware agnostic AI platform integrates with global OEM partners, enabling continuous software evolution and unlocking advanced levels of automation from L2 plus through to L4 as our core AI model scales. In a race increasingly defined by intelligence and real world learning, Wayve is taking a distinct approach, building a generalisable driving intelligence that can power any vehicle, anywhere. By combining embodied AI with scalable deployment, we are creating technology that can be shaped to each OEM brand and driver experience, accelerating the transition to a safer, more intelligent future of mobility. What's in it for you (Location dependant): 💰 Salaries benchmarked against the market annually 📈 Meaningful equity, sharing in the ownership and long term success of Wayve ✈️ Relocation support and visa sponsorship where applicable ✅ Hybrid working, core hours and the chance to work hands on in vehicle workshops and labs 📚 Learning and development budgets with support for training, conferences and growth 🩺 Comprehensive benefits including health insurance, dental, enhanced maternity and paternity leave, retirement or pension where applicable, access to therapists, wellbeing partnerships, team socials and more A quick, honest note before you apply. Wayve is not a mature, fully-structured place with the playbook already written. Much of how we work is still being written, and if you join, you'll help write it. That suits people who want real ownership more than people who need a settled structure from day one. If that sounds like the kind of problem you want to spend your time on, we'd really like to hear from you. At Wayve we're committed to creating a diverse, fair and respectful culture that is inclusive of everyone based on their unique skills and perspectives, and regardless of sex, race, religion or belief, ethnic or national origin, disability, age, citizenship, marital, domestic or civil partnership status, sexual orientation, gender identity, veteran status, pregnancy or related condition (including breastfeeding) or any other basis as protected by applicable law. Our Operating Principles Extreme Ownership We take full responsibility for our work, outcomes, and team success. No excuses, no blame-shifting — if something needs fixing, we own it and make it better. This means stepping up, even when it's not "your job." If a ball is dropped, we pick it up. If a customer is unhappy, we fix it. If a process is broken, we redesign it. We don't wait for someone else to solve it — we lead with accountability and expect the same from those around us. Craftsmanship Putting care and intention into every task, striving for excellence, and taking deep ownership of the quality and outcome of your work. Craftsmanship means never settling for "just fine." We sweat the details because details compound. Whether it's a product feature, an internal doc, or a sales call — we treat it as a reflection of our standards. We aim to deliver jaw-dropping customer experiences by being curious, meticulous, and proud of what we build — even when nobody's watching. We are "majos" Be friendly & have fun with your coworkers. Always be genuine & honest, but kind. "Majo" is our way of saying: be a good human. Be approachable, helpful, and warm. We're building something ambitious, and it's easier (and more fun) when we enjoy the ride together. We give feedback with kindness, challenge each other with respect, and celebrate wins together without ego. Urgency with Focus Create the highest impact in the shortest amount of time. Move fast, but in the right direction. We operate with speed because time is our most limited resource. But speed without focus is chaos. We prioritize ruthlessly, act decisively, and stay aligned. We aim for high leverage: the biggest results from the simplest, smartest actions. We're running a high-speed marathon — not a sprint with no strategy. Talent Density and Meritocracy Hire only people who can raise the average; 'exceptional performance is the passing grade.' Ability trumps seniority. We believe the best teams are built on talent density — every hire should raise the bar. We reward contribution, not titles or tenure. We give ownership to those who earn it, and we all hold each other to a high standard. A-players want to work with other A-players — that's how we win. First-Principles Thinking Strip a problem to physics-level facts, ignore industry dogma, rebuild the solution from scratch. We don't copy-paste solutions. We go back to basics, ask why things are the way they are, and rebuild from the ground up if needed. This mindset pushes us to innovate, challenge stale assumptions, and move faster than incumbents. It's how we build what others think is impossible. The personal data provided in your application and during the selection process will be processed by Happyrobot, Inc., acting as Data Controller. Senior Network Engineer
Pratt IndustriesConyers, United States26 days ago
Full TimeOn-siteMid
awsotmanufacturingarchitecture

About The Role We're looking for a Senior Network Engineer to be a hands-on, day-to-day owner of our network infrastructure — not a desk-bound architect and not a narrowly scoped project hire. You'll troubleshoot live production issues, lead network projects from design through cutover, travel to sites to support deployments and resolve issues that need boots on the ground, and share in an on-call rotation supporting a nationwide, always-on manufacturing network. This role also plays a significant part in our ongoing network modernization efforts. We need someone who's equally comfortable running toward a 2am outage at a plant, leading a multi-site rollout, and mentoring newer engineers on the team, as they are working alongside our outside consulting partners on the bigger architectural initiatives. What You'll Do Day-to-day operations Serve as a hands-on escalation point for Layer 2/3 issues across our Cisco Catalyst, Nexus, and Meraki environment Participate in an on-call rotation supporting a nationwide network running 24/7 manufacturing and business operations Travel to sites as needed to support new deployments, troubleshoot issues that require physical presence, and assist with cutovers — this is a genuinely hands-on role, not a remote/desk position Maintain and improve security hardening practices across the campus and branch switch hierarchy Project leadership Lead network projects end-to-end — scoping, design, implementation, and validation — across our branch, data center, and cloud environments Take ownership of specific initiatives within our broader modernization roadmap, including SD-WAN migration, SD-Access/identity-based segmentation, data center fabric modernization (EVPN-VXLAN leaf-spine), cloud connectivity (AWS Transit Gateway, DirectConnect), and remote access modernization (ZTNA/VPNaaS) Partner with our outside consulting engagement as an internal technical lead during assessment and implementation phases — including actively absorbing and documenting their design rationale and methodology — with full long-term operational ownership of what's built transferring to you and the team as that engagement concludes Team & cross-functional collaboration Mentor and support other engineers on the network team Work with observability tooling (ThousandEyes, NetFlow-based platforms, Zabbix/PagerDuty) to build and maintain visibility across the environment Collaborate with security, systems, and OT/plant teams on IT/OT segmentation and cross-domain issues What You'll Bring CCNP Enterprise certification required 10+ years of hands-on enterprise network engineering experience, ideally across multi-site/branch environments Experience with large-scale network modernization initiatives — SD-WAN transformation, identity-based segmentation rollouts, cloud connectivity projects, or data center upgrades Demonstrated experience leading network projects, not just executing tickets — you should be comfortable owning a design and seeing it through Willingness and ability to travel to sites as needed, and to participate in an on-call rotation Solid grounding in core routing/switching (OSPF, BGP, STP, VLANs) plus working knowledge of modern fabric- and identity-based architectures (SD-WAN, SD-Access/ISE, VXLAN/EVPN) Comfort working in a live production environment — this is an operational role first, with project work layered on top, not the reverse Strong documentation habits and clear communication, especially when coordinating across teams and with outside partners Strongly Preferred AWS networking experience (Transit Gateway, Direct Connect, VPC architecture) Nice to Have CCIE (Enterprise Infrastructure, Data Center, or Security) Experience with Cisco ISE policy design at scale AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate Familiarity with NetBox or similar infrastructure-as-source-of-truth tooling Experience in a manufacturing or industrial (OT/IT convergence) environment Exposure to ThousandEyes, LiveAction, or similar network observability platforms Prior on-call experience in a 24/7 operational environment
