Senior Full Stack Engineer (f/m/x)
Liveeo GmbhLiveEO GmbH Berlin Office (Hybrid), Germany (Hybrid)14 days ago
Full TimeHybridSenior
pythontypescriptawsrestarchitecture

Build the Market Leader in Satellite Analytics with us at LiveEO We are looking for a Senior Full Stack Engineer to help shape the next stage of SurfaceScout, one of LiveEO's core products. SurfaceScout turns satellite data into reliable, actionable insights for the operators of critical infrastructure. You'll take ownership of significant parts of the SurfaceScout application, from the user-facing experience to the services and data flows behind it, and help evolve it into an even more scalable and reliable product. This is a high-ownership role on an established, fast-growing product: part hands-on engineering, part systems design, part technical leadership within the squad. You'll work across the full product lifecycle, from shaping and building new features, to strengthening the architecture and engineering practices that support long-term growth, using a modern TypeScript and Python stack. Your challenge As a Senior Full Stack Engineer on the SurfaceScout squad, you'll take ownership of significant parts of a live, growing product, turning ideas into reliable production systems and strengthening the architecture that supports long-term growth. Core responsibilities include: Design and build features end to end (TypeScript & Python), translating product requirements into reliable, well-tested systems that ship to customers. Define and implement integrations with LiveEO's platform and data services, ensuring clean interfaces, reliable data flows, and extensibility for future development. Collaborate across teams to reuse and adapt shared components, aligning on architecture, APIs, and engineering standards across products. Own key architectural decisions (service boundaries, data models, deployment patterns), balancing speed of delivery with long-term maintainability and reliability. Iterate quickly on feedback from product, customers, and stakeholders, evolving features into robust, production-grade solutions. Raise the bar for the squad: mentor teammates, review code, and help shape technical direction as a senior voice on the team. Champion engineering best practices (code quality, documentation, testing, observability), keeping the codebase healthy as the product scales. Contribute across the stack, from backend services and APIs to frontend interfaces, delivering a cohesive and usable end-to-end experience. Your profile Strong engineering fundamentals in TypeScript and Python, with a focus on writing clean, maintainable, and well-structured code. Several years building and shipping full stack applications in production, including backend services, APIs, and modern frontend interfaces. Proven ability to own features end to end and deliver them reliably, translating product requirements into robust, production-grade solutions. Experience designing and implementing integrations between systems (APIs, data pipelines, third-party services). Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS) and deploying and operating scalable services. Solid understanding of software architecture and system design, with the ability to make pragmatic trade-offs. Experience working in collaborative, cross-functional environments and aligning with multiple stakeholders. Experience mentoring engineers or setting technical direction within a team. Your Benefits The opportunity to create a product that can improve business processes and lives across the globe. Flexible working hours and hybrid work model - we trust our employees to get their work done while maintaining a healthy work-life balance. We empower employees to drive their own career development, take initiative and have the freedom to be creative and bold. Not an overtime culture - we take care that overtime is done only as a necessity and always offset with time off and rest. A collaborative and learning environment - frequent internal workshops, knowledge sharing sessions, journal clubs and hackathons. Office located in the centre of Berlin Kreuzberg with free fruit, nuts and drinks. Potential to participate in the employee stock option program. Urban Sports membership and BVG subsidy, corporate pension program. A diverse and vibrant international environment of 30+ different nationalities. Find Jobs in Germany on Arbeitnow

Full Stack Engineer, Frontend-focused (Next.js + Django)
Full TimeOn-siteMid€5,000 - €5,000 / Year
pythontypescriptreactnext.jsdjangoci/cd+6

At DeWarmte, we make smart, affordable heat pumps that help homes move away from gas. We design the hardware, software and services ourselves, so the quality of our software directly shapes how well our products work in people's homes. We're growing fast, and the customer journey is growing with us. That's why we're looking for a frontend-focused Full Stack Developer to improve our web application - from the first visit and heat-pump advice to quotation, planning and installation. You'll spend most of your time in Next.js and React, making every interaction clear, fast and genuinely pleasant. You'll work primarily in our TypeScript frontend (Next.js Pages Router, React 18), with focused changes to our Django backend when a feature needs them. You'll take customer-facing work from idea to production and see directly what it does for conversion, customer satisfaction and the workload of our teams. AI tools are already part of how we build software. We use them where they help us move faster, but we do not lower the bar: anything we ship still needs to be secure, maintainable and correct. You'll help us get better at both. Why this role matters Make switching to a heat pump simple, clear and trustworthy—from first discovery to installation and beyond. You'll join the team behind a web application that our customers use every day. You'll get to know it deeply, keep it reliable and improve it as we grow. Just as important: you'll help make sure knowledge and ownership are shared across the team. What you'll do Build a great customer experience Build, test and deploy customer-facing features in Next.js and React, with supporting Django and API changes where needed. Turn customer needs and designs into clear, responsive and accessible interfaces. Build the flows that guide customers from first interest to advice, quote, order, planning and installation. Keep improving conversion, speed and usability based on data and customer feedback. Support customers after installation Improve the flows customers use after installation, from questions and service requests to documents and updates. Connect the web application with the workflows used by our sales, planning, installation and service teams. Remove manual work and friction for customers and colleagues alike. Strengthen the frontend platform Improve frontend architecture, reusable components, performance, accessibility and SEO. Improve automated frontend testing, CI/CD, monitoring and safe release practices. Work with the Backend Developer to shape clear APIs and interfaces between the web application, apps and external systems. Turn implicit knowledge into clear documentation and repeatable engineering practices. Review code and share knowledge by default. Build with AI Use AI tools to support design, coding, testing, reviews and documentation. Help the team improve its AI workflows, shared context and quality checks. Try new tools, keep what works and share what you learn. Hold AI-assisted code to the same standards as any other production code. Work across the company This role reaches beyond the software team. You'll work with marketing, sales, planning, installation, service and product development to solve today's customer and operational issues without compromising the platform for tomorrow. What success looks like In your first few months You understand the customer journey end to end, the frontend architecture and where it connects to our backend. You can independently ship frontend features and make focused Django or API changes when needed, using the team's review and release practices. You've identified the biggest usability issues and frontend technical risks in the journey, and helped prioritise them. As the role develops New frontend features ship predictably, safely and with good test coverage. More visitors become customers, and customers rarely need to contact us to know where they stand. You take responsibility for the frontend architecture and significant parts of the customer journey. The team uses AI tools confidently and responsibly in its day-to-day work. Critical parts of the frontend are understood and maintained by more than one person. Who we're looking for Solid hands-on experience building and shipping production web applications, with most of your depth on the frontend. Strong TypeScript and React skills, plus experience with Next.js; familiarity with the Pages Router is useful. Strong HTML and CSS fundamentals, with a good eye for responsive design, accessibility and interaction details. Experience building customer-facing flows such as onboarding, configurators, quotes, checkout or self-service portals. A track record of taking functionality from design through implementation, testing and deployment to real-world use. Comfortable working with REST APIs and making focused changes in Python/Django; deep backend specialisation is not required. A good understanding of web performance, SEO, automated testing, CI/CD and observability. You use AI coding tools in practice and understand both their value and their limits. A feel for user experience and a knack for making complex information simple. Experience with design systems, analytics or experimentation, e-commerce, CRM or planning integrations, or the energy or installation sector is useful, but not essential. What matters most is that you care about the customer experience and can take frontend work from idea to production. How you work You fix urgent problems without letting short-term workarounds become long-term architecture. You think from the customer's perspective and judge your work by what it does for them. You're comfortable moving between interaction details, frontend architecture and the API contract behind them. You're curious about new AI tools, try them quickly and share what works. You explain technical topics clearly to people from any background. You share knowledge by default and care about what the team can own together. What we offer A role with direct impact on the customer journey that helps homeowners move away from gas. A clear frontend focus, with enough Django scope to take features end to end. Room to improve how we use AI tools across the software team. A gross monthly salary of €5.000 – €7.000, based on full-time employment. 27 vacation days and 8% holiday allowance. The chance to share in DeWarmte's growth through our Stock Appreciation Rights (SAR) programme. An ambitious, collaborative team and real responsibility from day one. Daily lunch at the office. A laptop, access to the AI tools we use and everything else you need to do your best work. Regular team activities, including our annual Beach Day and Winter Trip. Plenty of room to grow, develop yourself and make a lasting impact. Interested? Want to build the customer journey that makes it easier for thousands of homes to move away from gas? At DeWarmte, we make smart, affordable heat pumps that help homes move away from gas. We design the hardware, software and services ourselves, so the quality of our software directly shapes how well our products work in people's homes. We're growing fast. More customers, more connected heat pumps and more products relying on our backend mean the platform needs to grow with us. That's why we're looking for a Backend Developer to build and improve the Django platform behind our web application, customer app and employee app. It connects these products with our heat pumps, data platform and external partners. You'll spend most of your time writing code: improving reliability and performance, building new functionality and helping the platform scale with our customer base and installed fleet. AI tools are already part of how we build software. We use them where they help us move faster, but we do not lower the bar: anything we ship still needs to be secure, maintainable and correct. You'll help us get better at both. Why this role matters Build the connected intelligence behind DeWarmte—linking our heat pumps, digital products, internal systems and smart-home partners to make every installation smarter, more efficient and easier to use. You'll join the team behind backend systems that already support customers and heat pumps in the field. You'll get to know them deeply, keep them reliable and evolve their architecture as DeWarmte grows. Just as important: you'll help make sure knowledge and operational ownership are shared across the team. What you'll do Develop and improve our Django backend Work directly in the production Python/Django code behind our web application, customer app and employee app. Design, build, test and deploy new APIs, services and business logic, covering everything from the customer journey and planning to heat pump control and service. Improve performance, stability, security and data integrity. Diagnose and fix issues that span our backend, data platform and devices in the field. Connect and scale the platform Make sure our backend, databases and background processing keep up with a fast-growing customer base and installed fleet. Connect our backend with our heat pumps, data platform, web application, mobile apps, internal tools and smart-home platforms such as Homey, Home Assistant and HomeWizard. Define clear, well-documented interfaces between device software, cloud services and the products that depend on them. Put the right automated testing, observability, monitoring and release practices in place. Build with AI Use AI tools to support design, coding, testing, reviews and documentation. Help the team improve its AI workflows, shared context and quality checks. Try new tools, keep what works and share what you learn. Hold AI-assisted code to the same standards as any other production code. Share ownership Turn implicit knowledge into clear documentation, tooling and repeatable engineering practices. Design systems that other engineers can easily understand, test and safely change. Take part in code reviews and technical decision-making. Help onboard and support fellow engineers. Work across the company This role reaches across the product. You'll work with colleagues in web, apps, hardware, controls, data, product development, installation and service to solve today's issues without compromising the platform for tomorrow. What success looks like In your first few months You understand the existing backend, its data flows and its operational risks. You can independently maintain, debug and release backend changes through the team's review and release practices. The most important technical risks and knowledge gaps are visible and prioritised. Monitoring, documentation and development practices are visibly improving. As the role develops New backend functionality ships predictably and safely. The platform scales smoothly as our fleet and customer base grow. Incidents are detected early and resolved in a structured way. The team uses AI tools confidently and responsibly in its day-to-day work. Critical backend systems are understood and maintained by more than one person. Who we're looking for Solid hands-on backend engineering experience, including ownership of production systems. Deep Python and Django expertise, including the Django ORM and REST APIs (e.g. Django REST Framework). Strong knowledge of relational databases (e.g. PostgreSQL): data modelling, query optimisation and migrations. Experience with background processing, queues or event streaming, and with integrating external systems. A track record of taking functionality from design through implementation, testing and deployment to real-world operation. Strong engineering fundamentals: version control, automated testing, CI/CD, observability and structured incident handling. You use AI coding tools in practice and understand both their value and their limits. The ability to bring clarity to an environment where systems and processes are still taking shape. Experience with IoT, connected devices, telemetry, time-series data such as Kafka or InfluxDB, or cloud infrastructure is useful, but not essential. What matters most is that you can learn a complex physical product and take responsibility from code to production. How you work You fix urgent problems without letting short-term workarounds become long-term architecture. You explain complex technical topics clearly to people from any background. You balance reliability today with the investments needed to scale tomorrow. You're curious about new AI tools, try them quickly and share what works. You're comfortable switching between debugging a production issue, reviewing architecture and helping a teammate. You share knowledge by default and care about what the team can own together. What we offer A role with direct impact on the backend systems at the heart of a real physical product and the energy transition. The chance to shape a fast-growing platform and how we build it. Senior Backend Engineer (f/m/d)
Full TimeOn-siteSenior
typescriptreactnestjsawsecss3+6

Our Opportunity Over the past three years, Predium has built the leading real estate intelligence platform for ESG and value management in the DACH region - with the strongest names in the industry as customers: asset managers, housing companies, banks. Our customer base, our data, our credibility - that's valuable capital for the next step. Investment, credit, and asset management decisions in real estate are still made in Excel, case by case. We're now building the AI analyst that takes this work off people's hands - working directly on the customer's own data, scalable without adding headcount. We're well-funded, and we're bringing AI into real estate. Your Mission As a Senior Backend Engineer, you own the systems behind our platform: the GraphQL API, the relational data model, the background processing that turns customer documents and spreadsheets into structured data, and the permission model that lets a single owner and a bank with hundreds of portfolios use the same product. Most of your work runs from schema design all the way to the resolver. You partner with product, design and other engineers to make sure we build what matters - not just what you have been told to do. You take real responsibility for production: when something is slow, you find out why, whether the answer is a bad query, application code or the infrastructure underneath. You also help us make AI reliable in production. Document extraction, long-running analysis jobs and agentic features are core to where the product is going, and we need people who make these workflows testable and dependable rather than impressive in a demo. Our company size of ~40 people ensures that the best idea wins and political discussions are kept aside. And every line of code helps to improve the carbon footprint of real estate properties. Tech stack: TypeScript (NestJS backend, React frontend), Hasura/GraphQL, PostgreSQL (multiple databases incl. PostGIS), queue-based job processing, AWS (ECS / Elastic Beanstalk, S3, SES, Textract), IaC, Claude but all agents welcome What you'll own Build features across our Hasura GraphQL API, NestJS and Postgres. From schema design to resolver. Model complex real estate and ESG domains in relational schemas. We run several Postgres databases side by side (one of them geospatial), and schema decisions here have consequences but also positive impact. Own background processing: Excel imports, document extraction, long-running analysis jobs, 3D and image processing. Queues, retries, jobs that spawn other jobs - and figuring out what to do when step 3 of 7 fails at 2am. Develop our permission model. Customers range from a single owner to enterprises with organization/portfolio/building-level access. Integrate LLMs into backend workflows - especially document and data extraction - and make them reliable, verifyable and testable. Debug production. Navigate Grafana dashboards and traces to find out why something is slow or failing, whether in the app, the CI/build pipeline or the infrastructure. Spot overgrown or overly complex parts of the codebase and simplify them without being asked. Paying down complexity is part of the job. What success looks like You have shipped features end-to-end across schema, API and background processing that our customers actively use. Our async processing (imports, extraction, analysis jobs) is measurably more robust: fewer silent failures, clear retry and recovery paths, and observability that tells us what broke and why. You have taken ownership of at least one core area e.g. the permission model, the job orchestration layer or the LLM extraction pipeline and are the person the team goes to for it. You have raised the bar on testing and developer experience in the backend, and other engineers ship faster because of you. You are a trusted sparring partner for product and the team when we decide what to build and how. What it takes You're strong with Postgres. Schema design comes naturally, you can read a query plan, and you know when the ORM is lying to you. Geospatial experience is a bonus, not a requirement. You're fluent in typed backend TypeScript. We work in NestJS and GraphQL every day; if your experience is in a comparable stack, that's fine, you'll pick it up fast. You've built real queue-based processing. You designed workers, dealt with retries and partial failures, orchestrated multi-step workflows. You've designed or worked with authorization for a multi-tenant product and know where it might get hairy. You'd rather have one integration test that hits a real database schema than ten unit tests mocking everything. You write the test that catches the broken migration. You treat production as a debuggable system. You can navigate dashboards and traces to figure out why something is slow, and you don't treat infrastructure as someone else's problem. You communicate clearly - with engineers, product and, when needed, directly with customers. You speak German at C1 level or better and English fluently. Our customers are German banks and asset managers, and you will talk to them. Bonus: AWS (S3, SES, ECS, RDS, …) and IaC. LLMs in production, especially document or data extraction and making it reliable for actual user workflows. Data pipeline work: staged, reproducible processing, dataset versioning. Mentoring or leading engineers, or wanting to grow into it. Debugging tooling and build issues, not just application code. Our toolchain moves fast and is occasionally non-standard. Why Predium? Stage: ~40 people, well-funded, on the way to defining the category. Early enough that a lot still needs to be built. Yes, it's messy sometimes - that's the whole point. If you're looking for a job with a finished playbook, this isn't the right fit. Impact: You're not cog #100 in some company. What you build here runs in production and is what customers rely on every day. Your contribution shows up directly, in revenue and in the product. Ownership: We don't manage your time, we measure your results. You get responsibility and freedom - and the expectation that you'll use both. Compensation: Competitive salary, bonus, and equity. We want you to share in the success you help create. Team: Office-first in Munich's Werksviertel, 4 days/week. 30 vacation days (including company vacation) · Wellpass · Deutschland-Ticket · Jobrad · team events Find more English Speaking Jobs in Germany on Arbeitnow
