They successfully delivered the feature on schedule, impressing customers with both the functionality and the speed of execution. The team was tasked with developing a solution to reveal Indirect Exposure through cross-chain swaps in response to a competitor's similar feature. Before choosing the technical approach, the team consulted with stakeholders to establish a feasible timeline for the implementation. With this input, the team devised a solution that fit the timeline, communicated the tradeoffs to stakeholders, and successfully delivered the solution as promised. Platform Engineering at Polar Platform engineering at Polar is about building and evolving the systems that power our product – keeping them fast, resilient and simple as we scale. We're rethinking how billing works for a world of usage-based software, programmable pricing and AI agents – from real-time metering and pricing as code, to more flexible customer identities, giving developers greater control over how they monetize their products. Polar sits in the critical path of global payments, billing and financial workflows. Reliability and correctness matter deeply, but so does our ability to move quickly. We're looking for engineers who enjoy working across infrastructure, backend systems and the application layer – from improving foundational systems and shipping new platform primitives to building the tooling and automation that enable the entire engineering team to move faster. We don't believe in building infrastructure for infrastructure's sake. We value a pragmatic mindset and sensibility in knowing when to introduce new abstractions and when the simplest solution is the right one. More about Polar and how we work What you could work on Depending on your experience and where you can have the greatest impact, this could include: Keep Polar reliable at scale: Designing and evolving systems that remain highly available, performant and resilient as traffic and complexity grow – identifying bottlenecks, improving critical paths and designing for graceful failure. Evolve our infrastructure: Improving our cloud architecture, infrastructure-as-code and environments – introducing complexity only where it earns its place. Make production safe and easy to operate: Improving observability, debugging, deployments and incident response so engineers can ship confidently, understand what's happening in production and recover quickly when things go wrong. Build leverage for engineering: Creating primitives, abstractions and automation that remove operational toil and help the broader engineering team move faster. Engineer for financial correctness: Translating financial and regulatory requirements into robust technical systems, with auditability, access control and data integrity built in from the outset. Product Engineering at Polar Product engineering at Polar is about shaping and building the finance layer for the next generation of AI products. We're rethinking how billing works for a world of usage-based software, programmable pricing and AI agents – from real-time metering and pricing as code, to more flexible customer identities, giving developers greater control over how they monetize their products. We're interested in engineers who enjoy working across our entire stack, solving complex technical challenges while shaping how developers interact with and experience Polar. We value engineers who think beyond implementation, challenge assumptions and bring the technical depth and product judgement to make sophisticated systems feel simple. We operate as a small, remote-first team with a strong bias towards shipping. We value engineers who can work independently, collaborate when it matters and maintain a high bar for quality without sacrificing speed. More about Polar and how we work What you could work on Depending on your experience and where you can have the greatest impact, this could include: Own product development end-to-end: Identifying opportunities, shipping and iterating on features across our stack – taking responsibility for both the technical implementation and the product outcome. Build exceptional developer experiences: Bringing a strong eye for design, usability and detail to everything you ship. Turning complex billing and monetization workflows into intuitive interfaces, powerful APIs and thoughtful abstractions that make our merchants' lives easier. Ship with speed and quality: Delivering improvements continuously, balancing fast iterations with robust engineering, performance and attention to detail. Stay close to our users: Engaging with our merchants, to understand how they use Polar, uncover pain points and translate feedback into meaningful product improvements. What we look for We're particularly interested in senior engineers who combine strong technical foundations with exceptional product judgement and design sensibility. People who care deeply about developer experience, have opinions about what makes great software and know that building the right thing often means knowing what not to build. Some of the qualities and experience we value in this area include: Strong technical foundations: Experience building, shipping and evolving production software, with deep expertise in at least one part of the stack and the ability to work confidently across frontend and backend systems. You've built and maintained products long enough to understand how early technical and product decisions hold up as they evolve and scale. Product judgement & design sensibility: A deep appreciation for how products look, feel and work. An understanding that developer experience is the product, from the clarity of an API to the smallest details of an interface. Strong opinions, loosely held, and the judgement to challenge assumptions, simplify complexity and know what to leave out. Ownership & pragmatic execution: The ability to take problems end-to-end with high ownership and autonomy, navigate ambiguity, make decisions without perfect information and take responsibility for outcomes. A bias towards shipping and knowing when to iterate quickly and when to invest in stronger foundations. Engineering craft: A commitment to the quality of what gets built – from clean APIs and robust backend logic to thoughtful interactions, edge-case handling and performance. High standards for both technical quality and the experience delivered. Curiosity & collaboration: A willingness to wear multiple hats, collaborate openly and contribute to a small team. Curiosity to learn new technologies and use tools, including AI-assisted development, while maintaining intimacy with the code, sound engineering judgement and ownership of what gets shipped. Experience with payments, billing or developer tools is a strong plus. We also love seeing open-source contributions and side projects. Our stack Frontend: Typescript (React, Effect) Backend: Python (FastAPI, Dramatiq) Infrastructure: Postgres, Clickhouse, AWS.

Your Mission Your mission is to work hands-on with the parts of the aircraft that turn stored energy into flight: the motors, the batteries, and the propulsion and power components that decide how far, how fast, and how long our platforms fly. You support the hardware team from bench characterisation through data analysis in MATLAB and Python. Responsibilities Support characterisation and bench testing of motors, propellers, batteries, and power components for our UAS platforms. Help set up test rigs and instrumentation, and capture clean, repeatable measurement data. Assist with component selection and trade-offs by turning test data into clear comparisons. Reduce and analyse test data in MATLAB and Python — efficiency, thrust, endurance, thermal and discharge behaviour. Visualise results so the engineering team can make decisions from them quickly. Keep test setups, measurements, and findings documented and traceable. Required Skills Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's in Electrical, Mechanical, Aerospace, or a comparable engineering field. Working knowledge of MATLAB and Python for data analysis. Interest in and some exposure to UAS, electric propulsion (motors / ESCs), or battery / power systems. Must be a citizen of a NATO member state (due to export control and security regulations). Practical, hands-on mindset — comfortable at the bench and with a multimeter as much as in a script. Good written and verbal communication skills in English; German is a plus. Hands-on: You like building, measuring, and finding out what really happens. Rigorous: You trust clean measurements over assumptions. Curious: You want to understand why a component behaves the way it does. Nice-To-Have Experience with test benches, DAQ, or measurement instrumentation. Familiarity with battery testing, thermal behaviour, or motor/propeller characterisation. Personal projects with drones, RC aircraft, batteries, or robotics. Equal Opportunity: At Stark Defence, we are committed to building a diverse, inclusive, and high-performing team. We operate in an industry where women, as well as other minority groups, are systematically under-represented. We actively encourage applications from candidates of all backgrounds and identities. If you are excited about this role, we encourage you to apply even if you don't meet all the listed qualifications—ability and impact cannot be summarised in a few bullet points. We value unique perspectives, adaptability, and a drive to solve high-stakes challenges. Security Clearance: Due to the nature of our work in the defence sector, candidates must be eligible to obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance required for this position. Details will be provided during the recruitment process. Find more English Speaking Jobs in Germany on Arbeitnow
