Gravis Robotics is a high-growth Series A start-up backed by SoftBank, bringing Physical AI to the construction industry, turning heavy construction machines into autonomous robots. Gravis began as an ETH Zurich spin-out, and our unique combination of learning-based automation and augmented remote control lets one operator safely conduct a fleet of earthmoving machines in a gamified environment. Backed by deep robotics research and now deployed across multiple countries with leading construction and equipment partners, our team is rapidly growing to bring this technology to a trillion-dollar industry. The Gravis RACK is a machine-agnostic retrofit kit that adds autonomy to excavators and wheel loaders from 10 to 100+ tonnes: LiDAR and camera sensing, GNSS RTK, networking hardware and rugged edge compute that works offline. Paired with the Slate tablet and our Copilot software, it lets an operator run a machine manually, with AI assistance, or fully autonomously. Increasingly, we also build custom hardware to adapt our machines for highly specialized, robust applications beyond traditional excavation. About the role At Gravis, we build high tech systems that give machine operators super human capabilities. To adapt in real time to changes in the environment the Gravis Rack fuses data from LiDAR, cameras, GNSS, and hydraulics into an autonomous control system. All of it runs on Linux, on compute hardware we design ourselves, bolted to the roof of a machine that vibrates, overheats, and regularly loses network coverage. As a senior engineer focused on the embedded platform, you will own the software layer closest to that hardware: bootloader, kernel, device tree, root filesystem, and the update mechanism that keeps the fleet current. You will work at the intersection of our Hardware, Firmware, Autonomy, and Perception teams to bring up new boards alongside the engineers who designed them, then hand the software organization a platform they can build on without thinking about it. When something fails on site and nobody can yet say whether it's a driver or a solder joint, you are the person who finds out. What you'll do Own the embedded Linux platform from end to end: bootloader, kernel, device tree and rootfs. Bring up new hardware alongside electrical engineers. Take our boards from first power-up to a boot you'd trust on a customer site. Write and maintain the kernel drivers that connect the Rack's sensors to the autonomy stack Be the low level link between hardware and software teams; the person who can tell a driver bug from a hardware fault. Drive our OTA update and recovery strategy for machines around the world Implement security hardening: secure boot, disk encryption, container isolation, vulnerability patching. What we're looking for We recognize that excellent candidates come from diverse backgrounds with varied combinations of skills. If you meet most of the core qualifications below, we encourage you to apply. Degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering, CS, or related field. Deep knowledge of Linux kernel internals: device drivers, device tree, interrupt handling, memory management, scheduling. Experience with custom hardware bring-up: pin muxing, clock configuration, regulator control, PCIe, USB, I2C, SPI, UART, CSI, Ethernet. Strong understanding of circuit diagrams and digital electronics. Self-driven, able to take full ownership in a fast-moving startup. Good English (written and spoken) is a must. Bonus Qualifications Yocto, Buildroot, nixOS or bootc experience for custom embedded distributions. Experience with NVIDIA Jetson platforms (Thor, Orin, Xavier, Nano or equivalent) and JetPack/L4T ecosystem. Power, thermal, or performance optimization on resource-constrained SoCs. Familiar with CI/CD, Git, and automated build/deployment processes. Know how to use debugging tools like JTAG, oscilloscopes, and logic analyzers. Experience with the design, implementation and documentation of safety critical firmware This is an opportunity to join a dynamic, multidisciplinary team and to be part of a company that is reshaping heavy construction. Gravis is an equal opportunity employer. We are committed to building an inclusive and diverse team, and do not discriminate based on race, colour, ancestry, national origin, religion, sex, sexual orientation, age, gender identity, gender expression, disability, veteran status, or other legally protected characteristics. SAEKI - Manufacturing at software speed Europe's defense industrial base cannot respond at the speed modern conflict requires. Legacy suppliers operate on month-long timelines. Tribal knowledge is retiring. Supply chains are fragile. SAEKI is building the operating system for autonomous factories - the infrastructure that lets Europe manufacture mission-critical components at software speed. The Role As a Junior Computational Geometry Engineer, you work on the geometry core of our Manufacturing Intelligence stack: the engine that takes an arbitrary customer CAD model, reasons about how to build it, and then proves that we built it right. You start on well-scoped parts of that engine, next to the engineers who built it, and grow into owning them. Your code runs in the factory. What We're Looking For Foundations . Degree in computer science, mathematics, mechanical engineering or a related field, with real depth in geometry, linear algebra and numerics. Internships, thesis work or serious side projects count. We do not expect years of production experience. B-rep Basics . You are comfortable with topology, NURBS, meshes and point clouds. You may never have shipped a robust boolean, and you still understand why floating-point robustness destroys naive implementations, and you want to learn how the field handles it. Kernel Exposure . You have worked with a geometry kernel and mesh libraries in at least one project: OpenCASCADE, CGAL, libigl, Open3D, PCL, Parasolid or comparable. Technical Ability . Solid modern C++ (17+) plus Python for tooling and rapid iteration. Rust is welcome. You write code others can read, test and maintain. Manufacturing Curiosity . You want to understand what happens once geometry meets a spindle, a nozzle or a fixture. CNC, additive or metrology exposure is a bonus, never a requirement. First Principles Thinker . You reason by physics and mathematics, not analogy. When an algorithm fails on a real part, you dig until you know whether the bug sits in the code, the model or the assumption. Learning Speed . You take direct feedback, apply it immediately, and close your own knowledge gaps without waiting to be taught. Industrial Grit . You want to stand next to the machine in Germany and watch your output run. The feedback loop between your code and cutting metal is the point. On - site .
