About Unity Advisory Unity Advisory is a pure-play, experience-led CFO advisory firm providing integrated finance, commercial, tax and deals support. We are free from audit conflicts and AI-enabled by design, combining deep technical expertise with automation, analytics and AI built into the delivery of every engagement. We are building an alternative to traditional advisory firms, focused on clarity over complexity, outcomes over hours, and practical advice delivered at pace for CFOs making high-consequence decisions. The Role We are looking for an experienced Data Architect to own data design across our advisory engagements. This is a platform and design-authority role with a hands-on edge, combining finance-focused business understanding with modern data architecture, platforms and governance. You will define how data - across a client's business - is structured, governed, and served so that AI, analytics, and management reporting are reliable and scalable. As a Senior Manager, you will lead architecture decisions, guide engineers, shape client data strategy, architecture, governance, and be accountable for the coherence and quality of the data estate you design. This is a client-facing role within our AI Advisory team, setting the data architecture that our engagements — and our clients' AI ambitions — are built on. Key Responsibilities Define target-state data architectures for clients — models, storage, pipelines, and access patterns — balancing rigour with delivery realism. Establish data modelling standards and curated domain layers across the a variety of systems (e.g. ERP, CRM, Manufacturing) and data sources, with end-to-end lineage and provenance sufficient for audit and controls. Map and integrate finance source systems (ERP, EPM, sub-ledgers, and consolidation tools) into governed, analytics-ready models. Design the finance data foundations for applied AI/ML: governed retrieval sources for RAG, feature stores, and the architecture that keeps AI systems fed with trustworthy, reconciled finance data. Set patterns for secure, compliant finance data platforms — access control, data sensitivity, segregation of duties, isolation, and alignment to standards such as ISO 27001. Provide architectural direction for cloud data platforms, infrastructure as code, CI/CD, and observability, ensuring designs are cost-aware and operable. Define the data lineage and controls that support responsible production AI — monitoring, confidence scoring, and human-in-the-loop review. Translate ambiguous business and client problems into clear architectural decisions and scoped roadmaps under delivery pressure. Own key technical trade-offs and communicate them clearly to engineers, product stakeholders, and senior client sponsors. Mentor data engineers, raise the technical bar across the team, and contribute reusable patterns, reference architectures, and accelerators. What We're Looking For Essential Significant experience designing and delivering data architectures for production systems, with evidence that your designs have shipped and run - not remained on paper. Deep expertise in data modelling, warehouse/lakehouse design, and data governance. Hands-on background in SQL and Python, and fluency with at least one major cloud provider (AWS or Azure) and modern data platforms (e.g. Snowflake, Databricks). System-level judgement on how data architecture shapes AI outcomes: designing governed sources for RAG, structuring data for retrieval and orchestration, and deciding where structured outputs and tool use fit. Ability to set standards and lead engineers while remaining close to implementation. Strong stakeholder skills, including engaging senior client sponsors and explaining architectural trade-offs clearly. Strong Preference Experience architecting the data layer behind AI or analytics products in production. Informed views on the trade-offs between fine-tuning, RAG, and long-context approaches, and how each changes data architecture requirements, including context window economics and prompt caching. Familiarity with infrastructure as code, CI/CD, and observability for data platforms. Awareness of MCP and tool-orchestration concepts and their implications for composable, data-driven AI systems. Fluent use of AI-assisted development tools (e.g. Claude Code, Cursor), with a clear view of where they help and where human design judgement must lead. Security and compliance experience (e.g. ISO 27001 alignment, access control design). Consulting or advisory background, owning problems end-to-end rather than a single workstream. Nice to Have Evidence of self-directed building — side projects, internal tools, or startups. Exposure to finance data, PE/M&A, or portfolio-company environments. Relevant certifications (e.g. AWS/Azure architect-level credentials). Additional Information At Unity Advisory, we are committed to providing an inclusive and accessible recruitment process. In line with the Equality Act 2010, we will accommodate any suitable candidate requiring assistance to attend or conduct an interview. If you need any adjustments or support, please let us know when scheduling your interview or in your application cover letter. We are dedicated to ensuring everyone has an equal opportunity to succeed and are here to support you throughout the process. PLEASE NOTE: We do not accept unsolicited CVs from third-party agencies. About Volta Volta is the category-defining, fully vertically integrated AI infrastructure platform – from capital to clusters to software, under a founder-led enterprise. Our mission is The Utility of Compute™: AI infrastructure as dependable and available as electricity, for every organization that needs it. Launched with a $10B strategic partnership with one of the leading frontier AI labs, a Series A led by Andreessen Horowitz, and a $5B AI Infrastructure Fund, Volta is building the infrastructure layer of the AI era from the ground up. We are 100+ people across London, Palo Alto, and New York, with rapid growth expectations to hundreds. About The Role Volta builds and operates large scale GPU compute infrastructure for AI workloads. Our platform is Kubernetes-native, spans multiple regions, and delivers virtual machines, storage, and networking through a fully automated infrastructure stack. Platform Engineering is organized as capability teams, each owning a defined part of the stack: compute, storage, the control plane and API layer, confidential computing, networking, and the customer-facing surface. You will lead one of them. This is a hands-on leadership role. You set technical direction for your team's area, carry accountability for what it delivers, and manage the people doing the work. You are expected to stay close enough to the code to take on the hard problems yourself. What You Will Be Doing Lead a platform engineering team: technical direction, design reviews, code review, and day-to-day delivery. Set the technical direction for your team's area of the stack, and design and build the platform layers it owns as product requirements take shape. Represent platform engineering in roadmap planning: translate product requirements into scoped, sequenced technical work, communicate trade-offs, and keep delivery on track. Work closely with the bring-up teams to surface operational pain points and turn them into scalable platform features. Collaborate with the security engineering team to integrate security guidance at the platform layer and ensure findings are remediated effectively. Coordinate with the other platform engineering leads on shared architecture, joint initiatives, and cross-team and cross-timezone delivery. Own reliability, observability, security, and interface and versioning standards for the services your team ships. What You Bring 5+ years in cloud platform or infrastructure engineering, with at least 2 years leading an engineering team. Strong backend or systems programming background in a production environment. Our working languages are Python, Go, and Rust; we welcome strong engineers from other compiled or object-oriented languages (for example C++, C#, or Java) who are ready to work across our stack as it evolves. Kubernetes at depth: cluster operations, CNI networking, scheduling, and workload management in production. GPU infrastructure experience: provisioning, resource allocation, and surfacing capacity through a platform or API layer. Solid networking fundamentals: L2/L3, VLANs, overlay networks, and multi-tenant isolation in cloud environments. Service architecture skills: designing, operating, and versioning production-grade control-plane services and APIs across IaaS and above, holding the team to clean, industry-standard interface and breaking-change practices. Security awareness: trust boundaries, least privilege, and secure defaults when building platform services. Proven people management: running 1:1s, delivering performance feedback, and taking accountability for a team's delivery and wellbeing. Clear communicator who can translate technical complexity for product and leadership stakeholders. Nice to Have (But Not Essential) None of these are required. Several map to specific teams, so strength in one or more helps us match you to the right one: Fluency with AI-assisted development, and interest in scaling agent-assisted workflows across the team (agentic CLI tools, MCP, skills, APIs) to amplify delivery. Familiarity with confidential computing technologies: TEEs, AMD SEV, Intel TDX, or Confidential Containers (CoCo). Experience building SaaS or PaaS layers on top of an IaaS platform. Familiarity with RDMA, InfiniBand, or RoCE networking in GPU or HPC clusters. Experience working distributed across time zones with counterparts in other regions. Exposure to serverless or inference serving infrastructure. REQ-14 What We Offer At Volta, we believe people do their best work when they feel supported, trusted and able to grow. About Waniwani Waniwani builds the infrastructure that distributes insurance and banking products through AI assistants. We raised an $8M seed led by Seedcamp and work with large European banks and insurers. Each enterprise deal has to be scoped, architected, and deployed into a regulated environment. This role owns the layer between a signed deal and a live deployment. The role Customer workshops, discovery, and requirements (35%). Run technical discovery and workshops with each client, and translate their needs into clear, buildable product requirements for our sales, ops, and engineering teams. Flag what we need to build to support a given setup, such as client self-hosting. Solution architecture and documentation (35%). Design the end-to-end MCP flow and integration architecture for each client, including hosted versus on-premise scenarios, and produce the technical documentation enterprise clients require (BPI France alone is roughly 50 docs). Procurement, security, and delivery oversight (30%). Use our existing compliance library (SOC 2 program, DPAs, prior questionnaire answers) to complete security questionnaires, handle security committees and data-residency questions, and drive procurement to completion. Oversee the MCP deployment itself, which our freelancer network implements. Across all three, you build the reusable kit that makes this repeatable: scoping templates, architecture patterns, and a procurement answer library. Objectives 90 days: own scoping and procurement response for active deals, with the reusable kit used on at least one live deal end to end. 6 months: run the full signed-to-live pipeline, including architecture decisions and procurement ownership, without founders in the critical path. 12 months: a repeatable delivery process with patterns reused across clients, and a case for the first hire under this role. Requirements You are technically credible: you read code, reason fluently about integrations and the MCP and agent stack, and can scope and oversee a deployment. This is not a hands-on production-coding role; implementation is handled by our freelancer network. You are comfortable leading technical conversations with enterprise clients. You can drive a security questionnaire or procurement process to completion from existing documentation. You have worked in or near regulated industries (finance, insurance) and understand compliance and data residency requirements. You work well in ambiguity across sales, ops, and engineering, and ramp into new domains quickly. You have an interest in the MCP and agent stack. You are open to traveling from time to time across Europe and the US to meet clients. What this role is not A backend engineering role. You will work with clients most of the week. A pure pre-sales role. You own architecture, requirements, and delivery oversight, not only the pitch. A slideware role. You need real technical depth, even though you are not writing production code day to day. Practicalities Remote-first, based in Europe. Expect travel roughly once a month, primarily Paris, London, and Madrid, with US travel around the 6-month mark. Being able to come to Paris occasionally is a plus but not required. First hire in this function, working directly with the founders and the engineering team. Process Intro call with our talent partner. 30-minute conversation with Max, our CTO. Work sample based on a real client scenario (live session): scope the flow, draft the architecture, and handle a mock procurement Q&A. Discussions with Robin, our CEO, Luiza, and members of the tech team. Reference checks. Find Jobs in Switzerland on Arbeitnow

Find more English Speaking Jobs in Germany on Arbeitnow
Welcome to Planet. We believe in using space to help life on Earth. Planet designs, builds, and operates the largest constellation of imaging satellites in history. This constellation delivers an unprecedented dataset of empirical information via a revolutionary cloud-based platform to authoritative figures in commercial, environmental, and humanitarian sectors. We are both a space company and data company all rolled into one. Customers and users across the globe use Planet's data to develop new technologies, drive revenue, power research, and solve our world's toughest obstacles. As we control every component of hardware design, manufacturing, data processing, and software engineering, our office is a truly inspiring mix of experts from a variety of domains. We have a people-centric approach toward culture and community and we strive to iterate in a way that puts our team members first and prepares our company for growth. Join Planet and be a part of our mission to change the way people see the world. Planet is a global company with employees working remotely world wide and joining us from offices in San Francisco, Washington DC, Germany, Austria, Slovenia, and The Netherlands. About the Role: A Senior Infrastructure Solutions Engineer makes Planet's infrastructure easier to use. Infra Solutions is a small, multi-disciplinary team: engineers who are as comfortable operating a system as building one, and as comfortable in a hard conversation as in a code review. We sit between the teams who build Planet's platform capabilities and the teams who need them, and our market is every engineering team at Planet, which we earn one engagement at a time. Teams work with us because we make their week lighter, not because anyone told them to, and every team that lands on the platform is infrastructure Planet no longer has to duplicate, secure and pay for. Most of what you do takes the shape of a hands-on engagement with a team that is blocked, mid-migration, or arriving on the platform for the first time. They usually arrive with a proposed solution rather than the problem behind it, and working out the difference is where the engagement starts. From there you own it end to end: the diagnosis, the hands-on fix, the argument for what should change upstream, and the durable artifact that stops the next team hitting the same wall. This is a role driven by unreasonable hospitality (value out of proportion to what anyone asked us for) and backed by solid engineering and operator depth. You have run things in production, and you write the code other engineers depend on. The ideal candidate is energized by other teams' success: someone who would rather ship the thing that makes ten teams faster than own a system outright, and who does their best work in a room they don't own, with people who are not yet convinced they need help. This is a full-time, remote position based in Germany, the Netherlands or Slovenia. If located near a Planet office, you are expected to work from that office 3 days per week. Impact You'll Own: Lead end-to-end technical engagements: Partner directly with engineering teams to diagnose, unblock, and resolve complex infrastructure challenges. Execute critical migrations: Develop reference implementations, tooling, and guidance to transition teams off deprecated systems seamlessly. Accelerate platform adoption: Act as the primary technical contact for new teams onboarding to Planet's core infrastructure. Establish standardized paths: Consolidate disparate solutions into well-supported, paved-road infrastructure offerings. Build scalable, shared artifacts: Design re-usable libraries, Terraform modules, and Helm charts to solve recurring technical patterns across teams. Enhance platform observability: Implement instrumentation and attribution tooling to provide visibility into infrastructure cost, usage, and adoption. Inform platform strategy: Synthesize engineering feedback and common pain points to influence the broader infrastructure roadmap. What You Bring: 6+ years of professional experience in Platform Engineering, DevOps, or Site Reliability Engineering, including experience leading at least one cross-team project or migration. Bachelor's degree in a relevant field. Background in technical enablement, developer experience, or solutions architecture with a focus on internal developer productivity. Hands-on experience operating and maintaining production infrastructure environments. Deep expertise with Kubernetes orchestration, including workload optimization and operations. Working knowledge of Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or other public cloud providers, including its compute, storage, quota, and capacity mode. Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Helm, ArgoCD) and CI/CD pipelines. Proficiency in software development using Go or Python. Ability to translate ambiguous requirements into structured, actionable engineering tasks. Excellent written and verbal communication skills for technical documentation and cross-functional collaboration. What Makes You Stand Out: Experience with large-scale block storage (Persistent Disk, Hyperdisk, Ceph, SAN, or equivalent) operated at fleet scale rather than per-service. Experience driving large-scale migrations or deprecations that required buy-in from teams outside your reporting line. Experience in a consulting-adjacent engineering role (solutions architecture, professional services, or technical account engineering) applied to an internal platform. Familiarity with workflow orchestration (e.g. Temporal), batch and job-execution systems, or large-scale data processing pipelines. Experience defining and measuring platform adoption: developer-productivity instrumentation, NPS, or internal marketshare. Application Deadline: 11:45p / 23:45 CET on the date stated below. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis. This posting may be removed earlier than projected if a suitable pool of applications has been received. Our Mission At Omnea, we're reinventing how enterprise businesses operate, starting with the most painful parts: procurement – where a single purchase can drag on for months, trigger 50+ emails , and pull in Finance, Legal, Security, and IT just to get something approved. We've raised $75M from Khosla Ventures, Insight Partners, and Accel to change that. Our AI-native platform connects every person, step, and system so buying is fast, safe, and efficient – one place to request, automated approvals and renewals, real-time supplier risk, and complete spend visibility. The opportunity is massive. Every enterprise on the planet has this problem and nobody has solved it . We've 10x'd ARR to double-digit millions in 18 months and are trusted by global enterprises like Spotify, MongoDB, Monzo, and Albertsons. We're now the 4th fastest growing startup in Europe & the Sunday Times' #1 Best Medium Sized Tech Company To Work for. Our team previously scaled Tessian ( cybersecurity tech, backed by Sequoia, Balderton, Accel , acquired post-Series C), and our team includes ex-founders operators who've grown unicorns, shipped world-class products, and executed at the highest levels. You'll work alongside leaders like Ben , Abs , Sabrina , and Rebe . Find out more about the team and life at Omnea here . What we're looking for We're looking for an ambitious and talented Director of Engineering to join Omnea, the UK's #1 Startup in 2026 , as a senior member of our Engineering leadership team. You'll report directly to our CTO, Dhruv Kumar , who joined us from Voy and has scaled engineering organizations at Hopin, Charlotte Tilbury, and THG. This is a manager-of-managers role. You'll lead a group of Engineering Managers and Team Leads: 25-50 engineers across several teams. You'll own the outcomes, org design, and technical direction of a significant slice of the product. As we grow from tens to hundreds of enterprise customers and through 10x revenue growth in the next 2-3 years, you'll play a crucial role in building the best Engineering function in its category. You'll operate with high autonomy, partnering with the CTO, Product leadership, and your peers across R&D to turn strategy into shipped software. What you'll do Build and lead the leaders: Hire, coach, and develop Engineering Managers and Team Leads. Your primary output is their effectiveness, not your own. Set and hold a high performance bar across the group, including the harder calls on performance and leveling. Own org design for your area: how teams are shaped, sized, and split as the product and company grow. Build the bench: identify and grow the next generation of engineering leaders at Omnea. Own the headcount plan for your group, from business case through to hiring. Own delivery at group scale: Be accountable for the outcomes of several teams at once, not the output of any one of them. Create the operating rhythm (planning, prioritization, and reporting) that keeps a multi-team group moving quickly and predictably. Unblock at the seams: the cross-team dependencies, ambiguous ownership, and architectural decisions that no single team can resolve. Ensure robust monitoring, observability, and incident response across your area. Shape technical and product strategy: Partner with the CTO and Product leadership to define and execute the technical roadmap for your domain. Make the build/buy, architecture, and technical investment calls that shape the platform for years, and bring the rest of R&D with you. Balance technical debt, feature development, and reliability, and be able to defend those trade-offs to the exec team. Ensure customer feedback drives technical priorities, including direct time with enterprise customers. Teams and products you might end up working on: Accounting and Goods Receipting – ensuring procurement and finance teams have the right information and tools to operate accurately, automatically, and at scale. Insights and Reporting – deep, complex custom visualizations bringing together AI and data to surface meaningful insights and context across the platform. Sourcing – building the tools that find the right suppliers, shape the right deals, and make sure the best option is already in play before a request is even created. Workflow Orchestration – the configurable backbone of our systems that accurately model company operations, underpinning a single source of truth. And many more areas we're actively starting or expanding upon! About You Leadership Experience: You have 10+ years of software engineering experience, with 5+ years in engineering leadership. You have 2+ years managing managers, having hired, coached, and where necessary, performance-managed Engineering Managers or Team Leads. You've led a group of 25-50 engineers across multiple teams and owned the org design for it. You've demonstrated success in fast-moving, ambiguous environments, particularly in rapid-growth periods. Ideally, you've done this at more than one company, including at least one successful Series A+ B2B SaaS company. Technical Excellence: Strong technical background with hands-on experience in modern web technologies. Deep understanding of distributed systems, cloud architecture (preferably AWS), and scalability challenges. Experience with our stack (TypeScript, React, AWS Serverless) is a plus, but not required. Track Record of Impact: Strong track record of delivering complex, multi-team programs that moved company outcomes: product adoption, revenue, and customer retention. Proven history of improving team velocity and quality at the group level, not just within a single team. Experience scaling an engineering organization through a period of rapid growth and adapting the structure as it grew. Experience implementing engineering processes that scale effectively at pace. Experience working directly with enterprise customers and translating their needs into technical solutions. Leadership Style: You're data-driven but know when to trust intuition. You're comfortable making decisions with incomplete information, and owning them when they don't land. You excel at influence without authority, across Product, Design, GTM, and the exec team. You have a track record of growing and developing engineering leaders, as well as engineers at all levels (Senior, Staff, Principal). You stay close enough to the technology to be credible with senior engineers without taking the work off them. Nice to haves that really stand out to us: Track record of successful product launches in B2B SaaS. Experience with procurement/finance systems. History of contributions to engineering communities. You can learn more about Engineering at Omnea and our hiring process via our R&D Candidate Hub here . At Omnea, we embrace diversity. To build a product that's loved by everyone, we're best served by a team with all sorts of backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives. We encourage you to apply even if your experience doesn't quite match the full job spec! And regardless of your race, religion, colour, gender, or anything else! If you think you could be a good fit for Omnea, please reach out. A few things to note: We offer competitive geo-localised benefits, and you can check out our UK Benefits Package here and our US Benefits Package here . We work Tuesdays, Wednesdays & Thursdays in-person at our offices. At this early stage of our company life-cycle it's important to us that we get this together-time, and you can read more about why we believe this is a winning move here We're commercial, ambitious and we don't pretend otherwise! We're actively seeking folks looking to make the most of a career-defining opportunity, with the hunger to be part of building something really impressive . You can see our values here and our Omnea Future Founder's fund here ! We sometimes use AI note-takers to help us transcribe interview notes, so we can be more present in your interview. If you'd like to opt out of us using automatic transcribers, please note this in the free text field in your application, otherwise we'll take your application as confirmation that you're happy for us to use notetakers (whether added to video calls or in the background). We are proud to be recognised for both our culture and product, and we are just getting started. Join us as we grow!
