Hims & Hers is the leading health and wellness platform, on a mission to help the world feel great through the power of better health. We are redefining healthcare by putting the customer first and delivering access to care that is affordable, accessible, and personal, from diagnosis to treatment to delivery. No two people are the same, so we provide access to personalized care designed for results. By normalizing health & wellness challenges and innovating on their solutions, we're making better health outcomes easier to achieve. Hims & Hers is a public company, traded on the NYSE under the ticker symbol "HIMS." To learn more about the brand and offerings, you can visit hims.com/about and hims.com/how-it-works . For information on the company's outstanding benefits, culture, and its talent-first flexible/remote work approach, see below and visit www.hims.com/careers-professionals . About the Role: How do we make advanced AI/ML not just powerful but trustworthy enough to run in a regulated healthcare environment? We're looking for a Senior Staff engineer who can own that question end to end: the data pipelines that feed our models and evaluations, and the evaluation infrastructure — judges, scorers, statistical regression gates, red-team testing — that decides whether AI models are effective and safe to ship to patients. This is a leadership role for someone who works comfortably across disciplines. You'll set technical direction for how we build, version, and trust the data and judgments that our AI products are evaluated against. Your scope will expand from raw data ingestion and feature/dataset pipelines, through evaluation methodology and statistical rigor, to the reporting surfaces that let clinical and product teams act on what we learn. You'll spend most of your time on problems that don't have an existing playbook: ambiguous, cross-team, and genuinely hard to reason about. The job is to bring clarity to that ambiguity, chart a path the rest of the team and organization can follow, and see it through from idea to production, building the relationships and buy-in along the way to make it stick. You Will: Own the evaluation as a whole, not just a slice of it Set the technical direction for our evaluation systems; metric, judge and scorer design, the statistical methodology behind regression decisions, and the infrastructure that tracks and categorizes failures over time. Design and scale the data pipelines — ingestion, transformation, dataset versioning, labeling and calibration workflows — that both evaluation and downstream data science work depend on. Proactively address challenges in scaling and complexity AI evaluation. Lead projects that span teams and quarters Define how we evaluate any new AI service from scratch. Drive multi-team initiatives like replacing manual, inconsistent review processes with statistically sound, automated gates. Own our approach to adversarial and red-team evaluation as a risk-reduction program, designing the test suites and failure taxonomies that catch safety and edge-case issues before they reach patients. Work through complex, cross-team technical disagreements and drive alignment across engineering, product and AI leaders. Turn hard, ambiguous problems into solutions other teams can build on Originate new approaches and methodology that becomes a reusable standard rather than a one-off fix. Take vague, cross-team pain points ("we do this manually and it's inconsistent") all the way from a rough idea to a fully-specified, shipped system, without needing to hand off any part of the journey. Lead major platform improvements; re-architecting core systems, removing brittle logic, modernizing how things run with impact that's felt org-wide, not just on your own team. Grow the people and the network around you Build real working relationships across ML engineering, data science, platform engineering, clinical, legal, and product, the kind of trust that gets you looped in early, before decisions are locked in. Become a go-to voice on evaluation methodology and data pipeline design: share what you've learned in internal talks, write things up so other teams can use them, and expect your ideas to shape how others approach similar problems. Mentor other engineers, including experienced ones, and help raise the technical and statistical bar of the teams you work with. You Have: 10+ years of experience in ML infrastructure, data engineering, or evaluation/testing systems, with a track record of impact that reaches beyond a single team or project. Hands-on depth in evaluation systems: designing and calibrating LLM judges/scorers, building statistically sound regression-testing methodology (e.g., paired significance testing with proper correction for multiple comparisons), measuring agreement against human labels, and designing adversarial/red-team evaluation approaches. Hands-on depth in data pipeline engineering: dataset versioning, feature and benchmark pipelines, labeling and calibration workflows, and high-throughput ingestion and transformation systems. A history of building things that became the standard approach for others — not just solving your own problem, but changing how a broader group of people tackle a category of problem. Experience leading multi-team projects to completion, including navigating and resolving genuine technical disagreement along the way. A track record of mentoring other engineers, including senior ones, and visibly raising the bar for the teams around you. Excellent communication — comfortable adapting the same idea for different audiences, and confident building support for it well before launch. Strong Python, and enough statistical fluency to design and defend a testing framework that real production decisions ride on. Nice to Have: Experience with Databricks, MLflow, Unity Catalog, or similar data/eval platforms. Experience building reporting tools for people without direct engineering access (e.g., automated Slack digests, spreadsheet reports for non-technical teams). Prior experience in a regulated industry (healthcare, fintech, life sciences). A track record of company-wide talks or write-ups that changed how other teams approached a problem. Our Benefits (there are more but here are some highlights): Competitive salary & equity compensation for full-time roles Unlimited PTO, company holidays, and quarterly mental health days Comprehensive health benefits including medical, dental & vision, and parental leave Employee Stock Purchase Program (ESPP) 401k benefits with employer matching contribution Offsite team retreats We are committed to building a workforce that reflects diverse perspectives and prioritizes ethics, wellness, and a strong sense of belonging. We don't expect you to carry IC load like a senior engineer, but we do expect you to be in the editor regularly, pair when it helps the team, and prototype your way through ambiguity. If you've been fully out of the code for years and want to stay there, this probably isn't the right fit. The managers who thrive here earn trust on both the people side and the technical side. You'll report directly to our VP of Engineering and carry out our product vision while building a scalable engineering culture that breeds innovation. You'll make sure we ship excellent user experiences on time without compromising on security, design, or performance. You'll cultivate a team of high performers by removing roadblocks, building processes that incentivize excellence, and bringing real expertise in fintech and financial systems. Autonomy & Focus – Our engineers enjoy flexibility with minimal meetings and uninterrupted time to dive deep into problem-solving. AI Operations Lead
KarbonUSA (Fully Remote)25 days ago
Full TimeFully RemoteDirector$180,000 - $190,000 / Year
pythontypescriptsqlresttriagedental+4

About Karbon Karbon is the global leader in AI-powered practice management software for accounting firms. We provide an award-winning cloud platform that helps tens of thousands of accounting professionals work more efficiently and collaboratively every day. With customers in 40 countries, we have grown into a globally distributed team across the US, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, the United Kingdom, and the Philippines. We are well-funded, ranked #1 on G2, growing rapidly, and have a people-first culture that is recognized with Great Place To Work® certification and on Fortune magazine's Best Small Workplaces™ List. Karbon is further ahead on AI adoption than most companies our size. Every department is running AI daily. Hundreds of skills and workflows have been built by our own team. Fourteen department champions drive adoption and share knowledge across the business. The foundation is real and it works. The next phase is scale. We need one person whose entire job is extending what we have built, measuring what it returns, and adding the next layer of capability. Not a strategy deck. A working system, the governance that makes it trustworthy, and the numbers that prove it. You will report into the CEO and work across every department. You will have the access and sponsorship to make changes stick. About the Role Build the Tooling Ship internal automations and agents that remove repeated manual work across Sales, CS, Implementation, Support, and Operations. Connect AI to the systems we already run, through APIs and MCP servers. The first build is the data gateway. Karbon runs its own MCP server. You extend it into a routing proxy that sits between Claude and every internal data source teams need. Authentication via Okta. RBAC enforcement by department. Request logging for spend attribution and audit. Once the gateway is approved by Security, new connectors plug into a config entry instead of triggering a full review each time. That is your first thirty days. After that: CS gets a renewal risk signal. Sales gets a proposal draft automation. Implementation gets a SOW generator with scope-creep flags. Support gets a ticket triage router. Prototype fast. Harden what people use. Delete what they ignore. Hand every tool to an owner in the team that uses it. You build it. They run it. Own Governance and Visibility Manage the Claude access and provisioning workflow — seat requests, model and tool access, connector approvals — and the Slack workflows that support it. Run the connector security review pipeline in partnership with Security. Own the spend dashboard across all AI tools, not just Claude. Cursor, Codex, Linear AI, and anything else the org is running sit alongside Claude in one view. Department leaders see their own number weekly without asking you to pull it. Bad trends surface before they become invoice surprises. Extend that visibility into an ROI framework: adoption rate, hours saved, cost per seat, project-level impact. Partner with Finance on budget accountability. Run the AI champions program. Fourteen department champions, organized into pods, own peer enablement and skill submissions within their teams. You run the cadences, maintain the hub pages, and hold champions accountable for engagement. When people leave Karbon, their projects and skills do not leave with them. You own the offboarding flow that captures and reassigns that work. Build and maintain the AI wiki — per-department documentation of tools, active use cases, and skills in use. Keep it current as tools evolve. Train Teams and Set the Standard Work with each department lead to agree how their team uses AI, then hold that standard. Run practical training. Short, specific, and repeatable. Teach people the efficient way to get the same answer. Most cost problems are habit problems. After month one, you know what each team's workflows look like because you built them. That makes you a better trainer than anyone who has not. Build and maintain a shared library of prompts, skills, and patterns so knowledge stays when a person leaves. Own the pipeline that moves skills from intake through review to the shared library — and automate the parts of it that should not require a human. Measure and Report the Return Define the small set of metrics that show whether AI is working: cost, adoption, delivery, and quality. Build the data pipelines behind those metrics. Expect the source data to be messy. Publish a regular report to the executive team. Same format every time. Bad news included. Delete any metric that has not changed a decision in a quarter. About You! You shipped production software in the last two years, as the person writing the code. Python or TypeScript, SQL, and REST APIs. You built something real on top of a large language model. Not a demo. Something with users, error handling, and a cost you had to control. You worked directly with non-technical teams as the technical person in the room. Forward deployed engineer, solutions engineer, GTM engineer, internal tools engineer, or similar. You know what a CS renewal motion looks like and what implementation scoping feels like. You do not need to have worked in those roles. You need to have built something those teams actually used. You can build a number out of messy data and defend it to a CFO. You have run a cross-functional program where the participants did not report to you — a champion network, an ambassador program, an adoption initiative. You know how to create accountability without authority. You write clearly, and you can say no to work that will not pay off. Bonus Points: Accounting, professional services, or B2B software market experience. Familiarity with MCP server development, Claude API, or agent frameworks. Experience with Okta or similar identity providers. What Success Looks Like! By month six: Three automations run in production, each owned by the team that uses it. Every department leader can see their own AI usage and cost, including spend outside Claude. The spend dashboard is live and trusted. Your first report to the executive team is argued with, not just acknowledged. The gateway has Security sign-off and every new connector goes through it. By month twelve: Cost per unit of work delivered is moving in the right direction, and everyone agrees on how it is calculated. Three departments extend and run their own tools without you. New starters learn our way of working with AI as part of onboarding. Champion pods are submitting and reviewing skills without you in the loop. The AI wiki is maintained by department owners, not by you. Why Work at Karbon? Manager, Credit Risk
Jobber
JobberCanada (Fully Remote)25 days ago
Full TimeFully RemoteDirector$121,000 - $121,000 / Year
pythongosqlmachine learningdata scienceforecasting+8

Please note: Our Talent team at Jobber will be offline for Jobber Impact - our flagship event of the year, bringing Jobberinos together to connect, learn, and celebrate what we're building - starting October 6th and extending until October 9th. We'll be back to go through applications and reach out with an update on your candidacy once we return next week! This will be updated automatically on all job posts above our What you can expect from Jobber headline. The automated email to candidates will have the same message as above. Do you think differently about risk? Are you excited by the idea of building credit risk management from the ground up, AI-native, rather than bolting AI onto an old playbook? Then Jobber might be the place for you. We're looking for a Manager, Credit Risk to join our Fintech department. Jobber exists to help people in small businesses be successful. We work with small home service businesses, like your local plumbers, painters, and landscapers, to transform the way service is delivered through technology. With Jobber they can quote, schedule, invoice, and collect payments from their customers while providing an easy and professional customer experience. Running a small business today isn't like it used to be—the way we consume and deliver service is changing rapidly, technology is evolving, and customers expect more. That's why we put the power and flexibility in their hands to run their businesses how, where, and when they want! Our culture of transparency, inclusivity, collaboration, and innovation has been recognized by Great Place to Work, Canada's Most Admired Corporate Cultures, and more. Jobber has also been named on the Globe and Mail's Canada's Top Growing Companies list, and Deloitte Canada's Technology Fast 50™, Enterprise Fast 15, and Technology Fast 500™ lists. With an Executive team that has over thirty years of industry experience of leading the way, we've come a long way from our first customer in 2011—but we've just scratched the surface of what we want to accomplish for our customers . The Team: Fintech is one of the fastest-growing parts of Jobber, and a core strategic priority for us as a company. We're investing in this area because we believe embedding financial tools within our product deepens our ability to help small businesses be successful—whether that's helping them get paid through Jobber Payments, or, in the near future, offering them access to capital through a growing lending business. Our Risk team is a critical part of the broader Fintech team, and core to Jobber's success. Credit Risk is responsible for the frameworks, models, and operational discipline that let us extend payments and lending products responsibly, protecting both our customers and Jobber from undue credit exposure. The Role: The Manager, Credit Risk will lead and grow a team of Credit Risk Analysts, owning the day-to-day operations of the credit risk function while helping build it into something more ambitious: an AI-native credit risk practice, built for Jobber Payments today and ready to scale into a growing lending business. This is a role for a builder, not a doer—someone who looks at a manual process or an ad hoc decision and asks how it should be automated, modeled, or systematized, rather than simply executed by hand. You'll work closely with Data Science and Risk Analytics to design and strengthen credit risk models, policies, and monitoring, and you'll partner cross-functionally across Fintech, Product, and Customer Support to make sure credit risk decisions are embedded seamlessly into the products our customers use every day. The Manager, Credit Risk will: Lead, coach, and grow a team of Credit Risk Analysts, setting the standard for how the team investigates, decisions, and communicates credit risk. Own credit risk operations end-to-end: underwriting and exposure decisions, portfolio monitoring, loss forecasting, and reporting on credit risk performance and trends. Partner closely with Data Science and Risk Analytics to build, validate, and improve credit risk models and decisioning logic, including scorecards, statistical models, and machine learning approaches where they add value. Champion an AI-native approach to credit risk management—using AI and automation to build novel solutions to novel problems, not just to speed up existing workflows. Build and strengthen the credit risk function for Jobber's payments business today, and lay the groundwork for credit risk management of a growing lending business. Work cross-functionally with Fintech, Product, and Customer Support teams to embed credit risk policy and controls into product and operational workflows. Develop a credit risk provisioning process and reserving practices building from IFRS9 or equivalent GAAP standards, partnering with Finance and Accounting as needed. Identify opportunities to automate manual credit risk processes and drive them from idea through to implementation. Report on credit risk exposure, portfolio health, and emerging trends to Fintech and Risk leadership. Support broader Fintech and Risk initiatives on credit-risk-relevant topics, including vendor evaluations and new product launches. To be successful, you should have: Demonstrated experience in credit risk, in financial services, fintech, payments, or lending, including people leadership or mentorship of an analyst team. A builder's mindset: a track record of solving problems through automation and tooling, not just process, and genuine enthusiasm for using AI to build new approaches to credit risk rather than only applying existing ones. A deeply data-centric approach to decision-making, with comfort working directly in the data rather than relying solely on others to produce it for you. Proficiency in SQL and Python (or a similar language), enough to independently pull, analyze, and interrogate data and to collaborate credibly with Data Science and Analytics. Working familiarity with statistical and machine learning approaches used in credit risk management (e.g., logistic regression, decision trees, gradient boosting)—you don't need to be a data scientist, but you should understand what these approaches do, how they work at a conceptual level, and when it's appropriate to apply them. Familiarity with IFRS9 or equivalent GAAP standards (e.g., CECL) for credit loss provisioning, or a strong ability to learn and apply this quickly. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate technical or quantitative findings into decisions that product, operations, and leadership stakeholders can act on. A genuine passion for fintech, and curiosity about how payments and lending products should manage risk differently than legacy financial institutions. The ability to embrace ambiguity and change—we don't know what we don't know, so you should be comfortable coming in and improving the process rather than waiting for one to be handed to you. The ability to work autonomously with strong time management skills. We are a mix of fully remote and hybrid distributed across the country. While you'll be part of a team, you'll need to be a self-starter who can find direction and guidance proactively. It would be really great (but not a deal-breaker) if you had: Familiarity with credit scorecards, including scorecard development, calibration, or monitoring. Experience building or overseeing credit risk models or policies for a lending product (installment loans, lines of credit, merchant cash advances, or similar). Experience with modern payments or lending infrastructure (e.g., Stripe, Adyen, Plaid, or similar). Experience working with or evaluating AI/ML tooling or vendors for risk decisioning. Familiarity with Slack, Salesforce, Asana, Confluence, or other collaboration tools. For extended remote roles: We believe great collaboration is intentional, and that means coming together in person to build, brainstorm, and connect from time to time. This role is open to candidates anywhere in Canada. Employees who live in one of our hub cities—Edmonton, Toronto, Vancouver, or Kitchener-Waterloo—will participate in their department's in-office schedule, while employees outside our hub cities will work remotely. Compensation: At Jobber, we believe that compensation should be transparent, fair, and reflective of your experience and growth. This role has a minimum annual salary of $121,000, a midpoint of $142,200, and a maximum salary of $163,600, designed to show the progression from learning the ropes to truly excelling. We design our compensation to reflect each new hire's skills, experience against the complexity of the role, ensuring a fair and competitive salary. Our range is intentionally broad to support growth and long-term impact, with fully established hires typically starting around the midpoint. The higher end of the range is reserved for those who have demonstrated deep expertise and lasting contributions, while offers below the midpoint reflect strong potential with room to develop. This approach ensures that compensation aligns with both an individual's current capabilities and their opportunity for future growth. Base salary is just one part of a total compensation package that will include equity rewards, annual stipends for health and wellness, retirement savings matching, and an extended health package with fully paid premiums for body and mind. Your professional growth matters to us too! You'll have access to a dedicated talent development program that includes career coaching and opportunities for career development. We believe in transparency and open conversations about compensation. If you have any questions about our approach, we're happy to discuss them throughout the hiring process! What you can expect from Jobber: A total compensation package that includes an extended health benefits package with fully paid premiums for both body and mind, matching in RRSP, TFSA or FHSA, and stock options. A dedicated Talent Development team and access to coaching, learning, and leadership programs to help you grow your career, reach your goals, and unlock your full potential. A unique opportunity to build, grow, and leave your impact on a $400-billion industry that has no dominant player...yet. To work with a group of people who are humble, supportive, and give a sh*t about our customers. We believe that diverse teams perform better and that fostering an inclusive work environment is a key part of growing a successful team. We welcome people of diverse backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives. We are an equal opportunity employer, and we are committed to working with applicants requesting accommodation at any stage of the hiring process. A bit more about us: Job by job, we're transforming the way service is delivered. Your lawn care provider, home cleaning service, plumber or painter could use Jobber to better connect with their customers, save time in the office, invoice faster, and get paid! We're bringing tens of thousands of people together with technology to deliver billions of dollars a year in services to happy customers. Jobber exists to help make these small businesses successful, and when they're successful we all win!

About the Team An instrumental part of GOAT Group , the Marketing team oversees a wide range of activities, which aim to build awareness, consideration and loyalty for our brands. As a member of this team, you will work to execute thoughtful, data-driven marketing campaigns that drive meaningful growth for the company. Role Overview GOAT Group is seeking a Sr. Performance Marketing Specialist to run our paid social and video acquisition strategy. You will own and operate Meta, TikTok, and YouTube Ads. You will also develop the creative testing roadmap and leverage incrementality to measure performance. This role reports to the AVP of Growth. We expect AI fluency in practice. As targeting, bidding, and placement have moved inside the platforms' models, creative has become the main lever you control. Leveraging AI tools for strategic research and automating operations will be key to success. Much of our process is being automated through internal AI workflows, so this role will have more emphasis on workflow oversight. In this role, you will: Run day-to-day paid social and video across Meta, TikTok, and YouTube: campaign build, budget pacing, audience and placement setup, and optimization against incrementality KPIs. Plan and execute the creative testing roadmap — write briefs, launch tests, experiment readouts. Leverage AI tools (Claude, Gemini, internal workflows) for strategic research and operations. You'll partner closely with the AVP of Growth to continually develop and improve AI workflows. Build and maintain the weekly and monthly creative performance marketing reports. Partner with Brand and Creative on asset needs, turning performance reads into specific, useful creative direction. Run structured tests — holdouts, geo splits, incrementality reads — supporting the AVP of Growth, and interpret the results honestly against platform-reported numbers. Flag new formats, placements, and platform features worth testing, and make the case for trying them. How Success Is Measured Incrementality. To truly understand the performance of our efforts, we rely on incrementality methods, such as geolift. We then leverage platform metrics as multipliers based on the measurement outcomes for daily operational KPIs. Creative performance. Leverage platform metrics to build creative narratives to explain how they performed and what we should do next. Operational reliability. Campaigns should launch accurately and on time. With AI automated more operations, this person must be have final oversight before campaigns launch. We are looking for: 3+ years of hands-on performance marketing experience with Meta Ads, TikTok Ads, and/or YouTube Ads. Experience with incrementality and/or MMM to measure true lift or causal performance. Comfort working in performance data — pivot tables, dashboards, and enough rigor to catch a number that looks wrong before it reaches a deck. AI fluency in practice. You use LLMs and AI tooling in your daily workflow for briefs, copy variants, creative iteration, and reporting, and you can tell us specifically what it changed about your output and what you had to watch for. Strong written and verbal communication. You can explain a result, including a disappointing one, to people who do not live in the ad platforms. Preferred Qualifications: Experience in a marketplace, resale, ecommerce, or DTC business. Familiarity with creative automation tooling such as Motion, Pencil, Smartly, or AdCreative. SQL, or experience pulling your own data from a warehouse such as Snowflake or BigQuery. Exposure to affiliate networks, creator-commerce platforms, or TikTok Shop. 1Password is growing. We've surpassed $400M in ARR and we're continuing to accelerate, earning a spot on the Forbes Cloud 100 for four years in a row and teaming up with iconic partners like Oracle Red Bull Racing. About 1Password At 1Password, we're building the foundation for a safe, productive digital future. Our mission is to unleash employee productivity without compromising security by ensuring every identity is authentic, every application sign-in is secure, and every device is trusted. We innovated the market-leading enterprise password manager and pioneered Unified Access Management, a new cybersecurity category built for the way people and AI agents work today. As one of the most loved brands in cybersecurity, we take a human-centric approach in everything from product strategy to user experience. Over 180,000 businesses, from Fortune 100 leaders to the world's most innovative AI companies, trust 1Password to help their teams securely adopt the SaaS and AI tools they need to do their best work. If you're excited about the opportunity to contribute to the digital safety of millions, to work alongside a team of curious, driven individuals, and to solve hard problems in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, then we want to hear from you. Come join us and help shape a safer, simpler digital future. We are hiring a Principal Engineer to help define the technical direction for core product experiences at 1Password. This is a senior individual contributor role for an engineer who can translate ambitious product strategy into systems that scale technically and operationally. You will drive architecture, engineering standards, and technical direction across the product ecosystem, working across client applications, distributed services, data platforms, and shared infrastructure to build experiences that are secure, reliable, performant, and maintainable. This is not a role scoped to a single team or subsystem. The expectation is organization-level technical leadership: shaping how Product Engineering approaches complex cross-cutting problems, guiding long-term architectural investments, and establishing the technical patterns and operational standards other teams build against. You will operate across the full lifecycle of product engineering work, from architecture and system design through production operations and long-term evolution. Success in this role requires balancing product velocity with engineering durability, making pragmatic technical tradeoffs, and driving alignment across teams with different priorities and constraints. You will help evolve the next generation of 1Password's product architecture, including the responsible integration of AI capabilities into core product experiences. Security and privacy by default, cross-platform consistency, operational resilience, and enterprise-scale reliability are foundational requirements that must be reflected in every architectural decision. If you want to build systems used daily by millions of individuals and hundreds of thousands of businesses, and solve engineering problems where distributed systems, reliability, usability, security, and intelligent automation all matter simultaneously, this is that role. How we're using AI today Our Engineering, Product, and Design teams are thoughtfully integrating AI across the full software and product development lifecycle to move faster without sacrificing quality or security. In practice, that looks like engineers using AI-assisted coding tools to accelerate reviews and catch bugs earlier, product managers synthesizing user research at scale, and designers rapidly prototyping and iterating with AI-generated mockups. We approach AI the same way we approach security: with clear principles, human accountability at every consequential decision point, and rigorous evaluation before anything ships to customers. This is a remote opportunity within Canada and the US. What we're looking for: You have designed and operated large-scale distributed systems where reliability, scalability, maintainability, and operational excellence matter. You have deep experience driving architecture and technical direction across multiple teams, organizations, or product domains. You have strong systems-thinking instincts and can reason effectively about platform boundaries, distributed systems constraints, developer ergonomics, and long-term technical sustainability. You have experience building customer-facing product systems across clients, APIs, distributed services, cloud infrastructure, and data platforms. You have experience building or scaling event-driven systems, microservices architectures, or shared platform infrastructure in production environments. You have practical experience integrating AI or ML capabilities into production applications and understand the engineering tradeoffs involved in introducing AI into trust-sensitive product experiences. You have strong instincts for privacy-preserving and security-conscious system design, including thoughtful handling of telemetry, user data, permissions, and auditability. You are effective at driving alignment across teams with different incentives, priorities, and technical perspectives. You communicate clearly with engineers, executives, and cross-functional partners, and can explain complex technical tradeoffs in practical terms. You are comfortable operating in ambiguity and helping organizations make durable technical decisions before every variable is known. Bonus points for: Experience in identity, authentication, authorization, secrets management, enterprise security, or trust-oriented product domains. Experience building large-scale event-driven or multi-region distributed systems in cloud environments. Experience building cross-platform applications or shared platform architectures at scale. Experience with developer platforms, internal engineering frameworks, CI/CD systems, or large-scale infrastructure modernization initiatives. Experience integrating LLMs or AI-assisted workflows into customer-facing SaaS applications. Experience with endpoint trust, browser or extension security, enterprise administration workflows, or device posture systems. Experience mentoring engineers and raising the engineering bar across organizations through technical leadership and operational excellence. What you can expect: Define architecture and technical direction for core product capabilities spanning clients, distributed services, data platforms, and shared infrastructure. Establish engineering standards and reusable architectural patterns for scalable, maintainable, and resilient product systems across Product Engineering. Drive long-term technical strategy across critical product areas, balancing immediate delivery needs with scalability, operational excellence, and platform sustainability. Partner closely with Product, Design, Security, Privacy, Infrastructure, and Data teams to ensure technical decisions support both customer outcomes and long-term operational durability. Guide how AI-powered capabilities are integrated into customer-facing product experiences, ensuring systems are reliable, observable, operationally safe, and aligned with customer trust expectations. Define engineering expectations for AI-enabled product systems, including evaluation frameworks, rollout safety, telemetry, fallback behavior, auditability, and operational controls. Establish shared platform capabilities and infrastructure patterns that allow teams to build product features consistently across clients, services, APIs, and AI-assisted workflows. Influence and drive key architectural decisions around distributed systems design, event-driven architectures, synchronization models, scalability, performance, reliability, extensibility, and platform interoperability. Help teams navigate difficult technical tradeoffs, unblock large cross-functional initiatives, and reduce systemic engineering complexity across the organization. Raise the operational bar for production systems through stronger reliability practices, observability standards, incident readiness, performance analysis, and engineering discipline. Mentor and influence engineers across the organization through technical leadership, architecture reviews, design guidance, and hands-on problem solving. What success looks like: Success in this role means Product Engineering can scale product development without sacrificing reliability, maintainability, security, or customer trust. That includes: Durable architectural patterns that enable teams to move faster with less duplication and lower operational overhead. Product systems that scale reliably across platforms, enterprise environments, and growing customer complexity. Engineering teams making more consistent technical decisions with clearer standards and stronger shared foundations. AI-powered product experiences that are useful, measurable, trustworthy, and operationally safe. Reduced systemic friction across development, delivery, observability, and cross-team coordination. Stronger operational resilience, including improved reliability, debuggability, rollout safety, and incident response readiness. Technical investments that improve long-term engineering velocity instead of creating organizational drag or platform fragmentation. USA-based roles only: The annual base salary for this role is between $246,000 USD and $369,000 USD, plus immediate participation in 1Password's benefits program (health, dental, 401k and many others), utilization of our generous paid time off, an equity grant and, where applicable, participation in our incentive programs. Canada-based roles only: The annual base salary for this role is between $228,000 CAD and $342,000 CAD, plus immediate participation in 1Password's generous benefits program (health, dental, RRSP and many others), utilization of our generous paid time off, an equity grant and, where applicable, participation in our incentive programs. At 1Password, we approach each individual's compensation with a promise of fair market value and internal equity commensurate with experience and specific skill set. This posting is for an existing vacancy. Our culture At 1Password, we prioritize collaboration, clear and transparent communication, receptiveness to feedback, and alignment with our core values: keep it simple, lead with honesty, and put people first. You'll be part of a team that challenges the status quo, and is excited to experiment and iterate in search of the best solution. That said, 1Password is not for everyone . Our work is demanding, we strive for excellence, and the pace is fast. We need people who are keen to take on challenging problems, who seek feedback to grow, and who are driven to make an impact. If you're looking for a place where you can settle into a comfortable routine, this might not be the right fit for you. We're looking for individuals who are proven experts in their fields, as well as those who are highly adaptable, can thrive in ambiguity and through change, are curious, and above all deliver results. How we work with AI We are committed to leveraging cutting-edge technology—including AI—to achieve our mission. We also understand that thinking critically about AI in its current forms will help us create better solutions for our customers and ourselves with its future forms, which will help us continue to close the gap between security and privacy and achieve our mission. We want team members at all levels to take the approach of actively learning AI best practices, identifying opportunities to apply AI in meaningful ways, and driving innovative solutions in their daily work. Embracing the future of AI isn't just encouraged—it's an essential part of how we will be successful at 1Password. This approach extends to our hiring process—candidates are welcome to use AI tools responsibly and thoughtfully during the application process. Our approach to remote work We believe in the power of remote work, but recognize that in-person connection is important to help us achieve our mission.
