We are a 100% remote company with team members across 40+ countries, backed by leading investors including Lightspeed Venture Partners, Sequoia Capital, GIC, Coatue, J.P. Morgan, CapitalG, and Lead Edge Capital. Learn more at grafana.com and follow us on LinkedIn and X . We're scaling fast and staying true to what makes us different: an open-source legacy, a global collaborative culture, and a passion for meaningful work. Our team thrives in an innovation-driven environment where transparency, autonomy, and trust fuel everything we do. You may not meet every requirement, and that's okay. If this role excites you, we'd love you to raise your hand for what could be a truly career-defining opportunity. This is a remote position. We are looking for candidates in the UK, Ireland, Spain, Germany or Sweden. Senior Software Engineer - Security Assurances We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer, Security Assurance to join our GRC engineering team. We are building a security system that's automated at scale, rigorously data-driven, and built from the ground up with defense-in-depth and self-healing in mind. We support a highly autonomous, remote-first, cloud-native organization. We are a technical team that can build any tool we need, while knowing when to buy to improve velocity. To support our growth and ambitious vision, we embrace agile principles and values, share openly, apply context-driven security mechanisms, default to action, and have an OSS-first mindset. We are a 100% remote company. We believe in high-velocity but sustainable expectations and timeframes, giving people the room to do great work. The Opportunity: You will work to build out our security observability, compliance, and control management systems and tools. You will develop services and tools to proactively defend our systems, provide visibility to our security state, and give engineers and stakeholders guardrails and paved roads to behave securely. You will collaborate across your team, the security department, and wider Grafana to write and deploy security policies across all of our SDLC, applications, and infrastructure. This is a very technical, hands-on keyboard software engineering, so development experience is critical. You will ideally have some experience building, implementing and improving the maturity of security programs in Cloud-based SaaS organizations. Knowledge of security standards and frameworks (ISO, FedRAMP, PCI-DSS, GDPR, etc) is useful, but the disposition to quickly learn new things is more important than rote knowledge. You will work alongside other security engineers, full-stack developers, and customer-facing teams. Experience guiding and negotiating with peers, stakeholders, customers, and auditors is a plus. What You'll Be Doing: Be a technical contributor on our GRC team covering a range of areas, including certifications, application, build, cloud, and supply chain security, and internal security tooling development Develop, implement, and maintain highly automated security assurance programs to ensure compliance with organizational and regulatory requirements (e.g., ISO 27001, SOC 2, GDPR, NIST, PCI-DSS, TISAX, whatever else our customers eventually throw at us) Develop systems, automations, and methods of security observability to push the GRC engineering organization beyond just meeting certification requirements Deploy security and compliance checks in an employee-enabling way (guardrails and paved roads) in their daily workflows and build pipelines Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate security controls into the software development lifecycle and operational processes. Respond to customer security issues, security alerts, and potential incidents What Makes You a Great Fit: Experience developing in a production environment with at least one programming language. "Roads? Where we're going, we don't need roads." Doc Brown, Back to the Future Senior Software Engineer - TypeScript & Node, Distributed Messaging (Kafka / RabbitMQ) and AI Coding Agents. Remote, USA (Pacific overlap preferred). Up to $230k + equity. Full-time. US citizens and Green Card holders only - no sponsorship or visa transfers of any kind. READ THIS BIT FIRST Three things decide whether this role is for you. Everything below is detail. Deep TypeScript and Node. Expert level, not exposure. Modern service frameworks, a monorepo setup, React on the front end, cloud-native infrastructure. If TypeScript has been incidental to a Java or Python career, this is not your role. Real distributed messaging Kafka, RabbitMQ or equivalent. This is the single most common reason strong resumes get rejected here. Event-driven systems, queueing and streaming, ordering, idempotency, retries, and what happens when a consumer falls over at volume. Calling REST APIs is not this. Shipping production code with AI coding agents. Hands-on, in a real codebase, right now. You should have opinions about what you delegate to an agent, what you never would, and how you review what comes back. Theory and weekend experiments will not clear the bar. Miss one of the three and the conversation stops there. Have all three and you are already most of the way into a process with a company paying well above market for engineers who do this properly. THE COMPANY A venture-backed B2B software company of roughly 100 people, rebuilding the data layer that moves orders, invoices and shipment data between the companies that actually make and ship things. It is a category that has run on decades-old tooling, manual configuration and months-long onboarding since roughly the fax era. This team turned it into a self-service platform with AI built into the core of the product, and hundreds of enterprise customers now push serious production volume through it daily. Boring-sounding industry. Enormous, sticky market. Genuinely interesting engineering. WHY THIS ONE IS DIFFERENT Most companies will tell you they are AI-forward. Usually that means someone expensed a licence and the team is encouraged to experiment. Here, coding agents are standard equipment - simply how the work gets done. Which means the senior engineering job has quietly turned into something more interesting than it was three years ago. You are not the fastest typist on the team. You are the person who decides what is worth building, designs the system it lives in, directs the agents doing the construction, and reviews their output with exactly the scepticism you would bring to a teammate's pull request. And here is what gets missed in every breathless post about AI replacing engineers: this makes deep fundamentals more valuable, not less. You cannot safely approve what an agent produces if you do not genuinely understand the system underneath it. An agent will happily hand you something that compiles, passes tests, and quietly falls apart the first time real volume hits it at 3am. Catching that is the job. WHAT YOU WILL ACTUALLY BE DOING Designing the hard parts. You lead the technical design of major initiatives and product features. You write the design docs. You make the call on architecture and you argue it in business terms, not just technical ones. Directing and reviewing AI agents. Decomposing work so agents can execute it well, steering that execution, and reviewing it rigorously. You set the standard for what an agent is and is not allowed to ship. Living in distributed systems. The platform is event-driven, moving high volumes of transactional data between parties who all have opinions about format and timing. Owning reliability. Enterprise customers' supply chains depend on what you build. You own how it behaves under load and when things break. Raising the bar. Mentoring other engineers and lifting their design skills. Partnering with product. Pushing back when the engineering cost does not justify the outcome, and proposing the better route to the same result. WHAT THIS ROLE IS NOT Not a management role. No reports, no headcount, no review cycles. If you went into management and came back to IC because building is what you love, that reads as excellent judgement here. Not execution inside someone else's architecture. If the last few years were delivering well-specified work within a design someone more senior set, this will not land at this level. Not a prompt-engineering gig. Using agents is the baseline, not the achievement. Not a process role. Nobody is being hired to run ceremonies, own a board, or evangelise a methodology. Not backend-only, frontend-only or infra-only. This is product engineering. Not hybrid, and not sponsored. Genuinely remote, US-based, Pacific overlap preferred. No visa sponsorship and no visa transfers. THE REST OF THE SCREEN 5-15 years in product engineering, shipping things customers use. A growth-stage background - Series C or later, or Series A/B with genuine enterprise traction. End-to-end ownership of a major system or product area. Product-minded, strong communicator who can argue a trade-off with people who do not write code. B2B SaaS experience is a bonus. THE DETAILS Up to $230k + equity. Full-time and permanent. Remote-first by design, with unlimited PTO and a work-from-home benefit. Four-stage interview process. Several engineers are being hired on this requisition, so you are not competing for a single seat. This is a confidential search handled by Big Wave Digital. Apply here and we will walk you through the company, the product, the team and the process. Where we're going, we don't need roads. We do need someone who can read what the machines write. People & Workplace Experience Manager
Full TimeOn-siteMid€55,000 - €55,000 / Year

About Dust Work is being rewritten, and the people holding the pen are the ones who actually run it. With enterprise-grade governance, flexible model choice, and a collaborative interface for humans and agents to work together, Dust empowers AI Operators at the world's fastest-moving companies to rewire how work gets done. With 70%+ weekly active users, people stick with Dust as much as they do with Slack and Notion. We don't get piloted and shelved. We land once, and spread. We're at an exciting stage of our journey, and growing fast. We're serving great customers like Datadog, 1Password, Cursor, Clay, Vanta and Persona, and aim to x5 our growth by the end of 2026. Dust is backed by Sequoia with a determined team of optimists (coming from Stripe, OpenAI, and Stanford) who like to focus on users, ship fast, and don't take themselves too seriously while doing so. The Generalist named us among the Future 50 . The role Dust is growing fast, and we want every person who joins us to feel welcome, supported, connected and able to do their best work. As our People Experience Manager, you'll shape how people experience Dust, from their first day and the moments that bring us together to the way our offices in Paris, London, New York and San Francisco support the team. We're looking for someone who is operationally excellent and creatively ambitious. You'll handle the details carefully, and you'll also look for ways to make the employee experience much better. One day you might be redesigning part of onboarding, the next planning a company offsite, acting on survey feedback, or working with a site lead to improve one of our offices. This role works as a partner across the company. You'll work most closely with People Operations, who lead on the core people processes. Together, you'll make sure the employee experience is well run behind the scenes and thoughtful in how people actually experience it. In Paris, you'll also work closely with our Office Manager, who runs our HQ on site and leads much of our day-to-day office life and events. In London, New York and San Francisco, you'll coordinate with local site leads. You'll also work with IT, Finance, Legal, Marketing, leadership and outside partners. Your guiding principle: consistency where it matters, local adaptation where it creates a better experience. What you will do: Own the employee journey Own the onboarding experience end to end, working closely with our People Ops Specialist, from pre-boarding and equipment to first-day logistics and the first few weeks, so new joiners can contribute from day one in every location. Work with People Ops, IT, Finance, hiring managers, our Paris Office Manager and site leads so every handoff in the employee journey is smooth. Partner with People Ops and IT on offboarding, so people leave with the same care they got when they joined. Be a trusted point of contact for everyday employee questions and needs, and know when to bring in People Ops. Build culture and community Run and improve our team rituals, including weekly lunches, team drinks, dinners and company gatherings. Organise one or two company offsites or retreats each year. Create moments that help people connect, celebrate progress and feel they belong, across offices and time zones. Pay attention to the details that make experiences feel personal and inclusive, such as dietary needs, accessibility, preferences and team milestones. Partner with People and Marketing on selected external and brand-building events. Listen and turn feedback into action Build feedback loops (surveys, conversations, informal check-ins) to understand how people experience Dust. Turn what people tell us into concrete recommendations and visible improvements. Define and track simple, useful measures of employee and workplace experience. Communicate clearly and consistently about updates, events, practical information and team norms. Be assertive when needed. Shape our workplaces Make sure our offices are safe, welcoming, functional and ergonomic, and that they reflect how we want people to feel at Dust. Work with our office manager on day-to-day operations: supplies, maintenance, access, equipment and services. Manage workplace vendors, contracts and budget, and look for efficient ways to improve the experience. Spot operational needs early and fix issues before they disrupt anyone. Scale the experience as Dust grows Help shape how our physical, hybrid and digital environments evolve as the company grows. Set up simple, scalable processes and clear ownership across People, IT, Finance and Legal topics. Keep the employee experience personal and high quality without making it bureaucratic. What success looks like After your first 100 days, you will have: Built a smooth, consistent onboarding experience for every new joiner, in every location. Delivered team rituals, events and offsites that strengthen connection and culture. Set up feedback loops and a practical set of metrics that guide People Experience decisions. Created well-run, welcoming offices where operational issues are handled quickly and proactively. Established clear processes and ownership across People, workplace, IT, Finance and Legal. Helped Dust grow its employee experience without it becoming bureaucratic or impersonal. What we are looking for 4+ years of experience in People Operations, People Experience, Workplace Experience in a fast growing, globally distributed environment A proactive generalist who can handle many kinds of work at once without losing sight of the bigger picture. Real ideas, sound judgement and the confidence to improve how things work today. Strong operational ownership, project management skills and attention to detail. Warmth, empathy and a genuine interest in helping people feel comfortable and connected. Clear, direct, thoughtful communication, and discretion with sensitive situations. Confidence working with vendors, budgets and outside partners. The ability to build simple processes that scale, and to keep a high bar for quality while staying pragmatic. Comfort with a fast-moving environment where priorities can change, working on your own while collaborating across the company. Location We're prioritizing building our team with an in-person culture at our offices in Paris, London, San Francisco, and New York because we value the magic that happens when talented people work closely together. We have an office-first culture. Some of the best things about building at Dust are the energy, the fast decisions, and the unexpected conversations that unlock a hard problem, which happen because we are in the same room. Being together is not a formality, it is how we do our best work, and it is something we actively protect. That said, we hire people with strong judgement and we extend that trust to how they manage their time. When working from home makes more sense for what you need to get done that day, we trust you to make that call. Why Dust The models are powerful enough. What's missing is the product layer where AI meets how companies actually work. That's what we're building: the infrastructure that lets any team turn scattered knowledge and tools into coordinated execution with agents they build, own, and run themselves. We use Dust ourselves every day. We get to shape how humans and agents collaborate while solving our own problems with the product we ship. That loop is rare, and it's why we move fast. If you're excited about defining a new category and want to join a determined team of optimists who focus on users, ship fast, and don't take themselves too seriously, we'd love to talk. Even if you don't check every box in our requirements, we encourage you to apply.
