Cloud Engineer
RobCoMunich, Germany25 days ago
Full TimeOn-siteMid
pythongoawsgcpec2eks+14

About the Role at RobCo RobCo is building the category of Autonomous Industrial Robotics and we're doing it fast. We believe that automating the ordinary frees humans to do the extraordinary, and we're building the end-to-end robotics infrastructure to make that possible - hardware, software, and AI in one stack that just works. We're looking for a Cloud Engineer to join our Infrastructure & Data team as the fifth person in the team and become the go-to person for GitLab and GitOps best practices at RobCo. You'll have a clear area to own from day one: shaping and improving the way we work with GitLab across engineering teams, with a strong focus on CI/CD, automation and scalable GitOps practices. You'll also get exposure to Terraform, different cloud environments such as GCP and AWS, Kubernetes, MLOps and robot infrastructure. You'll be working alongside teammates with deeper expertise in those areas, so there's plenty of room to learn, broaden your technical scope and grow into new parts of the stack. Your Responsibilities Build and maintain GitOps workflows so that Git is the single source of truth for our infrastructure and application deployments. Manage promotion flows across environments (dev, production) and out to edge devices. Write and maintain Terraform (or similar IaC) for our AWS environment, delivered through pull requests, reviews, and automated pipelines. Build and improve CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI) that test, validate, and deploy changes safely. Help keep our platform reliable: set up monitoring, alerting, and dashboards, take part in incident response, and contribute to post-mortems. Apply software security best practices in your day-to-day work. Automate repetitive operational work and write small tools or services where they help. Support engineering teams with deployments, environment setup, and cost visibility. We're looking for someone who has: 3+ years of experience in a Cloud, DevOps, Platform, or Infrastructure engineering role. Hands-on experience with GitOps best practices. Experience building CI/CD pipelines. Familiar with infrastructure-as-code, ideally Terraform. Familiar with AWS, including EKS, RDS, S3, and EC2. Scripting or programming skills in Python, Go, or a similar language. A basic understanding of softwaresoftware security fundamentals and a willingness to deepen it. Nice to Have Basic knowledge of Kubernetes: deploying, operating, and troubleshooting workloads. Experience deploying to edge devices or managing fleets of distributed systems. Experience with secrets tooling (External Secrets, Sealed Secrets, Vault). Why join RobCo? Develop modular, software-defined robotics solutions with us that set new standards in automation. Help us build robots equipped with state-of-the-art AI that perceive their environment, analyze data, and make intelligent decisions in real time. As part of a very dynamic and fast-growing scale-up, you will take on responsibility from day one, drive your own projects, and see the direct impact of your work. Flat hierarchies, open communication, and regular 360° feedback enable fast decisions and support your professional and personal development. Wellpass membership (7,200+ studios across Germany), regular team events, and a team that takes both the work and the culture seriously. Flexible working hours, a modern office, and—depending on the role—the option to work from home. Regular team events—from relaxed beer & pizza nights on the rooftop terrace to shared experiences on ski trips or at Oktoberfest. About RobCo Founded in Munich in 2020, RobCo leads the transition toward fully Autonomous Industrial Robotics. Our mission is to deploy RobCo in every factory - solving the industrial labor shortage through end-to-end robotics that just works. Powered by Physical AI, our solutions combine a scalable modular hardware architecture with intelligent software that adapts to your use case, improves over time, and requires zero upfront investment through our Robotics-as-a-Service (RaaS) model. We solve our customers' most pressing pain points - labor shortage, cost pressure, workplace safety, and national reshoring - across the full spectrum of Autonomous Industrial Robotics. With $160M raised from investors including Lightspeed, Lingotto Innovation, and Sequoia, 200+ people globally, and 2.5M+ operating hours in the field, we are deploying robots in factories across Europe and the United States - with our US operations headquartered in Austin, TX, and our RobCo Bay Area Demo Lab in San Francisco. Don't meet every single requirement? If you're excited about this role but your past experience doesn't align perfectly with every qualification in the job description, we encourage you to apply anyway. You may be just the right candidate for this or other roles. At RobCo, applicants are selected regardless of ethnic origin, religion, gender, age, disability, or sexual orientation. All decisions throughout the recruitment process are based solely on applicants' qualifications, skills, knowledge, and experience, as well as relevant business requirements. Platform Support Engineer (Eng I)
Full TimeOn-siteMid
pythongobashawsterraformkubernetes+5

Help us use technology to make a big green dent in the universe! Kraken powers some of the most innovative global developments in energy. We create the technology that redefines utilities and unlocks a new energy system of the future. By optimising renewable generation, building a more intelligent grid, and empowering utilities to deliver an exceptional customer experience, our operating system is transforming the industry worldwide. It's an incredibly exciting time to work in energy. Join us on our mission to improve the lives of ONE BILLION humans within the decade and shape a cleaner, better future for everyone. Platform Support Engineering is a new team within Kraken's Platform department. It will be the primary contact point for most day-to-day engineering interactions between the company's 2,000 staff and the 120 engineers in the Platform department. The team will handle a high volume of tickets each month, supporting the business across a myriad of clients in the EU, North America, and Australia-Pacific regions on a 24/5 basis. This role sits in the middle of that function, owning investigations end-to-end and beginning to shape the team's tooling and processes. You'll work with enough independence to own complex investigations, and close enough to the platform to keep developing your technical depth. What you'll do Act as the primary contact point for platform-related requests and non-critical incidents from engineers, Technical Account Managers, and Client Delivery Leads Triage incoming tickets and alerts, gathering context and reproducing issues where possible Monitor platform alerting channels and respond to non-critical alerts in line with defined processes Resolve routine platform requests (access, configuration changes, environment queries, etc.) Escalate complex technical issues to the relevant Platform Engineering teams for investigation and resolution, capturing their input and formalising it into runbooks for future use Escalate to Senior Platform Support Engineers or the Platform Support Lead where pushback or seniority is required Communicate clearly across a range of technical and non-technical audiences, translating between the two where needed Identify recurring problems and flag opportunities to improve tooling, automation or documentation Maintain and improve runbooks, FAQs and internal documentation Work closely with Platform Engineers to build your understanding of how the platform is built and operated Take ownership of ticket investigations end-to-end, including identifying when to escalate severity without prompting Proactively flag risks and scope changes to stakeholders before they become problems Identify and close gaps in team documentation without being asked Begin contributing to tooling and automation improvements: scoped, well-defined pieces that reduce toil or improve the support workflow What you'll need Hands-on experience with at least one of: AWS (console + CLI), Kubernetes (kubectl, real triage experience), Terraform (reading plans, running applies) Comfortable triaging platform issues independently, knowing what to look for without being told and able to investigate before escalating Experience communicating technical problems and resolutions to non-technical stakeholders Can engage confidently in technical conversations with Platform Engineers when investigating complex issues, contributing context and understanding the response Proactively flags risks and scope changes to stakeholders before they become problems Able to identify gaps in documentation and close them, not just follow what exists It would be great if you had Familiarity with observability tooling (Datadog or similar), using it to understand system behaviour, not just confirm alerts Experience in a support, SRE, or platform ops role in a high-scale environment Experience with GitOps workflows, understanding how infrastructure changes flow from code to production Familiarity with incident management tooling (PagerDuty, incident.io , Rootly, or similar), not just receiving alerts but owning the response flow Exposure to a client-facing or stakeholder-heavy environment (TAMs, CDLs, or similar non-engineering audiences) Scripting ability in Python, Bash, or similar, enough to automate a repetitive task or parse logs efficiently What success looks like in this role You're comfortable with ambiguity. Platform Support sits at the intersection of engineering, clients, and product. Not every ticket has a clean answer. The people who do well here move through uncertainty rather than waiting for it to resolve. You communicate before you're asked to. Stakeholders (engineers, TAMs, CDLs) care most about knowing what's happening. Proactive, accurate updates matter more than perfect resolutions. You treat runbooks as a floor, not a ceiling. Following a runbook is the starting point. Finding the gap in it, fixing it, and making the next person's job easier is the standard we're aiming for. You escalate with context, not just symptoms. When something needs to go up the chain, it goes up with a clear problem statement, what's been tried, and what's needed. You don't just hand off the stress. Are you ready for a career with us? We want to ensure you have the right tools and environment to unleash your potential. If you have any accommodation requests, please contact us at ----- We'll do our best to tailor the experience to your needs so you can feel comfortable, confident and be at your best! Studies have shown that some groups of people, like women, are less likely to apply to a role unless they meet 100% of the job requirements. Whoever you are, if you like one of our jobs, we encourage you to apply as you might just be the candidate we're looking for! At Kraken, we're creating a team of genuine, honest, empathetic people. Our people are our strongest asset and the unique skills and perspectives people bring to the team are the driving force of our success. As an equal opportunity employer, we do not discriminate on the basis of any protected attribute. We consider all applicants without regard to race, colour, religion, national origin, age, sex, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, marital or veteran status, disability, or any other legally protected status. As a key member of our Product Development team, you will operate with a high degree of autonomy while collaborating closely with backend and frontend engineers, QA, DevOps, and product owners. In this role, you will directly align with cross-functional engineering stakeholders and indirectly impact our customers through the features and fixes you deliver, while having direct access to our CTO as a trusted mentor and technical sparring partner How you'll make an impact: Own features end-to-end: Take full ownership of user-facing features across the stack, from refining business logic in modern Java/Spring Boot to building responsive React/TypeScript interfaces via GraphQL and REST APIs. Amplify velocity with AI: Lead by example in our AI-native engineering culture. You will use tools like Cursor, Claude, or Gemini to accelerate scaffolding, refactoring, and test writing, while acting as the ultimate authority on architectural integrity, security, and quality. As agents take on more of the routine coding, your leverage moves up a level - you direct them, shape the architecture, and own the quality of what ships. Full-Stack Core Stack: Deep expertise in modern Java (17+), the Spring Boot ecosystem (Spring Security, Spring Data JPA), React 18, TypeScript, Redux, and GraphQL (Apollo Client). Data & Testing Rigor: Strong hands-on experience with SQL/PostgreSQL, Flyway migrations, full-stack testing (Unit, Integration, E2E), and GitLab CI/CD pipelines. Languages: Business fluent English is required; German skills are a strong plus. Bonus Impact: Prior experience with semantic web tools (RDF, SPARQL, Apache Jena), Material UI (MUI 5), Elasticsearch, or pharma/life-sciences domains (FHIR, IDMP) is a major plus. Why you'll love working here: Impactful Career Growth: Evolve into a Technical Lead / Lead Engineer role or deepen your specialization in semantic data platforms, AI features, or platform architecture as we scale. Epic Office & Hybrid Work: Work from our brand-new office in the KölnTurm, featuring breathtaking views over the city (even higher than the view from the Cologne Cathedral!). Enjoy flexible hybrid options. (Note: On-site presence in Cologne/NRW is required; fully remote work is not offered). Community & Industry Events: Connect and grow your network through exclusive industry events hosted regularly right in our scenic office space. Competitive Compensation: Fixed salary package of €75,000 – €100,000 per year for a full-time, permanent position. Senior/Staff AI Engineer, Quality & Evals (m/f/x)
Full TimeOn-siteMid
pythongcpbigqueryclickhousellmgcp+4

About us We're Cortea , a Berlin startup transforming audits with AI . Manual, document-heavy audits waste expert time while demand keeps rising. Our AI-powered software and specialized AI agents remove the repetitive work so auditors can focus on judgment. Backed by top-tier VCs with >15m EUR funding, with a working product and paying customers, we're rapidly scaling. We value first-principles thinking, speed, trust, and kindness . We build side by side in our Berlin office . Your Role We are looking for an engineer with strong backend, data, and AI systems experience to build the evaluation and observability foundation for production-grade LLM agents used in complex audit workflows. This role sits at the intersection of backend engineering, data infrastructure, and AI quality . You will build the evaluation systems that power our multimodal retrieval agents and continuously improve critical quality metrics across current and future pipelines. You'll work at the edge of applied AI and information retrieval, building multimodal agentic pipelines and solving hard context and agent-harness engineering problems. This is not a traditional analytics, BI, or dashboarding role. You should expect to write production code, design data architecture, work inside backend systems, and directly improve the quality, cost, reliability, and performance of LLM-based agents. What you'll do You will help build and operate the technical systems around our AI agents, with a focus on data infrastructure, evaluation, observability, and optimization. You will: Build online and offline evaluation systems for LLM agents, including pipelines that use golden datasets, ground-truth data, human review workflows, and experiment results. Create automated quality gates so changes to prompts, context, models, or agent logic can be tested before reaching production. Analyze large volumes of agent traces and executions in columnar and analytical databases such as BigQuery or ClickHouse to identify failure modes, quality regressions, latency issues, reliability gaps, and cost optimization opportunities. Build reliable data retention and replay mechanisms for long-term analysis of production agent behavior. Manage observability tools for tracing, monitoring, debugging, and experiment management of our audit agents. Team up with backend engineers to improve the speed and reliability of our retrieval and reasoning agents. You will fit into the role if you... Have strong Python and/or backend engineering experience. Have a solid understanding of how LLM and agent systems are evaluated—including deterministic checks, ground truth, LLM-as-judge, human review, and quality metrics—and can reason about when each approach is appropriate. Have deployed and operated systems in the cloud, ideally on GCP. Have hands-on experience building end-to-end retrieval or ML pipeline evaluation systems and using LLM observability or experimentation tools such as Braintrust, MLflow, Langfuse, or Weights & Biases. Are comfortable working with analytical databases, data warehouses, columnar stores, and high-volume event or trace data. Understand system design, reliability, observability, monitoring, logging, debugging, and operational trade-offs. Bring senior-level engineering judgment: you can make architectural decisions, communicate trade-offs, and build systems that other engineers can extend. Are comfortable with ambiguity, able to reason from first principles, and excited to build infrastructure for AI systems that are actively used in production. Nice-to-haves that are a plus: Designing data pipelines, ETL/ELT workflows, event-processing systems, or feedback loops for production data. Building infrastructure around LLM-based products or agentic systems, including optimizing LLM usage, context windows, reasoning tokens, or model selection. Working with production traces from complex distributed systems. Building internal platforms for engineers, domain experts, or operations teams. Using workflow orchestration systems such as Temporal or similar. Familiarity with audit, finance, compliance, or other high-accuracy domains. Experience in an early-stage startup or fast-moving engineering environment. No-one checks every box. If you've shipped retrieval systems and like owning evaluations and pipelines, let's talk. What we offer High impact & growth: Shape strategy at a scaling AI startup from day one. Mission-driven culture: Ambitious team valuing first-principles thinking and bold ideas. Attractive compensation: competitive salary plus significant equity. Best tools for the job: Generous coding tools budget so you can use the best tools for the job. Startup perks: Flexible vacation, team lunches, retreats, central Berlin office. Interview process First Call — Intro to Cortea with Liza Second Call — Technical interview with Vlad Third Call — Deep dive into our culture with our Co-Founder Philipp On-site Day (Berlin) — Meet the team and work on a real problem together We're an equal-opportunity team and encourage women and underrepresented groups to apply. Engineer - Data & Platforms (m/f/d)
BitcapBerlin HQ, Germany25 days ago
Full TimeOn-siteMid
pythonawsci/cdsqldatabricksllm+4

Your Role & How we work As our Engineer - Data & Platforms (m/f/d), you build and run the internal data products that our investment team, Quantitative Research and AI Engineering rely on every day: the pipelines, datasets, APIs and tools that turn a large and growing pool of financial and alternative data into something investors can act on. Our stack is Python, SQL, AWS, and Databricks. You report to our Director of Engineering. This is a hands-on engineering role: most of your time goes to designing, building, and shipping. The team is small, so you take ownership of real products early, and you get a manager and colleagues invested in your growth into investment and data-platform topics. You work closely with Quantitative Research, AI Engineering, Product & Data, and the investment team, and we treat agentic AI as a default in how we build. What you will do Build and improve the internal products the investment and research teams use daily: data pipelines, datasets, APIs, and tooling, on top of our lakehouse and orchestration stack. Work directly with the teams you build for: take in their requests, triage and prioritise them, protect the integrity and consistency of the product, and explain features and implementation trade-offs in clear, non-technical language. Design, build, and operate reliable data pipelines, ETLs and integrations that handle complex financial and alternative datasets. Bring and reinforce good engineering habits in the team: automated testing at several levels, CI/CD, pull requests and code review, and clear documentation. Contribute to operational excellence: observability, monitoring, data quality, and secure data handling. Use agentic AI across engineering work (coding, review, testing, debugging, documentation) and help the team push these practices forward. The experience you bring 3 to 5 years of professional software or data engineering experience, building and operating systems in production. Strong Python and strong SQL, with clean, readable code and a good sense for data modelling. Proven engineering discipline: you write tests (unit, integration, data quality), work with CI/CD, and use pull requests and code review as a matter of course, and you can show how you helped a team adopt them. Clear communication with non-engineers: you can explain what you built, why, and what it will and will not do, and you can say no constructively. Hands-on use of AI across engineering functions, including frontier coding systems such as Claude Code and Codex, as a core part of how you work. Genuine interest in investing, financial markets and data, and the ambition to grow into these topics. Nice to have: Databricks or PySpark; data platform tooling such as orchestration (Airflow, Dagster or similar), lakehouse formats (Parquet, Delta, Iceberg) and AWS; experience with investment, financial or market data; building web frontends or APIs for internal tools; LLM systems in production. 2 reasons why you should not apply You prefer fully specified tickets and no contact with users. Here the people you build for sit next to you, ask for things directly, and expect you to weigh in on what should be built and how. You treat AI tooling as an occasional helper. We expect agentic AI to be a default in how you build, review, test, and ship, every day, not now and then. Your mindset You are a builder who loves to ship: pragmatic on trade-offs, careful on quality. You move fast, but fast does not mean sloppy. You care about correctness, reliability, security, and long-term maintainability, and you leave codebases and teams better than you found them. You are curious about how investment decisions are made and want to understand the data behind them, not just move it. You see AI-powered development as a competitive advantage, not a novelty, and use agentic AI as a core part of how you work. You communicate clearly on progress, trade-offs, and risk, and you own problems end-to-end. What we offer Work with petabytes of data and the most cutting-edge tools in and beyond asset management, with Day 1 ownership of challenging, varied work and a steep learning curve. Become part of a unique success story in European asset management, alongside the most knowledgeable experts in the industry on one of the most consequential investment themes of the next decade. A motivated, highly international team (15 nationalities) that gathers in person at our Berlin HQ and supports each other, with flat hierarchies and direct interaction with our management team and investors. Visa sponsorship, relocation support, and a competitive compensation package with a meaningful variable component tied to fund performance. Find Jobs in Germany on Arbeitnow
