The Role We've grown to roughly 265 people working onsite from our Menlo Park headquarters, supported by a large network of remote U.S.-licensed clinicians — and part of the Series C is earmarked for acquisitions. The systems and the spaces holding all of that together were built for a much smaller company. We're hiring a Director of IT & Workplace to own them properly. You'll own two halves of the same problem: the employee technology platform — identity, endpoints, networking, the SaaS portfolio, and our IT security posture — and the physical environment the company runs on, from space planning and physical security to the AV that customer demos and all-hands depend on. You'll inherit a small, capable team and be accountable for leveling it up. You'll be the named owner for IT controls in our HIPAA and SOC 2 programs, you'll own the IT and workplace budget, and when we acquire a company, you'll be the one integrating it. Our Environment Identity and access: Okta for SSO, MFA, and lifecycle provisioning. Productivity: Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace, both in active use across the company. Endpoints: a Mac-primary fleet with Windows machines alongside it, managed through MDM. VDIs included. Internal systems: IRU, plus a growing portfolio of internal and third-party SaaS applications. Workplace: a Palo Alto headquarters with conference room AV and access control, plus a distributed clinician and staff population. What You'll Do Strategy, budget, and team Own a multi-year IT and workplace roadmap tied to the hiring plan, and bring it to leadership with clear tradeoffs and funding asks. Own the IT and workplace operating and capital budget: forecast it, defend it in planning cycles, and continuously rationalize license, vendor, and facilities spend. Lead, coach, and grow the existing team — set clear expectations, run honest performance conversations, hire as scope deepens, and build career paths that keep strong people. Define and publish service levels for ticket response, uptime, onboarding readiness, and workplace turnaround, and report against them to the executive team. Technology and infrastructure Own the identity platform: SSO, MFA, automated joiner-mover-leaver provisioning in Okta, and access governance across every connected application. Own the endpoint fleet and the SaaS portfolio — Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, IRU, and a long tail of business applications — with enforced MDM baselines for encryption, patching, and configuration. Own network and connectivity for the headquarters and the remote workforce, with redundancy appropriate to a company our customers depend on. Replace manual provisioning, access reviews, and device setup with scripted, auditable workflows. Lead major programs end to end: platform migrations, upgrades, office buildouts, and the IT and workplace integration of acquired companies. Security, compliance, and risk Serve as the accountable owner for IT controls in our HIPAA, SOC 2, and customer security review programs, including evidence collection and audit response. Enforce least privilege across the environment and run recurring access certifications with documented outcomes. Partner with Security on incident response and vulnerability remediation, and with Legal on data handling, retention, and discovery requests. Own business continuity and disaster recovery for corporate systems — write the plans, test them, and fix what the tests expose. Treat protected health information and confidential data with the care our customers and their patients expect. This is non-negotiable in everything we do. Workplace and facilities Own day-to-day operations of the headquarters, and lead space planning and buildouts against a hiring plan that keeps moving. Manage physical security — access control and badging, visitor management, cameras, and emergency preparedness — aligned with our compliance obligations. Own conference room and event AV, including all-hands and customer visits, to a standard where the technology is never the story. Support remote clinicians and staff with reliable equipment logistics, home office standards, and consistent service regardless of location. Manage facilities, AV, security, and food vendors, plus landlord and lease matters, in partnership with Finance and Legal. What You'll Bring 8+ years in IT , spanning hands-on administration or engineering and progressively senior ownership. You've done the work you'll now be leading. 3+ years managing IT or workplace teams , including hiring, performance management, and developing people into bigger roles. Proven ownership of an IT function through rapid growth. You've scaled systems and process ahead of headcount, not behind it. Deep technical expertise across identity (Okta or comparable), Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace, MDM at fleet scale, and corporate networking. Experience as a named control owner in a regulated environment — HIPAA, SOC 2, or HITRUST — including sitting across the table from auditors. Budget ownership and vendor negotiation experience , with the financial fluency to frame a risk or a funding ask so a CFO can act on it. Workplace or facilities exposure — buildouts, moves, physical security, or lease management — or a genuine appetite to own it and learn quickly. Willingness to stay close to the work. This is a leadership role at a company where the director still unblocks a broken demo when it matters. Education: Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience. We weigh demonstrated ability over credentials. Nice to Have Healthcare, life sciences, or another environment handling sensitive personal data at scale. IT integration of an acquisition, or standing up a function's first access governance or asset management program. Automation depth (Python, Bash, PowerShell) and experience managing devices and infrastructure as code. Certifications such as Okta Certified Administrator, Microsoft 365 Enterprise Administrator, Jamf, CISM, CISSP, or ITIL. Why Join Hippocratic AI Reinvent healthcare with AI that puts safety first. How we're different We believe that the highest-impact AI research will be big science. At Anthropic we work as a single cohesive team on just a few large-scale research efforts. And we value impact — advancing our long-term goals of steerable, trustworthy AI — rather than work on smaller and more specific puzzles. We view AI research as an empirical science, which has as much in common with physics and biology as with traditional efforts in computer science. We're an extremely collaborative group, and we host frequent research discussions to ensure that we are pursuing the highest-impact work at any given time. As such, we greatly value communication skills. The easiest way to understand our research directions is to read our recent research. This research continues many of the directions our team worked on prior to Anthropic, including: GPT-3, Circuit-Based Interpretability, Multimodal Neurons, Scaling Laws, AI & Compute, Concrete Problems in AI Safety, and Learning from Human Preferences. Come work with us! Anthropic is a public benefit corporation headquartered in San Francisco. We offer competitive compensation and benefits, optional equity donation matching, generous vacation and parental leave, flexible working hours, and a lovely office space in which to collaborate with colleagues. About Mistral Mistral provides full-stack AI solutions: from frontier models to developer tools, applications, and compute. We partner with enterprises tackling the hardest problems across high-stakes industries like finance, manufacturing, defense, healthcare, and the public sector, co-creating customized AI systems that they can run on their terms. We are a dynamic, collaborative team passionate about AI and its potential to transform society. Our diverse workforce thrives in competitive environments and is committed to driving innovation. Our teams are distributed between Europe, North America, Asia and the Middle East. We are creative, low-ego and team-spirited. About the job Mistral builds AI systems that enterprises run on their own terms, in finance, manufacturing, defense, healthcare, and the public sector. The Solutions organization turns customers' hardest problems into AI they own, run, and scale on Mistral. It is one of the fastest-growing functions in the company: 650 people by end of 2026, across EMEA, the US, and Asia-Pacific, delivering measurable business outcomes for enterprise customers worldwide. The Solutions organization includes Deployment Strategists, Applied AI Engineers, Infrastructure Solution Architects, and Applied Scientists. They work with enterprise customers from pre-sales through implementation and deliver AI systems that produce measurable business outcomes. Solutions Operations is the function that makes this scale. It runs staffing and capacity planning across regions, the go-to-market motion by industry vertical and capability, delivery processes and tooling, the data behind our decisions, and value and customer-success measurement, with hubs in Europe, North America, and Asia-Pacific. We are hiring a Head of Solutions Operations . We are looking for an entrepreneurial COO or a former Forward Deployed Engineer with years of experience. This is a build-the-1-to-10 role: you will take a young, fast-growing function and turn it into the operating system that lets Solutions scale from hundreds to thousands of people without losing what makes it work. You will lead a team of program leads and regional operators across three continents, and work as a business partner to Solutions leadership. What you will do Own the Solutions operating system end to end. One process from pre-sales to post-sales, a single source of truth for people, projects, and opportunities, the Solutions tooling stack, and safety, security, and compliance built into how the team works. Industrialize what already works. Turn delivery and vertical playbooks, staffing frameworks, and the value and ROI methodology into reusable assets the whole team runs on, and drive their adoption in every geography. Build the global operating model. Keep core operations centralized while ensuring real adoption and the right local adaptation across EMEA, the US, and Asia-Pacific, with full-stack regional operators on the ground. Staff demanding customer engagements. Own capacity planning and forecasting, skills-to-project matching, time-to-staff, utilization, and bench health across all geographies. Make customer success measurable. Stand up delivery-outcome measurement and customer-satisfaction systems, and run the feedback loop that turns field learnings into product requirements and reusable IP. Make AI-native operations the default. Build internal tools, agents, and automations that remove manual work from planning, staffing, reporting, and delivery follow-ups, starting with your own team. Lead and grow the team. Hire, mentor, and develop program leads and regional operators, raise the technical bar of the function, and build the hiring plan for its next phase. Partner across functions. Work daily with Solutions leadership, regional Sales leadership, Product and Engineering, RevOps, and Talent Acquisition, and bring executive judgment on where to invest, slow down, or say no. How We Work in Solutions We care about people and outputs. What matters is what you ship. The best idea wins, whether it comes from a principal engineer or someone in their first week. Always ask why. The best solutions come from deep understanding, not copying what worked before. We say what we mean. Feedback is direct and given because we care. No politics. Low ego, high standards. We embrace an unstructured environment and find joy in it. About you Whatever your path, you bring: Extensive leadership experience , with demonstrated impact building and leading teams or functions in a fast-scaling environment. A track record of industrializing something handcrafted but working : processes, systems, and teams that scaled an order of magnitude without losing what made them work. The ability to bring structure to ambiguity and drive complex, cross-functional initiatives from strategy through execution. You are hands-on and biased toward action. Data-driven and AI-fluent : you build the internal tools, automations, dashboards, and AI workflows you rely on. Global operating range : you work naturally across geographies and cultures, with the executive presence to hold a room with C-level stakeholders and the credibility to challenge senior leaders. Stakeholder management : you align competing priorities and drive decisions without formal authority. Fluent in English ; additional languages are a plus. Ideally Experience in enterprise software, AI, or deep-tech delivery, or top-tier strategy consulting on complex technical transformations. Experience operating at global scale across EMEA, the US, and Asia-Pacific. Hands-on experience building AI-native operations: automating workflows with LLMs and agents rather than prompting a chatbot. MBA or advanced degree preferred. What We Offer We offer a comprehensive benefits package designed to support your well-being, growth, and work-life balance. Benefits vary by country and may include healthcare coverage, parental leave, retirement plans, relocation support, wellness programs, meal and transportation allowances, and other location-specific perks. Our team is a quickly growing group of committed researchers, engineers, policy experts, and business leaders working together to build beneficial AI systems. About Anthropic Anthropic's mission is to create reliable, interpretable, and steerable AI systems. We want AI to be safe and beneficial for our users and for society as a whole. Our team is a quickly growing group of committed researchers, engineers, policy experts, and business leaders working together to build beneficial AI systems. About Beneficial Deployments Beneficial Deployments ensures AI reaches and benefits the communities that need it most. We partner with nonprofits, foundations, and mission-driven organizations to deploy Claude in education, global health, economic mobility, and life sciences — focusing on raising the floor for those who need it most. About the Role We're looking for an Applied AI Engineer to join our Beneficial Deployments, Life Sciences team. This is a partner-facing role: you'll support nonprofits, research institutes, academic medical centres and public-sector funders as they use Claude to get treatments to patients with rare and neglected diseases, where there is little or no commercial incentive to fund development. The role focuses on clinical development, where we think Claude can help these partners today. Trials in these diseases have small patient populations, investigator-led or nonprofit funding and little operational support, and they often stall on protocol quality, operational risk and site start-up. Claude can help teams design better trials and start them sooner. Much of this work is drug repurposing: testing new uses for approved, usually off-patent or generic medicines, whose known safety profiles can let a good hypothesis reach patients years sooner than a new molecule. You'll advise and embed in partners' teams, building alongside their engineers, scientists and clinicians. Responsibilities Work with partners' trial teams to design, review and prioritise clinical trials with Claude: drafting and reviewing protocols and statistical analysis plans, and flagging enrolment and operational risks. Build and validate tools that help partners find new uses for approved, mostly off-patent medicines in rare and neglected diseases, from literature, omics and patient data, and assemble the evidence so the partner can decide the next step. Build reusable infrastructure other institutions can adopt (MCP servers for biomedical data sources, agent skills, benchmarks grounded in real clinical questions), and feed what you learn in the field back to product, engineering and research. You Might Be a Good Fit If You Have Hands-on clinical development experience: designing, running or analysing clinical trials, or assessing clinical evidence to decide which programmes go forward (for example due diligence or asset evaluation). Drug repurposing work as part of that is a strong plus, as is having contributed to a regulatory submission for a trial. Comfort with biomedical data: literature, omics, and real-world patient data (health records, registries, claims), ideally inside secure or trusted research environments. Strong engineering skills: you can take an LLM-powered tool from prototype to production code, and write evals to measure it. Experience working directly with external partners or customers in a technical role. Clear written and verbal communication: docs other institutes can use without you, and results clinicians trust. A scrappy mentality: you're comfortable in ambiguity, wear several hats, and do what it takes to get a result for a partner. The annual compensation range for this role is listed below. For sales roles, the range provided is the role's On Target Earnings ("OTE") range, meaning that the range includes both the sales commissions/sales bonuses target and annual base salary for the role. Annual Salary: £225,000 — £255,000 GBP Logistics Minimum education: Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience Required field of study: A field relevant to the role as demonstrated through coursework, training, or professional experience Minimum years of experience: Years of experience required will correlate with the internal job level requirements for the position Location-based hybrid policy: Currently, we expect all staff to be in one of our offices at least 25% of the time. However, some roles may require more time in our offices. Visa sponsorship: We do sponsor visas! However, we aren't able to successfully sponsor visas for every role and every candidate. But if we make you an offer, we will make every reasonable effort to get you a visa, and we retain an immigration lawyer to help with this. We encourage you to apply even if you do not believe you meet every single qualification. Not all strong candidates will meet every single qualification as listed. Research shows that people who identify as being from underrepresented groups are more prone to experiencing imposter syndrome and doubting the strength of their candidacy, so we urge you not to exclude yourself prematurely and to submit an application if you're interested in this work. We think AI systems like the ones we're building have enormous social and ethical implications. We think this makes representation even more important, and we strive to include a range of diverse perspectives on our team. Your safety matters to us. To protect yourself from potential scams, remember that Anthropic recruiters only contact you ----- addresses. In some cases, we may partner with vetted recruiting agencies who will identify themselves as working on behalf of Anthropic. Be cautious of emails from other domains. Legitimate Anthropic recruiters will never ask for money, fees, or banking information before your first day. If you're ever unsure about a communication, don't click any links—visit anthropic.com/careers directly for confirmed position openings.
