Solutions Architect f/m/d
ApaleoParis, Germany26 days ago
Full TimeOn-siteMid
gosqlllmrestarchitecturecompliance+6

Apaleo is the world's most open, API-first property management platform powering the next generation of hospitality operations. Its modular, AI-powered infrastructure enables hoteliers to customise their tech stack, automate routine work, and deliver seamless, personalised guest experiences, powered by best-in-class apps and autonomous AI agents that adapt to every stay. Why this role You are the technical voice in front of strategic customers, at a moment when hospitality is being rebuilt around AI. We are launching our own AI agent platform, and we need architects who can show operators what comes next. High trust. You own the technical answer in front of strategic customers and deals. High visibility. Your work shows up in deals, key accounts and customer stories, and it reaches Product. High freedom. You decide how to solve a problem, which tools to use and what to prototype. Fast iteration. We test ideas within days, try new technology early and share what works. Your mission Win and grow strategic accounts with technical credibility, and turn what you learn in the field into input for the product. You look at a customer's current architecture and show how an Apaleo-centred setup delivers their goals. You also help them put AI agents to work, deciding what should be an agent, what it costs and how to set it up. Sales and Account Management own the relationship and the commercial terms. You own the technical answer. What you will do Technical discovery and solution scoping. Lead discovery where a standard demo is not enough. Write clear scopes covering what Apaleo delivers natively, what needs a short-term solution and what is out of scope. Proofs of concept. Build fast, working proofs of concept (quick demos that show technical fit). Agree scope in writing first, and build in a safe test environment, never with live guest data. Agents and automations. Design and build agents and automations for customer use cases, using n8n or Make today and Apaleo's own AI agent platform as it launches. Write code where agents need deterministic steps. Hands-on delivery and short-term solutions. Work alongside the customer, building only where it unblocks a named deal, removes an adoption risk or fills a product gap. Agree an exit plan (an end date, a replacement and a named owner) before you start. Post-sale health checks and expansions. Diagnose gaps against the go-live specification, run proactive checks (for example 90 days after go-live) and scope integrations for expanding customers. Reusable assets. Turn every engagement into a reference architecture, pattern or template that the next twenty customers can use. Thought leadership. Join prospect and customer conversations on how AI will change hospitality over the next two to three years. Product feedback. Test new technology on real customer problems. Share prototypes and field evidence with Product, ending every experiment with a clear decision: adopt, hand over or drop. How you work You decide the approach, the stack and the order of work. You protect three guardrails: written scope before a proof of concept, an exit plan before a custom build and no commercial promises. You go from idea to prototype in days and show it early. You think in systems and build for reuse, not one-off projects. You share findings openly with Sales, Account Management and Product. Who you work with Sales/BD and Account Management (they call you in at defined deal triggers), Customer Success, Product, Security, Partnerships, RevOps and Senior Leadership. What you bring Must have Multiple years in solution architecture, solution engineering or technical consulting in B2B SaaS, ideally with complex software such as ERP or enterprise platforms Strong API skills: REST, authentication, webhooks and events, and data-flow design Hands-on workflow automation (n8n preferred) and practical experience building with LLM agents A systems thinker with real AI curiosity, who uses AI tools day to day Stakeholder management experience and credibility with executives and IT teams Self-direction, an ownership mindset and the discipline to say no to scope that does not advance a deal Curiosity that ends in working prototypes, not just opinions Clear, structured documentation habits Fluent English and French skills Willingness to travel, including regularly to France and the UK Strong plus Hospitality or travel experience, including hotel operations and PMS concepts (reservations, folios, rate plans, night audit) Experience with another cloud PMS, channel manager or payments integrations Enterprise architecture experience on large, multi-site projects Applied AI or ML background, or experience with MCP and agent platforms SQL and BI fundamentals How we measure success Architecture engagements and blueprints delivered each quarter Customer satisfaction with your contribution Adoption of recommended apps, integrations and agents Share of engagements served by an existing reusable pattern Revenue impact e.g. deal unblocked, AI adoption, or churn averted Your first 90 days Days 1 to 30: Learn the platform and ways of working, shadow discovery and proof of concept work, and take over open customer projects. Days 31 to 60: Lead technical discovery on live deals and run your first health check with Account Management. Days 61 to 90: Deliver a proof of concept or short-term solution end to end with an exit plan, and share your first experiment with Product. What We Offer Culture & Growth A Diverse & International Team: Work alongside passionate professionals from over 20 nationalities, bringing unique cultural perspectives, backgrounds, and experiences to shape the future of hospitality tech. Growth & Development: As we scale, so do your opportunities. You'll benefit from 360° feedback reviews, a dedicated learning budget, and plenty of chances to take on more responsibility. Our evolving career framework ensures you have increasing opportunities to learn new skills, advance your career, and make an impact. Autonomy & Ownership: Great ideas can come from anywhere. We empower you to take responsibility, make decisions, and contribute directly in an environment built on trust, transparency, and collaboration. Shape the Future of Hospitality Tech: Be part of a fast-growing scale-up transforming the hospitality industry. From day one, your work drives real impact and you'll have the freedom to bring your ideas to life. Competitive & Fair Compensation: We believe great work deserves great pay. Our salaries are competitive and guided by benchmarking data to ensure fairness across all roles and teams. We make sure to recognize and reward performance and contribution. Perks & Lifestyle Flexible & Remote Work Options: We focus on results, not clocking hours. You can work from home, the office or in a hybrid setup, with flexibility to adapt your schedule as long as it makes sense for your role, your team and our business. Team Connection: Strong connections fuel collaboration. We celebrate and connect through regular team dinners, company meetups, Oktoberfest celebrations, Christmas parties, and other offsite events. Paid Time Off: Enjoy 30 days of vacation to fully disconnect, recharge, and return inspired. Health & Wellbeing: Prioritize your health with access to hundreds of gyms, fitness studios, and wellness options through our EGYM Wellpass membership. Senior Pre- & Post-Sales Customer Engineer, Enterprise
Full TimeOn-siteSenior

The Team + The Role Pendo's Customer Engineering team is the technical backbone of the pre- and post-sales customer motion. The team brings together work across Customer Success, Technical Account Management, and Solutions Engineering into one full-lifecycle technical owner. Customer Engineering helps customers connect technical execution to business outcomes and realize the value of their investment in Pendo. As a Senior Customer Engineer you will own strategic and complex Enterprise accounts across acquisition, implementation, adoption, expansion, and escalation. You will lead technical strategy for complex deployments, resolve ambiguous customer challenges, and partner closely with account teams to drive retention, expansion, and customer value. Your impact will extend beyond your own accounts through playbooks, coaching, repeatable fixes, and workflow improvements that raise the capability of the broader Customer Engineering team. This role is based in our London office. What this looks like day-to-day New customer acquisition and selling: Partner with Account Directors on pre-sales motions for new customer acquisition, product expansion, and growth across lines of business. You identify customer pain, craft and deliver tailored demos, and lead technical evaluations through requirements gathering, success criteria, installation guidance, and hands-on workshops. Quarterly business outcomes: Drive measurable improvement in customer health, retention, expansion, and technical resolution across strategic accounts. You contribute at least one reusable framework, playbook, or process that other Customer Engineers use and become a trusted advisor to Account Directors on account health and technical strategy. Adoption, expansion, and growth: Identify opportunities to expand adoption across underutilized features, untapped products, and new lines of business. When adoption stalls, you diagnose root causes, design a path forward, and connect technical work to measurable business outcomes. Complex implementations and value realization: Lead onboarding for strategic customers, including planning, implementation, integrations, and training. You build customer-specific implementation playbooks, guide complex deployments with executive visibility, and ensure customers realize value during onboarding and over time. Team capability building: Build playbooks, document repeatable fixes, coach peers, and improve how Customer Engineering work gets done across the team. You use AI tools to accelerate content creation, surface patterns across accounts, and share practical workflow findings with the broader team. Early account impact: Assess account health, risks, stakeholder relationships, and the highest-priority problems to solve within your portfolio. You establish trust with Account Directors and customer stakeholders, then independently lead complex customer interactions that move accounts forward. Technical escalation: Serve as an escalation point for complex technical challenges raised by other Customer Engineers. You resolve ambiguous problems with multiple variables and tradeoffs, involving Product or Engineering only when truly needed. Who You Are Beyond the qualifications, we hire through a specific lens. These aren't buzzwords; they're the things we'll actually look for in how you talk about your work. You're a builder, not a maintainer. You're most energized when there isn't a clear path yet, and you get to define it. You don't wait for direction; you identify gaps, shape solutions, and drive them forward. At Pendo, great Senior Customer Engineers don't just follow instructions; they operate as strategic advisors, influencing decisions, guiding stakeholders, and elevating how we work. You're AI-curious - genuinely. You're not using AI tools occasionally. You're rewiring how you work around them. You're faster, sharper, and more prolific because of it, and you bring that energy to everything — how you approach your work, how you prep, how you communicate, how you think. We want someone who sees AI as a multiplier, not a shortcut. Must-haves Passion for working with customers and building strong and impactful customer relationships 5 to 8 years of experience in a customer-facing technical role such as Solutions Engineering, Technical Account Management, Customer Engineering, implementation, professional services, or solutions architecture. Deep hands-on experience with web technologies including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and REST APIs, with the ability to architect and troubleshoot complex front-end implementations. Proven experience managing strategic Enterprise accounts with executive-level stakeholders, competing priorities, and complex technical or business requirements. Demonstrated ability to solve ambiguous problems involving multiple variables, constraints, and tradeoffs. Experience connecting technical execution to business outcomes such as retention, expansion, ROI, and value realization. Hands-on use of AI tools for account research, content creation, or workflow automation, with demonstrated integration into day-to-day work rather than light experimentation. Experience mentoring or coaching more junior technical team members. Nice-to-haves Experience with Pendo, digital adoption platforms, product analytics, or in-app experience tooling in an enterprise environment. Hands-on experience with mobile app development, including Swift, Android, or React Native. Familiarity with data architecture, AI or machine learning concepts, or advanced analytics instrumentation. Track record of building reusable frameworks, playbooks, or processes that were adopted by a broader team. About Pendo Pendo was founded in 2013 by former product managers, who combined their heads and hearts to build something they wanted but never had as product managers: a simple way to understand and attack what truly drives product success. Our mission is to improve society's experience with software. Come join one of the fastest-growing startups, supported by best-in-class institutions like Battery Ventures, Salesforce Ventures, Spark Capital and Meritech. Pendo Core Values: Bias to Act, Hone Your Craft, The Team is Pendo, and Maniacal Focus. Location: Pendo is a hybrid culture. In-office 3 days per week in London, UK Compensation: Our salary ranges are based on paying competitively for our size and industry, and are one part of many compensation, benefits and other reward opportunities we provide. Benefits: Comprehensive, top-tier coverage (medical, dental, life) combined with pension match, equity, and high-value lifestyle perks. EEOC: We are an equal opportunity employer and believe having diverse teams where everyone brings their whole self to Pendo is key to our success. We welcome all people of different backgrounds, experiences, abilities and perspectives. Company Description We're Checkout.com . You might not know our name, but companies like eBay, Spotify, Klarna, Uber, and Sony do, because we're behind many of the digital experiences you use every day. We are where the world checks out, enabling over 10 billion transactions yearly for more than one billion global shoppers. Whether you want to book a holiday, order food, renew a subscription, or check out online, there's a good chance our tech powers the payments behind the scenes. Our platform helps the most ambitious businesses deliver effortless digital experiences, at scale. If you want to do career-defining work, you've come to the right place. We move fast, think globally, and believe great teams are built by hiring exceptional people with conviction, curiosity, and the desire to make an impact. With 20 offices across six continents and London as our HQ, we're shaping the future of fintech – and we're just getting started. The opportunity Checkout.com helps businesses thrive in the digital economy by making payments work better. Within Payment Performance, Data Science is central to how we improve acceptance, reduce payment costs and protect merchants and Checkout from fraud. We are looking for a Data Science leader to bring our Fraud and Acceptance Data Science teams together behind one strategy and way of working. The teams already exist and are building important products. Your job is to help them work as one organization, raise the bar for how models are developed and operated, and turn more of their work into measurable production impact. You will lead a distributed group of Data Scientists working on real-time decisioning at global payments scale. The problems range from fraud detection and adaptive risk strategies to authorization optimization, routing and recovery. The common thread is using machine learning to make better decisions on every payment. This is a player-coach role. You will set direction and develop the organization, but remain close enough to the work to challenge technical choices, lead design reviews and contribute directly when the problem calls for it. What you'll do Set the Data Science strategy Create one Data Science strategy across fraud and payment optimization, connected to the wider Payment Performance vision. Decide where we should invest across models, data, experimentation and shared capabilities to create the greatest business impact. Build common technical standards and ways of working without forcing different problem domains into the same approach. Identify where new scientific methods or data assets could create a lasting competitive advantage. Turn models into production impact Own the end-to-end model lifecycle, from problem framing and experimentation through evaluation, launch and production performance. Improve measurable outcomes across fraud, acceptance and payment cost, with models that operate safely and reliably at scale. Ensure teams optimize for business and merchant outcomes rather than research output or offline model metrics alone. Raise the standard for experimentation, explainability, monitoring, drift detection and model iteration. Work with Engineering to make productionization a shared responsibility: Data Science owns model performance, while Engineering owns platform reliability and deployment infrastructure. Partner with Product and Engineering Jointly prioritize the roadmap with the Fraud and Intelligent Acceptance Group Product Managers. Ensure Product owns merchant problems, desired outcomes and commercial trade-offs, while Data Science owns scientific direction, model quality and technical standards. Translate complex scientific choices into clear product, customer and investment decisions. Partner with Engineering leaders on the architecture and capabilities needed for low-latency, resilient ML systems. Spend time with merchants when direct technical engagement can uncover a better problem, build confidence or demonstrate value. Lead and grow the organization Lead, coach and develop Data Scientists across Fraud and Acceptance, initially managing much of the team directly. Create clear ownership, goals and development paths across a distributed organization. Develop future domain leads who can take on more day-to-day technical and people leadership as the teams grow. Hire exceptional scientists and build a culture that combines scientific rigor, pace, curiosity and accountability. Create an environment where senior scientists can challenge assumptions, do their best work and connect it to outcomes that matter. Stay close to the science Act as a technical sounding board for senior scientists across modelling, experimentation and ML-system design. Lead or contribute to design reviews, prototypes and selected analyses where your involvement can materially improve the outcome. Challenge teams to choose practical methods that fit the business problem, rather than defaulting to the most complex approach. Keep the organization current on developments in applied AI and machine learning, and translate relevant advances into production opportunities. What success looks like In your first 12–18 months, you will have: United the Fraud and Acceptance teams behind one Data Science strategy and operating model. Improved the production impact of models across fraud, acceptance and cost optimization. Established clear decision rights and an effective joint roadmap with Product and Engineering. Raised standards for model development, productionization, monitoring and measurement. Created stronger consistency across the teams while preserving the expertise each domain requires. Developed future technical and people leaders who can support the organization as it grows. What we're looking for Essential A strong record of leading Data Scientists who build real-time or high-scale machine-learning products. Deep technical judgment across applied machine learning, experimentation, model evaluation and production ML systems. Experience taking models beyond notebooks and offline metrics into reliable products with measurable business impact. The ability to coach scientists at different levels and challenge senior technical contributors with credibility. Proven success leading distributed teams through change, ambiguity and growth. Strong product judgment: you can connect scientific work to customer problems, commercial trade-offs and company strategy. The confidence to influence senior leaders, challenge priorities and explain complex technical ideas in simple language. A practical, curious mindset and a bias toward shipping, learning and improving. We care more about the scale and impact of the systems and teams you have led than a fixed number of years in a particular title. Valuable, but not required Experience in payment fraud, authorization optimization, routing, recommendations or another real-time decisioning domain. Knowledge of highly imbalanced classification, anomaly detection, graph methods, reinforcement learning or adaptive optimization. Experience building low-latency models in regulated or financially sensitive environments. Familiarity with causal inference, online experimentation and measuring incremental model impact. Experience developing first-line managers or technical leads within a growing Data Science organization. How we work This role is based in London and follows Checkout.com 's hybrid working model. You will lead colleagues across Europe and Tel Aviv, with occasional travel for team and product planning. You will report to the Senior Director, Product and work closely with leaders across Product, Engineering, Analytics and Commercial within Payment Performance. Additional Information Bring all of you to work We create the conditions for high performers to thrive, through real ownership, fewer blockers, and work that makes a difference from day one. Here, you'll move fast, take on meaningful challenges, and be recognized for the impact you deliver. It's a place where ambition gets met with opportunity, and where your growth is in your hands. We work as one team, and we back each other to succeed. So whatever your background or identity, if you're ready to grow and make a difference, you'll be right at home here. It's important we set you up for success and make our process as accessible as possible. So let us know in your application, or tell your recruiter directly, if you need anything to make your experience or working environment more comfortable. Life at Checkout.com We understand that work is just one part of your life. Our hybrid working model offers flexibility, with three days per week in the office to support collaboration and connection. Curious about what it's like to be part of our team? Your mission This is not a normal job. Please read this part before you read anything else. If you are highly driven, extremely ambitious, and you want to do the work of your life at a company that will change how people get access to new therapies and shared medical knowledge, mama health is the place for you. If not, this role is not for you. This is why: You will be in the office 5 days a week. Berlin HQ. Not hybrid. Not "flexible". We build together, in the same room, every day. You will work a lot. More than at most jobs. We do not count hours, we count what we ship and what it changes for patients. You will give some of the best years of your life to this. In return, you get ownership, speed, and a problem worth your time. You will get obsessed with metrics. Not dashboards for a weekly meeting. Real obsession: why did this number move, what does it mean for a patient, what do we change tomorrow. Why do we ask this much? Because today, patients spend years to reach the right therapy. We want to help every patient reach their best possible care faster: understand their own situation, get clear information about it, and get access to the best tools, therapies, and treatments in the world. This is generational work not work for everyone. It will change your life and the lives of millions of other people. This role is built to grow into Head of Product. How fast depends on you. - - - - - As a Product Manager at mama health, you will shape and execute product of one of the most exciting AI companies in healthcare. You will work closely with the founders, engineers, designers, and medical experts to build products that help patients understand their diseases, and that help healthcare organizations learn directly from patient experiences at scale. This is an execution role. You will be expected to take ownership, turn ambitious goals into shipped products, and keep a high pace. You will be responsible for driving product development from idea to launch while ensuring alignment across teams and maintaining a high pace of execution. You will: Own product initiatives from discovery to delivery and iteration Write your own SQL queries, build your own analyses, and find the "why" behind every metric Define success metrics for everything you ship, and own the result Translate company goals into clear priorities, roadmaps, and execution plans Work closely with engineering, design, AI, and medical teams to ship high-quality products on time Drive day-to-day execution, remove blockers, and keep projects on track Talk to patients and customers, and turn what you learn into product improvements Write product requirements and user stories Help build product processes that scale as we grow Your profile 1 to 3 years of experience in a product role (Product Manager, Associate PM, Product Analyst, Product Owner, or a founder who shipped a real product) Hands-on experience with SQL and analytics tools (for example Metabase, Amplitude, Mixpanel, Looker, or similar). You do not wait for a data team to answer your questions. Proof that you ship: products, features, side projects, anything real Highly driven, proactive, and execution-oriented. You do more than people ask. Strong analytical thinking and problem solving You learn fast and you like to be out of your comfort zone Clear communication with engineers, designers, and business people Fluent English is required. German is a nice to have. Experience in AI, healthcare, digital health, or SaaS is a nice to have. Based in Berlin or ready to relocate fast. Why us? A real path to Head of Product. We hire for where you can be in 2 years, not only for where you are today. Ownership from day one. You will not wait for permission to do important work. A mission that matters. Every metric you move is a patient who gets better information, faster. A team that plays hard too. Regular team events, sports benefits, shared learning, and our annual team retreat. When you join our team, you'll be part of a forward-thinking company that values integrity, collaboration and results-driven work. Join us and be part of a mission-driven organization dedicated to improving healthcare outcomes. Find more English Speaking Jobs in Germany on Arbeitnow
