Product Architect
BlendUnited States (Fully Remote)40 days ago
ContractFully RemoteMid$118,000 - $139,000 / Year

Blend is a diverse team of problem solvers who believe that the world's financial resources should be more accessible. Our cloud banking platform is used by Wells Fargo, U.S. Bank, and over 330 other financial services firms to acquire more customers, increase productivity, and deliver end-to-end digital experiences. Our software enables our customers to process an average of more than $5 billion in loans per day, making it possible for consumers to reach their financial goals faster and lead better lives. Come do work that matters.   Note: This role's initial assignment is serving as the dedicated product owner for a contracted enterprise client build. This will allow the Team Member to learn the product deeply. Scope of that assignment (partial vs. full-time) is subject to the final Statement of Work. ROLE OVERVIEW Our fastest-growing home lending product line delivers streamlined digital origination, taking borrowers from application to a qualified, rate-locked loan in a single digital flow. Deployments range from out-of-the-box to highly customized builds for major banks and credit unions. Every lender runs origination a little differently, and our platform is built to flex to that. We need a Product Architect to step in and advise clients on what's standard, what's configurable, what's custom, and what we won't build, and to turn that guidance into a repeatable discovery process the whole go-to-market team can run. This is a forward-deployed role — you work where the client is, embedded in their process, backed by our engineering and product teams. What you learn in daily client conversations should shape how we package and price the product as our product lines converge onto a single platform. INITIAL ASSIGNMENT: DEDICATED PRODUCT OWNER, ENTERPRISE CLIENT BUILD We are contracting with a major enterprise client for a highly customized build on this product line, and the contract calls for a dedicated product owner. The first assignment for this role is owning that build: gathering and iterating requirements directly with the client, running the backlog with our globally distributed engineering team, and working day to day with the product team. Owning a complex build end-to-end is the fastest way to build deep product knowledge — the configuration model, the integration points, where custom work gets expensive — and that knowledge is exactly what the advisory side of this role requires. MISSION Own the technical product relationship with clients on this product line, from first pre-sales conversation through post-implementation. Advise clients on solution design during discovery and before contract signature, translate their needs into buildable requirements during delivery, and bring what you learn back into product strategy, packaging, and pricing. RESPONSIBILITIES Serve as the dedicated product owner for a contracted custom client build, owning requirements, backlog, and sprint execution with our globally distributed engineering team  Advise prospects through pre-sales discovery, guiding component selection and setting clear expectations on what's standard, what's custom, and what we won't build Make discovery repeatable by building the discovery questions, scoping method, and gap-analysis template that account executives, sales engineers, and deployment leads can run themselves on standard deals Support pre-sales on scoping, technical feasibility, solution design, and proposals for both standard and high-touch deployments Hand structured, buildable requirements to product owners for execution, with clear ownership so requirements are owned once Stay engaged after go-live on stabilization, adoption, and expansion opportunities Bring client signal into packaging and pricing decisions as we move toward a base-product-plus-add-ons model and converge our home lending product lines onto a single platform KEY PARTNERSHIPS Home lending product leadership (reporting relationship) Product owners, on backlog execution and sprint operations Pre-sales and solutions engineering Globally distributed engineering teams Delivery leads and customer success managers on active client programs PROFILE Technical depth plus product sense; equally at home in an architecture conversation with client engineers and a roadmap conversation with client executives Experience in a client-facing technical product role such as solutions architecture, technical product management, or implementation consulting Mortgage or fintech background strongly preferred; home equity and refinance domain knowledge is a significant advantage Self-starter who is comfortable with ambiguity; this is a strategic individual contributor role that helps define where we're going, not just operate inside today's setup Writes requirements engineering can build from without rework Comfortable working across global time zones and traveling to client sites as programs require (travel required)   Compensation: Base Salary Range: $118,000 – $139,000 (This applies to full time hires. Final offer determined by multiple factors, including but not limited to function, level, geographic location, job related knowledge, skills, and experience.) Bonus (if applicable):  Eligibility is contingent upon both company performance against established goals and achievement of individual performance objectives. Equity :  Meaningful Restricted Stock Units in public company stock (NYSE: BLND) so you share in Blend's long-term growth and success. Our Benefits at a Glance We offer a comprehensive and competitive benefits package designed to support your health and work-life balance. Health & Wellbeing We offer medical, dental, and vision benefits, with a generous employer contribution that helps keep your medical insurance costs low. Company-paid life, short-term, and long-term disability coverage Generous PTO, holidays, and maternity/parental leave Employee Assistance Program (EAP): mental health, legal, childcare & eldercare, financial planning, college search, and more Voluntary benefits: accident, critical illness, hospital indemnity, identity theft, and legal insurance Monthly wellness stipend for fitness, mental health, and well-being Additional perks: Milk Stork, pet insurance, and paid volunteer time off Growth & Future 401(k) retirement plan with company match Pre-tax savings: healthcare & dependent care FSAs, Limited Purpose FSA, and HSA

Our Mission You call. You wait. You call again. In every other part of your life, you book in seconds. In healthcare, you're blocked.   We're here to give power to the patient.  For nearly 20 years, we've built the leading healthcare marketplace - helping tens of millions of people find and book the care they need. Now, we're going further: building our infrastructure beyond Zocdoc's marketplace to power access to care wherever patients search, from provider websites and insurance directories to search engines, AI platforms, and more. Healthcare still lacks something every other major consumer industry takes for granted: a seamless way to go from seeking to getting . We don't want to own the front door to care; there isn't one. We want to make sure all of those doors open when patients are knocking. Fixing healthcare starts with fixing access to it. And we're still just getting started.   Your impact on our mission Our revenue and customer-facing teams are the backbone of our growth and the face of our brand. As the Senior Manager, GTM Recruiting, you will play a pivotal role in leading talent acquisition for our Sales, Customer Experience, and supporting operational functions (including RevOps, Account Management, and Enablement).  You will act as a strategic advisor and thought partner to our C-Suite and senior revenue leaders, helping translate high-level business goals into precise workforce plans, headcount forecasts, and proactive talent pipelines. In this role, you will lead, mentor, and elevate a team of engaged recruiters, creating a supportive and high-performing culture. By setting and defending an exceptional talent bar, you ensure every new hire directly contributes to revenue growth and an outstanding customer experience.   You'll enjoy this role if you are… A Strategic Executive Partner: You view recruiting as a core business function. You enjoy sitting down with leaders to challenge assumptions, guide talent strategy, and align hiring targets with business revenue goals. A Builder and Talent Architect: You love designing structured, objective hiring practices that raise the bar. You enjoy analyzing team mechanics and thinking through workforce capacity, headcount forecasting, and ideal operating models. A Coach and People Developer: You find genuine joy in mentoring recruiters, fostering a high-trust culture, and driving sustainable growth. You know when to coach, when to give feedback, and how to make tough performance management decisions with empathy and respect. Data-Driven and Process-Oriented: You believe that data creates accountability and drives better strategy. You naturally blend analytical rigor with intuition to optimize pass-through rates, time-to-fill, and candidate velocity across the funnel. Driven by Ownership and Humility: You operate with high autonomy, hold yourself and your team to rigorous standards, and treat every candidate, stakeholder, and peer with dignity and respect.   Your day-to-day is… Executive Partnership & Planning: Partnering directly with GTM leaders, RevOps, and Finance to build multi-quarter headcount forecasts, model capacity, and define profiles for revenue-generating and customer-facing teams. Defending the Talent Bar: Building and refining competency-based evaluation frameworks, structured interview kits, and scorecard criteria to ensure every hire - from individual contributor AEs to Director-level leaders - raises team quality. Team Leadership & Development: Coaching, mentoring, and managing a team of full-cycle recruiters. You'll manage capacity, conduct performance development, and maintain a high-performing, inclusive team culture. Operational Strategy & Model Optimization: Continually evaluating operational efficiency and recruiter workflows. You will assess when and how to evolve our team structure (such as evaluating a split between specialized sourcers and full-cycle recruiters) as hiring volume dictates. Leadership Search Oversight: Guiding experienced recruiters on the team as they run high-visibility leadership searches (Manager through Senior Director levels) across Sales and CX, while serving as the primary liaison when partnering with external agency partners. Data & Funnel Analytics: Tracking, analyzing, and presenting key recruitment metrics (pipeline velocity, conversion rates, source mix, and offer acceptance) to executive leadership to highlight successes and proactively eliminate bottlenecks.   You'll be successful in this role if you have… Urgency & Bias for Action: You understand the operational impact of open sales quotas and delayed customer support ramps; you move intentionally, strategically, and quickly. 8+ years of total recruiting experience, with a focus on in-house talent acquisition supporting fast-paced Sales, Customer Experience (CX), Customer Success, or Revenue Operations teams. 3+ years of direct people management experience, with a proven history of coaching, mentoring, and developing recruiters. Executive Presence & Influence: Demonstrated experience directly advising, partnering with, and constructively challenging C-Suite and senior executive stakeholders on headcount planning and hiring profiles.
