As BWE's DevOps Engineer, you own how software gets built, tested, and released. BWE's AI and Data teams are producing custom applications, agents, and integrations faster than they can safely deploy them, and this role is the delivery path: pipelines, packaging, environments, and the automation that makes releases repeatable, reversible, and auditable. You work across an Azure and Microsoft 365 environment in a regulated commercial real estate finance business, where every change needs a record. This is a builder's role for an engineer who would rather automate a release than perform one. Primary Responsibilities Build and Release Engineering: Own the build, test, and release path for BWE's custom applications and integrations so changes reach production on a predictable, repeatable cadence. CI/CD Pipelines: Build and maintain pipelines that lint, test, validate, and deploy application code and configuration, with automated quality gates ahead of production. Software Packaging and Deployment: Package and deploy custom applications and internal tooling across environments, including versioning, rollback, and release documentation. Environment Management: Provision and maintain development, test, and production environments, including configuration, secrets management, and promotion between environments. Infrastructure as Code: Define infrastructure and platform state declaratively, keep it in version control, and deploy it through an automated, peer-reviewed process. Source Control Standards: Establish and maintain Git workflow standards across BWE development work, including branching, pull request review, and release traceability. AI Application Delivery: Provide the delivery path for AI-developed applications, including deployment of agents, integrations, and MCP connectors into supported environments. Developer Enablement: Support the AI and Data teams in adopting source control, review, and deployment practices, and remove manual steps between working code and production. Platform Integration: Integrate systems through REST APIs, webhooks, and event-driven automation so data moves between platforms without manual re-entry. Pipeline Security: Implement code scanning, dependency, and software supply chain controls in the pipeline against standards set with Information Security. Observability: Instrument applications and pipelines with monitoring, alerting, and dashboards covering deployment health, failure rates, and time to recover. Change Evidence: Produce change history, approval records, and deployment evidence sufficient for agency, rating agency, and client review. Platform Escalation: Serve as Tier 3 escalation for the pipelines, environments, and deployment tooling this role owns. Minimum Qualifications 5+ years in DevOps, platform engineering, or software delivery, with hands-on responsibility for production deployments. Demonstrated experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines for application code, not only scripts and configuration. Strong proficiency with Git-based workflows, including branching, pull request review, and release tagging. Hands-on experience with infrastructure as code and declarative configuration management. Strong automation ability in Python, PowerShell, or equivalent, including building against REST APIs. Experience managing application environments, including secrets management and promotion between environments. Experience deploying to Azure or an equivalent cloud platform. Experience producing change and deployment records suitable for audit or compliance review. Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent practical experience. Preferred Qualifications Experience helping data or AI engineering teams move prototypes into supported production services. Experience integrating LLM applications, agents, or MCP connectors into enterprise environments. Experience with Databricks, Microsoft Foundry, or comparable data and AI platforms. Experience with containerization and orchestration, or running automation as event-driven services. Experience with Microsoft 365 and Entra ID, including service principals and application registrations. Experience in financial services or another regulated industry. Certifications such as Azure DevOps Engineer Expert or equivalent. We encourage you to explore the career opportunities we have available here at BWE! Please note, BWE will not sponsor applicants for this position for immigration benefits, including but not limited to assisting with obtaining work permission for F-1 students, H-1B professionals, O-1 workers, TN workers, E-3 workers, among other immigration statuses.
