Analytics Engineer (Senior)
Sprinter HealthMenlo Park, United States63 days ago
Full TimeOn-siteMid

Analytics Engineer About Sprinter Health At Sprinter Health, our mission is reimagining how people access care by bringing it directly to their homes. Nearly 30% of patients in the U.S. skip preventive or chronic care simply because they can't get to a doctor's office. For many, the ER becomes their first touchpoint with the healthcare system, driving over $300B in avoidable costs every year. By using the same technologies that power leading marketplace and last-mile platforms, we deliver care where people are, especially those who need it most. So far, we've supported more than 2 million patients across 22 states, completed 130,000+ in-home visits, and maintained a 92 NPS. Our team of clinicians, technologists, and operators has raised over $125M from investors like a16z, General Catalyst, GV, and Accel and enjoys multi-year runway. About The Role We're looking for an Analytics Engineer to build the trusted data layer that analysts, data scientists, operations, finance, product, and our payer customers depend on. At Sprinter, data is central to how we operate, measure performance, serve patients, and support our health plan partners. This role will own the canonical models, metric definitions, transformation logic, documentation, and tests that make our data reliable and reusable across the company. You'll help define what each table, field, and metric means, then build the infrastructure that ensures those definitions are consistently applied. That includes modeling data in dbt or equivalent tooling, creating reporting-ready tables, improving lineage and documentation, reconciling metrics across teams, and helping prevent the kind of data drift and metric chaos that slows companies down as they scale. This role is ideal for someone who treats metric definitions as product artifacts, thinks in contracts and tests, and cares deeply about making data trustworthy for both internal users and external customers. Office Location We are a hybrid company based in the Bay Area with offices in both San Francisco and Menlo Park. We operate on a hybrid schedule, working from the office Monday through Thursday, with Fridays designated as work-from-anywhere days. We care deeply about work-life balance and are happy to provide flexibility when life happens. We ask that employees be in the office Monday through Thursday to collaborate with their teams while maintaining flexibility where it matters most. Lunch is provided every day, and the entire team takes an hour to eat together. It's one of the ways we stay connected outside of meetings. You'll usually find us playing a board game before getting back to work. What you will do Build canonical data models that create a shared source of truth across the company Define and maintain core business, operational, financial, product, and customer-facing metrics Model data in dbt or equivalent transformation tooling so dashboards, self-serve analytics, and customer reports pull from trusted tables Write tests, documentation, and data quality checks that catch issues before they reach users Create clear definitions for tables, fields, and metrics so teams understand what the data means and when to use it Reconcile metric definitions across internal teams, external reporting needs, and payer customer expectations Trace data lineage and debug dashboards, reports, or tables that change unexpectedly Partner with analysts, data scientists, operations, finance, product, engineering, and customer-facing teams to understand data needs and translate them into reliable models Help build reusable reporting frameworks that make onboarding new payers faster and less manual Partner with the data platform team to evolve warehouse tables, improve data architecture, and strengthen data contracts Improve warehouse cost, performance, and maintainability Support PHI-aware data access patterns and help ensure sensitive healthcare data is modeled and used responsibly What you have done Built analytics engineering, business intelligence, or data modeling systems in a production cloud warehouse environment Written expert-level SQL and designed data models that support reporting, analysis, and decision-making Worked with dbt or an equivalent transformation framework Built tested, documented, reusable data models rather than one-off queries Defined, maintained, or reconciled business-critical metrics across teams Partnered with analysts, data scientists, operators, finance teams, product teams, or customer-facing stakeholders Debugged data quality issues, dashboard changes, metric discrepancies, and lineage problems Worked with cloud data warehouses such as BigQuery, Snowflake, Redshift, Databricks SQL, or similar Balanced speed, correctness, usability, and maintainability when building data assets Communicated clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders about what data means and how it should be used What gives you an edge You have experience with healthcare data, claims data, EHR data, payer data, provider data, or other complex healthcare datasets You've worked with PHI, HIPAA-aware data access patterns, or other sensitive regulated data You have experience building customer-facing reporting, embedded analytics, or multi-tenant data models You've worked with row-level security, access controls, or governed self-serve analytics You have experience using Python for analysis, scripting, data validation, or automation You've helped establish a semantic layer, metrics layer, or company-wide source of truth You've built data models in a high-growth startup or operationally complex environment You have experience improving warehouse performance, cost, and query efficiency What makes you successful You treat a metric definition as a product artifact, not a Slack thread You make data trustworthy, reusable, and easy to understand You prevent metric chaos by building clear definitions, tests, and documentation You build so that a fix in one place does not require five copy-paste edits elsewhere You understand that internal users and external customers both need data they can trust You care about the usability of the data model, not just whether the pipeline runs You can explain data discrepancies clearly and drive teams toward shared definitions You build foundations that help the company move faster with more confidence Day to Day In This Role, You Might Spend Your Time Building or refactoring dbt models Adding tests to core tables Defining canonical fields and documenting how they should be used Reviewing metric definitions and reconciling them across teams Debugging a dashboard, report, or customer-facing metric that changed unexpectedly Tracing lineage from source systems through warehouse models to downstream reports Partnering with analysts, operators, finance, product, or customer-facing teams on reporting needs Improving warehouse performance, cost, and maintainability Designing reusable reporting structures that make new payer launches easier The Interview Process We aim to complete the interview process within 2–3 weeks. It will usually consist of: Recruiter Screen: Background fit, motivation, and compensation alignment Hiring Manager Interview: Analytics engineering experience, data modeling depth, and stakeholder partnership Hands-on Technical Assessment: SQL, data modeling, metric design, and practical analytics engineering judgment Onsite Interview: Technical case study, systems/data modeling discussion, behavioral interview, and lunch with the team References: Validation of performance, judgment, and working style What we offer Meaningful pre-IPO equity Medical, dental, and vision plans 100% paid for you and your dependents Flexible PTO + 10 paid holidays per year 401(k) with match 16-week parental leave policy for birthing parent, 8 weeks for all other parents HSA + FSA contributions Life insurance, plus short and long-term disability coverage Free daily lunch in-office Annual learning stipend Relocation assistance Equal Opportunity Statement Sprinter Health is an equal opportunity employer. We value diversity at our company. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, color, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, marital status, veteran status, disability status, or other protected classes. Beware of recruitment fraud and scams that involve fictitious job descriptions followed by false job offers. If you are applying for a job, you can confirm the legitimacy of a job posting by viewing current open roles on our official Sprinter Health Careers website. All legitimate job postings will require an application to be made directly on our official Sprinter Health Careers website. Sr Analytics Engineer
AceableAustin, United States8 days ago
Full TimeOn-siteMid$140,000 - $154,000 / Year
pythonci/cdsqlsnowflakedbtdata engineering+8

ABOUT THIS POSITION Aceable is looking for a Sr Analytics Engineer who likes solving holistic data problems. This is a hands-on role that sits on a small team at the intersection of Data Engineering and Business Intelligence. In this role, you'll be empowered to solve high-visibility data architecture and pipeline problems from beginning to end. One week you might build a new data pipeline or troubleshoot why data isn't landing where it should. The next week, you could be designing a dbt model, creating a semantic view or AI agent in Snowflake, building a Power BI dashboard, or partnering with a stakeholder to turn a fuzzy business question into a data product people can actually trust and use. We don't expect you to be an expert in every tool we use. We do expect meaningful technical depth in multiple areas, strong problem-solving instincts, experience and excitement around AI, and the curiosity to jump into unfamiliar territory when the problem calls for it. If you like variety, autonomy, solving messy problems, and building things from source data all the way through to the person making the decision, you will love working with us. WHAT YOU'LL DO Own data products end to end. Take a problem from source data all the way through to the dashboard, metric, or workflow someone actually makes a decision with. Design, build, test, deploy, and maintain the whole path rather than handing it off at each layer. Turn fuzzy questions into things people trust. Work directly with partners in Marketing, Product, Finance, and Engineering to figure out what they're really asking, then build something reliable and maintainable enough that they stop asking you and just use it. Own quality from source to screen. Build the testing, documentation, monitoring, and data quality controls that keep trust high, and when something breaks, chase it wherever it actually lives: pipeline, transformation, model, metric, or report. Leave the platform better than you found it. Improve architecture, simplify workflows, and automate repetitive work, including using AI well to move faster on coding, investigation, testing, and documentation, while holding the line on accuracy and human review. WHAT YOU'LL NEED 7+ years of experience in Analytics Engineering, Data Engineering, Business Intelligence Engineering, or a similarly technical data role Advanced SQL and hands-on experience building production-scale transformations in a cloud data warehouse, ideally Snowflake, dbt, and GitHub or close equivalents A strong understanding of dimensional modeling, data marts, data quality testing, documentation, version control, code review, and software development lifecycle practices Experience with at least one data integration, ETL/ELT, orchestration, or event-data platform, plus a solid understanding of how data moves from source systems through transformation and into downstream reporting Experience building semantic models, DAX measurements, dashboards, and self-service data products using Power BI or an equivalent modern BI platform The ability and judgment to take a highly ambiguous business problem, ask the right questions, and turn it into something reliable and maintainable, plus the communication skills to do that with deeply technical partners and stakeholders who just need the data to make sense Experience building semantic layers, AI agents, or automated workflows that support generative AI and natural-language analytics and a willingness to use AI responsibly to accelerate technical work, automate repeatable processes, and continuously expand your capabilities BONUS POINTS Hands-on experience with Matillion or Segment Experience supporting digital event instrumentation and transforming customer journey, product usage, and marketing data into trusted, analytics-ready datasets, especially in support of Marketing, Product, Finance, or executive decision-making Familiarity with APIs, JSON, Python, Git, CI/CD, and automated deployment workflows Experience with data observability, lineage, governance, privacy, role-based access, and warehouse cost optimization ABOUT ACEABLE Aceable has helped 20 million people get licensed in driver's ed, real estate, insurance, and mortgage. Behind every license is a first car, a new career, a fresh start. Making those moments possible is why we built Aceable. We're profitable, growing, and investing heavily in AI to make licensing education better. Our courses are mobile-first, fully accredited, and built around one obsessive question: what's the most effective and engaging way to get someone to actually learn this? We're proud that our students consistently outperform competitors on pass rates. We move fast, ship to real students in weeks, and give our people genuine end-to-end ownership. If you want to build something that directly helps people start new careers (and have fun doing it) you're going to fit right in. ABOUT THE BUSINESS INTELLIGENCE & DATA ENGINEERING TEAM The Business Intelligence & Data Engineering team builds and supports the data products that help Aceable understand performance, make informed decisions, and operate more effectively. Our work spans data ingestion and event instrumentation, cloud data infrastructure, transformation and modeling, business intelligence, self-service analytics, and AI-enabled data experiences. We are a small, highly collaborative team that values end-to-end ownership over rigid functional handoffs. Team members bring different areas of technical depth, but work together across the data lifecycle to deliver trusted, scalable solutions. We partner closely with teams throughout Aceable, including Marketing, Product, Finance, Operations, and Engineering, and are continually looking for ways to use AI and automation to increase our impact. ACEABLE PERKS Join one of Austin's Best Places to Work in 2024 & 2025 Competitive total rewards (base salary + bonus/stock options, if applicable) 401k match Robust medical, dental, and vision benefits Generous paid time off programs + 19 paid holidays per year Flexible work schedule Wellness programs Our own space on the top floor of a downtown Austin building with free parking Weekly lunch, a fully stocked fridge, and plentiful snacks Company events and activities (holiday events, happy hours, volunteering) #PursueGrowth Reimbursement ($600 per year for full-time employees) Free Roadside Assistance subscription Passionate teammates excited to help you succeed and learn NOTE: Our team is currently working in a hybrid work environment with flexibility to work in office or remote based on role/department and location At Aceable we celebrate and support all differences. About Mesh At Mesh, our mission is to enable consumers to pay and be paid with any asset. Today, trillions of dollars in tokenized assets exist but remain largely unusable for everyday commerce. Mesh is bridging this gap by making crypto payments reliable, useful, and ubiquitous. We combine a powerful orchestration engine with a seamless consumer app to unlock liquidity for the world. Backed by leading investors like SBI, Money Forward, Paradigm, Dragonfly, Galaxy, and PayPal Ventures, we are building the infrastructure for the next era of the global economy. Join us! Overview Mesh moves money across hundreds of exchanges, wallets and chains. The data that flow generates is now a product in its own right: clients want to see their conversion, volume and settlement data, Finance needs reporting they can sign, and our own teams answer most questions by asking an AI agent instead of filing a ticket. You'll own how we define, instrument, validate and ship that data, working hands-on in SQL and Python and building the guardrails that let AI agents query our data safely. What You'll Do Own product and client analytics. Define core metrics (conversion rates, transaction success rates) and maintain the central Amplitude data with reusable, templated charts. Build internal and external dashboards for clients. Run experiment readouts. Baseline and read out A/B tests on the flow (UI variants, algorithms) and turn results into product decisions. Prove migrations with data. Build apples-to-apples comparisons between platforms so decisions move on evidence, not gut feel. Guard data integrity. Run and automate daily reconciliation triage and the verification engine. Shape instrumentation. Define backend event schemas and the tracking plan, and normalize fields so the data is clean enough for analytics. Build finance-grade reporting. Deliver settlement and billing reporting on Microsoft Fabric / Power BI with parity validation, alerting and self-serve access for Finance. Make data AI-native. Build skills and tools for our internal data agent, log and audit agent-generated SQL, and keep the self-serve data channels accurate. Turn data into client products. Help shape self-serve reporting, reconciliation and billing exports that clients pay for. Who You Are Expert in SQL (T-SQL / SQL Server and Spark SQL a plus) and solid in Python Hands-on with product analytics (Amplitude, Mixpanel or similar), including event design and funnel/CVR modeling Comfortable with experiment design and statistics for A/B readouts Experienced building data quality checks, reconciliations or backfills on production data In the habit of validating numbers against source systems before anyone else sees them A clear writer who can explain a data issue to an engineer, a CRO and a client in the same day A daily user of AI coding and analysis tools ~3+ years in analytics or data engineering ~5+ years with end-to-end ownership of a data domain. The compensation range provided may span multiple career levels and will be narrowed during the interview process based on factors including a candidate's experience, skills, qualifications, and geographic location. For candidates outside of New York or San Francisco, compensation will be adjusted to reflect the applicable market and location-based pay band. The base salary range listed excludes commission (if applicable), equity, and benefits. The pay range represents the minimum and maximum target for new-hire compensation. Actual compensation may vary and may be higher or lower depending on individual circumstances. Pay Range $180,000 - $200,000 USD Why You'll Love It Here At Mesh, you're not stepping into a typical role—you're joining a rocket ship in mid-liftoff. You'll tackle complex, meaningful problems that actually move an industry forward, working alongside a sharp, motivated team that moves quickly, collaborates deeply, and expects everyone to operate with ownership. This is the kind of place where you'll see your work ship fast, make real impact, and be able to point to something and say, "I built that." You'll grow fast, level up your skills, and get a front-row seat to how a high-growth company scales from the inside, with competitive comp, solid benefits, and room to stretch your craft all coming standard. If you're energized by building, learning, and shaping something big—this is where you'll want to be. In-Office Expectations Employees based in our San Francisco, New York, and Bangalore hubs are expected to work from the office at least 40% of the time (approximately two days per week). This expectation may vary slightly depending on role, team, and business needs. Certain roles that require closer cross-functional collaboration or operational support may have additional in-office requirements, which will be discussed during the interview process. Our hybrid approach is designed to balance meaningful in-person collaboration, team building, and real-time decision-making with the flexibility to work remotely. We believe this structure supports strong execution while preserving autonomy and focus time. How We Care For Our Team We believe great work happens when people feel valued and supported. That starts with competitive salary and equity that grows as you and the company grow, plus comprehensive health coverage for you and your family. We offer unlimited PTO—and we mean it. Take the time you need to recharge and show up at your best. We're invested in your growth with a dedicated budget for courses, conferences, and certifications.
