About the role Datadog employs roughly 8,100 people across 35 countries through global subsidiaries, all under a Nevada parent. Some are operating companies. Others came to us through acquisitions. We open in new markets often enough that the structure is always moving, and we manage it in Diligent Entities. This role owns it. The work is entity formation and maintenance in many jurisdictions, corporate records and statutory filings, and daily coordination with the Finance, Tax and People teams. You will deal directly with government agencies, registries, registered agents and local counsel around the world. You will also be the person the rest of the company asks whenever a question touches our corporate structure. The role sits in Legal Operations, and you will report to our Senior Director, Legal Operations, who has supported entity management operations in the past. Our Associate General Counsel, Corporate & Securities owns the work product and sets the standards for entity management and for our securities filings. Legal Operations runs the function; Corporate & Securities owns the substance. The placement also gives you breadth. Legal Operations covers legal technology and systems, process design, outside counsel and spend operations, restricted party and sanctions screening, product legal support, and the department's AI work. We expect to cross-train you across those areas over time, and to cross-train colleagues into entity work. Entity management will remain the substantial majority of this job. On AI in particular, Legal Operations is where most of that work happens for the legal department. We look at how our current tools could be used better, we assess new ones, and we look for ways to extend AI into systems that were never built with it in mind. If you look at a manual process and wonder whether software should be doing it, there is room here for that. On the securities side of the role You will also handle Section 16 filings (Forms 3, 4 and 5), Forms 144 and Rule 10b5-1 plan administration, supervised by our Associate General Counsel, Corporate & Securities, who trains the team on it. Prior public company reporting experience is welcome but not required. We have trained people into this work before and it went well. What we need is someone who wants to learn it and who will hold the deadlines once trained. What you will do Global entity management: the core of the role Entity lifecycle. Manage formations, foreign qualifications, branch registrations, conversions, mergers, dissolutions, liquidations and deregistrations for our US and international entities, working with outside service providers and local counsel in each jurisdiction. Good standing. Keep every entity in good standing wherever it operates. That covers annual reports and returns, statutory filings and business licenses. It also covers records for registered agents and agents for service of process, and the local compliance requirements that differ by country. Government agencies and registries. Deal directly with company registries, tax authorities, chambers of commerce and other government bodies on filings, registrations, certificates and inquiries, some of which need regular follow-up. Compliance calendar. Own the global entity compliance calendar. Know what is due, where and when, and flag it early rather than relying on a service provider's reminder. Directors, officers and authority. Track director and officer appointments and resignations, maintain signature and delegation of authority records, and prepare powers of attorney, incumbency certificates and secretary's certificates. Keep internal systems current and make sure the people who need to know about a change in signing authority are told. Portfolio rationalization. Review the legacy and dormant entities we hold, including those that came in through acquisitions. Form a view on which should be maintained, consolidated or wound down, then carry out the plan. Corporate records and governance Corporate records. Maintain minute books, statutory registers, organizational charts and entity records worldwide, in physical and electronic form, so the portfolio stays audit-ready. Governance documents. Draft board and stockholder resolutions, written consents, minutes for subsidiary matters, and organizational documents such as articles, bylaws and operating agreements, in support of routine governance matters and corporate transactions, for attorney review. Document requests. Turn around internal and external requests for certificates of good standing, certified copies, apostilles and legalizations. These usually block something, so speed matters. KYC and due diligence support Incoming requests. Respond to and manage Know Your Customer (KYC), Ultimate Beneficial Ownership (UBO) and related diligence requests from banks, financial partners, customers and other stakeholders. Supporting documentation. Compile and maintain the entity ownership, formation and governance documentation those requests rely on. Working with Finance, Tax and People Entity decisions are rarely made by Legal alone, so a large share of this role is coordination. Tax. Support tax-driven entity changes, restructurings and intercompany arrangements, and provide the corporate approvals, resolutions and records they require. Finance and Treasury. Support statutory audits, bank account openings and closures, and signatory changes. Supply the entity data behind financial reporting and audit requests. People. Work with the People team when we open in a new country. That covers employer registrations, local entity setup and the corporate steps that have to happen before anyone can be hired or paid. Across the company. Be the reliable answer when Procurement, Sales, Real Estate or anyone else needs to know which entity to use, or how Datadog is structured. Systems, data and process Diligent Entities. Own Diligent Entities as our system of record, covering data integrity, configuration and reporting. You will be the internal expert who trains others on it. Data quality. Run periodic audits of entity records, fix records where the data has drifted, and get the register to a point where it can be trusted without a manual check. Process. Build and maintain the trackers, workflows and standard operating procedures the function runs on, and document them well enough that someone else can pick them up. Automation and AI. Work with the wider Legal Operations team to automate the repetitive parts of entity work, and help assess where AI tools earn their place, both here and elsewhere in the department. Entity management is full of high-volume, rules-based work, which makes it a good place to test them. No prior AI experience is needed. Curiosity and judgment about where AI does and does not belong matter more. Securities support Supporting work, learnable on the job, performed for and supervised by our Associate General Counsel, Corporate & Securities. Section 16. Prepare, file and track Forms 3, 4 and 5 for our Section 16 officers and directors, and maintain the supporting ownership records. Forms 144 and 10b5-1. Prepare and file Forms 144 and administer the mechanics of Rule 10b5-1 plan adoptions, modifications and terminations. Entity data for reporting. Supply the entity information behind our periodic SEC filings, including the subsidiary list filed with the Form 10-K. Board support. Support board and committee matters as needed. Board and committee administration sits with our Corporate & Securities group. Your team and the wider function Your direct report. Manage, develop and set priorities for one Corporate Paralegal, and bring them along on the entity work as you standardize it. Shared services. Legal Operations runs as a shared services team. You will be cross-trained across other Legal Operations workstreams, and colleagues will be cross-trained into entity work, so the team can cover for each other and hold consistent standards. Who you are What we need Seven or more years of hands-on entity management experience, with substantial time on a multi-jurisdictional portfolio, whether in-house at a multinational, at a law firm or at a corporate services provider. Practical experience with entity formation and ongoing maintenance in multiple countries, including foreign qualification, good standing, annual filings, registered agents and local statutory requirements. Direct experience dealing with government agencies, company registries and regulators on corporate filings. You have chased a registry, fixed a rejected filing, and learned how long these things take. A track record of working with internal partners outside Legal, such as Finance, Tax and People, where the work only lands if the coordination is good. Proficiency with an entity management platform. We use Diligent Entities. If you have used a comparable system and will become an expert in ours, that works too. Strong document and spreadsheet skills. Legal and Finance work in Word and Excel, and Excel in particular carries a lot of the tracking and reporting in this role. The rest of the company runs on Google Workspace, so you will use both. Drafting skills for corporate governance documents such as resolutions, consents, certificates and minutes. Comfort with the local mechanics of an international portfolio, such as nominee and minority shareholder arrangements, local director requirements and statutory filings that vary by jurisdiction. Organization and attention to detail, and the capacity to hold a high volume of deadlines at once. Judgment about what you handle, what you flag and what you escalate, and the confidence to escalate early. Experience managing or mentoring a junior colleague. Willingness to learn the securities reporting side of the role and to hold those deadlines once trained. Willingness to be cross-trained more broadly across Legal Operations. Strong written and verbal communication, and the ability to work with outside counsel, registered agents and service providers in many countries and time zones. A bachelor's degree, an associate degree or a paralegal certificate from an ABA-approved program. If you have none of these, we will consider equivalent relevant experience. Nice to have Exposure to Section 16, Forms 144, Rule 10b5-1 administration or public company reporting. Implementing or migrating an entity management system, or materially improving the data quality of an existing one. Rationalizing a legacy entity portfolio by consolidating or winding down dormant companies, including entities acquired through M&A. Evaluating, piloting or rolling out legal technology or AI tools. Supporting restricted party or sanctions screening. Work at a multinational technology or SaaS company, or supporting one from a firm or service provider. A notary public commission in New York, or willingness to obtain one. Certification from NALA, the National Association of Legal Assistants (Certified Paralegal or Advanced Certified Paralegal), or from NFPA, the National Federation of Paralegal Associations (CORE Registered Paralegal or PACE Registered Paralegal). If you are strong on the entity management core and lighter on some of the rest of the two lists above, we would still like to hear from you. We are hiring for depth in the part of this role that is hardest to teach. #LI-Hybrid Datadog offers a competitive salary and equity package, and may include variable compensation. 📈 Who We Are: We are rebuilding the energy transaction, making it transparent and fair. Our goal is to put power back where it belongs, in the hands of customers and to take on one of the most critical problems of our century, access to low cost electricity. tem exists to fix a broken global energy market that's long favoured legacy operators, intermediaries, and opaque pricing. Today's electricity system was not designed for rapid decarbonisation, AI-driven efficiency or fair access for the actual users - businesses and generators. We've built the first AI native transaction infrastructure to reinvent how electricity is bought, sold and priced. Our technology is designed to cut out the inefficient fees, automate complex market flows, and bring transparency and fairness to energy transactions at scale. In late 2025, after extraordinary growth, we closed a $75 million Series B - led by Lightspeed Venture Partners with participation from Albion, Atomico, Allianz, Hitachi Ventures, Hitachi Ventures, Schroders Capital and others - positioning us for global expansion, deeper product innovation and category leadership. We're scaling internationally and building toward a future where AI-driven infrastructure is foundational to electricity markets worldwide. Since launch, our modern utility product, known as RED, has already facilitated thousands of business customers and billions in energy transaction value, proving that modern software and AI can transform an industry built on legacy systems. At tem, we're not just building another energy company, we're rearchitecting market infrastructure so that transparency, efficiency and sustainability become the default, not the exception. 🚀 The Role We're hiring a People Operations Partner to join our Performance team. tem is rebuilding the energy transaction - transparent, fair and built on trust. Behind that mission is a company growing fast, and a Performance team that's already lean and stretched. Core People operations needs more firepower as we scale, and there's a direct commercial angle too: a strong People Operations function is what lets new joiners ramp up and become productive faster once they arrive. This is a multi-disciplinary People Operations role at the centre of the employee lifecycle - equal parts operational delivery, automation and continuous improvement. You'll be the reliable hands keeping People processes running as we scale, from multi-country payroll to onboarding, employee changes and offboarding. You'll also build the tools, automations and lightweight AI workflows that connect our systems (Rippling, Notion, Linear, Slack, Ashby, n8n and Google Workspace), so the function doesn't need to double in size every time headcount does. In your first 12 months, you might: Take ownership of payroll across our UK and employer-of-record employees, keeping every cycle accurate and on time as pay schedules and countries multiply. Become the trusted point of contact for employees and managers, owning their queries through to resolution. Build the automations and AI-enabled workflows that remove repetitive manual work from the employee lifecycle. Turn recurring pain points into better processes, tools or self-service, and measure whether they actually worked. Move across People disciplines as priorities shift - reward and benchmarking, pensions and options administration, performance cycles, engagement and people data. 🛠️ Responsibilities Run payroll end to end: own monthly payroll across UK and employer-of-record employees - changes, corrections, off-cycle and ex-gratia payments, contractor payroll and invoicing, and country-specific items - keeping it accurate and on time as we add pay schedules and countries. Keep the lifecycle running: deliver core People operations across onboarding, employee changes, contracts and documentation, leave, mobility (visas and international moves), EOR and contractor setup, and offboarding, flexing into whatever the business needs most. Be the trusted point of contact: own employee and manager queries through to resolution with a clear response standard, rather than passing them between functions. Keep the foundations accurate: maintain employee data, documentation and systems so that everything else can depend on them. Automate the repeatable: build and maintain automations and lightweight AI-enabled tools, workflows and agents that connect Rippling, Notion, Linear, Slack, Ashby, n8n, Google Workspace and similar, and remove repetitive manual work - with controls so speed never costs accuracy, privacy or employee trust. Own the People tech stack: evolve our People technology ecosystem - evaluate emerging tools, consolidate where we can, and simplify the architecture. Improve continuously: turn recurring employee and manager pain points into better processes, tools, guidance or self-service, measure whether they worked, and give foundational People processes a named owner and a runbook someone else could follow cold. Design to delight and to scale: we treat our people like top athletes and aim to delight at every step of the employee journey, and what works at today's size shouldn't need twice the People team when headcount doubles - default to eliminating or automating work rather than administering it. Partner across the business: work with Finance, Legal, Talent, Performance Partners and functional specialists to turn People initiatives into scalable services, and build dashboards and lightweight analysis that help the team and the business make better decisions. ✅ Requirements Must-Haves You've worked in People Operations, People Services, HR Operations or another operational People role - generalists welcome - and you hold a high bar on accuracy and confidentiality. You've run payroll cycles end to end, ideally multi-country, in-house or through an employer of record. UK fundamentals (PAYE, RTI, pension auto-enrolment, statutory payments) are familiar, or clearly learnable fast if your payroll experience comes from another market. You're highly comfortable with technology: AI is part of how you work, you actively experiment with new tools and capabilities, and you can build automations through no-code or low-code tools, integrations and AI workflows. You think in systems and workflows rather than individual tasks, with a strong instinct for simplification ("why are we doing this manually?"), and you're comfortable using data to diagnose problems and make decisions. You operate effectively in ambiguity, without waiting for a perfectly defined process or remit, and you balance efficiency with empathy - People Operations is about people, not just workflows. Strong ownership instincts: when something's broken, unclear or inefficient, your instinct is to fix it, and you're willing to move across People disciplines depending on where the organisation needs you. Desirable Breadth across the People remit beyond Operations - reward and benchmarking, pensions, benefits, or performance and engagement. This role is deliberately multi-disciplinary. Familiarity with the basics of UK and EU employment law, and experience administering equity or share options (for example EMI or unapproved schemes, and cap-table tools such as Vestd). Experience supporting international employment through employers of record, and setting up or managing contractors (including off-payroll and IR35 awareness). Experience in a fast-scaling startup or scale-up, especially through a period of doubling headcount or entering new countries. 🎁 Benefits & Perks Stock options so everyone has ownership in our mission. 25 days holiday plus public holidays. Swap public holidays for the ones that matter most to you, and enjoy your birthday off. Remote first and flexible working, with clear core hours and no internal meetings on Friday afternoons. Up to GBP1,200 or EUR1,400 per year for your remote setup. Up to GBP150 or EUR170 per month for wellbeing. 🤝 Interview Process We move fast. Most processes take 2 to 3 weeks from first chat to offer. If you need us to adapt anything, let us know. Intro call with our Talent team. Hiring Manager interview. Skills interview, which might include a practical exercise. Bar Raiser interview with leadership stakeholders. We welcome applications from people of all backgrounds, experiences, and identities, including those that are traditionally underrepresented in the tech and energy sectors. If you're excited about this role but not sure you meet every requirement, we'd still love to hear from you. Your unique perspective could be exactly what we're looking for. Applied Intuition is headquartered in Sunnyvale, California, with offices in Washington, D.C.; San Diego; Ft. Walton Beach, Florida; Ann Arbor, Michigan; London; Stuttgart; Munich; Stockholm; Bangalore; Seoul; and Tokyo. Learn more at applied.co . We are an in-office company, and our expectation is that full-time employees primarily work from their Applied Intuition office 5 days a week. However, we also recognize the importance of flexibility and trust our employees to manage their schedules responsibly. This may include occasional remote work, starting the day with morning meetings from home before heading to the office, or leaving earlier when needed to accommodate family commitments. This in-office expectation does not apply to contractor positions About the role We're looking for a Senior People Business Partner in EMEA, supporting employees across Germany, Sweden, England, and other emerging geographies. You'll partner directly with country leaders at a company where the region is growing quickly, decisions are made in days, and priorities shift. You'll lead through influence, building trust with leaders in the region and with the People team at HQ in Sunnyvale, California. You are the senior People leader for the region, and the People function for EMEA runs through you. You'll own end-to-end People programs in every area starting at onboarding, and you'll be ready to direct stakeholders across the entire employee lifecycle, from onboarding through exit: regional leaders, managers, HQ People Operations, Payroll, Legal, Total Rewards, and local advisors and vendors. You set the priorities, assign the owners, and drive each issue to resolution. We expect our PBPs to lead with high agency, and this role carries that expectation further than any other. You'll set the regional People agenda, make the calls, and drive outcomes the way a regional Chief People Officer would, with specialist partners at HQ to pull in when you need them. Location: Munich, Germany Reports to: Chief People Officer At Applied Intuition, you will: Be the senior People leader and business strategist for EMEA. Understand where the regional business is going and bring leaders a clear point of view, with the tradeoffs of each option laid out. Translate business goals into talent decisions: org design, workforce planning, leveling, and succession. Use data to spot attrition risk, capability gaps, and structural problems before the business feels them, and treat your leaders as customers whose success is your measure. Lead end-to-end People programs for the region. Own the employee experience across the region: onboarding, payroll and benefits coordination, leave, compensation, performance, engagement, and employee relations, working within local employment requirements. Be scrappy when the moment calls for it: where infrastructure doesn't exist yet, build a working version yourself and refine it as you go. Direct stakeholders across the employee lifecycle. Take the lead with HQ People Operations, Payroll, Legal, Total Rewards, and local advisors and vendors. Set priorities by risk, impact, and reversibility, assign owners and deadlines, and stay on each issue until the employee or manager has a complete answer. Build self-service resources, manager guides, and clear escalation paths so the regional People function doesn't depend on any one person. Connect Sunnyvale and EMEA. Make sure regional perspectives are part of global decisions early, and make global programs work locally. Know what has to stay consistent worldwide and what should flex by country, and bring HQ recommendations with the tradeoffs laid out, not just concerns. Treat each country in the region as its own environment, not as one market. Lead the region through growth and change. Support expansion into new countries and entities, reorganizations, and leadership transitions with a clear plan, narrative, and follow-through with managers and teams. Increase talent density. Lead calibration, promotion, and talent review for the region. Identify and develop top talent, coach managers to raise the bar on their teams, and handle performance and employee relations issues with judgment, discretion, and dignity. Move fast and move safe. We are looking for someone who has: 8+ years of HR experience, with at least 3 years partnering directly with senior leaders, preferably in a high-tech environment, and experience as the sole or lead People leader for a region or country. Breadth across the full HR function: employee relations, compensation, payroll and leave administration, performance management, org design, and engagement. You move comfortably from an individual employee's pay issue to a reorganization conversation with an executive on the same day. Working knowledge of employment practices and requirements in Germany, Sweden, and England and the judgment to know when a question needs local counsel or another specialist before you act. Strong business acumen. You understand how the business makes money, where the constraints are, and how talent decisions affect outcomes, and you can speak that language with executives. Leadership and high agency. You've been the senior People leader for a region or business with minimal direction, directed partners across payroll, legal, benefits, and vendors without formal authority, and made decisions with incomplete information. Strong judgment. You know when to move fast, when to slow down an irreversible decision, and when to bring in partners, and leaders trust your read on sensitive, ambiguous situations. A record of influencing in both directions. You've advocated for a region with headquarters and challenged regional leaders when needed, and you can tell the difference between a legal requirement, a business need, and a preference. A record of leading change, not just supporting it, including implementing global programs locally and guiding teams through growth or reorganization. Fluency with data and clear, concise, direct communication, and the discipline to prioritize ruthlessly when everything feels urgent. Business-level fluency in the local language is a plus. Comfort working across time zones with a People team based in California. Nice to have: Experience supporting engineering, research, or other highly technical organizations. Experience supporting a region through entity setup or expansion into new countries, including work with an employer of record or PEO. Experience building People programs from scratch in a high-growth company. Benefits: 30 days of paid vacation per year Daily meal benefits: €19 lunch budget and €19 dinner budget, free breakfast, snacks, and drinks in the office You'll receive €965 annual learning & development and €580 annual fitness budget Subsidized Wellpass membership, giving you access to thousands of gyms, studios, and wellness facilities across Germany €25 monthly contribution to your Deutschlandticket for regional public transport across Germany Generous parental leave: on top of statutory parental leave Don't meet every single requirement? If you're excited about this role but your past experience doesn't align perfectly with every qualification in the job description, we encourage you to apply anyway. You may be just the right candidate for this or other roles. Applied Intuition is an equal opportunity employer and federal contractor or subcontractor.
