Full Stack Engineer - Trust and Safety
InternshipFully RemoteMid$187,680 - $187,680 / Year

What's in it for you?  Ready to make a serious impact? Millions of people already rely on Calendly, and we're still in the midst of exciting product growth — it's a fantastic time to join us. Everything you'll work on here will accelerate your career to the next level. If you want to learn, grow, and do the best work of your life alongside the best people you've ever worked with, then we hope you'll consider allowing Calendly to be a part of your professional journey. About the team & opportunity Millions of people use Calendly to book meetings, and most of that happens on public booking pages where anyone with a link can schedule time. That openness is what makes Calendly easy to use, and it's also what makes it a target. The Trust & Safety team keeps Calendly safe without slowing anyone down. We protect everyone who interacts with Calendly: the hosts who share their links, the invitees who book with them, and the email and SMS providers and partners who rely on us to send responsibly. Our work covers three areas: preventing and responding to abuse, protecting the deliverability and compliance of the messages Calendly sends, and keeping messaging costs predictable as the platform grows. Most of our problems are adversarial. We often can't rely on knowing who someone is, so we judge behavior, patterns, and content instead. Attackers change tactics all the time, so we build signals that last from one attack to the next. And we take false positives seriously, because blocking a real customer costs more than letting a spammer through. Engineers work closely with our Trust & Safety Operations team, who see abuse first and shape what we build. In this role, you will report to the Engineering Manager for the Trust & Safety team. A day in the life of a Full Stack Engineer at Calendly On a typical day, you will be working on:  Building and improving the systems that detect and stop abuse across sign-up, booking, and messaging, such as spam, phishing, bots, and fraudulent SMS traffic. Improving the reliability, deliverability, and compliance of the email and SMS notifications Calendly sends. Shipping new detection carefully: measuring how it performs on real traffic before it acts on accounts, and weighing false positives against false negatives. Responding to active abuse, including during on-call, by stopping the damage fast, then replacing quick fixes with durable ones. Building tools that help our Trust & Safety Operations team review accounts faster and understand why the system took each action. Partnering with Product, Operations, and Data to define requirements and measure the impact of what we ship. Working with other product teams to add protections to the flows they own. Reviewing implementation plans and pull requests, and sharing what you learn with the team. What do we need from you? 3+ years of professional software development experience at a SaaS or technology company, including building and running production systems. Strong backend skills: building services, APIs, and data-heavy workflows in a service-oriented architecture. Experience with Rails, Node/TypeScript, Go, or a comparable language or framework, and a willingness to work across more than one. Comfort with relational databases and SQL, and with using data to check whether a change actually worked. An analytical, curious mindset: you think about how a system could be misused, not only how it's supposed to be used. Good judgment about trade-offs, such as stopping bad actors without adding friction for real customers. A commitment to clean, reliable, maintainable code, thoughtful testing, and shipping in small increments. Clear communication with engineers and non-engineers alike, including Operations and Support partners. Comfort and skill with AI tools in your engineering work, including reviewing their output critically. Availability to take part in an on-call rotation for critical services. Authorized to work lawfully in the United States of America as Calendly does not engage in immigration sponsorship at this time. Nice to have Experience in trust and safety, fraud, spam, or abuse prevention. Experience with email or SMS delivery, such as deliverability, sender reputation, or messaging compliance. Experience with bot protection, rate limiting, or third-party risk and verification services. Experience building rules engines, risk scoring, or ML-backed decisions in production. Experience using LLMs to classify or moderate user-generated content. Experience with GCP, Kubernetes, PostgreSQL, or Redis. Tier 1 Salary Hiring Range $187,680 — $227,424 USD Tier 2 Salary Hiring Range $172,040 — $208,472 USD Tier 3 Salary Hiring Range $156,400 — $189,520 USD The ranges listed above are the expected annual base salary for this role, subject to change. Calendly takes a number of factors into consideration when determining an employee's starting salary, including relevant experience, relevant skills sets, interview performance, location/metropolitan area, and internal pay equity. Base salary is just one component of Calendly's total rewards package. All full-time (30 hours/week) employees are also eligible for equity awards, and competitive benefits. Eligible Sales employees also qualify for a Sales Incentive program. Calendly uses the zip code of an employee's remote work location, or the onsite building location if hybrid, to determine which metropolitan pay range we use. Current geographic zones are as follows: Tier 1: San Francisco, CA, San Jose, CA, New York City, NY Tier 2: Chicago, IL, Austin, TX, Denver, CO, Boston, MA, Washington D.C., Philadelphia, PA, Portland, OR, Seattle, WA, Miami, FL, and all other cities in CA. Tier 3: All other locations not in Tier 1 or Tier 2 If you are an individual with a disability and would like to request a reasonable accommodation as part of the application or recruiting process, please let your Recruiter know when first connecting with them. Calendly is registered as an employer in many, but not all, states. If you are located in Alaska, Delaware, Hawaii, Idaho, Iowa, Montana, Nebraska, North Dakota, Rhode Island, South Dakota, and West Virginia, you will not be eligible for employment. Staff Software Engineer, Query and Access Control
Full TimeHybridPrincipal
goterraformkubernetesmental healthcoachingsales+2

We're looking for a staff software engineer to work on how data is queried and who is allowed to see it. Every read in Asana passes through this layer: it resolves what a user is asking for and enforces, on every object, whether that user is permitted to see it. You will help us keep those guarantees correct and fast as our largest customers grow their domains, their permission structures get more intricate, and AI agents become a significant new class of caller. The Query and Access Control team owns the query execution path over the Work Graph and the permissioning model that governs it. As a staff engineer on the team, you will take on our hardest technical problems and drive the work that spans several teams, bringing depth to the design decisions that shape this layer for years. We work closely with other teams in the core infrastructure area to build and retain customer trust in Asana as the platform for their critical workflows. This role is based in our Reykjavik office with an office-centric hybrid schedule. The standard in-office days are Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday. Most Asanas have the option to work from home on Wednesdays. Working from home on Fridays depends on the type of work you do and the teams with which you partner. If you're interviewing for this role, your recruiter will share more about the in-office requirements. What you'll achieve Design and implement a query layer over the Work Graph that stays correct and performant as customer domains and permission structures grow Evolve our access control model so that permission checks remain sound, auditable, and fast on every read path Define how new classes of caller, including AI agents acting on a user's behalf, are authorized, without weakening the guarantees customers depend on Drive large, multi-quarter projects that cut across team boundaries, from design and implementation through deployment and iteration Build alignment on the design with engineers and leaders in other teams before the code is written, and keep that alignment as the work lands Share what you know through design review, code review, and mentorship Partner with infrastructure teams across Asana to define how user data in the Work Graph is accessed Support framework and product engineers to build new product functionality at scale, quickly About you 8+ years of engineering experience building and operating reliable backend services at scale, with 3+ years driving large-scale projects You have driven large technical initiatives spanning multiple teams, and perhaps organizations, from early design to adoption You go deep on hard problems and can carry a design from first principles through to production You enjoy sharing what you know with other engineers and helping them build production-quality infrastructure You are skilled at communicating technical concepts and constraints to cross-functional partners in product You bring care and rigor to systems where correctness is not negotiable, and can reason about the blast radius of a change before it ships Desirable You have experience with authorization systems, permission models, or multi-tenant data isolation at scale You have worked on query engines, query planning, caching layers, or graph-shaped data access You are familiar with infrastructure-as-code and container orchestration technologies like Terraform and Kubernetes At Asana, we're committed to building teams that include a variety of backgrounds, perspectives, and skills, as this is critical to helping us achieve our mission. If you're interested in this role and don't meet every listed requirement, we still encourage you to apply. What we'll offer Our comprehensive compensation package plays a big part in how we recognize you for the impact you have on our path to achieving our mission. We believe that compensation should be reflective of the value you create relative to the market value of your role. To ensure pay is fair and not impacted by biases, we're committed to looking at market value which is why we check ourselves and conduct a yearly pay equity audit. For this role, the estimated base salary range is between 1 600 000 - 1 800 000 ISK monthly. The actual base salary will vary based on various factors, including market and individual qualifications objectively assessed during the interview process. The listed range above is a guideline, and the base salary range for this role may be modified. In addition to base salary, your compensation package may include additional components such as equity, sales incentive pay (for most sales roles), and benefits. If you're interviewing for this role, speak with your Talent Acquisition Partner to learn more about the total compensation and benefits for this role. We strive to provide equitable and competitive benefits packages that support our employees worldwide and include: Mental health, wellness & fitness benefits Career coaching & support Inclusive family building benefits Long-term savings or retirement plans In-office culinary options to cater to your dietary preferences  These are just some of the benefits we offer, and benefits may vary based on role, country, and local regulations. Product Manager, Coordinate

The Product Management team drives Asana's product strategy and execution, translating customer needs and opportunities into a compelling roadmap and working cross-functionally to deliver impactful solutions for team productivity and collaboration. We're helping to define the Work Management category and inventing new ways for teams to work more efficiently together and see the larger purpose behind their work. Our team works directly with Engineering, Design, Experience Research, and Data Science, as well as with Sales, Support, and Marketing to ship great products.   We're looking for a Staff Product Manager to join the team that keeps complex, interdependent work accurate as it changes. This team owns tasks and how they connect and stay in sync — including subtasks, dependencies, milestones, and the approvals that keep changes safe — across the views people plan from like the Task Pane, Board, Timeline, Gantt, and Project Overview. These mechanics are what let enterprise teams model their most complex initiatives directly in Asana, so decisions here carry real revenue and competitive weight. With Asana's recent launch of Agentic Work Management, where AI Teammates work alongside people on the same plan, this PM will help pioneer this new category — owning the strategy for keeping scheduling and task relationships trustworthy as agents, not just people, propose and make changes.   This role is based in our Warsaw office with an office-centric hybrid schedule. The standard in-office days are Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday. Most Asanas have the option to work from home on Wednesdays and Fridays. If you're interviewing for this role, your recruiter will share more about the in-office requirements.   What you'll achieve: Set the strategy for how tasks connect and stay in sync as plans change — dependencies, durations, milestones, and the approval loops that keep updates safe — aligned with broader group goals Drive end-to-end delivery of multi-month initiatives — from problem definition through launch — often defining work that lands on other teams' roadmaps and requires coordinating delivery across multiple teams, rather than owning a single piece of a larger initiative Scope tight MVPs and prioritize rigorously, making sound decisions even without perfect information Facilitate complex, multi-team alignment — our surfaces touch nearly every other team at Asana, so building consensus and driving cross-functional coordination is central to the role Connect regularly with customers, using those insights to guide strategy, especially around how large and enterprise teams configure and scale their use of Asana Mentor other product managers and help raise the bar on product craft across the team   About you: 6-8 years of Product Management experience, with a track record of driving — not just contributing to — end-user features rather than purely internal or platform-only work Experience shipping multi-month, end-to-end initiatives that require close coordination across multiple teams, including work that puts deliverables on other teams' roadmaps, where you owned the full arc from definition to delivery You understand how complex, interdependent work actually gets planned and scheduled in large organizations — shifting timelines, messy dependency chains, and approval processes that vary team to team — and you've shaped product decisions around that complexity, not just built controls to manage it Systems thinker: you're comfortable reasoning about how a change in one part of a platform affects adjacent and dependent surfaces, while still caring deeply about the individual, in-the-moment experience for the person using it Strong cross-functional communicator: you can align multiple teams around a hard decision and keep execution moving even when consensus is hard to reach A growth mindset: you seek out feedback, reflect, and actively mentor others Background at a project or work management company or a mid-to-large enterprise SaaS company with complex scheduling or workflow needs is a plus, but not required At Asana, we're committed to building teams that include a variety of backgrounds, perspectives, and skills, as this is critical to helping us achieve our mission. If you're interested in this role and don't meet every listed requirement, we still encourage you to apply.   What we'll offer Generous, transparent and fair compensation system Contract of Employment ( and the option of  50% tax deductible costs for author's rights usage in respect of applicable roles )   Health insurance with dental and travel coverage (Lux Med)  Meals reimbursement on the days that you work from the office Career growth budget  Home office setup budget  Gym/Fitness reimbursement Fertility healthcare and family-forming support with  Carrot Mental Health Support in Modern Health Group life insurance MacBooks with all necessary accessories For this role, the estimated base salary range is between 37,000 - 46,000 PLN gross per month (subject to all taxes and necessary deductions). The actual base salary will vary based on various factors, including market and individual qualifications objectively assessed during the interview process. GustoSan Francisco, CA - Hybrid (Hybrid)3 days ago

About Gusto At Gusto, we're on a mission to grow the small business economy. We handle the hard stuff — payroll, health insurance, 401(k)s, and HR — so owners can focus on their craft and their customers. With teams in Denver, San Francisco, and New York, we support more than 500,000 small businesses nationwide and are building a workplace that reflects the people we serve. All full-time employees receive competitive base pay, benefits, and equity (RSUs) — because everyone who helps build Gusto should share in its success. Offer amounts are determined by role, level, and location. Learn more about our Total Rewards philosophy . AI is a fundamental part of how work gets done at Gusto. We expect all team members to actively engage with AI tools relevant to their role and grow their fluency as the technology evolves. AI experience requirements vary by role and will be assessed during the interview process. About the role At Gusto, we are builders, and the direction the business is heading has elevated the bar for how we show up and who we hire. This role brings in that builder-minded design talent across Product Design, Design Systems, Content Design, UX Research, Service Design, Brand Studio and Creative, and Design Operations. We're looking for a Staff Design Recruiter who brings the versatility and eagerness to flex into Product Management, Data, or other technical hiring areas. What will make you successful in this role:  You've recruited designers as your specialty. You are comfortable talking craft with senior Design leaders, and you already have a network and presence in the design community. You're an AI-fluent talent advisor. You leverage AI to shape search strategy, surface the market truth, and push back with evidence while balancing the true needs of the business. You don't just use AI, you build the agents and SKILLs that carry that advisory judgment to the whole team, so everyone moves further together. You take an always-on approach to talent. To you, talent acquisition and relationship management are one and the same. You consistently find bar raisers and nurture relationships long before there's an open requisition.  About the team SpecTech is the "specialized tech" recruiting team inside Gusto's Invite (talent acquisition) org. We hire builders who are responsible for Gusto's product, particularly Designers, Product Managers and Data professionals. We don't just fill requisitions. We're talent advisors who partner closely with hiring leaders on complex searches, work sourcing-first, and are data driven. We move fast, default to warmth, and hold ourselves to a high bar on candidate experience because we believe that how someone is treated in our interview process is part of the Gusto product experience.  Here's what you'll do day-to-day Recruiting end to end. You run specialized, sourcing-first searches from pre-search strategy through offer acceptance and post-hire retro, across levels and craft areas. You uphold a high bar for recruiting craft.  Talent advisory. You run tailored outbound and build bar-raiser pipelines from the start, mapping the market as you go. You turn what you learn into calibration sessions, data-backed recommendations, and clear trade-offs on factors like level, location, and compensation, so hiring leaders can make informed decisions. Work the whole system, not just the req. You build working relationships across compensation, people partners, candidate experience and operations. You know who to pull in and when to drive results. Guide candidates through an experience that resonates. High touch, honest, and caring, anchored by steady responsive communication, so people leave feeling seen, heard, and cared for, whether or not they get an offer. Build with AI, not just use it. You leverage AI to give yourself superpowers across top-of-funnel sourcing, market analysis, and interview prep, so your human touch lands where it matters most. You build new AI-enabled approaches, test new tools, and share what works to amplify the whole team's impact.  Flex into other technical searches when priorities shift. Hiring for Design is home base, but you pick up specialized PM, Data, or other technical searches when the business needs the coverage. Build an in-market design community in San Francisco. You bring designers together in person, showing up at and hosting local events, so Gusto is a name the SF design scene knows and your pipeline grows from real relationships, not cold lists. What might make this hard, and worth it?  Design and specialized tech hiring at this level is competitive, with a high hiring bar, and we're a lean team covering a wide surface area. The real challenge is the balance we aim to maintain: hiring for today's needs, nurturing relationships for the future, and pairing operational rigor with the human judgment that keeps quality high even as you lean on AI. What makes it worth it is you get to own the craft and partner with some of the best leaders around, working on the most critical high-visibility roles that directly impact Gusto's growth. You do it alongside a team that genuinely cares about each other, great people who love the work and have fun doing it. If owning the end-to-end search strategy and execution is the part that energizes you, this is exactly where you want to be. Here's what we're looking for Full-cycle recruiting depth. Typically 8+ years across specialized tech, including meaningful time specializing in Design recruiting. AI-native recruiting. Hands-on experience using AI across sourcing, market mapping, and interview prep, and building the agents or SKILLs that carry what works to the whole team. Cross-functional partnership. A proven ability to work across various People teams and business partners to keep hires moving. Executive presence. A history of partnering with leaders at every level, and the ability to walk into a room, read the audience, and speak to it with credibility. Data fluency. Reads, researches, and interprets data across multiple tools, turning it into a clear next move in a search and a compelling narrative for hiring partners. It's also how you prioritize a full requisition load and catch bottlenecks before they become problems. Sourcing as a craft. Knows what great talent looks like, across all backgrounds and walks of life, where to find it, and how to assess it, with a knack for spotting bar raisers and building always-on pipelines. Bias for action and resilience. Moves things forward and stays steady when a search gets hard. Location: San Francisco (Gusto is hybrid, roughly 2 to 3 days a week in office; the SF expectation covers the San Francisco and San Jose metro areas). Compensation: Our cash compensation range for this role is $168,000 to $190,000 for the San Francisco Bay Area. Final offers are determined by candidate location, experience, and expertise, and may vary from the range above.  At Gusto, we don't use titles the traditional way, as a signal of rank or hierarchy. Instead, our titles describe two things at once — your craft (what you do, e.g. Engineering, Design) and your scope of ownership (what you're accountable for) — which is why you'll see something like "Head of X" instead of a rank word like "Director" that tells you neither. Because of this, the title on this posting may look different from what you'd expect based on the scope and seniority of the role, and from how similar roles are typically titled elsewhere. If you have questions about how this role compares to your current title or level, your recruiter can help translate. Gusto has physical office spaces in Denver, San Francisco, and New York City. Employees who are based in those locations will be expected to work from the office on designated days approximately 2-3 days per week (or more depending on role). The same office expectations apply to all Symmetry roles, Gusto's subsidiary, whose physical office is in Scottsdale. Note: The San Francisco office expectations encompass both the San Francisco and San Jose metro areas.  When approved to work from a location other than a Gusto office, a secure, reliable, and consistent internet connection is required. This includes non-office days for hybrid employees. Reliable, consistent presence: We expect regular and predictable attendance, whether you're working in-office, hybrid, or fully remote, so that you stay closely connected to your team, customers, and stakeholders in real time and ensure colleagues and customers receive the timely support and responsiveness they deserve. Our customers come from all walks of life and so do we. We hire great people from a wide variety of backgrounds, not just because it's the right thing to do, but because it makes our company stronger. If you share our values and our enthusiasm for small businesses, you will find a home at Gusto.  Gusto is proud to be an equal opportunity employer. We do not discriminate in hiring or any employment decision based on race, color, religion, national origin, age, sex (including pregnancy, childbirth, or related medical conditions), marital status, ancestry, physical or mental disability, genetic information, veteran status, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, or other applicable legally protected characteristic. Gusto considers qualified applicants with criminal histories, consistent with applicable federal, state and local law. Gusto is also committed to providing reasonable accommodations for qualified individuals with disabilities and disabled veterans in our job application procedures. We want to see our candidates perform to the best of their ability. If you require a medical or religious accommodation at any time throughout your candidate journey, please fill out this form and a member of our team will get in touch with you. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors, including candidate experience and expertise, and may vary from the amounts listed above.
