Our Global Structure Deliveroo is now part of DoorDash, bringing together teams with even greater reach, scale, and ambition. Depending on your role, you may collaborate with teammates, systems, and leaders across DoorDash and Wolt. Together, we're unlocking new possibilities as one global team. Your job is to make sure every payout and transaction lands with the right person. We have spent years getting very good at protecting the things a marketplace has always had to protect: checkout fraud, account takeover, courier abuse. But we are no longer only a marketplace. We now issue banking products, lend to merchants, move instant payouts to couriers, and collect cash on the doorstep. Every one of those is a new way for money to leave the platform. This is a new team, and it owns that surface: fraud wherever money moves through the platform. Who receives it, who lends it, who collects it, and who holds it in a financial account. Think instant payout rails, merchant cash advances, and platform-issued banking and earned-wage products serving millions of couriers and merchants. These are live loss surfaces, and the volume grows with every financial product we launch. We are now looking for a Backend Engineer (Golang) to build that protection. You will design and ship real-time detection and automated enforcement for our financial products across DoorDash, Wolt, and Deliveroo. The work is high-throughput, low-latency, and unusually consequential: a rule you ship on Monday can stop a serious loss by Friday. It is also close to greenfield, so you will be setting the patterns every future financial product inherits on day one. This role will be based in London , UK as one of the founding engineering roles in our London hub, working closely with our teams in Helsinki and Berlin. What you'll do: Build and maintain high-throughput, low-latency backend services in Go that score financial events in real time, including payout enrollments, bank account links, credit applications, and account-to-account transfers. Design fraud detection and automated enforcement for our financial products end to end: from signal collection through to the decision that blocks a fraudulent payout. Build on and extend our shared fraud decisioning platform, so signals, rules, and models work across all three of our brands instead of being rebuilt three times. Partner closely with risk analysts, data scientists, and product managers to turn observed fraud patterns into shipped detection, and to know when a rule, a model, or a product change is the right answer. Work across team boundaries with our account security, payments fraud, and financial product teams. We build on their signals rather than rebuild them, so clean interfaces matter. Contribute to architectural discussions and technical decisions as we establish the fraud infrastructure baseline for financial products, with support from senior engineers on the team. Write well-tested, observable code and help the team hold a high quality bar. In fraud, a silent failure is a loss event. Our expectations: 3 to 6 years of professional software engineering experience, including backend services you have shipped and owned in production. 1+ years of production experience in Golang, or strong experience in another backend language and real enthusiasm for picking Go up quickly. A working understanding of low-latency, high-throughput distributed systems. Real-time decisioning comes with a latency budget, and you are keen to learn to build inside one. Hands-on experience with SQL and/or NoSQL databases, and some exposure to event-driven architectures (Kafka or similar). Willingness to operate what you build, including a share of on-call, with a pragmatic approach to reliability. Uses AI tooling in day-to-day development and can critically evaluate its output for correctness and quality. Nice to have Experience in fraud, risk, payments, lending, or financial crime, especially money movement fraud, bank account linking fraud, payout abuse, or lending fraud. Experience with rules engines, real-time feature stores, or ML model serving in a decisioning path. Background in Kotlin, Java, Python, or Node.js alongside Go. Familiarity with cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP). Experience working across multiple brands, regions, or regulatory regimes. What we value A product-oriented mindset. You think beyond the ticket, understand the "why" behind the work, and take a high level of responsibility for outcomes rather than output. Comfort with ambiguity. This is a new team on a new surface; parts of the charter are still being drawn, and you will help draw them. A track record of owning a project or feature end to end, especially in fast-paced environments. Clear and proactive communication, with a collaborative spirit. We work across three companies and several time zones, so we move fast, but we succeed together. An adversarial instinct. The best fraud engineers enjoy thinking like the attacker. Diversity, Equity and Inclusion At Deliveroo, we know that a great workplace reflects the world around us and that true diversity and inclusion make us stronger, more creative, and better at what we do. We're committed to fostering an environment where everyone can do their best work and feel they belong. Identify ambiguity, conflicting requirements, and missing decisions before they slow the team down. Track important product and contractual deliverables. Help prepare product reviews, demonstrations, and customer discussions. Create enough structure to keep the organization aligned without introducing unnecessary process. What Great Looks Like You are given a problem such as: "Operators need a better way to understand and respond to vehicle health issues during degraded communications." You meet with the relevant operators, engineers, customers, and stakeholders. You understand the underlying problem. You separate customer requests from actual product requirements. You identify edge cases and unresolved decisions. You write a product specification that clearly explains the intended behavior, workflows, system states, requirements, and open questions. You work with Product Design to turn that specification into a strong interface. You incorporate feedback, resolve ambiguity, and keep the feature moving until the capability works as intended. The Head of Product provides direction and reviews the most important decisions—but does not need to personally produce every artifact or manage every follow-up. Early Expectations Within the first few weeks, you should begin contributing directly to product specifications. Initially, you may draft sections of specifications or own smaller, well-bounded capabilities with guidance from the Head of Product. As your understanding of Legion, its operators, and the technical architecture grows, you will rapidly take ownership of larger features. We are not looking for someone who spends six months observing before contributing. The Person We're Looking For You are an excellent writer. You can take a complicated conversation and turn it into a clear product definition. You have strong product judgment and are comfortable making reasonable decisions when requirements are incomplete. You understand that a customer request is not automatically a product requirement. You are technically curious and capable of participating meaningfully in discussions with software engineers, systems engineers, operators, and external partners. You naturally ask questions like: What problem are we actually trying to solve? Who needs this capability? What should happen in this edge case? What does the operator see? What state is the system actually in? How will we know this works? Is this a product decision, an engineering decision, or a customer preference? You are highly organized, but organization is a means to an end. Your real job is creating clarity and moving product decisions forward. Particularly Valuable Experience Experience with any of the following would be especially valuable: Technical product management Complex B2B software Command-and-control systems Aerospace or defense Robotics or autonomous systems Mission planning Geospatial software Systems engineering Government programs Operational testing Requirements development What This Role Is Not This is not a project coordinator role. It is not a Scrum Master role. It is not an administrative Product Operations position. It is not someone whose primary contribution is scheduling meetings, maintaining Jira, or writing meeting minutes. Those activities may occasionally be necessary, but they are secondary. The primary contribution is: understanding product problems and defining excellent solutions. Success After 90 Days You are independently drafting product specifications for bounded Legion features. Customer and operator feedback is consistently translated into clear product requirements. Product meetings result in updated specifications, decisions, and actionable follow-up. The Head of Product can delegate meaningful feature-definition work to you. Product Design receives clearer inputs and can move faster. Important product decisions and rationale are documented and traceable. ITAR requirement To conform to U.S. Government export regulations, applicant must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State. Headquarters: Armenia Yerevan, EMEA, Armenia URL: http://replika.com About Replika In 2017, no one knew what AI was supposed to be. We built the world's first consumer AI app. Two million people showed up in two months. Today it's over 40 million, and the thing they keep telling us hasn't changed: it helped. It made their life better, steadier, a little less alone. Most AI is built for tasks, not for people. It gives you answers, but it doesn't care what you do with them. AI doesn't just need intelligence. It needs intention. Because the real question isn't just what AI can do. It's what AI is for. When the world's leading researchers wanted to understand whether AI could actually change someone's life, they studied Replika, because there was nothing else to study. What they found at Stanford, at Harvard, across years of research, was that Replika doesn't replace human connection. It deepens it. People become more social, more confident, more themselves. Not in theory. In their actual lives. Every major AI company talks about their mission for humanity. None of them has ever clearly said what they're trying to do for a single person. We will. We want to help you flourish in real life. Not become a better version of yourself, just more yourself. Strong relationships. Better health. Meaning. Momentum. A life that feels worth living while you're living it. We're building the kind of AI that follows up. That knows the people in your life and nudges you to reach out when it matters. That sends you a poem, just because. The goal is conversations that lead somewhere real. Maybe it's a text you send to a long lost friend. A hobby you pick up again. A moment you show up for yourself. Everyone else is building AI that thinks. We're building AI that cares. Lifecycle & CRM Specialist About this role Millions of people have already met Replika: free users who haven't upgraded yet, subscribers who've lapsed, and people who signed up years ago and drifted away. Almost none of them hear from us in a way that's worth opening. That's the biggest untapped channel we have, and you'll own it. You'll build our lifecycle program from the ground up. Email first, then in-app messages, push and any other channel that gets the right message to the right person at the right moment. Onboarding, free-to-paid conversion, renewals, win-back, product launches. The goal is revenue and retention, not open rates. This is a hands-on role. You'll help set the lifecycle strategy and build it yourself: the segments, the flows, the copy, the tests and the reporting. Our users are in almost every country, so you'll work within consent and privacy rules for a global audience, and you'll know how to design a program that is both compliant and effective. What You'll Be Doing Build the core lifecycle flows: onboarding, free-to-paid conversion, intro offers ending, renewals, cancellation saves and win-back. Convert free users. Work with product on in-app messages and offers that move people to paid at the right moment. Reactivate our base. Plan and run campaigns to lapsed users and our long-dormant email list, cleanly and within consent. Segment and personalize with product and subscription data, so each person gets the message that fits where they are. Test everything: timing, subject lines, offers, channels. Keep what wins and kill what doesn't. Own deliverability, list health and the reporting that ties every flow to revenue. What We're Looking For Hands-on lifecycle or CRM experience at a consumer subscription app, with revenue results you can show. You've built flows yourself in a modern messaging platform like Braze, Customer.io, Iterable or Klaviyo. Strong with data. You build your own segments and read your own results without waiting for an analyst. You understand compliant communication for a global audience: consent, unsubscribes, GDPR, CAN-SPAM and their equivalents. You write good copy, or know exactly how to brief and edit it. You shape the strategy and do the implementation yourself. Excellent written English. Bonus Points In-app messaging and push experience on iOS and Android. Deliverability experience: domain reputation, warming, and bringing a large dormant list back safely. Experience with web and app subscription billing and the events it sends. You've worked on a product where trust and tone really matter. What You'll Get Flexible job schedule and generous vacation policy. Direct impact on millions of worldwide users within months. Push the boundaries of applied AI in a consumer setting. Fully remote, able to work CET hours. To apply: https://weworkremotely.com/remote-jobs/replika-lifecycle-crm-specialist
