Senior Front-End Engineer (React) - Personalization
Full TimeOn-siteSenior
typescriptgoreactstorybookjestreact native+1

In a nutshell At Picnic, we're revolutionising the way people buy groceries with our affordable and sustainable grocery service. In the Personalization team, you'll build the experimentation platform that lets Picnic try new ideas safely and at scale: from which promotions to highlight to which emails to send. Your work lets business teams run experiments and control the customer experience themselves, without needing an engineer for every change. It's a product that is foundational to our business, and it directly improves how customers shop every day. We use React, React Native and TypeScript across the board, together with our server-driven UI framework , and we're working towards a single platform for mobile and web. Tricks of the trade Think like a product owner. You don't just implement requirements, you question them. Together with product owners and designers, you shape specifications for new features, discuss trade-offs, push back when something doesn't add up, and help build a long-term vision for where the platform should go. Build bridges. You work with cross-functional teams across the whole business: the business teams who rely on the platform, fellow engineers, and the other consumer-facing teams whose features run through it. You make it easy for others to succeed. Drive things forward. You don't wait for someone to hand you the next task. You spot what could be better, in the codebase, the platform or how the team works, and you take the lead on fixing it. You'll take on increasingly challenging projects with full ownership of your contributions. Our Tech: React, React Native, TypeScript and RxJS, Redux, Styled Components, Jest, Storybook If you want ownership, real influence on product direction, and to see your work reach millions of customers, you'll feel at home here. We're looking for 7+ years of building and shipping frontend applications end-to-end. You've taken products from idea to millions of users, and you've stayed around to make them better. A strong conceptual thinker. You thrive in ambiguity and lead the way to the right solution. Sharp judgement on trade-offs. You know when to build it right and when to ship it now, and you make that call yourself. Real curiosity about the customer. You care whether your work changes how people shop, not just whether the code is clean. Clear, structured communicator. You collaborate effectively with product, design, backend, analytics, and frontend teams. Genuine motivation to build consumer and e-commerce experiences used by millions, with willingness to work from Picnic's Amsterdam office-first environment . Picnic Perks ✍🏼Every expert was once a beginner! You'll get plenty of opportunities to challenge yourself and grow, including the Picnic Tech Academy, Lunch & Learn sessions, and tailored soft skills training. We also offer free professional weekly language courses. 💡Make a difference You'll work in an awesome startup environment with the freedom to drive your own projects and create a visible impact. Our fully electric vehicles and sustainable business model mean you'll also be contributing to making the world a better place! 🫱🏼‍🫲🏾Teamwork makes the dream work With more than 80 nationalities across 3 countries, you'll be part of a diverse company with plenty of cool stuff to get involved with, from board game evenings to after-work drinks to our company ski trip and more! 🍎You are what you eat You'll get freshly prepared, healthy lunches and snacks (with plenty of vegetarian, vegan, and halal options). Coffee snob? Don't worry, our amazing Picnic barista has you covered. 🚴🏽Stay healthy Mental health is important. As well as having the option to speak with Picnic colleagues who act as confidential advisors, our collaboration with OpenUp gives you easy access to professional psychologists, along with workshops and materials. There are plenty of sports communities and events to get involved with, from tennis to yoga, to climbing! 🔋Attractive package We offer competitive compensation and a pension plan that looks out for your future self, as well as 25 vacation days per year, so you can recharge your batteries 🌍Benefits for expats It can be daunting starting a new job AND moving to a new country. That's why we offer lots of support for our many expat colleagues, if you want to find our relocation benefits, see here . Find more English Speaking Jobs in Netherlands on Arbeitnow
