The company's products are powered by Coherent Distributed Networks (CDN™), empowering warfighters, commercial air operators, and border protection teams to act faster, adapt rapidly, and stay ahead of evolving threats. CHAOS Industries was founded in 2022 and has raised a total of $1 billion in funding from leading investors, including 8VC, Accel, and Valor Equity Partners. The company is headquartered in Los Angeles, with offices in Washington, D.C., San Francisco, San Diego, Seattle, and London. For more information, please visit www.chaosinc.com . The Role You'll join a small, highly collaborative team working across London and San Francisco, building the software behind some of the world's most advanced radar systems. Working alongside software, hardware, and systems engineers, and the teams who take these systems into the field, you'll design the backend services, data pipelines, and operator-facing applications that turn raw sensor data into decisions people can act on. The systems you build must be reliable, resilient, secure, and performant - enabling operators to depend on them in the environments where they matter most. This is a high-ownership role where you'll influence architecture and help define the engineering foundations of a rapidly evolving platform. We're looking for engineers who enjoy scaling distributed systems and solving hard data problems. What You'll Build Backend Services - develop high-performance Python services that ingest, process, and distribute real-time sensor data with low latency, high reliability, and security at scale. Operator Interfaces - build and evolve the web applications operators use to monitor live missions and investigate what the sensors saw (TypeScript and React). Cloud Platform - design and build secure, scalable Azure services that power distributed radar systems, defining the infrastructure as code and instrumentation for the systems you own. Platform Architecture - help shape the technical direction of the platform, making architectural decisions that support new capabilities, increasing scale, and long-term maintainability. What We're Looking For We're looking for exceptional software engineers who are excited by solving hard technical problems and building systems that matter. You don't need experience with every technology we use - we value strong engineering fundamentals, curiosity, and the ability to learn quickly. You'll thrive in this role if you: Enjoy building scalable backend systems and taking ownership of production services. Enjoy solving complex distributed systems and real-time data challenges. Are eager to learn new technologies and adapt to new technical domains. Care deeply about reliability, security, and scalability. Get real leverage from AI coding tools, with a considered view on what to delegate to them and what not to. Communicate well and enjoy collaborating across teams. Are motivated by building technology with meaningful real-world impact. Requirements Right to work in the UK. Willingness to travel. You'll be based in our Soho office in London, but most of the team is in San Francisco - expect to co-locate there for around a week each quarter. Why CHAOS? If your compensation requirements fall outside of the range, we still encourage you to apply. The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only. Actual salary offer may vary based on (but not limited to) work experience, education and/or training, critical skills, and/or business considerations. Senior Product Security Engineer (all genders)
Full TimeFully RemoteSenior

Distribusion is the world's leading ground transportation marketplace and gives travellers seamless access to ground transportation online, from search to ticket purchase. We have built a cutting-edge B2B technology platform that connects bus, rail and ferry operators in 70+ countries with the biggest online retailers including Google Maps and Booking.com. We are shaping the future of travel and building the largest global network of transport providers and retailers. We are one of the fastest growing startups in travel, backed by leading venture capital investors including TQ Ventures, Lightrock, Creandum, and Northzone, and are headquartered in Berlin, Germany. Following our recent $80m Series C funding, we are ready to push beyond. We are looking for our first dedicated Senior Product/Application Security Engineer to build our AppSec practice from the ground up. This is a greenfield opportunity with a real attack surface: public partner-facing APIs and payment flows. You will own secure development, define what gets reviewed, implement security gates, build the "paved road" for ~150 engineers, and see the impact of your work in production within weeks. What you will do: Lead threat modeling and secure design reviews for high-risk changes, partner integrations, and payment flows. Implement, tune, and enforce security gates in GitLab CI/CD (SAST, SCA, secrets scanning, and DAST) while minimizing developer friction. Act as the primary technical owner for triaging, reproducing, and prioritizing findings from bug bounties, partner pentests, and automated scanners. Work hands-on with the DevOps team to implement GCP organizational policies, IAM least-privilege architectures, and Cloud Armor (WAF/rate limiting). Establish a security-champions network across engineering squads and leverage automation/AI-assisted tooling to scale code reviews effectively. Own vulnerability management end to end: a risk-ranked backlog, remediation SLAs, an escalation path, and closing findings together with the teams. Scope and coordinate the annual external penetration test and produce secure-development evidence for PCI-DSS and ISO 27001. Workplace: We are a remote-first company with teams located around the Globe and a HQ in Berlin. Who you are: You bring 5+ years in Product/Application Security (or 3+ years plus a strong software engineering/web-pentesting background), with a track record of true ownership. You read and write production code (Python, Go, TypeScript, Ruby, etc.) and deeply understand web frameworks, CI/CD, and Kubernetes. You have deep knowledge of web and API security, specifically authentication/authorization models (OAuth2, JWT), rate limiting, tenant isolation, IDOR, and XSS. You have strong cloud security fundamentals (GCP preferred), specifically regarding public exposure, secrets hygiene, and WAF rules. You have run threat modelling and secure design reviews on real systems (STRIDE or similar). Hands-on with SAST/SCA/secrets scanning in CI (Aikido, Semgrep, Snyk or similar). You prioritize by real-world risk, propose trade-offs rather than demanding perfection, and communicate complex risks plainly to engineers and leadership. Bonus Points: You have experience securing high-volume, multi-tenant B2B APIs and utilizing AI tooling to accelerate triage and review. What you can expect: You will join a fast-paced travel tech company with a flat organizational structure. You will have exciting opportunities, ownership, and responsibility and contribute directly to the success of the company. You will join an international team of talented and driven people with a clear mission. Expect your colleagues to inspire, support and challenge you every day! We have a flexible work policy with the option of working remotely and international opportunities arising as we continue to expand our global footprint – Our heart is in Berlin, but you'll find us across the globe. You will get a competitive salary. Our hiring team for this role: Your Talent Partner (TP) and point of contact is Lorena Rebenciuc, and the Hiring Manager (HM) is Ilya Isakov. For any queries, contact your Talent Partner at Do you want to work on a product that is used by millions of people daily with a high load, availability and scalability, and most advanced technology? Before the detail, here's the challenge you'd help us solve. We build the embodied intelligence that moves real vehicles safely, and the ecosystem a billion machines will run on in the future. Very few people in AI can say this. Every role here, whatever the team, plugs into that. Here's what this particular role covers. 🛠️ About our Data Enrichment Platform Team Our Enrichment Orchestration team builds the platform that enables Wayve's teams to deploy, run, evaluate and continually improve machine-learning models. Processing petabytes of driving data across large GPU fleets, the team creates dependable, self-service capabilities that help model engineers understand model performance, improve quality and reduce operational effort and cost. As our Staff Software Engineer, you'll own the platform's technical vision and long-term direction. You'll combine hands-on engineering with cross-team technical leadership, shaping how model engineering, infrastructure, compute and data capabilities come together to accelerate model development. 🧠 Your day-to-day Own the technical vision and architecture for the end-to-end Data Enrichment Platform, translating user needs into a clear technical direction. Lead the design, development and operation of backend services, APIs, model-execution workflows, versioned outputs, annotation capabilities and dataset catalogues. Make architectural decisions for petabyte-scale data and large GPU fleets, addressing data locality, scheduling, capacity, backpressure, failure recovery, observability and cost. Evaluate when to build, buy, reuse, integrate, consolidate or replace technologies as Wayve's needs and the technology landscape evolve. Establish clear technical boundaries and ownership across model engineering, AI Platform, infrastructure, compute, storage and data teams. Remain hands-on while leading cross-team delivery, mentoring senior engineers and raising standards for maintainable, tested and observable software. Drive adoption of reusable, self-service capabilities so teams can onboard and operate workflows independently. Define measurable service levels and success metrics covering reliability, throughput, cost, automation and adoption. 🧩 What you'll be working on A scalable platform for large-scale inference, automated evaluation, model monitoring, active learning and retraining. Self-service backend services and APIs that enable dozens of model engineers to deploy and operate repeatable workflows independently. Reproducible dataset selection, versioned outputs, annotation workflows and dataset catalogues with clear metadata, provenance and lineage. Reliable model-execution workflows operating across petabytes of driving data and large GPU fleets, scaling towards thousands of GPUs. Monitoring and operational tooling that make model quality, platform reliability, throughput, cost, runtime and workflow status visible. The foundations for continuous evaluation, drift detection and automated model-improvement loops across robotics and computer-vision workloads. Architectural improvements that reduce inference costs, duplicate compute and manual operational effort. 🙌 You should apply if You have owned the long-term technical direction of a complex, multi-system platform or capability and can demonstrate the measurable outcomes of your decisions. You have strong production software-engineering experience in Python, building maintainable, tested and observable backend services, APIs and data-processing systems. You have deep experience designing and operating large-scale distributed systems for data-intensive or compute-intensive workloads. You have a track record of turning internal platforms into widely adopted, reliable and usable self-service products. You bring excellent architecture and technology judgement, balancing immediate delivery needs with long-term platform direction. You remain hands-on while leading delivery across organisational boundaries, influencing technical decisions and aligning teams around clear ownership and shared outcomes. You communicate complex ideas clearly and have experience mentoring senior engineers and strengthening the technical capabilities of those around you. Experience with workflow orchestration, batch inference, ML platforms, model deployment or registries would be an advantage. Relevant technologies include Flyte, Airflow, Dagster, Argo, Spark, Databricks, Ray, Kubernetes and GPU infrastructure. Experience with annotation or dataset-catalogue platforms, including provenance, versioning, lineage and quality control, would also be valuable. Experience with production robotics or computer-vision platforms—including annotation, inference, evaluation and model monitoring—is particularly desirable. Computer-vision research expertise is not required. 🌱 Not ticking every box? That's totally okay! If you're passionate about autonomy and the impact you could make at Wayve, we encourage you to apply even if you don't meet every requirement. More about Wayve 🚀 Wayve is building the leading AI platform for autonomous driving. We are pioneering an end-to-end AI approach that enables vehicles to learn directly from real-world experience, developing the ability to adapt, generalise and improve at scale. Instead of relying on hand-coded rules or pre-mapped environments, our AI Driver learns to drive by understanding the world around it. The result is technology that navigates complex urban environments with intelligence, precision and natural flow, unlocking meaningful advances in both safety and efficiency. We believe autonomy represents a once-in-a-generation transformation in how people and goods move, comparable to the shift from horses to cars, and from human-driven vehicles to intelligent machines. Our ambition is to make autonomy universal. Wayve's mapless and hardware-agnostic AI platform integrates with global OEM partners, enabling continuous software evolution and unlocking advanced levels of automation from L2+ through to L4 as our core AI model scales. In a race increasingly defined by intelligence and real-world learning, Wayve is taking a distinct approach, building a generalisable driving intelligence that can power any vehicle, anywhere. By combining embodied AI with scalable deployment, we are creating technology that can be shaped to each OEM brand and driver experience, accelerating the transition to a safer, more intelligent future of mobility. Wayve is not a mature, fully-structured place with the playbook already written. Much of how we work is still being written, and if you join, you'll help write it. That suits people who want real ownership more than people who need a settled structure from day one. If that sounds like the kind of problem you want to spend your time on, we'd really like to hear from you. At Wayve we're committed to creating a diverse, fair and respectful culture that is inclusive of everyone based on their unique skills and perspectives, and regardless of sex, race, religion or belief, ethnic or national origin, disability, age, citizenship, marital, domestic or civil partnership status, sexual orientation, gender identity, veteran status, pregnancy or related condition (including breastfeeding) or any other basis as protected by applicable law.
