About Anthropic Anthropic's mission is to create reliable, interpretable, and steerable AI systems. We want AI to be safe and beneficial for our users and for society as a whole. Our team is a quickly growing group of committed researchers, engineers, policy experts, and business leaders working together to build beneficial AI systems. About the role The IT Operations team keeps Anthropic running. We want every employee to do their best work without friction. We're hiring an IT Support Engineer who pairs strong technical skills with a service mindset and good judgment. Anthropic is growing fast, and IT needs to keep pace. That means onboarding at scale, automating repetitive work (including with Claude), and improving the day-to-day employee experience. You'll handle support across our mostly macOS environment and help with the operational work that lets us scale. You'll work closely with IT Engineering and Security, with room to grow into more technical infrastructure work over time. This isn't a scripted support role. You'll have real ownership, use your judgment to improve our processes, and grow with the team as we scale. Key responsibilities Triage and resolve issues across hardware, software, networking, and accounts, mostly through our ticketing system, plus Slack and in-person Diagnose and fix issues across macOS, ChromeOS, iOS, Android, and our core SaaS platforms (Google Workspace, Slack, GitHub, Atlassian) Troubleshoot device issues, including enrollment, configuration profiles, and policy enforcement Support access management and employee lifecycle workflows (onboarding, offboarding, reorgs) Handle escalations that need cross-team coordination Join an on-call rotation for urgent issues outside business hours Provide hands-on support for user technology, AV systems, conference rooms, and printers Communicate clearly with users at every technical level Write and maintain internal documentation, including runbooks, how-to guides, and knowledge base articles Spot patterns in support requests, surface recurring issues, and flag opportunities to automate Help streamline onboarding and other high-volume operations as we scale Contribute to automation efforts Maintain and improve device management, identity, and access systems Write scripts (Bash, Python) to automate repetitive tasks Minimum qualifications Hands-on IT support experience, ideally in a fast-paced environment Experience supporting macOS endpoints, and comfortable supporting ChromeOS, iOS, and Android Experience with Google Workspace administration Experience with Slack administration, including workspace management, permissions, and troubleshooting Experience supporting and administering other SaaS tools Understanding of identity and access fundamentals: SSO, MFA, directory services Familiarity with MDM fundamentals and endpoint management concepts Basic scripting (Bash or Python) for automation Strong troubleshooting skills, with a methodical and persistent approach Clear communicator who enjoys helping people solve problems Take ownership of problems and follow through until they're resolved Preferred qualifications Familiarity with zero-trust security concepts and endpoint security tooling Networking basics: DNS, DHCP, VPNs Experience with IT projects beyond day-to-day support, such as migrations, tool rollouts, or process redesigns Experience using AI tools to improve personal or team productivity Interest in developing deeper technical skills and taking on more complex systems administration over time Logistics Minimum education: Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience Required field of study: A field relevant to the role as demonstrated through coursework, training, or professional experience Minimum years of experience: Years of experience required will correlate with the internal job level requirements for the position Location-based hybrid policy: Currently, we expect all staff to be in one of our offices at least 25% of the time. However, some roles may require more time in our offices. Visa sponsorship: We do sponsor visas! However, we aren't able to successfully sponsor visas for every role and every candidate. But if we make you an offer, we will make every reasonable effort to get you a visa, and we retain an immigration lawyer to help with this. We encourage you to apply even if you do not believe you meet every single qualification. Not all strong candidates will meet every single qualification as listed. Research shows that people who identify as being from underrepresented groups are more prone to experiencing imposter syndrome and doubting the strength of their candidacy, so we urge you not to exclude yourself prematurely and to submit an application if you're interested in this work. We think AI systems like the ones we're building have enormous social and ethical implications. We think this makes representation even more important, and we strive to include a range of diverse perspectives on our team. Your safety matters to us. To protect yourself from potential scams, remember that Anthropic recruiters only contact you from @anthropic.com email addresses. In some cases, we may partner with vetted recruiting agencies who will identify themselves as working on behalf of Anthropic. Be cautious of emails from other domains. Legitimate Anthropic recruiters will never ask for money, fees, or banking information before your first day. If you're ever unsure about a communication, don't click any links—visit anthropic.com/careers directly for confirmed position openings. How we're different We believe that the highest-impact AI research will be big science. At Anthropic we work as a single cohesive team on just a few large-scale research efforts. And we value impact — advancing our long-term goals of steerable, trustworthy AI — rather than work on smaller and more specific puzzles. We view AI research as an empirical science, which has as much in common with physics and biology as with traditional efforts in computer science. We're an extremely collaborative group, and we host frequent research discussions to ensure that we are pursuing the highest-impact work at any given time. As such, we greatly value communication skills. The easiest way to understand our research directions is to read our recent research. This research continues many of the directions our team worked on prior to Anthropic, including: GPT-3, Circuit-Based Interpretability, Multimodal Neurons, Scaling Laws, AI & Compute, Concrete Problems in AI Safety, and Learning from Human Preferences. Come work with us! Anthropic is a public benefit corporation headquartered in San Francisco. We offer competitive compensation and benefits, optional equity donation matching, generous vacation and parental leave, flexible working hours, and a lovely office space in which to collaborate with colleagues. What We Do: Cybercrime is growing, and more businesses are getting hit by threats that used to target only the biggest organizations. That pushes defenders like us to operate at the highest level, and it deepens our need for good people who want to make a meaningful impact. About the role Data science is in a moment of reinvention: AI-generated code and agentic workflows are changing what it means to put analytical work into production. Posit's mission is to empower people to conduct trustworthy data analysis for themselves, their organizations, and the world at large. Posit Team is the trusted on-premises platform at the center: a place where data scientists and the organizations that rely on them can explore data, deploy applications and agents, expose and consume MCP servers, and do all of it with the visibility, accountability, and reproducibility that serious analytical work demands. We are seeking a skilled Senior Software Engineer to join our engineering team. In this role, you will bring a builder's instinct to a team working at the intersection of data science, infrastructure, and AI. You will help us build new capabilities and features in our product suite, including things we haven't yet imagined possible, and you will drive those changes forward into our customers' hands. About you You are an enthusiastic generalist who thrives in the face of ambiguous requirements—an engineer who is just as good at starting things as you are at finishing them. Some qualities we value most: High agency You are driven. When something important feels daunting or underspecified, your first instinct is to prototype to clarify the value you can deliver, rather than wait for someone to give you the answers. Boldness in learning You are genuinely unafraid to tackle unfamiliar subjects. You know that nobody is an expert in everything, and you don't let unfamiliarity be a reason for not trying. You're not afraid to ask questions and make mistakes, because learning new techniques feels like an adventure and we share what we learn as a team. Proficiency in either Go or Typescript as well as in either Python or R, and experience with backend systems, data tooling, and data science frameworks are helpful for this role. Eagerness and boldness to learn is essential. User empathy and product sense You make judgment calls on behalf of users with minimal up front guidance and are willing to be wrong, because you will learn. Prior domain expertise with data science as a practice may help, but it is not the only way. Regardless, you lead with empathy: you optimize for solving a real customer problem, not for technical purity. Collaborative curiosity You are generous. When you learn something useful, your first instinct is to share it. You teach as readily as you learn, ask questions without ego, admit what you don't know, and lend a hand when someone's stuck. Interest in AI You are interested not just in using AI in your work, but building tools for customers to use AI in their own work. You also are curious, and you question when AI is not the right answer for a particular problem. You lean on your user empathy when building: knowing that some of our customers use and love AI in data science and others don't or are restricted from using it. Results-driven You are focused on delivering measurable value to customers. You have a strong technical background with a track record of shipping successful products. Within one week, you will… Ship code changes that meaningfully improves the experience for our customers. Within one month, you will… See your changes reflected in our public releases. Participate in feature planning and provide feedback. Feel comfortable navigating the codebase and understand how things fit together. Within three months, you will… Plan features and drive their development. Have a track record of teaching team members; both from your expertise and things you learn as you build. Have a track record of learning: both from the things you learned and taught us along the way; and from listening to internal users, external users, and how our customers use our products. Within six months, you will… Point to new features you built that we hadn't even dreamed were possible.
