About IonQ: IonQ, Inc . [NYSE: IONQ] is the world's leading quantum platform and merchant supplier - delivering integrated quantum solutions across computing, networking, sensing, and security. IonQ's newest generation of quantum computers, the IonQ Tempo, is the latest in a line of cutting-edge systems that have been helping customers and partners including Amazon Web Services, and AstraZeneca achieve 20x performance results and accelerate innovation in drug discovery, materials science, financial modeling, logistics, cybersecurity, and defense. In 2025, the company achieved 99.99% two-qubit gate fidelity, setting a world record in quantum computing performance . Headquartered in College Park, Maryland, IonQ has operations in California, Colorado, Massachusetts, Tennessee, Washington, Italy, South Korea, Sweden, Switzerland, Canada, and the United Kingdom. Our quantum computing services are available through all major cloud providers, while we also meet the needs of networking and sensing customers across land, sea, air, and space. IonQ is making quantum platforms more accessible and impactful than ever before. Role: System Software builds the software that runs IonQ's quantum computers: the runtime, orchestration, quantum tools, controllers and transport software that sit between the Quantum Operating System and the hardware. It is where a next-generation system either comes together or doesn't. We're hiring a Staff Technical Programme Manager to lead delivery across this stack. You'll report to the Group Program Manager, Software in our Programme Management Office and be matrixed to the VP, Software for day-to-day work. You'll work across five engineering teams (runtime, orchestration, quantum tools, controllers and transport) and the interfaces between them and their cross-functional stakeholders, serving several next-generation system programmes at once, with hardware being co-developed alongside the software and teams in both Oxford and the US. Those programmes draw on the same engineers, so the central problem of this role is making sure that capacity is spent by decision, not by default. We run a centralised PMO model. This role will not own engineering headcount or define product but it will make the programme around those things run. It carries real ownership of delivery: the plan, the trade-offs put in front of decision-makers, and the honesty of the status. In this role you will interface with everyone from technical software engineers to a wide range of the most senior stakeholders. You will also coordinate with your fellow programme managers, across Science, Infrastructure and broader Software teams, making sure all plans are shared and coordinated, rather than operating in silos. Turning a research-grade quantum system into a dependable product is a problem nobody has finished solving, and the delivery standard you'll work within is being built now. If writing the first version of the plan sounds like the interesting part, we should talk. Responsibilities: In this role you will own the end-to-end delivery of the Systems Software roadmap across several concurrent programmes including managing dependencies between hardware, science and systems integration teams. You will partner closely with engineering leadership, the engineering teams run the day to day planning and boards, you will provide the direction that creates incremental milestones that ship. You will identify risks and blockers early and work with the teams to resolve them. You will also run intake and triage, so requests reach the right team with the right priority and engineers can stay focused on planned work. Key responsibilities include: Make contention visible: when two programmes need the same team in the same quarter, bring it to the right decision-maker with the options and a recommendation before it becomes a slip. Keep the systems of record honest. Requirements, plans, schedules and Jira drift apart; you'll close the gap and automate the checking. Make invisible work visible: on-call load, sustaining work and technical debt tracked as rigorously as feature delivery. Surface risks early, before you have a full solution or complete alignment. We'd rather hear it messy and on time. Run intake and triage so requests reach the right team, with priority set by the people who own it, and engineers stay on planned work. Work hand in hand with the Quantum Systems Infrastructure and Science TPMs in Oxford and the Software TPMs in the US: shared processes where teams meet, and no duplicated ceremonies, boards or reports. Write concise, plain-English status on progress, risks and decisions for programme directors, engineering leaders and senior leadership. Help shape how IonQ runs software delivery across sites, working with the Group Program Manager, Software on the shared delivery standard. Requirements: You will have significant experience running technical programmes across several software teams, ideally in systems, embedded, compiler or platform software. You can discuss scope and trade-offs directly with engineering leads, read and reason about code, and re-plan when a timeline is no longer realistic. You will have a track record of leading teams through genuine ambiguity, writing the first version of the plan when there isn't one, not just executing a defined one. You can break broad problems down into specific, assignable actions, and you have designed a team's operating cadence before. No quantum background is needed. Experience of software that works closely with hardware, for example in labs, robotics, aerospace or scientific instruments, would be beneficial. You'd be a great fit with: A habit of turning diffuse problems into specific, minimal, assignable asks. Technical fluency to engage engineering leads directly on scope and trade-offs, and comfort reading and reasoning about code. Willingness to re-baseline against reality rather than defend dates that have stopped being true, and the judgement to tell a target that motivates from one that just generates fiction. Experience with software that works closely with hardware: labs, robotics, aerospace, scientific instruments or similar. A chase-without-nagging, escalate-without-drama style, and a clear sense of the difference between a risk and a noise. AI as a core part of how you work, for example agent-driven tracking, reconciliation or reporting. Clear, concise written and verbal communication with both technical and senior stakeholders. Additional desirable skills include capacity and staffing modelling, designing operating cadences and experience leading work across sites and time zones. Experience working with programmes and systems such as Jira, Confluence and GitHub, with a preference for lightweight processes, is also helpful. Compensation will vary based on individual factors such as education, qualifications, and experience of the final candidate(s), specific office location, and calibration against relevant market data and internal team equity. Posted base salary figures are subject to change as new market data becomes available. Our benefits include comprehensive medical, dental, and vision plans, matching 401(k), unlimited PTO and paid holidays, parental/adoption leave, legal insurance, and a home technology stipend. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided when a candidate receives an offer of employment. At IonQ, we believe in fair treatment, access, opportunity, and advancement for all while striving to identify and eliminate barriers. We empower employees to thrive by fostering a culture of autonomy, productivity, and respect. We are dedicated to creating an environment where individuals can feel welcomed, respected, supported, and valued. We are committed to equity and justice. We welcome different voices and viewpoints and do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, ancestry, physical and/or mental disability, medical condition, genetic information, marital status, sex, gender, gender identity, gender expression, transgender status, age, sexual orientation, military or veteran status, or any other basis protected by law. We are proud to be an Equal Employment Opportunity employer. US Technical Jobs. The position you are applying for will require access to technology that is subject to U.S. export control and government contract restrictions. Employment with IonQ is contingent on either verifying "U.S. Person" (e.g., U.S. citizen, U.S. national, U.S. permanent resident, or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum) status for export controls and government contracts work, obtaining any necessary license, and/or confirming the availability of a license exception under U.S. export controls. Please note that in the absence of confirming you are a U.S. Person for export control and government contracts work purposes, IonQ may choose not to apply for a license or decline to use a license exception (if available) for you to access export-controlled technology that may require authorization, and similarly, you may not qualify for government contracts work that requires U.S. Persons, and IonQ may decline to proceed with your application on those bases alone. Accordingly, we will have some additional questions regarding your immigration status that will be used for export control and compliance purposes, and the answers will be reviewed by compliance personnel to ensure compliance with federal law. US Non-Technical Jobs. Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum. Accordingly, we will have some additional questions regarding your immigration status that will be used for export control and compliance purposes, and the answers will be reviewed by compliance personnel to ensure compliance with federal law. About Wolt At Wolt, we create technology that brings joy, simplicity and earnings to the neighborhoods of the world. In 2014 we started with delivery of restaurant food. Now we're building the delivery of (almost) everything and you'll find us in over 500 cities in 30 countries around the world. In 2022 we joined forces with DoorDash and together we keep on dreaming big and expanding across the globe. Working at Wolt isn't always easy, but it's definitely exciting. Here you'll learn more, build more, and ship more than in most other companies. You'll be challenged a lot, but also have a lot of fun on the way. So, if you're a self-starter with drive and entrepreneurial spirit, this could be the ride of your life. About the Team Our Infrastructure teams build the foundation that engineers at Wolt, Deliveroo, and DoorDash build on: the compute, cloud, and networking capabilities that enable Engineering teams to develop, deploy, and run services at global scale. The EU Compute team has a specific focus on provisioning, scaling, and the efficient operation of GPU infrastructure for AI and ML workloads. This is an emerging space with plenty of greenfield opportunities. We're looking for a Staff Engineer to be a hands-on technical leader for this infrastructure work that crosses team and brand boundaries. You'll set direction for the platform, turn complex problems into deliverable plans, write and review production code, and help other engineers make sound decisions. It's an exciting time to join: we're building a global platform and the choices made now will shape how engineers across the company ship for years. What you'll be doing You'll own some of the hardest infrastructure problems in the company and make the platform easier to operate and safer to build on. We're determined to build great platform products and user experiences, and you'll be pivotal in making this reality. Day-to-day in this role you'll: Set technical direction for shared AWS and Kubernetes infrastructure, balancing reliability, security, developer experience, and cost. Lead substantial initiatives from design through rollout and operation, coordinating dependencies and decisions across Wolt, Deliveroo and DoorDash, focusing on workloads targeting GPUs. Evolve Kubernetes clusters, cloud networking, identity, and infrastructure provisioning to support growing and varied workloads. Build reusable Terraform patterns and self-service tooling that help teams provision infrastructure safely and consistently. Improve deployment and operational practices, including GitOps, observability, capacity planning, incident response and recovery. Use production signals and developer feedback to find platform friction, choose where to invest and measure whether changes actually help. Assist with supporting the platform, with deep focus on GPU infrastructure, as well as broad focus on compute in general. Gracefully sunset legacy infrastructure and tooling, and create strategies to reduce toil. Mentor engineers through design reviews, implementation and incidents, raising the quality of infrastructure work across teams. Our humble expectations Deep experience building and operating Kubernetes and AWS infrastructure in production. Familiarity with GPU workloads and orchestration is a plus. Strong software engineering skills: you use Go, Python or a similar language to build maintainable tools and automation. Experience with infrastructure as code (we use Terraform) and with designing systems that other engineering teams depend on. A track record of leading complex technical work across teams, including architectural decisions, delivery, and operational follow-through. You have the breadth to collaborate and design across team and domain boundaries, and the depth to have hands-on impact. Strong judgment on trade-offs in distributed systems, networking, security, reliability, and cloud cost. Clear communication, and the ability to bring people together around a practical technical direction. What we offer Scope and influence. Shape infrastructure used globally, while staying close to the engineering. Your work will help product teams ship services with greater ease and confidence. Real problems at global scale. Multi-cluster Kubernetes, AI / ML workloads, cloud networking, GitOps, and progressive delivery across a global company. Autonomy and ownership. Set direction and see it through from design to operation, with the backing of a global engineering organisation spanning Europe and the US. Growth. Room to expand your scope, whether through deeper technical leadership or broader cross-domain influence. Great people. Work with talented engineers and leaders in a diverse, international environment, mentoring and learning from others. Our Commitment to Diversity and Inclusion We're committed to growing and empowering a more inclusive community within our company, industry, and cities. That's why we hire and cultivate diverse teams of people from all backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives. We believe that true innovation happens when everyone has room at the table and the tools, resources, and opportunity to excel. Beware of recruitment scams: DoorDash, Deliveroo, and Wolt will never ask you to pay money or share sensitive financial information during hiring — learn more about our legitimate recruiting process at Recruitment Scam Awareness - DoorDash . We are looking for an experienced, hands-on Lead AI Engineer in our Data & AI Platform Engineering team to drive our LLMOps roadmap and our most business-critical agentic use cases; someone who is deeply passionate about building, prototyping, and scaling modern AI/LLM systems, while leading a small team. This is a high-impact, high-visibility role for a senior builder who excels at the intersection of cutting-edge AI technologies (Agentic frameworks, LLM orchestration, MCP, GenAI, MLOps) and production-grade software engineering . You will lead a focused team of engineers and work directly with software engineers and product leaders to design, prototype, and ship state-of-the-art AI systems into production, while acting as the link with our Data Science team to align priorities with their needs and spread best practices. If you are a senior AI engineer looking for the next step in your career, where you can lead people and shape a roadmap without giving up hands-on coding and building , this role is for you. WHAT YOU'LL DO Build agentic systems (hands-on): design and ship production-grade agentic workflows (LLM orchestration, tool calling, MCP, RAG, structured outputs), and define reference architectures that decide what a model handles and what deterministic code handles. Own LLMOps standards: evaluation harnesses, prompt and agent versioning, tracing (OpenTelemetry), cost and token governance, and release gates, with tenant-aware patterns that respect client data isolation. Run & Serve Open-Weight Models: Partner closely with our Cloud Ops team to design and deploy the architecture required to self-host open-weight foundation models internally. You will own the inference layer and model optimizations (latency, throughput), while collaborating seamlessly with Cloud Ops on GPU resource provisioning and cluster management. Push the frontier: run time-boxed POCs on emerging techniques, such as relational foundation models for claims fraud detection or agentic ingestion of medical billing sources to generate claim edits, with clear success criteria and a path to production. Lead and grow the team: coach and develop 2 to 5 people, raise the technical bar through design and code reviews, and partner with product, SMEs, architecture, security and SRE. WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR Agentic AI expertise: proven experience building production agentic systems (Microsoft Agent Framework, OpenAI Agents SDK, PydanticAI, LangGraph or custom), and strong command of tool calling, MCP, RAG and evaluation. MLOps and engineering: high proficiency in Python; hands-on experience with experiment tracking, model registry, serving and monitoring (ideally Databricks and MLflow); backend services on Azure, Kubernetes, Terraform and event-driven patterns. Applied ML curiosity: solid ML foundations, ability to judge new approaches critically; exposure to graph ML, fraud or claims data is a plus. Software design: high proficiency in Python and strong experience with OOP; proven ability to design robust, maintainable software systems and write clean code, applying the right design patterns and software engineering best practices. Leadership: experience leading technical initiatives across stakeholders, and coaching or managing technical contributors (or a clear motivation to do so). English fluency required; French is a plus. HOW YOU WORK (Shift High-Impact Behaviors) Jump in and get things done: You are a proactive builder who loves turning ambitious ideas into working code. You don't wait for permission to solve hard problems. Make things simpler: You can break down complex AI concepts and architectures into clear, executable steps for engineers, data scientists, and non-technical partners alike. Test & learn new things: You are genuinely obsessed with the fast-moving AI landscape. You constantly experiment with new models, libraries, and papers, and know how to extract real product value from the hype. Onboard Software Engineer - Deployment & Runtime Environments
Full TimeOn-siteMid
pythongorustdockerkubernetesjenkins+9

Wanna join the adventure? Loft's Onboard Software group provides the on-orbit software that powers our satellite fleet — from the Linux services running on the hub processor, to the containerized workloads executing customer applications in low Earth orbit. The Deployment & Runtime Environments team is where software meets the satellite. We own how software gets packaged, deployed, and executed onboard: from the tool that assembles and maintains mission-specific software stacks, to the Runtime Container Environment that lets partner and customer workloads run securely in orbit, to the Linux infrastructure that makes it all reliable. As more satellite programs come online and as we open our container runtime to a growing number of external workloads, the team's scope is expanding fast. We're looking for someone scrappy — the kind of engineer who digs into an unfamiliar system, maps it out, and gets it shipped without needing the path handed to them. You'll move between Linux internals, container runtimes, and CI pipelines, sometimes in the same afternoon. About this role: Contribute to and evolve our bundle management tool — the tool that resolves package dependencies, assembles mission-specific software stacks, and enables the Solutions team to spin up and maintain an ever-growing number of satellite programs Develop and harden our onboard Linux infrastructure : how services are deployed on the rootfs, what system manages their execution, and how we ensure reliable and recoverable Linux operation in orbit Evolve our Runtime Container Environment — the container manager and the full stack around it (base images, container registry service) — enabling partner and customer workloads to run securely onboard our vehicles Support scaling of the deployment pipeline as new hardware platforms are added and the number of active satellite programs grows Contribute to Product Validation — as the last step in the development pipeline, the team plays a key role in validating software readiness before it goes to orbit Design, implement, and refine software with a high degree of ownership, driving features from concept through delivery Participate in code reviews, design proposals, and the continuous improvement of development processes Must Haves: Strong understanding of containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, or similar runtimes) Deep Linux system knowledge: boot process, service management, filesystem layout, and failure recovery Experience with CI/CD pipelines (GitLab-CI, Jenkins, or similar) Proficiency with Git and collaborative development workflows Experience with embedded or resource-constrained systems Working Python Nice to Haves: Understanding of software deployment strategies for critical or hard-to-reach systems — OTA updates for cars, drones, or consumer hardware, or software updates on satellites — including concepts like golden images, A/B partitions, staged rollouts, and safe rollback C++ knowledge Experience with CUE (cuelang) Familiarity with additional programming languages such as Go or Rust Experience with embedded Linux: Yocto, device trees, systemd, and Linux on ARM platforms Proficiency with unit test frameworks (e.g., pytest, Googletest, Unity) Experience with middleware frameworks (gRPC, ZMQ/NATS, etc.) Some of Our Awesome Benefits: Equity, we want you to have an active role in our success Up to 35 days of Paid Time Off (vacations & RTT ) and flexible working hours, we want you to be at your best Health and life insurance, we care about your health Lunch Vouchers, because let's be honest, we love food! (we even have a slack channel about it #loft-gourmand ) Cross-office travel opportunities between San Francisco, Colorado, and Toulouse to learn from our differences Company and team off-sites and many other events to work & celebrate together Relocation assistance to Toulouse when applicable * Research shows that while men apply to jobs where they meet an average of 60% of the criteria, women and other underrepresented people tend to only apply when they meet 100% of the qualifications. At Loft, we value respectful debate and people who aren't afraid to challenge assumptions. We strongly encourage you to apply, even if you don't check all the boxes. Who We Are Loft: Space Made Simple. Founded in 2017, Loft provides governments, companies, and research institutions with a fast, reliable, and simple way to deploy missions in orbit. We integrate, launch, and operate spacecraft, offering end-to-end missions as a service across Earth observation, IoT connectivity, on-orbit AI, national security missions, and more. Leveraging our existing space infrastructure and an extensive inventory of satellite buses, Loft is reducing years-long integration and launch timelines to months. With more than 30 missions flown, Loft's flight heritage and proven technologies enable customers to focus on their mission objectives. With a growing fleet on track to reach 30 satellites by 2027, we are scaling up quickly across our offices in San Francisco, CA | Golden, CO | and Toulouse, France to meet accelerating demand for space infrastructure. A World-Changing Company Palantir builds the world's leading software for data-driven decisions and operations. By bringing the right data to the people who need it, our platforms empower our partners to develop lifesaving drugs, forecast supply chain disruptions, locate missing children, and more. The Role Forward Deployed Software Engineers (FDSEs) work directly with customers to quickly understand their greatest problems and design and implement solutions to use data against them. Our customers rely on Palantir's platforms for some of their most critical operations, and projects often start with an open-ended question like, "How do we evaluate wildfire risk and optimise a power grid as a result" or "How do we quickly assess our food supply chain and modify it to deliver life saving assistance on time?" As an FDSE, you'll apply your problem solving ability, creativity, and technical skills to help organisations use their data to drive a real impact in the world. You'll have the opportunity to gain rare insight into and contribute to some of the world's most important industries and institutions. Core Responsibilities As an FDSE Intern, your responsibilities look similar to those at a small startup, with the resources, stability and mentorship of an established tech company. You'll work in small teams with minimal supervision and own end-to-end execution of high stakes projects. Your day might span discussing architecture with fellow engineers, wrangling massive-scale data, coding a custom web app, speaking with customer executives, or establishing strategy for your team. FDSE Interns are treated just like full time engineers, with significant freedom and ownership over their work. Interns take responsibility for real world projects and outcomes that our customers rely on. Our Principles: Impact: We address meaningful and exciting projects that change the world for the better. Ownership: We see projects through from beginning to end, working through any obstacles we may encounter. We trust each other to effectively handle time and priorities and give people the space to think for themselves. Collaboration: We work internally with people from a variety of backgrounds — such as other FDSEs, product teams, and Deployment Strategists. We also work externally with our customers, often on site, to understand and tackle their problems. Growth: We believe experiential learning is one of the best teachers and encourage ourselves and our peers to seek new challenges and opportunities for growth, as well as find new ways to innovate and share knowledge. What We Value Willingness and interest to travel as needed to client sites. Ability to travel 25-50% preferred, but requirements vary by team and location. Ability to continuously learn, work independently, and make decisions with minimal direction. Ability to collaborate in teams of technical and non-technical individuals, and comfortable working in a constantly evolving environment with dynamic objectives and iteration with users. An eagerness to creatively solve technical problems with data structures, storage systems, cloud infrastructure, front-end frameworks, and other technical tools. Interest in working with and using large scale data to solve valuable business problems. What We Require Engineering background, preferred in fields such as Computer Science, Mathematics, Software Engineering, Physics, and Data Science. Proficiency with one or more programming languages, such as Python, Java, C++, TypeScript/JavaScript, or similar. Must be planning on graduating in 2027. This should be your final internship before graduating. To apply, please submit the following: An updated resume / CV Thoughtful responses to our application questions Offer Deadline In an effort to build more transparency into our recruitment process, we'd like to share our offer deadline expectations.
