Why you should join the Mobile App Growth team The Mobile App Growth team's mission is to enable Klaviyo customers to develop and maintain personalized relationships with their mobile app users through rich mobile app experiences. The team is part of the Mobile App Marketing org and owns Klaviyo's mobile SDKs — the foundational layer that enables customers to integrate Klaviyo into their mobile apps. We maintain native and wrapper SDKs across iOS, Android, React Native, Expo, and Flutter. This role is open to fully remote work from within The United States As a Natural Extension Of The SDK, The Team Also Builds And Maintains Adjacent Mobile Products That Are Enabled By It In-app messaging — including the in-app messaging publishing and scheduling pipeline Universal linking — universal links settings pages and web tier Geofencing That product list keeps expanding — this year alone the team is greenfielding several new features, including mobile inbox. We're looking for passionate engineers who want to roll up their sleeves and grow beyond just Android into the other areas the team owns. How You'll Make An Impact Design, build, and ship features and fixes to the Android SDK — your primary area of ownership — used across a huge range of third-party apps and OS versions/devices. Pitch in on our other mobile SDKs (iOS, React Native, Expo, and Flutter) when priorities call for it; you don't need to be an expert everywhere, but you should be willing to get hands-on. Contribute to the backend services, infrastructure, and embedded web UI that power products like in-app messaging, universal linking, and geofencing — including newer greenfield work like mobile inbox. Diagnose and resolve SDK issues reported by customers. Write clean, well-tested code and participate in code and design review. Collaborate with product and other engineering teams to keep tracking and messaging behavior consistent across platforms. Contribute to documentation, sample apps, and integration guides that customers use to adopt the SDKs. Who You Are Android-first — 1-3 years of professional Android development experience, ideally including Kotlin; this is your core strength and primary focus. Self-motivated — you don't need heavy oversight to make progress; you take a problem, figure out the right questions, and drive it to done. High ownership — you treat outcomes as yours end-to-end, not just the code you personally typed. As AI tooling raises how much one engineer can credibly own, this matters more than it used to. Adaptable — willing to pick up iOS, backend, or frontend work when it falls under the team's ownership; you don't need to be an expert everywhere. Production-tested — experience shipping and maintaining production Android code, with a solid grasp of the Android lifecycle, threading, and Gradle. Comfortable in the weeds — used to debugging across a wide matrix of devices, OS versions, and third-party app environments, since SDK work means you don't control the host app. Quality-minded — familiar with testing practices (unit, integration, instrumentation) and CI/CD for mobile. Clear communicator — you'll work with customers' engineering teams as well as your own. Curious — comfortable with webviews and location services, and open to picking up new technologies (Python, React, AWS) as the team's surface area grows. Bonus: experience building or maintaining an SDK/library (versus an app), exposure to iOS/Swift or backend services, familiarity with push notification/messaging systems, or contributions to open source. Technologies We Use (not exhaustive) iOS (Swift) Android (Kotlin) React Native Flutter React, TypeScript, Redux Python, Django MySQL, Redis, DynamoDB AWS (EC2, RDS, Aurora), Terraform Massachusetts Applicants It is unlawful in Massachusetts to require or administer a lie detector test as a condition of employment or continued employment. About Andercore Andercore is the AI-native supplier of industrial materials and goods for energy and infrastructure. We execute trade and distribution end-to-end, on our own account, at the speed of compute - and we are becoming the supplier of record for the entire industry. Industrial procurement is a €900B market in Europe alone and the largest manual market on earth. 95% of customers have no direct access to global supply chains. Materials pass through four or five intermediaries before they reach a site, and 40% of the margin evaporates on the way. For decades, the operating system of this industry was people: people to source, negotiate, finance, ship, and sell. We built the alternative from scratch. We are the supplier. We buy from global sources and sell to European customers on our own account. Our AI runs the full trade: sourcing, quality, pricing, sales, logistics, credit, and financing. One request. A firm quote in minutes. Delivered on time. For the customer, it feels like buying from their preferred local supplier. No warehouses. No fleet. No inventory risk. Every trade is pre-sold before it is bought. We are also the credit counterparty. Customers are scored and insured in minutes and get up to 60 days of payment terms priced into the quote itself. The working capital behind every trade is bank-funded, not equity-funded. Where we are today: Strong triple-digit-million euro turnover run rate, the majority of it from repeat customers Seven European markets live, sourced from suppliers across Asia and beyond 80+ people across Berlin (HQ), London, and Shanghai $90M raised in equity and debt, including our $40M Series B, from Atomico, Project A, Target Global, and Inven Capital - with working capital facilities from UniCredit and KfW The margin is in the bits. The moat is in the atoms. We are building the supplier of record for industrial materials - and redefining how global trade works in one of the largest and most essential industries on earth. About the role Andercore runs global trade end to end, from sourcing and pricing to sales, logistics and financing, and AI agents do a growing share of that work. Order values are high and prices and stock change daily, so the systems underneath have to be fast, correct and reliable at all times. As a Staff Engineer, you own our hardest technical problems and set the architecture across teams. You focus on what a fast-growing trading business cannot afford to get wrong: speed, reliability, security and observability. You report to our VP Engineering and work closely with our Senior Product Engineers, QA and product managers. You stay hands-on: you write code, review designs and raise the bar for everyone around you Tech stack Java 21 and Spring Boot 3, Python, LangGraph and LLM APIs (OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini), PostgreSQL, Kinesis, AWS with Terraform, GitHub Actions, and TypeScript with Node.js, Next.js and React. Including Salesforce, which we are moving our transaction core out of. What you will do Set the technical direction across teams: define the target architecture, write the RFCs behind big decisions, and make sure teams build towards the same picture. Lead the hardest technical work yourself, from design to production, instead of only advising on it. Shape the carve-out of our transaction core from Salesforce into a modern, modular core system, with a migration path that never disrupts daily trading. Make reliability, security and observability part of how we build: monitoring, alerting, incident response and postmortems that lead to real changes. Design how our AI agents act safely on money-touching paths, with evaluations, guardrails, audit trails and human review where it matters. Set standards for correctness and data integrity, including idempotency, validation and testing, together with QA. Mentor engineers through design reviews, pairing and direct feedback, and help us hire by defining what great engineering looks like at Andercore. In your first six months, you might Design the architecture of our pricing engine so it scales with a growing assortment and more markets, and serves correct prices to sales, and later directly to customers, in milliseconds. Lay out the target architecture and first steps for moving our transaction core off Salesforce. Build the observability and incident setup that lets us catch problems before customers or colleagues notice them What you bring At least 8 years of experience building and running software in production, including systems where errors cost real money. Deep backend expertise at production scale in Java or a comparable language such as Kotlin, C# or Go, and willingness to work in Java and Spring Boot. A track record of setting architecture across several teams, through influence rather than a management title. Experience designing transactional, distributed and event-driven systems, with a strong focus on correctness, failure modes and performance. Hands-on depth in reliability, security and observability, and experience leading incidents and postmortems. Experience in a fast-growing company, and a track record of solving business problems, not only technical ones. AI is part of your daily work. Experience building or evaluating AI agents in production is a strong plus. Experience with re-platforming or carving out systems from a platform like Salesforce or an ERP is a plus Practical details Location: Berlin, hybrid Working language: English A learning budget for your development Start date: As soon as possible We are an equal-opportunity employer and welcome applicants from all backgrounds, regardless of race, ethnicity, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, religion, age, disability, or any other characteristic. We believe that diversity drives innovation, creativity, and collective strength. Find more English Speaking Jobs in Germany on Arbeitnow

We Are Sparta Sparta is the AI leader for commodity trading, home to Leonidas AI, the first operating system for oil and commodity traders. Backed by $42 million in Series B funding led by One Peak, with participation from returning investors FirstMark and Singular, the same investors behind AI leaders like Legora, Dataiku, and Synthesia. Most companies are building a chatbot on top of data. We've built an agent with an actual reasoning layer, grounded in years of proprietary market data and in-house trading expertise nobody else has. We're scaling fast, and it's an exciting time to join. From independents to multinationals, the world's leading commodity teams use Sparta and Leonidas AI to move faster, trade smarter, and stay ahead of the market. At Sparta, you'll be trusted to take ownership, backed by a team who wants you to succeed. AI is how we build here, not just what we sell. Good ideas move fast, and yours could go from staging to production in a couple of hours, whatever department you're in. You'll be challenged, supported, and given room to grow, building the AI that's changing how commodity trading gets done. Your work has reach. From shaping Leonidas AI, to powering smarter decisions for traders around the world, to changing how commodity trading is done. And because we're growing fast, you'll accelerate your career with a level of ownership and impact you simply won't get at bigger, slower-moving companies. At Sparta, we're on a mission to build the next generation of commodity trading platforms - replacing the fragmented tools that traders typically rely on with a single, powerful dashboard. Our product is a data-driven platform that aggregates real-time feeds from across the commodities domain, transforming them into intuitive, actionable visualisations within one unified interface. Traders act on what they see in Sparta. That makes reliability a product feature, not an afterthought - and it's why this role exists. This is a deliberate 50/50 split. Half your time is backend engineering: designing and building the distributed services and pipelines that move real-time market data through our platform. The other half is reliability engineering: making those systems observable, resilient, and cheap to operate. If you've ever shipped a service and then wished you owned how it ran in production, this is that job. We've kept the split explicit rather than tidy. Our Platform Engineering team owns the shared platform, tooling and automation; you'll be a close partner to them, and the reliability of your own services is yours. We're looking for people who thrive in an empowered environment - engineers who are comfortable being given problems to solve rather than solutions to implement. You should enjoy working at pace, value autonomy, and prefer to ask for forgiveness rather than permission. Whereas Sparta is a remote-first company, for this role we're looking for someone who values a hybrid working style, which in a typical week could involve spending a couple of days in the office - with flexibility built in. WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING: Backend engineering Design, build and maintain the backend services behind our real-time and analytical data processing. Optimise pipelines and services for low latency, high throughput and scale. Own features end to end, from shaping the approach to running them in production. Contribute to design reviews with a clear view on the trade-offs. Reliability engineering Own the operational health of your services. Define what healthy means, then measure it. Improve observability, monitoring and alerting in Datadog, so problems surface before a trader notices. Take part in incident response, then close the loop on the root cause. Work with our runtime across Lambda, ECS and EKS, and help move more workloads onto Kubernetes. Help operate the data and streaming infrastructure you depend on: Kafka, Flink, Redis/Valkey, RDS, Redshift. Extend our infrastructure as code in AWS CDK, and our CI/CD pipelines. Reduce toil. Automate the manual, delete the unnecessary, make the next incident less likely. ABOUT YOU: 4+ years as a software or reliability engineer, with production systems you've built and supported. High ownership tendencies. Genuine interest in both halves of this role. You want to write the service and own how it runs. Strong in at least one of Kotlin, Java, Python or TypeScript. A solid working understanding of AWS - compute, networking, storage, IAM - from running things in production. Hands-on with infrastructure as code: AWS CDK, Terraform, CloudFormation or similar. Practical experience running container workloads on Kubernetes: deploying, debugging, tuning. Experience with CI/CD tooling and a clear view of a good delivery lifecycle. A habit of instrumenting what you build - metrics, logging, tracing. Experience being on the hook for production, incident response included, and calm when things are on fire. Experience defining or working to service-level objectives, or a clear sense of how you'd start. A strong urge to own and improve things - to spot what isn't working and fix it. Comfortable with agent-based development tools. We use Claude Code; any equivalent is fine. A clear communicator and a pragmatic problem-solver. NICE TO HAVE EXPERIENCE: Building or operating a platform on Kubernetes, EKS especially. Datadog specifically. Data or streaming systems: Kafka, Flink, Redshift, clustered Postgres. Working to error budgets, and using them to make real prioritisation calls. Security and compliance best practice in cloud environments. Complex distributed environments - high throughput, low latency, large datasets. Any exposure to commodities, energy or financial markets. Useful, but we'll teach you the domain. Why Join Sparta? At Sparta, our culture is built on innovation, collaboration, and high performance. We thrive in a fast-paced environment where initiative is celebrated, challenges are embraced, and impact is rewarded. • Equity in a high-growth, VC-backed company • $42M in Series B funding — strong market traction and investment • Early-stage growth — build your career as we scale • Market-leading product — we are redefining commodity trading intelligence • Top-tier tools and technology to support your success What's the Culture Like at Sparta? At Sparta, our culture isn't just a set of values on a wall — it's how we work. We embrace a dynamic environment where initiative is celebrated, challenges are met head-on, and innovation thrives. You'll collaborate with people who are passionate about our mission and committed to building outstanding products and outcomes for our customers. The Sparta Code Understanding is non-negotiable Understanding leads to believing. Believing leads to winning. The 'why' is the difference between compliance and conviction. Before we execute, we ask: why does this matter, who does it serve, what changes if we win? People who understand the mission don't need to be managed. Ask for forgiveness, not for permission Most decisions are reversible. Most fears are not. 90% of decisions are reversible. Make them, ship, iterate. Perfection is the enemy of efficiency. Bias for action means moving before you have all the answers, but it isn't recklessness. The rule: tell the rest of us what you did, what changed, what you learned. Fall in love with the problem The mission wins. Your idea doesn't have to. Solutions flatter our ego. They feel like progress. But solutions without problems are opinions, and opinions don't move customers, markets, or teammates. The goal is to find what's true, not to win the room. If your idea gets killed because a better one comes along, that's the system working. It's your fault. Lucky you. If it's on you, it's in your control. True ownership sounds harsh until you feel how liberating it is. If every problem is yours, you stop spending energy on who to blame and start spending it on how to fix it. Effective leaders default to 'it's on me'. Not out of guilt, but out of agency. Conflict is a gift Honesty is an expression of care. Withholding feedback is choosing comfort over growth, yours and your colleague's. Staying silent deprives others of the chance to learn. We challenge openly and with positive intent. Done with care, this builds trust. Done with ego, it destroys it. Sparta Commodities is proud to be an equal opportunity employer and promotes diversity within its workforce. We are determined that no-one will ever receive less favourable treatment on the grounds of gender, age, disability, religion, belief, sexual orientation, marital status, race, veteran status or any basis covered by appropriate law.
