MongoDB's Global Security Organization (GSO) is looking for a Principal Security Engineer. The GSO secures MongoDB's products, infrastructure, and the trust our customers place in us — spanning product security, corporate security, and risk, and working across engineering, go-to-market, and corporate development to keep security moving at the same speed as the business. The Principal Security Engineer will serve as a senior technical anchor for the team. This is a deep individual-contributor role that will stay hands-on with hard security and architecture problems, form sharp independent opinions, and know how to debate, align, and commit once GSO has made a call.   Key topic areas will include collaborating with our product teams to ensure identity and permission models meet customer needs for our new autonomous agent platform and working with integration security teams to push the envelope on automated detection, reproduction, and remediation of security vulnerabilities via AI.  What we need here is depth, judgment, and the ability to build up the bench of senior technical talent around you. This role can be based out of our NYC or Seattle office or remotely in the North America region. Responsibilities Maintain real technical depth in security and in MongoDB's product architecture — compute, network, and storage — deep enough to evaluate actual risk rather than apply generic best practice Form independent, well-reasoned opinions on security and architecture decisions, and voice them even when they cut against consensus or a leader's default plan Push teams to move faster when process or over-engineering is introducing complexity without reducing risk — and push teams to slow down when GTM pressure is outrunning a clear-eyed view of the risk Debate hard, then align, then commit: help the org land on the right call, then execute on it Seed and grow a working community of senior ICs embedded in security operations, product security, and enterprise security — connecting people, sharing knowledge, and creating the venues (formal or informal) for that to happen Lead time-boxed, high-stakes, cross-functional engagements such as M&A security due diligence and partner risk assessments, often with incomplete information and a short runway Draw on your own expertise where it applies, and quickly figure out how to close knowledge gaps elsewhere — staying accountable for the outcome either way Requirements 12+ years of experience in security engineering, software engineering, or a related discipline, including senior individual-contributor or technical-lead experience Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience Deep, credible technical expertise in security, plus working depth across compute, network, and storage architecture A track record of forming and defending independent technical positions, along with the judgment to know when to stop debating and commit Experience influencing without formal authority, including with management and cross-functional partners, in both directions — accelerating and slowing down decisions Comfort owning ambiguous, deadline-driven work such as M&A diligence or partner risk reviews, and being accountable for the result even without the full picture upfront A genuine interest in mentoring and connecting other senior engineers, without needing a management title to do it Don't feel that you meet all of the requirements? We encourage you to apply anyway — studies show strong candidates sometimes rule themselves out prematurely. MongoDB has a diverse, inclusive, equitable, and high-performing environment, and we want to keep improving our ability to deliver for customers. Nice to Haves Direct experience leading M&A security due diligence or partner/vendor risk assessments Background spanning multiple layers of the stack (e.g., network and storage, or application and infrastructure security) A history of building or growing technical communities of practice Success in This Role Means Leadership trusts your technical judgment on the hardest, most ambiguous calls Your willingness to disagree — in either direction, faster or slower — makes decisions better, not just louder A real community of senior security talent has formed around you in GSO About MongoDB MongoDB is built for change, empowering our customers and our people to innovate at the speed of the market. We have redefined the data platform for the AI era, enabling builders to create, transform, and disrupt industries with software. MongoDB's unified data platform, the most widely available, globally distributed data platform on the market, helps organizations modernize legacy workloads, embrace innovation, and unleash AI. With offices worldwide and over 67,000 customers, including AI-native startups and approximately 75% of the Fortune 100, relying on MongoDB for their most important applications, we're powering the next era of software. Our compass at MongoDB is our Leadership Commitment, guiding how and why we make decisions, show up for each other, and win. About Us At Cloudflare, we are on a mission to help build a better Internet. Today the company runs one of the world's largest networks that powers millions of websites and other Internet properties for customers ranging from individual bloggers to SMBs to Fortune 500 companies. Cloudflare protects and accelerates any Internet application online without adding hardware, installing software, or changing a line of code. Internet properties powered by Cloudflare all have web traffic routed through its intelligent global network, which gets smarter with every request. As a result, they see significant improvement in performance and a decrease in spam and other attacks. Cloudflare was named to Entrepreneur Magazine's Top Company Cultures list and ranked among the World's Most Innovative Companies by Fast Company. At Cloudflare, we're not looking for people who wait for a polished roadmap; we're looking for the builders who see the cracks in the Internet that everyone else has simply learned to live with. We value candidates who have the instinct to spot a "normalized" problem and the AI-native curiosity to create a solution using the latest tools. Our culture is built on iteration, leveraging AI to ship faster today to make it better tomorrow, while ensuring that every improvement, no matter how small, is shared across the team to lift everyone up. If you're the type of person who values curiosity over bureaucracy, and that AI is a partner in solving tough problems to keep the Internet moving forward, you'll fit right in. Available Locations: Austin TX, San Francisco CA, NYC, Atlanta GA OR Denver CO About the role The GTM Intelligence team helps Cloudflare's go-to-market organization make faster, better decisions with trusted data. We work with Sales, Technical Sales, Services, Finance, and our central Data teams to make sure the people who sell, deploy, and support Cloudflare get consistent, reliable answers to the questions that matter most. We're looking for a Senior GTM Analytics Manager to set and execute the vision for how information scales across Cloudflare's technical customer-facing teams. You'll support Pre- and Post-Sales Operations, Solutions Engineering, Forward Deployed Engineering, and Professional Services. This role is less about building more dashboards or doing one-off deep dives and more about building the foundations to support true self-serve analytics.  You will focus on single source of truth artifacts, strategic alignment of metrics to actions, and the data models, metric definitions, and context layers that let anyone in these organizations get a trustworthy answer that fits their needs. That person might be an executive, a frontline manager, an engineer in the field, or an AI agent working for any of them. You'll be a technical expert and a strategic partner in one. You'll be as comfortable reviewing a dimensional model with Data Engineering as you are agreeing a metric definition with a VP of Professional Services. And you'll be our go-to voice on how analytics should change now that more and more questions get answered through AI. This is a senior individual contributor role with wide influence and no direct reports. What you'll do Define and drive a multi-year strategy for how Pre-Sales, Post-Sales, Solutions Engineering, FDE, and Professional Services find, trust, and use data, including a maturity model and a phased roadmap. Act as a thought leader on scaling information in an AI-first world, working out how semantic layers, governed metrics, and well-built context let AI assistants and agents give accurate, consistent answers grounded in our business. Review the current mix of dashboards, reports, and tools across these teams. Create a plan to consolidate them, retire duplicates, and move toward a single source of truth. Define, document, and carry out the official metrics for the teams you support.  Keep metric definitions aligned with corporate definitions from Finance and Data, and resolve conflicts between teams with clear, defensible logic. Act as the main business and technical partner to the central Data team for the stakeholders you support.  Influence and review the design of data models across systems such as Salesforce, professional services tools, product usage and telemetry, support, and finance. Design how people get answers: self-serve access, natural-language and AI-assisted querying, embedded insights in daily workflows, and curated metric catalogs. Set up a formal intake and governance process for new metric and data requests, including prioritization, ownership, certification, and change management. Build trusted relationships with leaders in Sales, Solutions Engineering, FDE, Professional Services, Customer Success, Operations, Finance, and Data. Explain complex technical and analytical ideas clearly to executives so they can make decisions. Desirable Skills, Knowledge, and Experience: 8+ years in analytics, business intelligence, analytics engineering, or GTM/Services operations at a high-growth B2B SaaS or technology company. Direct experience supporting at least one of the following: Pre- or Post-Sales Operations, Solutions/Sales Engineering, Forward Deployed Engineering, Professional Services, or Customer Success. You understand how these teams work, how they're measured, and how their data is created. Deep data modeling expertise, including dimensional modeling, entity design, and metric layer design. You can review and challenge a data model, not just consume one. Expert SQL skills and hands-on experience with modern data stack tools such as BigQuery, dbt, or a semantic/metrics layer (for example dbt Semantic Layer, LookML, or Cube). Strong working knowledge of GTM and services systems data, such as Salesforce, professional services automation tools, and product usage or telemetry data. A clear, informed view on how AI changes analytics, including semantic layers, retrieval and context design for LLMs, text-to-SQL, and agent-based access to governed data, plus the data foundations those need to be accurate. A track record of defining and rolling out source-of-truth metrics across multiple stakeholder groups, including handling disagreements over definitions. Proven ability to lead complex, cross-functional programs without formal authority, and to influence executives and engineers alike. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including turning ambiguous business questions into precise technical requirements and back again. BA/BS in a quantitative, technical, or business field. A Master's in Data Science, Analytics, Computer Science, or an MBA is a plus.   Compensation Compensation may be adjusted depending on work location. If you're the type of person who values curiosity over bureaucracy, and that AI is a partner in solving tough problems to keep the Internet moving forward, you'll fit right in. Available Locations: Austin or London About the Role TLS is the connective tissue of the Internet, and Cloudflare terminates a large fraction of it. Cloudflare sits in front of more than 20 percent of global Internet request traffic and terminates TLS for millions of domains. Every day, our network handles certificate operations across products like Universal SSL, SSL for SaaS, Origin CA, Cloudflare Access, and Cloudflare Tunnel. That scale has taught us how the WebPKI ecosystem works from the consuming side.  As certificate lifetimes shorten, agentic activity increases, and post-quantum certificates move toward production, the number of certificates the Internet depends on will grow dramatically.  Cloudflare is building a certificate authority for the whole Internet: a public, redundant, transparent CA that provides another trusted source of automated certificates and helps make the encrypted web more resilient. We intend to be ACME-first, automation-first, and transparent by design. We also intend to lead where the ecosystem is going, including post-quantum certificates and Merkle Tree Certificates, while continuing to support the classic WebPKI customers rely on today. As Principal Product Manager for Cloudflare's Certificate Authority business, you will define the product strategy, roadmap, customer experience, and commercial model for this new venture. You will work across product, engineering, security, compliance, legal, operations, sales, marketing, and the WebPKI ecosystem to turn Cloudflare's CA from a major technical commitment into a product customers trust and adopt. This is an early-days role on a growing team. It is not a role for someone who only manages backlog. The right person will be comfortable with high-consequence infrastructure, deep customer discovery, ecosystem trust, compliance scrutiny, and zero-to-one product building. The decisions you make in the first year will shape how Cloudflare participates in the certificate authority market for years to come. Responsibilities Define the product strategy for Cloudflare's CA business  across publicly trusted certificates, certificate lifecycle automation, ACME issuance, renewal workflows, revocation, Certificate Transparency, customer controls, developer experience, and integrations with Cloudflare's broader platform. Build for the whole Internet  by understanding the needs of developers, site owners, platform teams, SaaS providers, enterprise security teams, infrastructure operators, and partners who depend on certificates for availability, security, and compliance. Make resilience a product principle.  Help design product requirements that fail small, reduce customer blast radius, support automated recovery, and make certificate replacement fast enough to handle compliance issues, revocation events, or ecosystem incidents. Drive an ACME-first customer experience  that makes it easy for users of existing free or automated CAs to adopt Cloudflare with minimal tooling changes. Partner closely with engineering  on systems that manage certificate lifecycles, automate issuance and renewal, integrate with HSMs, protect keys, support auditability, and operate within strict reliability and correctness requirements. Partner with compliance, legal, security, and operations  to ensure product decisions align with CA/Browser Forum Baseline Requirements, WebTrust audits, root store program policies, Certificate Policy and Certification Practice Statement commitments, and public incident response expectations. Own go-to-market strategy  including packaging, pricing, launch sequencing, competitive positioning, customer segmentation, sales enablement, developer messaging, and adoption metrics. Represent the customer and the ecosystem  in product decisions where trust, transparency, uptime, security, and commercial adoption must all be balanced. Work across Cloudflare product teams  including SSL/TLS, Application Security, Zero Trust, Workers, Registrar, DNS, Load Balancing, SaaS products, and infrastructure teams that consume or expose certificate services. Help make Cloudflare Customer Zero  by ensuring our own usage of the CA exercises the product at Cloudflare scale and informs the roadmap before customers depend on it. Desirable Skills, Knowledge and Experience 10+ years of product management experience  building technical products for developers, security teams, infrastructure teams, enterprises, or cloud platforms. Experience with security, identity, infrastructure, or developer platform products  where correctness, reliability, compliance, and trust are core product requirements. Working knowledge of PKI and certificate lifecycle management  including TLS certificates, X.509, ACME, public and private CAs, revocation, Certificate Transparency, mTLS, HSMs, and enterprise certificate automation. Strong business judgment  with experience defining product strategy, pricing and packaging, customer segmentation, and go-to-market plans for technical B2B products. Ability to operate in ambiguity  and create structure around a new business, including market definition, customer discovery, roadmap tradeoffs, launch planning, and executive alignment. Technical fluency with engineering teams  and comfort discussing APIs, distributed systems, key management, audit trails, reliability, operational failure modes, and security tradeoffs. Strong written communication  for strategy documents, product requirements, launch narratives, customer-facing messaging, and high-stakes internal decisions. Comfort with high-consequence work.  A mis-issued, mis-revoked, or unavailable certificate can become a public, ecosystem-visible event. You need the judgment to move quickly and the discipline to be careful. Bonus Points Direct experience working on certificate authority, PKI, certificate lifecycle management, cloud security, identity, or trust services products. Experience with publicly trusted CAs, private PKI, managed certificate services, or platforms such as AWS Certificate Manager, AWS Private CA, Google Trust Services, DigiCert, Sectigo, Let's Encrypt / ISRG, Entrust, Microsoft PKI, HashiCorp Vault PKI, step-ca, or CFSSL. Familiarity with CA/Browser Forum requirements, browser root programs, WebTrust for CAs, WebTrust Baseline Requirements, or public CA incident reporting. Experience building API-first developer products, especially products involving ACME, SDKs, CLI workflows, Kubernetes, service mesh, mTLS, or infrastructure-as-code integrations. Experience launching new businesses or zero-to-one products inside a larger platform company. Familiarity with certificate automation challenges created by 90-day and shorter certificate lifetimes. Familiarity with post-quantum cryptography, crypto-agility, Merkle Tree Certificates, or customer migration planning for cryptographic transitions. Prior participation in WebPKI, IETF, browser trust, transparency, or security standards communities. Compensation Compensation may be adjusted depending on work location. Equity This role is eligible to participate in Cloudflare's equity plan.
