Headquarters: Remote You're the detection engineer people turn to when they ask "what does Microsoft actually see here?" Not the marketing-slide answer, the real map. Which product emits which telemetry, any anticipated ingestion lags, what table or API it lands in, which license tier gates it, how long it survives before it ages out, and where the documentation quietly disagrees with reality. When a new technique drops, your first instinct is to ask which Microsoft signal would catch it, and whether customers have it switched on. You also know Microsoft never sits still. Hunting tables appear, columns get renamed, Graph versions retire, capability shuffles between SKUs, previews go GA, features quietly vanish, and native alert logic shifts underneath you. You've got a repeatable way of staying ahead of that churn instead of finding out when a detection stops firing. You're comfortable behind a command line and in front of a customer, including scenarios where the conversation isn't pleasant. If that's you, we'd love to talk! We have an amazing team and believe you'll love getting to know us. At Expel, we help businesses bridge the cybersecurity talent gap by providing transparent Managed Detection and Response. To do this we build technology to make sure our security analysts are solving important problems, and automation is helping them make better decisions at every step. We delight in using technology to make security accessible for our customers. What Expel can do for you Make you one of our recognized authorities on Microsoft detection and response — for our SOC, our engineers, our go-to-market teams, and our customers Give you real ownership of Expel's detection coverage across the whole Microsoft security estate Put Microsoft telemetry from across our customer base in front of you — a breadth of real-world environments no single enterprise gets to see Let you write and tune detections in our own rule engine and watch them run against live signal Treat AI tooling (Claude Code and friends) as a first-class part of how you work, not a side experiment Enable you to learn from analysts, data scientists, engineers, and responders responsible for various components of Expel's product and services Provide access to popular EDR, network, SIEM, identity, and cloud technologies well beyond the Microsoft stack Challenge you to push the boundaries of our security vision What you can do for Expel Own our detection coverage across Defender XDR, Entra ID, Sentinel, Microsoft Graph, Azure, and Microsoft 365 — from raw signal through to shipped, tuned detections Build and maintain a living map of Microsoft security signal: what exists, known ingestion lag, where it lands, what gates it, how long it's kept, and how far you can trust it Track how that signal changes and turn every material change into a concrete action — catching drift before it costs us efficacy Tell us where Microsoft's native detections are strong enough to lean on, where they're noisy or shallow, and where Expel needs its own layer Make SOC analysts faster by automating Microsoft-specific investigative workflows against the Graph, Defender, Sentinel, and Entra APIs Partner with Engineering on our Microsoft integrations — ingestion, API limits and throttling, and schema mapping Answer the hard questions from the SOC, CS, and Sales — and mentor the people asking them Help customers understand what they're actually covered for, what they're missing, and what turning it on would buy them What you should bring with you Deep, current, hands-on knowledge of the Microsoft security stack — Defender XDR (Endpoint, Identity, Office 365, Cloud Apps), Entra ID, Sentinel, Microsoft Graph, and the Azure and Microsoft 365 control and data planes Fluency in KQL: you can write, read, optimize, and debug non-trivial hunting queries across both Defender Advanced Hunting and Sentinel, and you know how and why the two schemas differ Working knowledge of the Graph and Graph Security APIs, the Defender and Sentinel APIs, and their authentication, permission, versioning, and throttling models A strong grasp of the Entra ID (and legacy Active Directory) identity attack surface — authentication flows, conditional access, OAuth application consent, token theft and replay, hybrid identity and sync, privileged role abuse — and the telemetry each produces Solid understanding of Windows internals and command line tooling, with enough macOS and Linux to keep up with Defender's cross-platform coverage Experience writing, deploying, and tuning custom detections against Microsoft data sets, plus enough non-Microsoft exposure (AWS, GCP, other EDR and SIEM) to keep perspective Proficiency with Python and Sigma, and real fluency using Anthropic tools such as Claude Code to work across systems and data (locally, via MCP, and so on) 5+ years in information technology or security operations, with substantial time spent defending or operating Microsoft environments Excellent tact and diplomacy skills — you can explain Microsoft's limits to an audience that doesn't want to hear about them SC-200, AZ-500, or SC-300 are a plus; demonstrated depth matters considerably more Work Location Our headquarters is in Herndon, Virginia. However, we realize that while there is a benefit to in-person interaction, good people don't all live in Northern Virginia. Remote work is an option for this role. Additional Notes The base salary range for this role is between $142,900 USD and $207,200 USD + bonus eligibility and equity. While the full salary band reflects our long-term compensation framework, we're primarily targeting candidates between $160,000 and $192,000 based on experience, skills, and market data. We believe in paying transparently and equitably. Your salary will ultimately be based on factors such as your experience, skills, team equity, and market data. You'll also be eligible for unlimited PTO (which we model and encourage), work location flexibility, up to 24 weeks of parental leave, and really excellent health benefits. We're only hiring those authorized to work in the United States. We do not currently sponsor immigration visas. We're an Equal Opportunity Employer: You'll receive consideration for employment without regard to race, sex, color, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, protected veteran status, or on the basis of disability. We'll ensure that individuals with disabilities are provided reasonable accommodation to participate in the job application or interview process, to perform essential job functions, and to receive other benefits and privileges of employment. We believe close collaboration between a hard-working, high-agency team enables the fastest and most efficient iteration cycles, helping us build an impactful product that healthcare professionals truly love to use. The Job We're looking for an experienced Frontend Engineer to own customer-facing features from the first conversation with a care team to the feature running in production. Care workers rely on our product during every shift and care managers use it to follow up on their residents, on mobile and on the web. This isn't a ticket-taking role. You'll talk to users, cut scope, build the features, and check afterwards whether what you shipped actually made a shift easier. Alongside that, you'll help own the quality of how we build: the tests, pipelines and guardrails that let us ship fast without breaking what care teams depend on. In this role, you will focus on: Feature Development : Own features end-to-end, from design discussions through implementation to production rollout across multiple markets and languages, on the web app, the mobile app and the APIs behind them. Customer Insight : Talk to care staff and our customer success team every week, visit care facilities, and turn what you hear into clearly scoped product changes. Come with ideas, sketch the solution, and push it forward. Code Quality & Guardrails : Help own code quality across the frontend. Improve our CI/CD pipelines and automated tests, keep the infrastructure scalable, and build the guardrails that let AI coding agents contribute safely. Backend & APIs : Work with the APIs, data models and services your features need. You will not just consume APIs, you will help shape, improve and fix the systems behind them. Quality, Privacy & Safety : Ship with care for health data: sensible access control, auditability and privacy by default. Use staged rollouts so new features never get in the way of the alerts care teams depend on. Qualifications Several years of experience building production web applications. Strong TypeScript skills : this is the language for everything we build. Solid production experience with React on the web and/or React Native. Experience with CI/CD and automated testing, and a strong sense of what good code quality looks like. Great product taste and a keen eye for UX. You work well with designers and can make sensible design decisions yourself when needed. Comfortable talking directly with non-technical users and turning messy feedback into concrete decisions. Previous startup experience and/or shipping a product where you owned the outcome, from idea to adoption.X Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work both independently and in a team. Nice to Have Experience with React Native and Expo in production. Experience working with AI coding agents in a real codebase. AWS or equivalent cloud platform experience. Familiarity with TanStack, real-time systems or push notifications. Experience with health data or other regulated, privacy-sensitive domains (e.g. GDPR). About Us At Teton, we are redefining the role of healthcare workers through cutting-edge AI technology. Facing a global nursing shortage, our solutions offer vital support to overburdened health systems. With thousands of patient rooms across 4 countries already benefiting from our technology, we are aiming to expand to much more. We distinguish ourselves by focusing relentlessly on product excellence and user experience, rapidly deploying solutions that make a real difference. The Job Every patient room we deploy into puts another device on infrastructure we don't control, in a building we can't easily visit, running software that has to keep working. We're looking for an Engineer to own that problem: the systems, tooling, and infrastructure that let us ship to thousands of edge devices confidently and understand what they're doing once they're out there. In this role, you will focus on the following areas of interest: Fleet Management: Build and run the systems that provision, monitor, and manage our devices in the field, from first boot in a hospital room to end of life. OTA & Release Engineering: Own how software gets onto devices: staged rollouts, health checks, automatic rollback, and the confidence that a bad release won't take down a ward. Observability: Design the telemetry, logging, and alerting that tell us a device is degrading before a nurse notices. Make remote debugging possible so we don't fly to fix things. Device Bring-Up & Debugging: Work with our hardware and firmware teams on new hardware revisions, reproduce field issues on the bench, and get to the bottom of problems that span kernel, driver, network, and application. Infrastructure & Tooling: Build the CI/CD, image builds, and internal tools that let the whole engineering team ship to hardware quickly and safely. Documentation: Maintain clear and detailed documentation of your work to ensure easy collaboration and knowledge sharing within the team. Qualifications: Solid experience running Linux systems in production: ideally embedded or edge Linux, not just cloud VMs. Proficiency in Rust and/or Javascript/Typescript and/or Python Experience with device fleets at scale: provisioning, OTA update mechanisms (Mender, RAUC, balena, or something you built yourself), and remote access to constrained devices. Familiarity with Linux internals: systemd, kernel modules, device tree, networking stack, containers. Experience with observability tooling (Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, or similar) and designing what to measure, not just wiring up dashboards. Comfortable with hardware debugging: serial consoles, working alongside hardware engineers Understanding of communication protocols and how devices talk to each other and to us: I2C, SPI, UART, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, MQTT. Pragmatism about networks you don't control: restrictive hospital IT, VLANs, proxies, flaky Wi-Fi, and long offline periods. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Experience with the NVIDIA Jetson platform and Linux for Tegra is a big plus. Experience with Yocto, Debian packaging, or custom image builds is a plus. Experience in the medical device or healthcare technology field is a plus. What We Offer Participation in our warrant program (stock options). Work with state-of-the-art technology in a pioneering field. A vibrant, learning-focused work environment. A role where you can make a significant impact on healthcare delivery. The Job We're looking for a talented and driven Product Engineer to own customer-facing features from the first conversation with a care team to the feature running in production. Care workers rely on our product during every shift and care managers use it to follow up on their residents, on mobile and on the web. This isn't a ticket-taking role. You'll talk to users, cut scope, build across the whole stack, and check afterwards whether what you shipped actually made a shift easier. Your goal is to shrink the time from a customer request to a deployed solution, without cutting corners on reliability or on the privacy of residents' health data. In this role, you will focus on: Feature Development: Own features end-to-end, from design discussions through implementation to production rollout across multiple markets and languages, on the web app, the mobile app and the APIs behind them. Customer Insight: Talk to care staff and our customer success team every week, visit care facilities, and turn what you hear into clearly scoped product changes. Come with ideas, sketch the solution, and push it forward. Fast Iteration: Break large designs and features into small shippable pieces. Get MVPs in front of users quickly, measure how they're used, and iterate or kill them. Backend & APIs: Design and build the APIs, data models and services your features need. You will not just consume APIs, you will help shape, improve and fix the systems behind them. Quality, Privacy & Safety: Ship with care for health data: sensible access control, auditability and privacy by default. Build test coverage and use staged rollouts so new features never get in the way of the alerts care teams depend on. Qualifications Strong TypeScript skills: this is the language for everything we build. Solid production experience with React on the web and/or React Native. Comfortable working across the stack: you've built backend APIs and worked with relational databases (e.g. Postgres), not just UI. Great product taste and a keen eye for UX. You work well with designers and can make sensible design decisions yourself when needed. Comfortable talking directly with non-technical users and turning messy feedback into concrete decisions. Previous startup experience and/or shipping a product where you owned the outcome, from idea to adoption. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work both independently and in a team. Nice to Have Experience with React Native and Expo in production. AWS or equivalent cloud platform experience. Familiarity with TanStack, real-time systems or push notifications. Experience with health data or other regulated, privacy-sensitive domains (e.g. GDPR). Experience shipping products across multiple markets and languages. What We Offer Participation in our warrant program (stock options). A small team where your decisions directly shape the product. Work on software that healthcare workers depend on every day, the impact is tangible and immediate. Join Our Team We're looking for individuals who share our vision and value ownership and entrepreneurship over a conventional job. At Teton, you'll have the chance to make a real impact with your work. If you're ready for more than just a job, come aboard and be part of our mission to transform healthcare. Software Engineer - Customer Operations Platform Hybrid in London, UK We're looking for a software engineer iwoca's operational tools and processes are a competitive advantage, allowing us to give great customer service, manage risk, and get money into our customers' hands as quickly as possible. You'll join our growing Customer Operations Platform team to help improve the systems that power these processes, building tailored flows for our Operations teams, automating processes using AI, using ML models to make smarter decisions, and improving the reliability of our communication services. You'll work closely with our Operations teams, getting user feedback and input on requirements from users working in the same building, and seeing the impact of your changes on the people you work with. The company Small businesses move fast. Opportunities often don't wait, and cash flow pressures can appear overnight. To keep going, and growing, SMEs need finance that's as flexible and responsive as they are. That's why we built iwoca. Our smart technology, data science and five-star customer service ensures business owners can act with the speed, confidence and control they need, exactly when it's needed. We've already cleared the way for 100,000 businesses with more than £4 billion in funding. Our passionate team is driven to help even more SMEs succeed, through access to better finance and other services that make running a business easier. Our ultimate mission is to support one million SMEs in their defining moments, creating lasting impact for the communities and economies they drive. The role As an engineer you'd take whole projects end to end, work out what' s actually needed, design it, build it and look after it in production. Responsibility and Autonomy: Take on complex projects that span many systems and many stakeholders — e.g. CRM, telephony, contact, and task management Build a strong understanding of the business context: how our ops teams actually work, how the processes you're automating are supposed to run, and what the people relying on your systems need from them. Do the detailed technical scoping and prototyping that tells us whether an idea is feasible before it reaches the roadmap. Delivery and Collaboration Take on complex coding and architecture problems with a high level of ambiguity and technical complexity. Write fluent technical documents and developer tickets distilling product requirements into clear and actionable technical work. Build relationships with key stakeholders including Operations Strategy, Credit Analysts, Account Managers, and Collections teams. Learning and Growth: Embody our growth mindset mentality by sharing new technologies and best practices within the team as well as more broadly across the company. The projects Here are some of the most recent problems we are solving: iwocaChat. Operations staff spend a large share of their day assembling context from multiple systems before they can help a customer. iwocaChat uses Claude to answer those questions directly, so staff spend their time on the customer rather than the lookup. Migrating the monolith. We are incrementally moving business logic out of our Django monolith into smaller, independently deployable services. Because it cuts across every domain, you'd be shaping service boundaries and ownership models that stick around long after the monolith is gone. Inbox messaging reworking. We are replacing our third party email inbox application with an inhouse solution, utilising AI to enable operations staff to automate the actions of our most frequent customer service enquiries. The requirements Essential: Experience developing and owning shared back end services that other engineering teams contribute to and depend on - being the trusted reviewer for their contributions and shaping how they build on top of your work. Familiarity with front-end technologies (React, TypeScript) and browser debugging. Experience building and shaping distributed systems in complex business domains. Ability to translate complex operational needs into technical architecture. Strong capability using AI tools to automate routine tasks and research, enabling greater focus on complex system architecture and critical technical decision-making. Bonus: Commercial experience with Python frameworks like Django. Experience with complex data architectures, including event-sourced data models. The salary We expect to pay from £70,000 - £90,000 for this role. But, we're open-minded, so definitely include your salary goals with your application. We routinely benchmark salaries against market rates, and run quarterly performance and salary reviews. The culture At iwoca, the best idea wins. We model our culture on independent thinking, challenging untested logic, and evidence-based decisions. We prioritise learning and growth, and give people the autonomy to develop in the direction that makes them most effective. We're a tech company and believe in the power of AI to help us work faster and better. We provide the infrastructure where every iwocan always has access to the best models and where those models have access to all of our data. We will help our people to learn how to use and grow with the new tools available to them. The offices We put a lot of effort into making iwoca a brilliant place to work: Offices in London, Leeds, Frankfurt, and Berlin with plenty of drinks and snacks. Events and clubs, like bingo, comedy nights, yoga classes, football, etc. The benefits Flexible working. Medical insurance from Vitality, including discounted gym membership. Our ultimate mission is to support one million SMEs in their defining moments, creating lasting impact for the communities and economies they drive. The team The New Customers team owns everything from a business's first application to a funded loan: the application flow, the logic that routes each application, the documents we ask customers for, and the models that set loan amounts and pricing. Its measure of success is the customer lifetime value it adds between sign-up and first loan. The team sets its own goals and direction. It brings together engineers, data scientists, and product and strategy people. It partners closely with credit risk on the trade-offs behind every lending decision. Knowledge sharing is central to how the team works, supported by regular forums to share findings, and dedicated research and development time. You'll lead two engineers and report to the head of engineering for iwoca's customer journey, from first application to repeat lending. The role As the Tech Lead, you'll spend most of your time building. The team is moving its offer logic out of a legacy monolith into multiple services.. The next phase is yours to lead. You take a business goal, get to the root of what's needed and why, and turn it into a technical plan. You can explain a trade-off in terms of what it means for customers and the business. AI leverage. You've built agentic workflows, or used AI to deliver engineering work you couldn't have done alone. You help your team do the same. You judge where it's useful. You check its output before it reaches production. Communication. You write and speak clearly, directly, and concisely. You adapt technical detail to your audience. Bonus: Lending or payments experience. You've worked in lending, payments, or another domain where engineering decisions carry financial risk. Experimentation. You've built systems that run controlled experiments, especially long-running ones. Legacy migration. You've moved business-critical logic out of a complex legacy monolith and kept everything that depends on it working. Working with data scientists. You've worked with data scientists from prototype to production, and know their work well enough to challenge it. Python stack. You've worked with Python, Django, and PostgreSQL. Frontend. You've built frontend features as well as backend services. The salary We expect to pay from £90,000 to £120,000 for this role. OAG is the essential intelligence partner transforming global travel. For nearly a century, we've been the foundation the travel industry builds on, trusted, proven, essential. Today, we're going beyond. We combine unmatched data quality, quantity and access with breakthrough technology and deep industry expertise to deliver what the industry truly needs: not just more data, but better answers. From real-time operational intelligence to strategic decision-making, we power the entire travel ecosystem, from airlines and airports to technology companies and financial institutions. We are actively embedding AI throughout our intelligence layer, combining nearly a century of proprietary data with the latest technology to deliver answers that were simply not possible before. We exist because travel moves the world, and we move travel. By transforming complexity into clarity and questions into answers, we give our partners the intelligence they need to thrive in an evolving world. For more information visit www.oag.com ABOUT THE ROLE: OAG Digital is the team turning our world-class data into a product-led growth engine: a unified experience where customers can discovery, try, pay and use on their own. We build the platform customers use to find, buy and use our data, and the intelligence products that turn that data into answers. This is the most senior individual contributor role on the technical side of Digital. Its purpose is to turn the Digital strategy into a technical strategy that delivers it: deciding what gets built, in what order and to what standard, so the business can sell what it has committed to sell. A decision taken in one team should still work in another, our promises to customers on access, security, reliability and cost should hold on every channel, and the hardest problems should get solved once. You'll work across two areas. Core is the platform backbone: identity, auth, entitlements, billing, usage metering and the infrastructure everything else depends on. Intelligence is the layer above the data: AI-powered insights, predictive models built on Databricks and Snowflake, anomaly detection, and agentic features. The role is hands-on. You'll write production code on the hardest parts of the platform while setting direction, reviewing designs and helping other engineers do better work. We care about UX as much as throughput, and we're AI-native: tooling is part of how we develop, not an afterthought. This role can be worked remotely from anywhere in the UK only. Please note that we're unable to offer visa sponsorship, so applicants will need the existing right to work in the UK. WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING Design and build the hardest parts of the platform, hands on: how customers get to the right data and products, how that access is controlled, and what it costs us to serve. Stay close enough to the code that the design still holds once it's built Set the technical direction for problems that cross team boundaries: how customers are identified, what they're allowed to use, how usage is measured and charged, and how existing customers and older systems move onto the new platform. Write the design down, get agreement, and stay with it through delivery so teams build to one approach rather than several Set the standard for products built on AI and machine learning: define what a feature must do before it ships (show where its answer came from, be honest about how current the data is, fail predictably, be tested repeatably). Set the technical brief for data science teams, including how a model will be judged and the speed and cost it has to work within, and push back when a model isn't the right tool Work with the teams and partners outside Digital who build against your designs, including other parts of OAG and third parties. Share designs early, take feedback, change course where they're right, and make the call when a cross-team decision has been open too long Integrate AI models, data pipelines and event-driven systems on Databricks and Snowflake into the Intelligence layer Improve how the whole of Digital builds software: review designs and code beyond your own team, mentor senior engineers, and make the good way to do something the easy way. This includes making AI-assisted development reliable, with the checks needed to keep quality high Maintain the quality bar through code reviews, automated testing, observability, and CI/CD. WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR Extensive experience building and running production software end to end , from system design through to operating it live Technical leadership beyond a single team: a track record of influencing engineers and teams you don't manage, and building agreement across them System design across boundaries : systems that stay correct, fast and affordable when several teams, several delivery channels and a shared data platform are all involved, and sound judgement on when to solve something once centrally versus letting each team solve it Hands-on experience in analytical or data-intensive contexts and depth in large-scale data platforms : how they're built, governed and paid for, including keeping one customer's data separate from another's, controlling access at the data layer, tracking data lineage, and keeping query cost under control Machine learning and AI in production: enough understanding of how models and agents are built, trained and evaluated to set the technical brief for the data science team, read an evaluation critically, and judge whether a result will hold up in the real world. Experience taking AI-powered features into production and making them reliable, cost-effective and trustworthy for customers. Judgement under uncertainty, with commercial awareness: you understand that technical choices affect what the business can charge and what it costs to serve a customer, and you know when to decide and when to wait Clear communicator who can explain direction, risk and trade-offs so that engineers, product, commercial and senior leaders all take away the same thing A builder's mindset . You understand the who and the why, and you own what ships AI-native in how you build: you use AI tooling with judgement, stay current with how agentic development is evolving, and help make effective agentic practices the norm across the team If you don't meet every requirement but feel excited about this role, we'd still love to hear from you. WE WILL OFFER YOU 🚀 A progressive, non-hierarchical culture where innovation drives everything we build 🏡 Flexible working arrangements that allow remote work or office attendance 💰 An attractive compensation and benefits package, including access to a Simplyhealth cash plan to support your everyday health and wellbeing, a company bonus scheme, Octopus EV salary sacrifice scheme and enhanced pension scheme 🏖️ 25 days holiday plus bank holidays, volunteering days and additional day off during your birthday month 👪 Inclusive family benefits designed to support you through parenthood and fertility journeys 🌍 Work remotely anywhere in the world for up to 1 month per year 📚 Annual learning and development budget. OAG is committed to creating an inclusive workplace where everyone feels valued and able to perform at their best. We welcome applications from people of all backgrounds and experiences. If you require reasonable adjustments at any stage of the recruitment process, please let us know. We are happy to have an open conversation about how we can support you.
