Team & Locations We hire exceptional people who want to build hard things and see their work matter immediately. Roles are available in: San Francisco, Miami, New York, and fully remote. Flex Fuels Ambition. About The Role Flex is hiring a General Manager to build and run its venture and private equity business. You own the sector end to end: the strategy for winning it, the relationships and partnerships that open it, the product priorities it needs, and the P&L it produces. You build on Flex's platform, balance sheet and teams, and you are responsible for making Flex the primary financial institution for venture and private equity. The role is modeled on sector coverage at an investment bank. You decide which relationships matter, which partnerships can move hundreds of owners onto Flex at once, and what the product must deliver to win them. Flex's product, credit, risk and member experience teams execute and service alongside you. The role reports directly to the CEO. Funds are the most efficient path to hundreds of owners at once. A sponsor that standardizes its portfolio on Flex, or a venture firm whose founders bank with Flex from their first wire, delivers in one decision what would otherwise take a hundred. The decision sits with general partners, fund CFOs, operating partners, fund administrators and fund-finance lenders. The General Manager owns those relationships. What You'll Do 7 to 12 years in investment banking, private credit, private equity, venture, or a senior commercial seat inside venture and private equity. You have a demonstrable record of originating business, not servicing it. An active network in venture and private equity. You can name the 50 people who matter and most of them would take your call this week. Fluent in how funds and their portfolio companies move money: capital calls and distributions, portfolio treasury and credit, operating-partner priorities, and what a portfolio CFO requires to move a banking relationship. Comfortable structuring partnerships, negotiating referral economics, and working through a term sheet without support. You build your own models. Banker-level Excel and a working understanding of the unit economics of deposits, cards and credit. Requirements 7 to 12 years in investment banking, private credit, private equity, venture, or a senior commercial seat inside construction. You have a demonstrable record of originating business, not servicing it. An active network in construction. You can name the 50 people who matter and most of them would take your call this week. Fluent in how contractors are paid and where their capital gets tied up: margins, working capital, pay applications, retainage, bonding, and who lends against each. Comfortable structuring partnerships, negotiating referral economics, and working through a term sheet without support. You build your own models. Banker-level Excel and a working understanding of the unit economics of deposits, cards and credit. Nice To Haves Experience in fintech, banking or lending, or selling a financial product to business owners. A standing in venture and private equity: a podcast, a newsletter, a conference stage, or a board seat at a trade body. Investing, advisory or operating experience in a company in venture and private equity. How To Prepare As part of the application, please be prepared to submit a one-pager along with your CV on how you would bring venture and private equity to Flex. It should cover: The sector and its owners. Who they are, how many of them fall in Flex's range, how they make money and where their capital gets tied up. What they need from a bank. The products and terms that would make owners in the sector move their primary relationship, and in what order. The map. The 20 to 30 people and institutions that move the sector, and how many of them you know personally. The first three partnerships. The programs that would put hundreds of owners on Flex at once, and why each counterparty would say yes. The investment and the return. A light P&L for the sector: what Flex would need to put in over the first two years (people, product, partnership economics, marketing) and how that investment comes back, in the form of owners banking with Flex and the revenue they produce. We are looking for the shape of the business and the logic behind it. The plan and the team. How you will build this out and what you will need to do it. Treat it as a coverage pitch. Bring the map, the partnerships and the economics, and be ready to defend each one. Compensation Compensation follows the coverage-banking model: a base that allows you to build the book without pressure to pursue the wrong relationships, and variable tied to what your sector produces for Flex, with no ceiling. Base salary. $275,000 to $325,000, adjusted for location and experience. Variable. Targeted at 100% of base. Paid on the revenue your sector generates, including owners sourced through your partnerships. Equity. Eligible for equity compensation First year. A guaranteed variable component while the book is built, agreed at offer. Final compensation within this range will be based on experience, qualifications, and interview performance. This position is also eligible for equity compensation. Flex offers medical, dental and vision insurance, paid time off, and a 401(k) plan. Applications will be accepted on an ongoing basis until the position is filled. Flex is building the AI-native private bank for business owners . Banking, credit, payments, personal finance, and financial operations—rebuilt from the ground up as a single, intelligent system. Flex is the full financial home for ambitious owners. Since launching publicly in September 2023 , Flex has scaled from zero to nine-figure annualized revenue , with a clear path to profitability by late 2026 . We move fast, ship relentlessly, and operate with extreme ownership. Our customers are affluent business owners ($3–$200M in revenue) —the backbone of the economy and one of the most underserved segments in finance. They're stuck with outdated banks and fragmented tools. We're replacing all of it. The opportunity is massive: a ~$1T+ revenue market hiding in plain sight. Our ambition is to build a $100B+ company by delivering a product that is fundamentally better—not incrementally improved. Flex has raised $100M+ in equity and $300M+ in debt. - Mission-critical problems : We build software that directly controls how money moves at scale. - High bar, low ego : Small teams, exceptional people, real ownership. - Speed over comfort : We prioritize execution, quality, clarity, and results. - Enduring impact : What we're building will define how a generation of owners runs their businesses. Team & Locations We hire exceptional people who want to build hard things and see their work matter immediately. Roles are available in: San Francisco, Miami, New York, and fully remote. Flex Fuels Ambition. About The Role This role owns IT and corporate engineering at Flex, end to end. It reports directly to the CTO. We think IT's job is enablement. The measure of this function is not how many tickets it closes or how many controls it can point at. It is whether everyone else at Flex can do their work faster and more safely than they could last quarter. A new hire productive on day one instead of day four. An engineer who gets exactly the access they need in minutes, without asking twice and without being handed the keys to everything. A team that can adopt a new tool because someone reviewed it properly, not because they routed around IT to buy it on a personal card. So we are not looking for a gatekeeper, or for someone whose default answer is no. The right person makes the safe path the easy path, and removes friction permanently instead of absorbing it repeatedly. Which is why this role also owns Flex's corporate security posture. Identity, access, endpoints, and the SaaS estate are one system, and the person who makes access fast should be the person who decides how much access is reasonable. Split those across two teams and employees route around both. You'll set conditional access and MFA policy, own privileged access and endpoint posture, and run third-party OAuth and Workspace grant review. Our security engineers own the product and infrastructure side, the money paths and the code, and you'll work with them constantly. Corporate security is yours to decide, not to implement on someone else's behalf. This is the hard part of the job, and we'd rather say so than leave it as a bonus line. The argument between moving fast and holding a line is now an argument you have with yourself. Day to day, what gets tightened, what gets mitigated, and what we knowingly accept is your call; the large ones come to the CTO, and we'd rather see a close call early than find out you decided it quietly. What we'd ask is that a no comes from a real read of the risk and the business context rather than a standard applied by default. The rest of the work has two halves. The IT half is the fleet, identity, access, the SaaS estate, and the joiner/mover/leaver process, delivered with help from a managed IT partner who handles procurement, device logistics, tier-1 support, and international coverage. You own that relationship, define the SLA, and enforce it. The corporate engineering half is the part we think makes this a good job: writing the automation and internal tooling that means the IT half doesn't scale linearly with headcount. If a process only works because a person runs it by hand every Tuesday, we'd rather you replaced it. You'd be inheriting an estate here, not starting one. The first year is as much untangling what has already accumulated - stale access, tools nobody reviewed, processes that work because someone remembers them - as it is building what comes next. Automate that assessment. Nobody should be reading through a SaaS estate by hand in 2026. Now the shape of this. Flex is around 150 people, and you would be the only person in this function, with vendor capacity underneath you and a direct line to the CTO. That means real autonomy and real scope from week one. It also means this is a hands-on senior individual contributor role, not a management role, and we are not planning a team under it in the near term. If you're looking to build and lead an IT organization right now, this isn't that job, and we'd rather you knew before you applied. We're looking for an IT and corporate engineering builder who wants to own security posture, rather than a security specialist willing to cover IT. Both halves have to interest you. If the enablement work reads as the price of admission for the security work, this will be a frustrating job. What You'll Do Own IT and corporate engineering end to end: the roadmap, the budget, the vendor relationships, and the outcomes. Manage our external IT partner as delivery capacity, not as a peer function. Define the scope, set the SLA, hold them to it, and own the escalation path when it slips. Design the joiner, mover, and leaver process and the entitlement model behind it. Make onboarding fast enough that a new hire is working on day one, and keep deprovisioning in-house and same-day, because it's the highest-consequence action in IT. Administer and improve our identity and productivity stack (Okta, Google Workspace, and the SaaS estate around them), including SSO, SCIM, and group and role design. Own operational policy: device standards, the access-request workflow, and SaaS onboarding and procurement review. Review tools before people buy them, and make that review fast enough that nobody wants to skip it. Build the automation. Provisioning, access reviews, asset and license reconciliation, and the internal tooling that removes recurring manual work across the SaaS estate. Run the endpoint and MDM program across a distributed, increasingly international company, and keep the fleet in a state you'd be comfortable showing an auditor. Own Flex's corporate security posture. Conditional access, MFA, session and device rules, and privileged access are yours to set. So is endpoint posture, and the review of third-party OAuth and Workspace grants that quietly accumulate at every company this age. Design and deliver the security awareness and training program. Not a once-a-year video, and not the version people click through with the sound off. Partner with our security engineers, who own product and infrastructure security. The line runs between corporate and product, not between operating and deciding. You'll bring them into identity decisions with blast radius, and they'll rely on you for provisioning data they can trust. Work closely with People, Finance, and Legal. Onboarding, offboarding, spend, and audit evidence all run through this function. Be a real internal service. Publish what you own, respond when people ask, and find the friction before it turns into a workaround. What Makes You A Great Fit You think IT exists to make other people effective, and you can point at specific friction you removed rather than tickets you closed. You write code. Not necessarily production services, but scripts, integrations, and glue that other people end up depending on. You'd rather fix the process than get faster at the workaround. You hold both sides of this honestly. You've said no to something that mattered, and you've also said yes to something a stricter version of you would have blocked, and you can explain both calls. You're comfortable being the only person in a function, and comfortable saying what you need instead of quietly absorbing it. You know you can't be in the loop on every request, and you don't want to be. You build the self-service paths that let people get what they need without going through you. You can hold a vendor accountable without turning the relationship adversarial. You can tell a colleague, including a senior one, that what they've built can't keep the access it has, explain why in plain language, and work alongside them to find a way that works. You're calm when something is broken and several people are watching. You explain technical constraints clearly to people who don't share your background, in writing, across time zones. What We're Looking For Substantial hands-on experience owning IT or corporate engineering at a growing company, including a stretch where you were the most senior person doing the work. Roughly [6+] years is typical, but we care about what you've owned, not the year count. Deep, hands-on ownership of an identity provider (Okta, Entra, JumpCloud, or similar) at the design layer: SSO, SCIM, SAML, group and entitlement modeling. Not just the admin console. Practical experience running Google Workspace or Microsoft 365 as a platform. Real MDM and endpoint experience across macOS, and ideally Windows, in a remote or hybrid company. Automation ability in at least one scripting or programming language (Python, Go, TypeScript, or similar), and comfort with APIs and identity plumbing. Experience designing an access model and running access reviews, not only fulfilling requests. Real ownership of identity security decisions, not only their execution. You've set MFA or conditional access policy, tightened privileged access, or cleaned up third-party app grants, and you can talk about what you traded away to do it. Track record managing an outsourced IT provider or MSP, or a clear-eyed view of why the ones you've worked with succeeded or failed. Clear written communication. Much of this job is asynchronous and cross-team. Strongly Preferred Experience in a regulated or audited environment (SOC 2, PCI, or a bank partnership), as the control owner rather than the auditor. Time as the senior security voice somewhere without a security team, or without a CISO to escalate to. Experience supporting employees and contractors across multiple countries, including device logistics and local employment platforms. Experience at a company that grew quickly enough that you had to replace your own early processes. Experience introducing AI tooling internally in a way that was actually adopted and actually governed. Interested? We'd love to hear from you At Flex, we value passion, determination, and honesty. Even if you don't fully match the job specifics, we encourage you to apply. Unusual career paths and unique skills can help you stand out. We believe diversity drives our success. The Role Forward is one of the fastest growing embedded finance companies in the US - launching exciting new products that accelerate how businesses operate.   We need a  Senior Manager, Risk & Compliance Operations , someone who owns both the operational cadence that keeps the three Onboarding, Transaction Monitoring, and Merchant Maintenance pods running smoothly and the governance frameworks that make human judgment scale.  You will: Run the weekly ops rhythm across Onboarding, Transaction Monitoring, and Merchant Maintenance pods: cadence, SLAs, escalation triage, cross-pod handoffs Design and own the control framework that backs up operational discipline: Risk Appetite Statement, Delegation of Authority, Control Inventory, L2 Governance Build policy as a living operational tool, not a checkbox: Risk Assessment, Underwriting, Sanctions, Merchant Termination policies that the ops team follows Establish partner and merchant risk assessment  Partner with the pod leads on risk judgment and policy interpretation. You are the operational anchor they escalate to. You make the strategic frameworks operational and the operational team disciplined. What You'll Own Operational Cadence & SLA Management Own the RCO weekly rhythm: scheduled standup across three pods, escalation triage, decision log, blockers surfaced to Leadership. Set and track pod-level SLAs: time to first touch, case resolution cycles, dispute response time, payout cycles. Flag when pods are out of SLA and escalate root cause to Leadership. Lead escalation triage: when a case doesn't fit a pod's workflow (fraud incident, high-risk merchant, regulatory escalation), determine ownership, timeline, and approval chain Coordinate cross-pod handoffs: Onboarding to TM to Merchant Maintenance flows; ensure no merchant falls through the cracks between pods Build and maintain case routing logic: which cases go to which pod, when, and under what conditions. It evolves as the business scales. Control Framework Design & Implementation Own the Risk Appetite Statement: define Forward's risk thresholds (acceptable fraud loss rate, decline rate, chargeback rate, AML false positive rate) with Leadership and Finance; operationalize them as SLAs the pods follow Build the Delegation of Authority (DOA) Matrix: tier-by-tier approval authorities for merchant boarding (by size, risk, industry), limit exceptions, high-risk overrides, and settlement decisions; ensure segregation of duties Complete and maintain the Control Inventory: currently 60 to 75% built. Finish the gap, document each control, map to risk categories and regulatory requirements, and establish testing cadences. Lead the L2 Governance Framework deployment: the dual-control review layer now shipping for automated decisioning at scale. Own the policy layer, threshold tuning, escalation matrix, and integration with the decisioning engine. Establish standing audit management: PCI, sponsor bank, and network audits currently scramble for evidence under deadline. Build continuous audit evidence and a control testing calendar. Policy Ownership & Documentation Own core operational policies as living documents: Risk Assessment Policy (merchant tiering, boarding criteria, EDD triggers) Underwriting Policy (approve, decline, or conditional decision-making) Sanctions and KYC/KYB Policy (compliance execution) Merchant Termination Policy (escalation, conditions, offboarding) Incident Response Policy (fraud outbreaks, regulatory notifications, SARs) Ensure policies are enforced: policies only work if the team follows them. Flag gaps when they appear, own remediation, and align pod leads on policy interpretation. Build policy as a scaling lever: as acquiring volume scales 3x, policy governs merchant risk tiering, real-time monitoring thresholds, chargeback and dispute handling, network escalation, and merchant suspension procedures Partner & Merchant Risk Assessment Stand up a repeatable partner risk assessment process: Forward has handled complex partner decisions ad hoc. Document a standardized Partner Risk Classification Framework, assessment checklist, and escalation path. Own merchant risk classification: maintain the risk scoring methodology, tier definitions, and triggers for Enhanced Due Diligence, conditions, or termination. Keep scoring consistent and validated. Lead high-risk merchant oversight: when a merchant crosses a risk threshold, own the escalation decision and represent Risk's position in business discussions about continued boarding or processing Fraud & Incident Response Establish fraud governance: define acceptable loss rate thresholds and incident response procedures for fraud outbreaks (organized networks, account takeover campaigns) Partner on transaction monitoring tuning: work with the Data Scientist and the TM pod to design and validate TM rules, tune false positive rates, and make sure alerts surface appropriately Manage fraud incidents: lead investigation, containment, and remediation of significant fraud events, and ensure regulatory notification requirements (SARs) are met Pod Lead Partnership Be the operational anchor for pod leads: The pod leads escalate judgment calls, process questions, and policy interpretation to you Align on risk judgment: when a pod lead is unsure whether a high-risk merchant should be conditionally approved or declined, help them reason through the decision using the control framework Drive cross-pod consistency: three independent pods can drift toward three risk philosophies. About Anthropic Anthropic's mission is to create reliable, interpretable, and steerable AI systems. We want AI to be safe and beneficial for our users and for society as a whole. Our team is a quickly growing group of committed researchers, engineers, policy experts, and business leaders working together to build beneficial AI systems. About the Role Anthropic manages one of the largest and fastest-growing infrastructure fleets in the industry — spanning multiple accelerator families, cpu families and clouds. The Capacity Engineering team is responsible for making sure all our infrastructure resources are accounted for, well-utilized, and efficiently allocated. We own the data, tooling, and operational systems that let Anthropic plan, measure, and maximize utilization across first-party and third-party compute. As an engineer on Capacity Engineering, you will build the production systems that power this work: data pipelines that ingest and normalize telemetry from heterogeneous cloud environments, observability tooling that gives the org real-time visibility into fleet health, and performance instrumentation that measures how efficiently every major workload uses the hardware it's running on. You will be expected to write production-quality code every day, operate alongside Kubernetes-native infrastructure at meaningful scale, and directly influence decisions around one of Anthropic's largest areas of spend. You'll collaborate closely with research engineering, infrastructure, inference, and finance teams. The work requires someone who can move between data engineering, systems engineering, and observability with comfort — and who thrives in a high-autonomy, high-ambiguity environment. This is a pipeline role feeding four areas. Depending on your background and business priority, you'll focus primarily in one, but the boundaries are fluid and the problems overlap: Data platform Pipelines that ingest occupancy and utilization telemetry from Kubernetes clusters, normalize billing and usage across cloud providers, and serve the BigQuery tables the rest of the org queries against. Correctness, completeness, and latency are the job, not a footnote. Consumers range from research engineers to finance to leadership, so it's product work as much as engineering: defining schema contracts, making data discoverable, and figuring out what people actually need. Planning Knowing what the fleet has, where it's going, and what's in the way. Making the state of the fleet legible and actionable in real time: cluster health tooling, capacity planning platforms, alerting on occupancy drops and allocation problems, and systemic fixes to scheduling and fragmentation. Kubernetes operations on one side, cross-team coordination on the other. Efficiency Measuring and improving how effectively every major workload uses the hardware it runs on. Instrumenting utilization across training, inference, and eval systems, building benchmarking infrastructure, establishing per-config baselines, and working directly with system-owning teams to close the gaps. The metric has to be good enough that the team on the hook for it agrees with the number. Attribution and forecasting Connecting what the fleet costs to what the business is doing with it. Reconciling CSP billing exports against vendor telemetry and internal systems with mismatched schemas, attributing spend to the workloads and teams that generate it, and turning inference demand signals and research roadmaps into a defensible compute plan. Efficiency metrics have to survive contact with finance: stripped of pure demand and unit-price effects, reproducible month over month, and legible to a CFO. Key responsibilities Build the planning and allocation stack — the tools leadership uses to allocate capacity, teams use to plan against their allocations, and the scheduler enforces. Cross-region and cross-provider placement, guardrails, queueing, occupancy KPIs. Drive the efficiency programs: stranding and rightsizing, unused capacity recovery, and job-level utilization across training, inference, and eval. Establish per-config baselines and work with system-owning teams to close the gaps. Utilization improvements are worth enormous sums at our scale. Own attribution and forecasting — reconcile billing across ten-plus providers against telemetry and internal systems, attribute spend to the workloads that generate it, and turn demand signals and research roadmaps into a defensible compute plan and supply pipeline. Build the data platform underneath all of it: pipelines ingesting occupancy, utilization, and cost from a rapidly diversifying fleet into BigQuery, with real ownership of completeness, latency SLOs, and gap detection. Every new provider is a net-new integration. Operate Kubernetes-native systems at scale — collection agents, workload labeling, and the taint/reservation/scheduling behavior that determines what capacity is actually usable. Treat the output as a product, not a pipeline. Gather your own requirements, define schema contracts, and design for consumers ranging from research engineers to a CFO — including on-call and SLOs, because these surfaces are load-bearing for the company. What you bring A strong track record building and operating production systems. This is a hands-on engineering role with a devops flavor. Python and SQL at production quality. Most pipeline code is Python; the presentation layer is BigQuery SQL, including table-valued functions and views. Both need to be idiomatic, well-tested, and maintainable. Deep experience with at least one major cloud provider (Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud, or Microsoft Azure) and its operations Experience with observability tooling stack, including Prometheus, PromQL, and Grafana, including writing recording rules and building monitoring that engineering teams rely on. Ability to gather your own requirements and work across organizational boundaries in an ambiguous environment with limited direction. Preferred qualifications Experience with capacity planning, resource management, or cost attribution systems at a hyperscaler or in a large-scale machine learning environment. Time spent in product engineering and developer experience absolutely counts here. Scheduling and packing efficiency experience, or profiling-driven optimization of large distributed workloads. Multi-cloud data ingestion experience, especially normalizing billing exports, reservation APIs, on-demand capacity reservations, commitments, and vendor telemetry from providers with different billing arrangements. Total cost of ownership and forecasting experience, including decomposing whether infrastructure growth is causal or correlated with business drivers. Accelerator infrastructure familiarity. GPU metrics (DCGM), TPU utilization, Trainium power and utilization metrics, or experience with machine learning training and inference systems at the hardware level. Experience building internal data products with self-service access, schema contracts, API serving, documentation, and discoverability. Not just pipelines, but thinking about how the data gets consumed. Storage efficiency, retention, and lifecycle program experience at exabyte scale. The annual compensation range for this role is listed below.  For sales roles, the range provided is the role's On Target Earnings ("OTE") range, meaning that the range includes both the sales commissions/sales bonuses target and annual base salary for the role. Annual Salary: $320,000 — $485,000 USD Logistics Minimum education: Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience Required field of study:  A field relevant to the role as demonstrated through coursework, training, or professional experience Minimum years of experience: Years of experience required will correlate with the internal job level requirements for the position Location-based hybrid policy: Currently, we expect all staff to be in one of our offices at least 25% of the time. However, some roles may require more time in our offices. Visa sponsorship:  We do sponsor visas! However, we aren't able to successfully sponsor visas for every role and every candidate. But if we make you an offer, we will make every reasonable effort to get you a visa, and we retain an immigration lawyer to help with this. We encourage you to apply even if you do not believe you meet every single qualification. Not all strong candidates will meet every single qualification as listed.  Research shows that people who identify as being from underrepresented groups are more prone to experiencing imposter syndrome and doubting the strength of their candidacy, so we urge you not to exclude yourself prematurely and to submit an application if you're interested in this work. We think AI systems like the ones we're building have enormous social and ethical implications. We think this makes representation even more important, and we strive to include a range of diverse perspectives on our team. Your safety matters to us. To protect yourself from potential scams, remember that Anthropic recruiters only contact you from @anthropic.com email addresses. In some cases, we may partner with vetted recruiting agencies who will identify themselves as working on behalf of Anthropic. Be cautious of emails from other domains. Legitimate Anthropic recruiters will never ask for money, fees, or banking information before your first day. If you're ever unsure about a communication, don't click any links—visit  anthropic.com/careers  directly for confirmed position openings. How we're different We believe that the highest-impact AI research will be big science. At Anthropic we work as a single cohesive team on just a few large-scale research efforts. And we value impact — advancing our long-term goals of steerable, trustworthy AI — rather than work on smaller and more specific puzzles. We view AI research as an empirical science, which has as much in common with physics and biology as with traditional efforts in computer science. We're an extremely collaborative group, and we host frequent research discussions to ensure that we are pursuing the highest-impact work at any given time. As such, we greatly value communication skills. The easiest way to understand our research directions is to read our recent research. This research continues many of the directions our team worked on prior to Anthropic, including: GPT-3, Circuit-Based Interpretability, Multimodal Neurons, Scaling Laws, AI & Compute, Concrete Problems in AI Safety, and Learning from Human Preferences. Come work with us! Anthropic is a public benefit corporation headquartered in San Francisco. We offer competitive compensation and benefits, optional equity donation matching, generous vacation and parental leave, flexible working hours, and a lovely office space in which to collaborate with colleagues. About the role Anthropic is building AI systems that will shape the trajectory of one of the most consequential technologies in human history. That work requires physical infrastructure at significant scale, and building that infrastructure the right way means being a real, long-term partner to the communities where we operate. We are looking for a Community Engagement Manager in Indiana and Kentucky to join our Public Policy team and serve as Anthropic's on-the-ground presence in the communities where our data centers are sited, built, and operated. This is not a communications role or a government affairs role, though you will do elements of both. It is a relationship role: your job is to make Anthropic a trusted, visible, and valued neighbor, from the earliest stages of site selection through construction and long-term operations. You will be the connective tissue between Anthropic's Policy and Infrastructure teams and the local officials, community organizations, economic development partners, and residents who have a stake in what we build. You will surface concerns before they escalate, translate our technical and operational plans into clear local benefits, and build the coalitions that allow us to move quickly and responsibly. Because Anthropic's infrastructure footprint is still early in its growth, you will also help write the playbook: the processes you build in your first markets are the ones we will use as we expand. You will travel regularly within Indiana and Kentucky, up to 50% of the time, and occasionally to other Anthropic data center markets. Key responsibilities Build and maintain trusted, sustained relationships with county commissioners and councils, Kentucky fiscal courts and judge-executives, mayors and city councils, plan commissions and zoning boards, state and regional economic development organizations, community groups, civic leaders, educational institutions, and workforce partners in the Indiana and Kentucky data center markets you cover Develop and execute a community engagement strategy for each of your markets, spanning site selection, pre-development, construction, and ongoing operations Build external coalitions, host education and listening sessions, and design local solutions that deliver real benefits to the communities where we operate Represent Anthropic in public forums, town halls, planning hearings, community events, and local media Monitor community sentiment and local political dynamics, and advise internal teams on risks, opportunities, and the right pace and posture for engagement Partner with the Real Estate and Infrastructure team to bring community input into how projects are planned, communicated, and delivered, not just how they are announced Work with the Communications team to develop proactive, locally relevant messaging Coordinate charitable giving, community investment, and economic development commitments in your markets, including managing nonprofit partner relationships Partner with the Energy and Sustainability team to explain our approach to environmental stewardship and respond to questions about power, water, and land use, including how large electricity needs are served by local utilities and rural electric cooperatives Build a community engagement playbook and repeatable processes that scale as Anthropic's infrastructure footprint grows Minimum qualifications Experience in community affairs, public affairs, economic development, government relations, local or state government, or a closely related field Direct experience working for or engaging with county and municipal governments and a broad set of community stakeholders on behalf of large infrastructure, construction, energy, or technology projects, with a working understanding of how local politics and community dynamics actually play out A skilled relationship and coalition builder who earns trust with a diverse group of stakeholders, and who maintains relationships through difficult conversations The ability to represent a company credibly in public settings, including town halls, hearings, and press interviews Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to turn a complex operational plan into plain language that a local official or reporter can understand and respond to The ability to work independently, get up to speed quickly on complex policy issues, and manage multiple concurrent engagements across different markets without losing track of any of them Based in Indiana or Kentucky or willing to relocate to one of them, and prepared to travel regularly across both states Preferred qualifications 7+ years of experience in community engagement specifically on data center, utility, energy, or large-scale industrial infrastructure projects, or in local government Familiarity with land use, zoning, and permitting processes at the county and municipal level in Indiana and/or Kentucky, including local tax abatement and incentive approvals Experience managing corporate social responsibility programs Established relationships with economic development, workforce, or civic organizations in the markets this role covers Experience working with real estate, legal, communications, and policy teams at the same time A genuine interest in the communities where you work, not just the projects you are managing The annual compensation range for this role is listed below.  For sales roles, the range provided is the role's On Target Earnings ("OTE") range, meaning that the range includes both the sales commissions/sales bonuses target and annual base salary for the role. Annual Salary: $265,000 — $295,000 USD Logistics Minimum education: Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience Required field of study:  A field relevant to the role as demonstrated through coursework, training, or professional experience Minimum years of experience: Years of experience required will correlate with the internal job level requirements for the position Location-based hybrid policy: Currently, we expect all staff to be in one of our offices at least 25% of the time.
