The Vinted Group is made up of three business units that support this mission: Vinted Marketplace is Europe's leading platform for second-hand fashion and a go-to destination for all kinds of pre-loved items, with a growing range of categories. Our platform connects millions of members across 20+ markets, helping great items find a new life. Vinted Go enhances the shipping experience with a vast network of over 500,000 pick-up and drop-off points, partnering with more than 60 carriers across Europe, with added services like item verification for peace of mind on high-value pieces. Vinted Pay is the newest part of the Vinted Group, dedicated to bringing secure, reliable payments to buyers and sellers across Europe. Seamlessly integrated into the Vinted app, it helps keep every transaction safe, efficient, and easy for our members. Founded in 2008 in Lithuania, Vinted began as a way for friends to find new homes for clothes they no longer needed. In 2019, we became Lithuania's first unicorn! Today, our headquarters remain in Vilnius, and we've grown with offices across Europe, supported by a team of over 2,000 people. Missions and activities of the position 1. Project phase – owner's engineer for Maintenance Represent Maintenance in every phase of new equipment projects (starting with the MRS1 cross-belt sorter), from design reviews to FAT, SAT, commissioning and ramp-up. For the sorter, whose design is already set, take over the installed system and optimise it after go-live. Work side by side with the OEM / integrator engineers: collect technical knowledge, challenge design choices, maintainability, access, spare-part strategy and the proposed maintenance plan before they are frozen. Define and verify the Maintenance acceptance criteria (documentation, training, spare parts, safety, availability targets). The Maintenance sign-off is mandatory: no handover to operations without it. Track and drive to closure the technical punch list and warranty issues raised during commissioning and the warranty period. 2. Technical file & spare parts Build and own the equipment technical file: as-built electrical and mechanical drawings, PLC and software versions, parameter backups, network architecture, safety documentation, OEM manuals. Create the asset hierarchy and criticality analysis in the CMMS. Define the critical spare-parts list (references, min/max stock, lead times) and keep it up to date. Reduce dependency on the OEM: identify and qualify second-source suppliers for critical parts, run compatibility tests and document equivalences. Propose spare-parts and supplier decisions to the Maintenance Manager; after an initial period, take these decisions autonomously within agreed limits, with the Maintenance Manager's validation. 3. Maintenance strategy & procedures Write and maintain preventive maintenance plans, corrective procedures and troubleshooting guides for the equipment family, based on OEM data, FMEA and field experience. Monitor equipment performance (availability, MTBF, MTTR, top failure modes), lead root-cause analysis on recurring or major failures and implement permanent corrective actions. Challenge the original design when needed and drive engineering changes: retrofits, drive and firmware updates, software or parameter optimisation, with the OEM and internal stakeholders. 4. Training & technical support Train the operational maintenance team (technicians and operatives) on the equipment, its software/HMI and the troubleshooting procedures; validate their autonomy level. Act as the level-2 / level-3 technical expert for the equipment family on site and remotely, across sites. 5. Escalation, vendor & SLA management Own technical escalations through to resolution: with the Tetris team (Vinted's internal tools and sorting logic) when the issue is on the software or data side, and with OEM / integrator support (SAV) when it is on the equipment side. Lead the diagnosis that tells which side an issue comes from (equipment, controls, Vinted software), with facts and data. Work within the after-sales and maintenance agreements already in place with OEMs: make the most of them day to day, monitor performance against SLAs and warranty terms, feed lessons learned into future renewals, and provide the technical evidence to the program managers, who own the contractual relationship. Prepare and lead technical review meetings with OEMs and integrators. 6. Safety & compliance Ensure the equipment and its maintenance comply with machine safety requirements (CE marking, safety functions, lock-out/tag-out) and site H&S standards. Support safety audits and regulatory inspections, and drive the resulting corrective actions to completion. Occasional responsibilities Take ownership of additional equipment families (e.g. conveyors, AMR fleets, Monk lines) once the cross-belt is stable. Support pre-project technical due diligence on new equipment (specifications, vendor benchmarks, maintainability review). Participate in the hiring and onboarding of maintenance technicians and future engineers. Interests, constraints, difficulties of the position High-visibility role on new strategic automation investments. Site-based in an operational warehouse, with regular presence on the shop floor. Regular travel to MRS1, OEM premises (FAT) and other Vinted Go sites, especially during commissioning. Day-based role, no on-call. Flexibility needed during commissioning, ramp-up and major incidents (possible early, late or weekend work). Needs to influence without authority: OEMs, integrators, IT and program management teams. Your profile Knowledge & experience Engineering degree (Master's / Bac+5) in automation, electrical, mechatronics or industrial engineering, or Bac+2/3 with equivalent proven experience. At least 3 years' experience, ideally 5 or more, as Equipment Engineer, Automation Engineer, Tool Owner or Maintenance/Reliability Engineer in a highly automated environment: parcel sortation and intralogistics, airport baggage handling, logistics or other automated industries. Automation background required. Proven involvement in at least one industrial equipment project from FAT/SAT to ramp-up, working with OEMs or integrators. Technical skills Able to read and diagnose complete PLC and HMI programs (Siemens TIA Portal and/or Rockwell, Beckhoff) and to make controlled modifications; industrial networks (Profinet, Profibus, EtherCAT, Ethernet/IP). Drives (parameters, firmware), servo motors, sensors, scanners / DWS, pneumatics; reading electrical and mechanical schematics. Retrofit experience and component qualification (equivalence, compatibility testing) Safety PLCs and machine safety functions. Understanding of the interfaces between equipment controls, SCADA/WCS and IT systems. Reliability methods: FMEA, RCA (5 Why, Ishikawa, 8D), criticality analysis; CMMS and PM planning. Sortation equipment experience (cross-belt, tilt-tray, shoe sorters) is a strong plus. French electrical certification (habilitation électrique BR / B2V / BC) or ability to obtain it. Fluent French and professional English (OEMs and the Vinted Go network work in English). Behavioural skills Strong ownership: treats the equipment as their own, from design to end of life. Able to challenge OEM and integrator engineers constructively, with facts and data. Structured and disciplined in documentation. Good teacher: enjoys transferring knowledge to technicians. Calm and solution-oriented under production pressure; strong safety mindset. Please note: the main tasks and skills identified and noted in the function described above may need to evolve depending on the constraints and organisation specific to the company and its environment. They are, therefore, indicative and not contractual. Working at Vinted Individual learning budget Each year, you'll be given a learning budget (starting at €3,000), and a total of up to 10 working days over a 2-year period to support your personal and professional development. Equal opportunity We welcome applications from everybody, regardless of your background, identity, or life experiences. Job openings come with guides, not checklists. If you're excited about a role, but don't identify with every point in the 'About you' section, apply anyway – you might still be the perfect match! We're now expanding GCP into a full portfolio of workshops serving different audiences and career stages, with the ambition of becoming the leading fieldbuilding workshop organizer in AI safety and biosecurity. This means building new programs, new formats, and the systems to deliver reliably at scale. We're looking for a GCP Program Manager to build and lead at least two strands of our expanding workshop portfolio, reporting to Sam Glendenning, who leads the Global Challenges Project. You'll have broad ownership of your programs, from deciding what they should achieve and who they should serve through to delivering the workshops themselves. This includes outreach and marketing strategy, participant selection, guest recruitment, workshop design, team leadership, in-person delivery, and impact evaluation. This is an unusually hands-on role. You'll shape the strategy behind your programs, build the systems needed to run them effectively, and then lead them in person. Because we run our portfolio experimentally, individual programs may change or be discontinued, but this role is not tied to any single program. You'll own a portfolio that evolves as we learn what works. What You'll Do Own two or more GCP programs. You'll take responsibility for their strategy, design, delivery, and evaluation. Programs you may own include: Workshops for students newer to AI safety, for professionals considering a pivot into AI safety, or for accelerating people into politics or policy Workshop support for other organizations, from advice and coordination to running workshops on their behalf A high-impact format you propose (we're open to strong cases for new programs) Run programs experimentally. We're testing which of these programs offer the most value to the ecosystem. You'll experiment with both the format and purpose of your workshops, and be willing to discontinue programs that aren't working, even after investing significant time in them. Own outreach and participant selection. You'll develop marketing and outreach strategies, build strong applicant pools, and decide who will benefit most from attending each program. Build relationships and recruit guests. High-quality guests are central to the impact of our workshops. You'll proactively build relationships across the field and invite researchers, policymakers, funders, operators, and other experts to participate. Design excellent workshops. You'll develop the structure, sessions, content, and participant experience for each program, holding everything to a very high standard. Lead workshops in person. You'll give talks, introduce guests, advise participants, manage the team on the ground, and take responsibility for how well each workshop runs. Lead your program teams. We organize delivery program by program. You'll direct the work of the GCP team, interns, and volunteers on your programs (typically three to four people per workshop). Once the team grows, you'll likely line-manage one GCP team member and our interns. Measure impact and iterate. You'll collect structured feedback at every workshop, track participant outcomes over the following months, and use the evidence to improve, scale, or discontinue programs. Help GCP scale. You'll contribute to team-wide strategy, build operational structures and automation that let us expand without compromising quality, and help design and launch our internship program. Who You Are Experienced at running events. You've organized and delivered events such as workshops, conferences, or retreats, and you're comfortable making game-time decisions. Strong project delivery experience in complex in-person settings can substitute. Mission-aligned. You care deeply about how the development of advanced AI and biotechnology plays out, and you believe workshops can be a highly effective way to help talented people enter these fields. Good with people, and energized by workshops. Leading three-day residential events is central to this role. You'll need the energy to engage with participants and guests throughout while keeping the event running smoothly. Comfortable managing a small team. Within a year, you'll likely begin managing 2 or more people. Prior experience managing operational or programmatic teams is a strong plus. High agency. You'll have significant ownership over your programs, and we expect you to spot problems early, adapt when plans change, and fix things without waiting to be asked. Highly organized. You'll oversee several programs simultaneously, each with different workstreams, teams, and deadlines. You'll need strong systems for keeping everything on track. Familiar with the AI safety ecosystem. You know the major organizations and people in the field and understand how its parts fit together. You use that context to make good strategic decisions and to point participants toward the right opportunities. Familiarity with biosecurity or US policy is a plus, and matters more for some programs than others. Why Work With Us You'll work toward reducing risks from advanced AI and biotechnology, two of the most important challenges of our time. Both fields need far more talented people than they have, and our workshops move promising people into careers working on them. You'll build and develop your own programs, lead the teams delivering them, and see the results firsthand. GCP already has a strong brand, an excellent reputation, and a long track record. You'll build on one of the ecosystem's most successful workshop programs while joining a team with the ambition to become the leading workshop organizer in the space. You'll work closely with high-profile guests across AI safety and biorisk, developing a strong professional network. We're building a world-class team, so you'll be in good company. Work alongside people who've come to Kairos from METR, Coefficient Giving, Rethink Priorities, the UK AI Security Institute, and CEA who share your commitment to impact. We may be able to sponsor visas for the UK or US, depending on individual circumstances, including but not limited to O-1A visas. We can't make guarantees regarding visa approval. Our Culture We're a small, high-trust team motivated by the urgent challenge of making advanced AI go well. We try hard to figure out where we're wrong, which means we say uncomfortable things to each other and change our minds fairly often. We value collaborative truth-seeking, a scout mindset, agility, and an alliance mindset with the broader ecosystem. We also believe meaningful work should be enjoyable. We support each other's well-being, celebrate wins, and maintain a healthy sense of humor even when the work is hard. Application Process We're reviewing applications on a rolling basis.
