Your work will focus on developer-facing libraries, runtime components or a combination of both. You'll design clear abstractions for low-level hardware capabilities, improve reliability and performance, and support developers integrating these libraries into the wider software stack. You will take ownership of library changes from design and implementation through review, integration, release and ongoing maintenance. Deliver dependable library releases through packaging, dependency validation, release notes and the maintenance fixes developers need. About OLIX AI is growing faster than any technology in history and the explosion in demand has created a massive infrastructure gap; we can no longer build chips or power stations fast enough to keep up. The industry is still leaning on a ten-year-old hardware blueprint that has reached its limit. A new paradigm that is faster and more efficient will be the biggest economic opportunity of the next century and create the most important company of the next decade. The OLIX Decode Accelerator 1 (DX-1) is the first accelerator architected specifically for decode. Rack-scale co-design of logic, data movement, packaging, optics and interconnect enables a step change in system level performance. The Role We're searching for a Software Engineering Intern to join the London team in Summer 2027 building the software stack (compiler, firmware, runtime, simulation and tooling) for our next-generation Accelerator. DX-1 is a dataflow architecture built specifically for decode, deployed in a disaggregated inference environment. Responsibilities Project Ownership: Own and deliver scoped projects on your team's roadmap, with a named mentor and a defined outcome by the end of your term. Build and Ship: Contribute production code to our compiler, runtime, simulation or developer tooling, to the same standard as the rest of the team. Optimize Performance: Apply techniques such as layout, scheduling and tiling, or extend our simulation so that it models real system behaviour more faithfully. Partner Across Teams: Work directly with compiler, systems, FPGA and ASIC engineers to understand device trade-offs and where your work fits. Measure and Communicate: Ground conclusions in measurement rather than assumption, and report results clearly. Skills & Experience Working toward a Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, mathematics, or a related field, with an available co-op or internship term. Practical experience with C/C++ programming beyond coursework. Solid systems fundamentals, including memory hierarchies, concurrency, and performance analysis. Demonstrated depth in either compilers or systems software. Familiarity with ML framework internals, low-level programming, or optimisation techniques. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically and creatively. Excellent teamwork and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. Compensation Competitive salary: commensurate with experience, skills, and location Due to U.S. export control regulations, candidates' eligibility to work at OLIX depends on their most recent citizenship or permanent residency status. We are generally unable to consider applicants whose most recent citizenship or permanent residence is in certain restricted countries (currently including Iran, North Korea, Syria, Cuba, Russia, Belarus, China, Hong Kong, Macau, and Venezuela). Applicants who have subsequently obtained citizenship or permanent residency in another country not subject to these restrictions may still be eligible. Compensation: £66K • Paid pro rata for the duration of the internship £66K Find more English Speaking Jobs in United Kingdom on Arbeitnow

About us: Founded by former Google search engineers with PhDs in AI from ETH Zurich, DeepJudge helps legal teams unlock and apply the knowledge inside their organizations through world-class enterprise search and AI infrastructure – enabling them to automate workflows, build knowledge-powered applications, and turn institutional knowledge into a lasting advantage. Every organization can license the same AI models, but no two organizations share the same institutional knowledge. Decades of experience, work product, and precedent are often fragmented across systems, underused, and inaccessible. DeepJudge makes this expertise instantly available and actionable – helping legal teams find the right information faster, surface relevant knowledge, and apply it where it matters most. Our platform is trusted by many of the world's leading law firms and legal teams, including Holland & Knight, Gunderson Dettmer, Cozen O'Connor, ArentFox Schiff, CMS Switzerland, Schoenherr, and others. Headquartered in Switzerland with a growing team across North America and Europe, DeepJudge is shaping the future of how professional knowledge is discovered and applied. At DeepJudge, we move with urgency, think rigorously, and work closely with our clients to build products that solve meaningful problems. If you want to help define how AI transforms professional knowledge work, we'd love to hear from you. About the role: We're hiring engineers for a greenfield project. Fundamental implementation decisions are still open. You'll help make those decisions, test ideas, and build and operate the resulting systems in production. We're looking for engineers with experience building stateful backend systems. Experience with storage systems, distributed execution, or data processing infrastructure would be particularly relevant. You should be comfortable investigating unfamiliar problems, questioning assumptions, and making technical decisions with incomplete information. What you'll do: Taking end-to-end ownership of core components of our new data platform, from design to running in production Write reliable, production-grade software and help set high engineering standards for a growing system You're a great fit if you: Have strong fundamentals and can think from first principles, turning rough ideas into well-designed abstractions Have experience shipping and operating backend systems while paying careful attention to correctness, reliability, and performance Have experience working with databases (SQL and/or NoSQL) and a solid understanding of how they work Want real ownership and are energised, not slowed down, by ambiguity (Nice to have) Have experience with data engineering or big data technologies (Nice to have) Have experience working with or building stateful infrastructure, such as job schedulers, workflow engines, or data processing systems (Nice to have) Have experience evaluating and optimizing large LLM workloads for quality and cost. (Nice to have) Have startup experience or open-source contributions What you can look forward to: Co-Ownership of a core platform Hard, meaningful engineering problems across orchestration, storage, and distributed systems Room to grow with the platform – as it scales, so does your scope Location: Office 5min walking distance from Zurich central station, where we primarily work on site At DeepJudge, we believe great teams are built on diverse perspectives and experiences. We are proud to be an equal opportunity employer and are committed to fostering an inclusive, high-performance culture where everyone can thrive. We welcome applicants of all backgrounds and do not discriminate based on race, religion, color, national origin, gender, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, age, marital status, disability, veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law. If this role excites you, but you feel you don't meet every qualification, we encourage you to apply anyway and tell us why you'd be a great fit.
