At Vio we believe booking accommodation should feel smart, fair, and effortless — never overwhelming or unclear. As one of the world's fastest-growing travel tech platforms, we help millions of users make smarter travel decisions by comparing stays across 100+ booking sites — so they can find the perfect place, at the best price, anywhere in the world. We cut through the noise and complexity of hotel and vacation rental booking, surfacing real value with clarity, transparency, and full support. No tricks. No confusion. Just great stays — booked with confidence. With operations in 100+ markets and growing fast, our mission is to reshape how people discover and book accommodation through technology travelers can trust. Who we're looking for We are looking for a hands-on Quality Platform Lead to own Vio's quality strategy and automation platform across web, mobile, browser extensions, internal tooling and related surfaces. This is a technical leadership role (Staff IC) reporting to the Director of Engineering. You define what good looks like for quality, decide where scarce testing effort goes, and give teams the confidence to ship. Your levers are release gates, quality telemetry, and a developer experience that makes the right tests easy to write and keep alive. Product engineers own the tests for the features they build. Your remit is the platform, the strategy and the enablement that make that work hold up at scale. There is no QA department here and we have no plans to create one. Where you'll start Web: Playwright, Checkly, BrowserStack Mobile: Patrol (Flutter) Coverage gaps across white-labels, browser extensions, widgets, APIs and internal tooling Web: Playwright, Checkly, BrowserStack Mobile: Patrol (Flutter) Coverage gaps across white-labels, browser extensions, widgets, APIs and internal tooling The tooling can stay as it is. With a clear case you can migrate or rebuild. E2E coverage today is thin, so a different platform is genuinely on the table if it serves speed, maintainability and DX better. We have no predefined answer. AI-assisted tooling is an open area too. We have no established practice for agent-generated tests or AI-assisted triage, so your judgment on what earns a place in the platform carries real weight. What we lack today is clear ownership of strategy, release gates and shared quality telemetry, plus a low-friction path for engineers to spend their testing effort on the highest-risk scenarios. How the role works Your time splits between hands-on platform work, enablement, strategy and stakeholder telemetry. One insourced QA Engineer supports you. You own the technical direction, the standards and the quality outcomes. Once the platform has low friction, product engineers write and maintain the tests for the domains they own. You enable that through patterns, docs, reusable modules, CI checks and risk-based guidance. Gatekeeping releases sits outside the role. Expect no direct people-management responsibilities in the near future. Any further QE hire gets evaluated against the ~1:50 rule once the value is proven, and we have no committed headcount plan beyond that. What you'll own Quality strategy and platform Own the quality strategy and the automation platform across products, covering direction, standards and day-to-day health Decide whether to keep, evolve or replace the current tooling, with clear trade-offs on speed, maintainability and DX Set coding standards and patterns for test code, and keep the suite focused on the tests that earn their place Release gates and telemetry Build automated release gates into CI/CD and define what protects the core journeys Give Product, Engineering and leadership real-time quality telemetry on release readiness, risk and pipeline health Put failure triage and flaky-test quarantine in place, so every failure is worth acting on Risk-based coverage and testability Work with Product and Engineering to protect high-impact journeys and APIs Retire flaky and low-value tests, and concentrate effort where the risk is highest Act as the technical stakeholder for testability (hooks, mocks, contract tests, test data) and get those improvements onto team roadmaps Developer enablement Make it easy for product engineers to write, run and maintain tests locally and in CI Embed quality into how teams plan and ship, and mentor the insourced QA Engineer Drive a measurable increase in developer satisfaction with quality tooling and DX What success looks like in 12 months Platform ownership. You have taken over the automation platform across products and own it outright, with direction, standards and health all unambiguous, whether you kept the tooling or replaced it. Gates and focus. Release gates on the core journeys are fast and deterministic, and testing effort sits on the highest-risk scenarios. Dev ownership and satisfaction. Writing and maintaining tests is a routine part of Definition of Done, and developer satisfaction with quality tooling and DX has measurably improved. Telemetry. Eng and Product work from live release-readiness and risk dashboards, failures triage cleanly, and flaky tests go into quarantine. Less manual drag. Regular releases go out without manual testing, with exploratory testing reserved for major new work. Who you are You have a track record of building or overhauling automation platforms (SWE / QE / SDET) You write production-grade code across app, test and infra repos. Language matters less to us than depth, though our stack today leans on TypeScript/JS, Elixir, Go, Python and Dart. You use AI agents effectively in your own engineering workflow and can judge where they belong inside a quality platform, from test generation to failure triage You have cross-platform web and mobile automation judgment, and can weigh unified toolchains against separate ones objectively You have deep CI/CD and test infrastructure experience: GitHub Actions, device clouds, parallelisation, test data You can translate quality risk into telemetry and decisions that Eng, Product and leadership act on You are a hands-on builder who wants to code the platform yourself You design platforms developers adopt, and you prioritise risk-based coverage Trade-offs we accept: depth on one platform when the other is learnable, and no travel or booking domain background. Why join us now? Full ownership of the quality strategy and the automation platform, with a mandate for enablement We are one of the most innovative and fastest-growing accommodation booking platforms in the world today, having grown our bookings 30x between 2017 and 2025, and catering to the needs of over 100 million unique visitors worldwide each year. We do that by harnessing the power of advanced algorithms and an innovative suite of power features and managed to overcome the corona crisis remarkably fast ; The mobile applications ( iOS and Android ) we launched in 2023 are already a big success, reaching 5 million installs with great customer reviews, as we are beginning to build Vio as the brand for value-seeking travellers worldwide; We are a passionate and diverse team of tech enthusiasts and creatives with a commitment and focus on the traveler above all else - and it shows in our industry-leading TrustPilot score ; We place huge importance on rewarding our employees for the value they generate by giving Stock Appreciation Rights to all employees. What we offer: Plenty of chances to learn and grow within an open, diverse culture which promotes knowledge sharing, trust and transparency; A great compensation package, perks and benefits (including significant stock appreciation rights); Flexible time off (take as many holidays as you need) and a chance to work remotely; You will be part of a highly international team that enjoys working, eating and playing together in one of the best office locations in Amsterdam; We value good food and offer catered lunches from various cuisines, great coffee, and the occasional barbecue in our garden; We enjoy getting together to celebrate our wins with company events in Amsterdam and abroad; A budget for your dream home office; Access to free mental health support via OpenUp . About Flexport: At Flexport, we believe global trade can move the human race forward. That's why it's our mission to make global commerce so easy there will be more of it. We're shaping the future of a $10T industry with solutions powered by innovative technology and exceptional people. Today, companies of all sizes—from emerging brands to Fortune 500s—use Flexport technology to move more than $19B of merchandise across 112 countries a year. The recent global supply chain crisis has put Flexport center stage as we continue to play a pivotal role in how goods move around the world. We are proud to have the support of the best investors in the game who believe in our mission, solutions and people. Ready to tackle global challenges that impact business, society, and the environment? Come join us. Hundreds of engineers and thousands of freight operators around the world rely on Flexport's internal systems every single day to keep billions of dollars of freight moving. Keeping those systems — and the people who use them — secure is not a compliance checkbox. It's the core infrastructure for a company operating across 112 countries. The PSI (Platform, Security & Infrastructure) team is looking for a Senior Security Engineer to own the security of Flexport's corporate environment: endpoints, identity systems, internal networks, and the SaaS estate. This is a security engineering role, not an IT support role, and not a role where you write policies and hope for the best. You'll build, automate, and be on the ground when things get real. What You'll Do Endpoint & SaaS security Own and mature our endpoint security stack (EDR) across macOS and Windows fleets , writing device policy as code — configuration profiles, remediation scripts, and enforcement rules — with staged rollout and rollback built in. Own security configuration and monitoring for Flexport's critical SaaS applications (Google Workspace, Slack, and similar) through SSPM tooling, catching risky OAuth grants and configuration drift before they become incidents. Access management Drive Flexport's identity posture: SSO coverage, phishing-resistant MFA and passkey rollout, SCIM lifecycle automation, and least-privilege access across the SaaS and cloud estate. Lead Flexport's zero-trust journey — making sure the right people have the right access, with the right controls, verified continuously. Detection & response Build and tune detection rules in our SIEM , turning signal into actionable alerts, not noise. Lead incident response for security events: triage, contain, remediate, and write the retrospective. Vulnerability & risk management Run regular assessments of corporate endpoints and prioritize findings by real business risk. Manage vendor and third-party security reviews , working with procurement and legal to evaluate risk before it lands in our environment. Security enablement & leadership Partner with IT, Engineering, and People teams to embed security into the way we work without creating friction that drives people to workarounds. Develop and maintain runbooks, playbooks, and internal documentation that make the whole team more capable, and mentor engineers earlier in their career. Bring a point of view on how agentic AI tools and browser-based AI assistants change what corporate security needs to watch for . You Should Have Typically 5–8 years of experience in enterprise security, corporate IT security, or information security engineering — we care more about what you've built than the exact number. If you meet most of this, apply. Strong working knowledge of endpoint security tooling: DLP (Cyberhaven, Purview, Varonis, or similar) and EDR (CrowdStrike, SentinelOne, or similar). Practical SIEM experience , writing detection logic, triaging alerts, and reducing false positive noise. Experience leading or playing a significant role in security incident response. Working knowledge of cloud environments (AWS, GCP, or Azure). Nice to Have Experience with network security in a cloud-first environment (ZTNA, SASE, DNS filtering). Hands-on experience with infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform) for security configuration management. Familiarity with SCIM, OIDC, and fine-grained authorization at scale. Experience working in a high-growth, global technology company. Scripting skills in Python, Bash, or similar, for automating detection, response, and operational tasks. Exposure to privacy regulations relevant to a European and global context (GDPR, etc.). How We Work We come to the office 3 times a week to hang out, whiteboard, and ship together. We have the latest hardware and software, including frontier AI models on day one. We're agile, but not dogmatic. Teams decide how they work best. Why This Role Is Special Broad ownership: you're not a cog in a large security org — you own the corporate security posture end to end, from endpoints to observability to incident response. Real stakes: Flexport operates in 112 countries with a global workforce. Security here matters at a genuine scale. Build, don't just operate: we want to automate and engineer our way to a stronger posture, not just run playbooks. You're part of PSI: the platform, security, and infrastructure teams work hand in hand at Flexport. We value engineering quality and treat security as infrastructure, not just policy. We sponsor visas for the right candidate. What's in it for you An opportunity to contribute to one of the fastest-growing companies, where you'll have the chance to create a global impact while being part of a thriving multinational environment. Daily catered lunches incl. vegetarian options, breakfast, snacks and soft drinks available in our office on a daily basis. Commute expenses: Flexport will cover home-office commuting costs for employees living outside of Amsterdam. 25 working days as vacation days based on full-time employment. Health insurance: Flexport offers a collective health insurance plan including a basic package and any available additional packages. Your monthly premium is fully paid by Flexport. A defined pension contribution scheme. Equity program: every team member becomes a shareholder, aligning our success with yours. As a private company in a multi-trillion dollar industry, you have a direct stake in our collective growth and success. Employee Assistance Program through Aetna Resources for Living: Flexport provides an employer-sponsored program at no cost to you and your household members. Parental leave benefit: Flexport is here to support you and your family during one of the most important times in life — the birth of a child. Our parental leave program allows both mothers and partners to take time off from work for pregnancy, childbirth, and to bond with your new child. #LI-onsite #LI-YK1 Commitment to Equal Opportunity At Flexport, our ability to fulfill our mission of making global commerce easy and accessible relies on having a diverse, dedicated and engaged workforce. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment regardless of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, physical and mental disability, health status, marital and family status, sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, military and veteran status, and any other characteristic protected by applicable law. Global Data Privacy Notice for Job Candidates and Applicants Depending on your location, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) may regulate the way we manage the data of job applicants. By submitting your application, you are agreeing to our use and processing of your data as required. Please see our Privacy Notice available at www.flexport.com/privacy for additional information. Product Security (this role!) consists of application and cloud security experts. Their mission is to protect the products we build, covering everything from secure design reviews to threat modelling and penetration testing, ensuring security is embedded from the ground up. Threat Detection & Response focuses on protecting the company by building a robust detection and automation platform. We're proactive in our defence, constantly hacking ourselves to improve our security posture and staying ahead of emerging threats. Our goal is to make Tide resilient against the ever-evolving threat landscape. Identity is responsible for managing Tide's staff identity platform, ensuring that access to systems and infrastructure is secure, seamless, and aligned with modern security practices. The team uses strategies like zero trust, multi-factor authentication, and granular role-based access controls to safeguard our internal operations. While each area has its own focus, collaboration is key - it's why we share the same Slack channel and hold our standups together as one cohesive team, ensuring alignment and seamless communication across all security functions. ABOUT THE ROLE: As a Senior Product Security Engineer you'll: Regularly dive deep into mobile, web app technologies in order to understand feature development and proactively hunt for vulnerabilities Be proficient in securing cloud-native applications, ensuring that security best practices are applied consistently across our cloud environment Be proficient in threat modelling and guide developers in secure design principles to prevent vulnerabilities from being introduced in the first place Help remediate vulnerabilities through strategic initiatives, writing patches, or creating understandable and actionable vulnerability tickets. Be the subject matter expert across a wide range of security areas, particularly in Application Security. Make security invisible when possible, believing that gatekeeping and blocking product teams should be avoided in favour of enabling secure development. Mentor and coach junior engineers, sharing your knowledge to help raise the security bar across the organisation Leverage automation and security tools to seamlessly integrate security into our CI/CD pipelines, ensuring vulnerabilities are caught early without disrupting development. WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR: First and foremost you will be passionate about security and resilient software development processes. You will enjoy hunting for vulnerabilities in our web and mobile applications and working with our engineering teams to remediate them strategically. You will be comfortable explaining security issues and concerns to product owners, engineers, VPs and executives and love the feeling you get when this results in them releasing a more resilient product. You will be a keen follower of all things Infosec and constantly be on the lookout for ways to apply new industry trends, tools and automations to your day-to-day role. What makes you a great fit: You have a breadth and depth of knowledge across AppSec; you're expected to understand topics like why private keys should be stored in the Secure Enclave, the differences between URL Schemes and Universal Links, what presigned URLs are in the context of S3 and the safest storage mechanisms for modern browsers. You know Burp Suite (or your favourite attack proxy) inside and out; bonus points if you've written or contributed to an extension that enhances its functionality. You have excellent spoken and written communication skills to articulate vulnerabilities clearly and persuasively, advocating for their remediation even when faced with competing production pressures. As a passionate senior security engineer, you have a blog, public speaking engagements, bug bounty profile, or a Git repository showcasing your work. You're comfortable writing proof-of-concept (POC) scripts to demonstrate your findings and their potential impact, as needed. You have hands-on experience with securing cloud-native applications, ensuring that best practices are consistently applied WHAT YOU'LL GET IN RETURN: Competitive salary Group Life Insurance Vitality Health Insurance, with a proactive focus on mental and physical wellbeing 24/7 Employee Assistance Programme 25 days holiday with the ability to buy extra days We invest in your development with a £1,000 professional L&D budget per year Access to 'salary sacrifice' benefits such as Cycle to Work scheme and pension contribution Spacious brand-new office in Liverpool street with an all-day snacks bar Enhanced family-friendly leave 3 days for L&D or volunteering time off per year Flexible working options Sabbatical leave Share options TIDEAN WAYS OF WORKING At Tide, we champion a flexible workplace model that supports both in-person and remote work to cater to the specific needs of our different teams. Senior Security Engineer

hyperexponentialLondon (hybrid), Germany (Hybrid)yesterday
Full TimeHybridSenior
goawsgithubmental healthremediationinsurance+4

Hi 👋 I'm Nitesh, Engineering Manager at hyperexponential. I'm one for the career mentors in the Product Foundations stream. We tackle the fundamental problems every product team at hx runs into, so the vertical streams can focus on building features for customers. Right now that means deployments, observability, security, AI observability tooling and a permission service that other value streams will build on. I'm hiring a Senior Security Engineer to join us as our second security hire. The foundations are already in place. We've chosen and implemented our tooling, and our repositories and cloud environments are onboarded. The next step is shaping how security actually works here. This won't be a traditional, hierarchical security function. Our engineers go straight to the person who owns an issue and ask them to fix it, and you'll help define what security looks like in that model. There's no established playbook for this yet, which is what makes it exciting. If that sounds like your kind of challenge, I'd love to hear from you. About hyperexponential (hx) At hyperexponential, we're building the AI-powered platform that enables the world's most critical decisions in a £7 trillion industry, which risks to take, and how to price them. These are the decisions that shape real-world outcomes: whether rockets successfully launch into space, autonomous vehicles make it to market, or communities recover after major storms. Until now, insurance has been making billion-pound decisions using outdated tools. We're changing that. Our platform brings together data, AI, and human expertise to give insurers the fastest path from submission to decision - helping them move faster, act smarter, and take on more risk with confidence. Backed by a16z, Highland Europe, and Battery Ventures, we're scaling globally - already trusted by nearly 50 of the world's largest insurers, with zero churn and billions in premiums flowing through hx. What began as a single product in one market has rapidly evolved into a multi-product, multi-territory platform powering every stage of pricing and underwriting. AI is at the core of what we do - from building the world's first domain-specific AI peer programmer for insurance (think GitHub Copilot with a PhD in actuarial science) to shaping agentic workflows that reinvent how this industry operates. What makes hx different is the people who build it. Here, impact isn't tied to title or tenure; it's defined by the challenges you take on and the discipline you bring. Surrounded by peers who stretch you, you'll do the best, hardest work of your life in a company engineered to endure. If that sounds like you, join us in building what comes next. About the Security function The Security function's mission is to safeguard the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of our customers' data and hx's systems. By fostering a culture of vigilance, risk mitigation, and continuous improvement, we maintain the highest standards of security excellence. Security at hx underpins every product and every customer interaction. As we scale our multi-product platform globally and adopt AI across the business, the team ensures that innovation and growth are matched with rigorous security practices. We design controls, shape culture, and guide decisions that protect our business, our customers, and the wider industry. As a Senior Security Engineer, you'll be the second engineer in our security team, working directly alongside our Staff Security Engineer. The foundations are in place, with our core tooling chosen, rolled out and onboarded across our repositories and cloud environments. Much of how security works at hx is still to be built, though, so you'll have real autonomy to shape it, with a direct line to the teams who own the issues you find. You'll strengthen hx's security posture by driving continuous improvement across our technical teams: owning security reviews, running and extending our security tooling, and turning findings into fixes, often by writing the code or making the infrastructure change yourself. You'll champion security initiatives across the organisation, help teams adopt AI securely, and use AI to multiply your own impact. This role combines hands-on technical depth, ownership and influence to make security a practical part of how our teams work every day. Check out our Engineering Candidate Hub for a behind the scenes look at the team you would be joining! What you'll be doing Modify, maintain, and extend our security tooling across engineering and IT environments, including CSPM, SAST, SCA, and secret scanning, ensuring it's reliable, well tuned, and genuinely useful to the teams who depend on it. Use our tooling and your own judgement to proactively identify gaps across cloud security, dependencies, secrets, and code. Work with the owning teams (starting with 2 to 3 where the gaps are greatest) to secure their commitment to prioritise remediation, and see it through. Write code and make infrastructure changes yourself to fix security issues and improve our tooling, rather than just recommending improvements. Own security reviews end to end, partnering with engineering teams on new designs, significant changes, and new tools, and working through follow-up questions and challenges until each review is resolved. Take ownership of and complete a medium-sized security project within your first three months. Partner with our IT team on security best practice, helping implement practical improvements in authentication, authorisation, and security hygiene across our corporate environment. Guide teams across the business on adopting AI securely, from assessing new AI tools and use cases to mitigating risks like data leakage and prompt injection, while using AI yourself to increase your impact. Support our compliance programmes, such as ISO 27001 and SOC 2, by helping teams implement and evidence technical controls. Act as a trusted voice for our technical teams, owning security issues raised with them through to resolution and handling the related correspondence. What you'll need to have done Secured AWS cloud environments hands-on: using Cloud Security tooling to find common weaknesses, and fixing them yourself through infrastructure and code changes. Cloud Security experience is required. Secured containerised workloads and infrastructure-as-code, catching issues before they reach production. Experience working with SAST, SCA, and secret scanning tools, including triaging findings, filtering out false positives, and partnering with engineering teams to get real fixes shipped Supported compliance efforts such as ISO 27001, SOC 2, or GDPR by implementing and evidencing technical controls. Used AI to improve your own security work and helped others adopt it safely, with a practical understanding of AI-specific risks such as data leakage, prompt injection, and agents and integrations with excessive permissions. Spotted and addressed non-technical risks, such as weak processes, risky behaviours, and gaps between teams, that can undermine technical security. Discussed security in depth with engineering teams, explaining complex concepts clearly and concisely and influencing teams through to implementation. Taken ownership of security projects and initiatives and driven them to completion independently. You're unlikely to thrive here if You prefer to advise from the sidelines rather than writing code and making the infrastructure changes yourself. You see security as a gatekeeping function rather than a service to the teams you support, whose adoption and trust determine your success. You'd rather wait for direction than take ownership of issues, follow them through to resolution, and manage the correspondence around them. If reading our Culture Document leaves you feeling neutral rather than energised, hx may not be the place where you'll do your best work. We're building something that asks for commitment and conviction, and we want you to feel excited by the opportunity to grow with us. Compensation At hx, we're committed to salary transparency. You'll always have clarity on pay early in the process - our Talent Partner will share details with you during initial conversations - and we're working towards publishing salary information for all roles globally. Because we're building at the intersection of technology/SaaS and insurance, our roles don't always map neatly onto traditional benchmarks. Our approach is to design compensation that's competitive in the market, fair across teams, and aligned with the impact our people make. Equity: We offer equity across all roles at hx, making it a significant component of total compensation. Your Talent Partner will be able to share more details about this. Benefits £5,000 training and conference budget for individual and group development. 25 days of holiday plus 8 bank holidays (33 days total). Company pension scheme via Penfold. Mental health support and therapy via Spectrum.life . Individual wellbeing allowance via Juno. Private healthcare insurance through AXA. Income protection and Life Insurance. Cycle to Work Scheme. Additional perks Top-spec equipment (laptop, screens, adjustable desks, etc.). Regular remote and in-person hackathons, lunch and learns, socials, and game nights. Team breakfasts and lunches, snacks, drinks fridge, and a fun office at The Ministry. Exceptional opportunities for personal development and growth as we build something remarkable together. Interview process Talent Interview (30 minutes) Hiring Manager Interview (60 minutes) Skills Assessment (120 minutes) Values Interview (60 minutes) Meet the CEO (30 minutes) Our commitment to Diversity hxers are at the centre of everything we build. We know that progress depends on diverse perspectives, and we are committed to creating an environment where everyone can thrive, grow, and make an impact. We recognise there is always more to do, and we take responsibility for shaping a workplace that is not only diverse but genuinely inclusive. Diversity is not just the right thing to do, it is key to solving the complex challenges we choose to take on. By welcoming people from all backgrounds and experiences, we strengthen our ability to question assumptions, push boundaries, and design solutions that endure. If you're energised by complexity and motivated to grow, we encourage you to apply and join our global team. Next steps If this opportunity resonates with you, we encourage you to apply or share it with your connections! Our dedicated talent team reviews all applications, and we promise to provide feedback regardless of the outcome.
