Our Mission At Omnea, we're reinventing how enterprise businesses operate, starting with the most painful parts: procurement – where a single purchase can drag on for months, trigger 50+ emails , and pull in Finance, Legal, Security, and IT just to get something approved. We've raised $75M from Khosla Ventures, Insight Partners, and Accel to change that. Our AI-native platform connects every person, step, and system so buying is fast, safe, and efficient – one place to request, automated approvals and renewals, real-time supplier risk, and complete spend visibility. The opportunity is massive. Every enterprise on the planet has this problem and nobody has solved it . We've 10x'd ARR to double-digit millions in 18 months and are trusted by global enterprises like Spotify, MongoDB, Monzo, and Albertsons. We're now the 4th fastest growing startup in Europe & the Sunday Times' #1 Best Medium Sized Tech Company To Work for. Our team previously scaled Tessian ( cybersecurity tech, backed by Sequoia, Balderton, Accel , acquired post-Series C), and our team includes ex-founders operators who've grown unicorns, shipped world-class products, and executed at the highest levels. You'll work alongside leaders like Ben , Abs , Sabrina , and Rebe . Find out more about the team and life at Omnea here . What We're Looking For We're looking for a Frontend Lead Engineer to own the front end at Omnea. Our design system is growing fast, our front-end architecture is becoming more complex, and right now ownership of these things is distributed. You'd be the person who takes this to the next level. You'll work across every product team. You'll own the design system, own the front-end architecture, and set the standard for how we build interfaces. We're a tight-knit group of ambitious builders who hold the bar high. It took over 10,000 interviews to hire our first 50 Omneans. Over the next year, our engineering team will double in size, our enterprise customer base will grow from ~180 to 300+, and revenue will triple. The front end has to scale with it. This is a craft role with real leverage. Almost every engineer at Omnea ships front end. What you build determines how well they do it. Procurement is a harder interface problem than it sounds. Approval workflows that branch and re-route, dense tables people live in all day, intake forms that adapt to what someone is buying. Getting this right is the difference between software people tolerate and software people actually like using. What Can You Expect On Our Engineering Team? Join a Skilled Team. Become part of one of Europe's fastest-growing software companies, working alongside experienced full-stack product engineers and product designers from top technology businesses and startups. Own the Design System. You'll own our design system outright: components, patterns, tokens, documentation, and adoption. You'll partner closely with Design to turn intent into reusable, high-quality primitives. Own the Front-End Architecture. Deployment strategy, performance, build tooling, and the conventions everyone else follows. You'll set the direction rather than inherit it, working alongside the engineers and designers closest to each surface rather than owning it in isolation. Leverage Across Every Team. You'll work with all of our engineering teams on their most front-end-heavy projects. The work you do multiplies across the whole org. A Real Design Partnership. Every cross-functional team at Omnea has a dedicated Product Manager and Product Designer. You'll be the connective tissue between design intent and what actually ships, and the person designers come to when they want to know what's possible. Work with Modern Technology. TypeScript everywhere, React and Next.js on the front end, and Meticulous for automated visual regression testing, so you can refactor the design system without fear. Behind it sits Postgres and AWS serverless infrastructure (Lambda, DynamoDB, and EventBridge), managed through Pulumi and deployed via GitHub Actions, with Datadog for observability. AI-Native Development. AI is core to how we build. Engineers use Claude Code and agentic workflows every day to write, review, and ship code faster, and our product is itself built on AI agents that automate complex procurement workflows. Continuous Delivery. We deploy small, incremental changes to production multiple times per day, enabling rapid iteration and fast customer feedback loops. Collaboration and Autonomy. We operate as a high-trust team where individuals are expected to take ownership while collaborating closely to solve difficult problems. Customers at the Center. We regularly engage directly with customers to understand their problems, gather feedback, and ensure we're building products that create genuine value. About You You're deep in React. You've built complex, production React applications and you understand the framework properly, not just the API surface. Rendering behaviour, state, performance, and where things break at scale. You've owned front-end infrastructure. Rendering strategies, build tooling, bundle performance, and the architectural decisions underneath a large application. You've built or owned a design system. Not just consumed one. You've made the calls on component APIs, driven adoption across teams, and dealt with the messy reality of migration and versioning. You have taste. You care how things look and feel, you notice when something is only 90% right, and you can hold a genuine conversation with designers rather than just implementing tickets. You know CSS deeply. Layout, styling architecture, and building interfaces that hold up across breakpoints, themes, and edge cases. You treat accessibility and motion as part of the craft rather than a checklist at the end. You're a strong engineer first. Your depth and your interest sit in the front end, and that's the point of this role. But you're fluent in TypeScript generally and comfortable working beyond the browser when a problem calls for it. You're motivated by impact. You care about what your work actually achieves, not just how it's built. You thrive with the autonomy to make meaningful decisions and take real ownership of outcomes. You're a team builder. You're excited by maximising team performance, whether that means learning from others or taking the time to explain, give feedback, and level up those around you. You're comfortable with ambiguity. This role is new. Its shape will be partly yours to define, and you're happy tackling problems without a predefined solution, backed by an experienced team. Nice-to-Haves You've worked at design-led companies or somewhere with a genuinely high bar for interface quality. You've performed exceptionally at something else, be it academics, sport, or work. You've gone above and beyond the norm. You love engineering. It's more than a job. You've contributed to open source or worked on side projects just because you enjoy it. Interview Process Before applying, we strongly encourage you to spend a few minutes in our R&D Candidate Hub. It covers our engineering culture, ways of working, interview process, tech environment, and what it's like to build at Omnea. >> R&D Candidate Hub: https://omnea.notion.site/R-D-Candidate-Hub-2f688cce658780f1b942c81cd3a032d4 While this is a front-end specialist role, we expect a core level understanding of TypeScript beyond the browser, so you should be comfortable writing general TypeScript in an exercise that will feel more full-stack than front-end. We assess this as part of our pair programming stage, which is the same standard exercise we run for every engineer. Beyond that baseline, we're looking for genuine depth in React, front-end architecture, and design systems. The process varies slightly by level but generally includes: Initial screening call with the Talent team (30 mins - remote) Pair programming interview in TypeScript (1 hour - remote) Onsite Interviews: front-end system design , engineering culture, engineering leadership interviews (3 hours - in-person) Final interview with our CEO - meet Ben Freeman (CEO & Founder) - 45 mins remote We'll assess level throughout and align interview stages accordingly. We're proud to support visa sponsorship for candidates who need it. At Omnea, we embrace diversity. To build a product that's loved by everyone, we're best served by a team with all sorts of backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives. We encourage you to apply even if your experience doesn't quite match the full job spec! And regardless of your race, religion, colour, gender, or anything else! If you think you could be a good fit for Omnea, please reach out. A few things to note: We offer competitive geo-localised benefits, and you can check out our UK Benefits Package here and our US Benefits Package here . We work Tuesdays, Wednesdays & Thursdays in-person at our offices. At this early stage of our company life-cycle it's important to us that we get this together-time, and you can read more about why we believe this is a winning move here We're commercial, ambitious and we don't pretend otherwise! We're actively seeking folks looking to make the most of a career-defining opportunity, with the hunger to be part of building something really impressive . You can see our values here and our Omnea Future Founder's fund here ! We sometimes use AI note-takers to help us transcribe interview notes, so we can be more present in your interview. If you'd like to opt out of us using automatic transcribers, please note this in the free text field in your application, otherwise we'll take your application as confirmation that you're happy for us to use notetakers (whether added to video calls or in the background). We are proud to be recognised for both our culture and product, and we are just getting started. Join us as we grow! About Ryft Ryft is a regulated payment facilitator and authorised payment institution building the infrastructure layer for modern commerce platforms. We enable marketplaces, SaaS platforms and multi-party ecosystems to embed and monetise payments natively. Our technology handles onboarding, compliance, orchestration, split payments and revenue sharing, allowing our partners to focus on growth while we manage complexity. We are now entering the next phase of scale, expanding into new verticals and building a category-defining embedded payments platform. About the Job Are you an engineering leader who wants to own the systems that connect physical point-of-sale hardware to a modern, scalable payments platform? We are looking for a Tech Lead to head up our Card Present (In-Person Payments) squad. You will lead the technical direction and hands-on delivery of the infrastructure that allows our merchants to take physical payments. You'll work across our C#/.NET backend on AWS, shaping how physical card taps and inserts securely communicate with our event-driven services, split funds, and settle correctly. This is a hands-on, high-impact leadership role. You won't just be managing a Jira board, you'll be deep in the architecture, writing code, mentoring your squad, and owning the technical strategy for our physical terminal estate. You will bridge the gap between cloud infrastructure and physical hardware, ensuring our in-person payment flows are as robust, scalable, and developer-friendly as our online ones. What You'll Work On In-person payments architecture: Leading the technical design for our card-present estate, ensuring low-latency, highly reliable communication between physical terminals and our AWS backend. Terminal & Gateway Integration: Building the critical paths that connect smart payment terminals and Point of Sale (POS) systems into Ryft's core gateway and marketplace routing logic. Hardware-to-cloud flows: Handling the unique complexities of physical payments: offline modes, state synchronization, hardware webhooks, and complex failure modes. Security & Compliance pipelines: Ensuring our physical payment flows remain airtight and fully compliant within heavily regulated environments. Squad Leadership: Setting the technical standard for the Card Present squad. Breaking down complex product requirements into actionable architecture and guiding engineers through delivery. The platform itself: Contributing to our broader event-driven C#/.NET service estate, infrastructure-as-code, and observability tooling alongside other Tech Leads. Responsibilities Lead technical delivery: Architect, build, and ship end-to-end features for our card-present offering. You are the ultimate technical owner of what your squad ships. Design for hardware-cloud correctness: Write and architect services that behave under network drops, partial failure, and hardware concurrency. Idempotency and absolute accuracy are the job, not edge cases. Raise the bar & mentor: Improve the codebase and our engineering practices. Review code rigorously, set conventions, and level up the engineers in your squad. Own it in production: Take real ownership of what goes live: instrumentation, alerting, and incident response for a system where physical merchants are relying on your uptime to make a living. Harness AI, stay in control: Use AI-assisted workflows to multiply your output (we invest heavily in them) while remaining in full command of every line you ship and review. Collaborate: Work day-to-day with your Engineering Manager, Product Managers, hardware vendors, and other squads to deliver seamless omnichannel payment features. Experience & Skills Required Technical Leadership: Proven experience leading technical projects, architecting complex backend systems, and guiding small teams of engineers to deliver high-quality software. Strong backend engineering: Significant commercial experience building and running production backend services. Our backend is C#/.NET, so depth there is ideal, but if you're excellent in another modern typed language and will get fluent fast, we want to hear from you. AWS in production: Hands-on experience running distributed services on AWS (ECS/Fargate, Lambda, SNS/SQS, DynamoDB or similar) and understanding the operational reality that comes with them. Distributed systems judgement: Comfortable reasoning about service boundaries, asynchronous messaging, eventual consistency, and building resilient systems that handle downstream provider outages. AI-augmented, engineer-first: You use AI coding tools effectively to move faster, but you review, understand, and take full ownership of the output. We are not looking for someone who ships code they can't explain. Fast, self-directed learner: A track record of getting productive quickly in unfamiliar domains. Enthusiasm to master the complexities of hardware-software interactions matters more to us than knowing it all on day one. Nice to Have POS & Terminal Integration: Existing experience integrating physical payment terminals, card readers, or Point of Sale (POS) systems into payment gateways. Android Experience: Familiarity with Android development, specifically in the context of building or maintaining applications for smart payment terminals. PCI-DSS & Compliance: Deep understanding of payment scheme rules, PCI-DSS compliance, EMV standards, or Point-to-Point Encryption (P2PE). Infrastructure ownership: Infrastructure-as-code (CloudFormation, CDK, or Terraform), CI/CD pipelines, and containerisation. Why Ryft? If you want to build the systems that move money in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, we'd love to hear from you. We value engineers who care about the craft, speak up with their ideas, and take pride in what they ship. You'll join a team where your voice is heard, your work matters, and there's plenty of room to grow. Find more English Speaking Jobs in United Kingdom on Arbeitnow
Headquarters: Americas Remote About Customer.io Over 9,000 companies — from scrappy startups to global brands — use our platform to send billions of emails, push notifications, in-app messages, and SMS every day. Customer.io powers automated communication that people actually want to receive. We help teams send smarter, more relevant messages using real-time behavioral data. About the role Hi, my name is Diep N, VP, Finance at Customer.io , and I'm looking for a Global Controller to take the close, the books, and our control environment and make them theirs. We're a global, remote-first, private company built on subscription and usage-based revenue, and as we grow we need a controller who can lead the team already in place and sharpen the fundamentals. You'll lead a team of ~7, growing, across revenue accounting, close, AP/AR, payroll, and treasury, and partner closely with me and, given our CFO's broad remit, with stakeholders across Sales, Legal, IT, HR, and Engineering. What you'll do Lead monthly and quarterly close, GL, AP/AR, payroll, and account reconciliations, delivering accurate, timely US GAAP financials. Close currently runs ~10 business days; get us to 6-8 days within your first 12 months, with fewer post-close adjustments and aged reconciliations. Own revenue accounting and serve as our technical accounting authority on subscription and usage-based revenue recognition (ASC 606), including the ARR-to-GAAP bridge: reconciling ARR, billings, deferred revenue, contract assets, and usage true-ups to reported revenue, and explaining the delta to leadership and the board in plain terms. Author technical accounting position memos on contract modifications, SSP allocation, variable consideration, and capitalized contract costs, the work that makes "technical accounting authority" real. Own equity compensation accounting (ASC 718): grant accuracy, 409A timing, expense, modifications, and cap-table integrity, in partnership with stock plan administration. Manage and grow a team of ~7, with room to scale, building trust quickly and developing the leads beneath you. Build a control framework suited to a global, remote-first, private company with subscription and usage-based revenue, keeping the books audit-ready. Own our accounting systems roadmap and drive automation across close and reporting. Own select treasury operations, including cash management and banking relationships, and partner on FX exposure monitoring given our multi-currency footprint. Run our external audit relationship and coordinate with external tax partners on compliance, provisions, and filings. Manage the realities of a distributed, remote-first global team: statutory accounting coordination, payroll and contractor controls, entity reporting, and working with Legal, HR, and Tax on international compliance. What we're looking for 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leading a team through managers or leads. A Big 4 (or equivalent top-tier public accounting) foundation. Deep US GAAP mastery, particular strength in subscription and usage-based revenue recognition (ASC 606). A concrete, personally-owned automation or AI deployment in accounting with a measurable result, eliminating a manual reconciliation, reducing close time, or lowering error rate, that you can speak to in detail. Experience scaling an accounting function that was already running, not building one from zero. A proven track record with external audits and keeping books audit-ready. Strong leadership and communication skills, with credibility partnering with senior, cross-functional stakeholders. Nice to have: internal controls or SOX-readiness experience; remote-first/globally distributed company experience; M&A or deal accounting exposure; CPA license, active or inactive. Compensation & Benefits We believe in transparency. Starting salary for this role ranges from $250k to $280k USD (or equivalent in local currency), structured by geographic zone and depending on experience. In addition to base salary, this role includes an equity grant in the form of stock options, so you share in the success you help build. Our inclusive benefits package supports your well-being and growth, including 100% coverage of medical, dental, vision, mental health, and supplemental insurance premiums for you and your family. We also offer 16 weeks paid parental leave, unlimited PTO, stipends for remote work and wellness, a professional development budget, and more. See full benefits here → Our Process No gotchas, no trick questions - just a clear, human process designed to help both of us make an informed decision. 30-minute recruiter screen 45-minute hiring manager screen Two 30-minute cross-functional chats: one with a Legal partner, one with a People partner 60-minute case review call 30-minute bar raiser call with our CFO All final candidates will be asked to complete a background check and employment verifications as part of our pre-employment process. Customer.io recognizes the stifling impact of systemic injustice on diverse communities. We commit to using our influence to increase inclusion and equity within the tech industry. We strive to build an inclusive team culture, implement bias-free hiring practices, and develop community partnerships to expand our global impact. Zoom is the only video conference platform that we use, virtual interviews will be conducted using the video capability (i.e., not via the chat), and offers will be extended in writing on official Customer.io letterhead. Headquarters: Remote, United States Principal Product Manager, Agentic AI REMOTE, United States JOB OVERVIEW Legion is building AI agents that carry out workforce management work, not agents that describe it. Much of what is presented as AI in workforce management today is a conversational layer over an existing scheduling screen. The more substantial problem — software that reasons over demand, labor regulation, and employee preferences, then acts, with a person in the loop wherever the stakes require one — remains unsolved across the category. Legion intends to solve it, and this role leads the product work to get there. You will take an agent surface from operational research through specification, prototype, evaluation, and enterprise deployment, working hands-on throughout. You will work closely with Legion's AI Lab engineers and with our CEO, who is engaged in this work daily. RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES Agent definition. Determine what an agent is responsible for, which tools it may call, what it must escalate, what it must never do, and what a manager sees when it acts. These decisions affect employee pay and legal compliance. Much of this work is pre-launch, so you will shape the direction rather than inherit it. Problem selection. The hardest judgment in agentic product work is identifying which workflows suit an agent and which do not. You will spend substantial time inside customer operations — district managers, store managers, labor operations, frontline employees — and return with a ranked, defensible view of where an agent creates measurable value and where it does not. The human-in-the-loop contract. Scheduling decisions affect income, childcare arrangements, and legal protections. For each agent action you will define where autonomy is appropriate, the escalation thresholds, how a manager overrides the system, what is logged, and how a compliance team audits the outcome. Legion treats this as a first-class design problem. Build quality. You are accountable for what ships, not for what was specified. That means staying engaged through implementation: reviewing the build against the specification as it comes together, using the product yourself before anyone else is asked to, joining bug triage and design review, catching drift from intent while it is still cheap to correct, and holding a release when the quality is not there. Our customers experience the build, not the document. A well-written specification that produced a product managers do not trust is failed product work, and we assess it that way. Evaluation. Build and maintain the evaluation sets that determine whether an agent is ready to ship and whether it is degrading in production — writing the cases, reviewing failure traces, setting the pass criteria. You will be the person who holds a release when the demonstration is persuasive and the evaluation is not. Specifications. Legion uses Functional Requirements Documents as its ground-truth specification layer; release notes, enablement material, and sales content are generated from maintained specifications rather than reconstructed from code or institutional memory. Write FRDs that meet that standard and keep them accurate after release. A specification is where the work begins, not where your responsibility ends. Commercialization. Partner with go-to-market on packaging, metering, pricing inputs, and field readiness. Agentic products raise difficult commercial questions — what unit to meter, what a customer is paying for when software performs work a person previously did — and you will be expected to hold a considered position on them. Design-partner delivery. Lead agent deployments with large enterprise design partners: scoping the pilot, establishing success criteria before it begins, joining failure reviews, and determining what becomes generally available and what remains bespoke. TECHNICAL EXPECTATIONS Legion is looking for a product manager who builds, rather than one who directs others who build. In a typical week, this role involves: Writing and iterating on prompts and system prompts directly, and explaining why a change improved a behavior Standing up a working prototype of a proposed agent — tool definitions, structured outputs, retries, guardrails — before engineering is asked to build anything Using agentic coding tools (Claude Code or equivalent) daily: prototyping, data analysis, specification work, and reading the codebase behind your specifications Reviewing an execution trace and diagnosing whether a failure originates in a tool description, a retrieval gap, a context-window constraint, an under-specified output schema, or a genuine model limitation Building and running evaluation sets, and interpreting the results without a data scientist to translate them Holding an informed position on retrieval design, tool-use patterns, structured output, model routing, latency and cost trade-offs, and multi-tenant safety in enterprise SaaS Opening pull requests against our codebase — a prototype, a prompt change, an evaluation fixture, a specification stub. Pushing code is permitted and actively encouraged for product managers who want to work that way. It is not a requirement of the role, and the same review standards apply to everyone. Following model releases, agent frameworks, and protocol changes, and translating them into roadmap implications within days rather than quarters We recognize that this is a demanding technical bar for a product role. It reflects what the work actually requires. REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS 7+ years in product management (Senior) or 10+ years (Principal), including at least 2 years shipping LLM-backed features to external, paying users — not internal tools, proofs of concept, or hackathon projects Demonstrated hands-on capability of the kind described above. Expect to show your work. Substantial enterprise B2B SaaS experience: multi-tenant architecture, role-based access control, audit trails, single sign-on, data residency, security review, and enterprise procurement. You should be able to anticipate what a customer's security questionnaire will ask about an LLM feature. A record of taking an ambiguous, operationally complex domain problem through to a shipped product with demonstrated adoption — not only launch Evidence of staying with a product through implementation and owning its quality at release. We will ask about a release you delayed or stopped, what you found, and how you found it. The judgment to recognize what current models cannot do reliably, and the willingness to say so when a room expects a different answer Comfort working inside a codebase. An engineering background is not required, but you should be able to read the code behind what you are specifying, run it locally, and open a pull request. Strong written communication. Legion runs on documents, and candidates are evaluated substantially on how they write. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND ATTRIBUTES Direct experience in workforce management, HCM, ERP, supply chain, or another operationally complex enterprise domain with compliance exposure Familiarity with labor compliance regimes — predictive scheduling ordinances, meal and rest break rules, union work rules — or demonstrated ability to become fluent in a comparable regulatory domain quickly Background in demand forecasting, optimization, or decision systems Experience building platform or authoring surfaces that customers configure themselves An engineering or technical degree, or prior experience as an engineer or data scientist Experience with products sold into frontline-heavy industries: retail, hospitality, healthcare, or manufacturing SCOPE OF ROLE, STATED PLAINLY So that candidates can assess fit early: This is an individual contributor role. There is no team to inherit and no management responsibility at present. The role is accountable for what ships, not for what is specified. Writing the specification is a portion of the work, not the whole of it. This is not an AI strategy or vendor-evaluation role. The work is product definition, prototyping, specification, evaluation, and delivery. The role requires forming an independent point of view from operational research. Direction will not be handed down in detail. The environment carries genuine ambiguity. The category is being defined as we work in it, and model capabilities shift underneath the roadmap. SELECTION PROCESS Our process includes a practical exercise: a sanitized workforce management problem, for which candidates produce an agent design — scope, tools, failure modes, human-in-the-loop contract, and evaluation plan — together with a working prototype they built themselves, using any model provider they prefer. The exercise is then discussed with the people the candidate would work alongside. We weigh it heavily, and we compensate candidates for the time. COMPENSATION & BENEFITS Salary Range: $280,000-$300,000 +bonus (tied to business outcomes) +Stock Equity At Legion, we offer competitive compensation and benefits packages to all employees. As a fully remote employer, pay for positions is determined using local, national, and industry-specific survey data. Our posted salary range is done so in good faith based on national data and may be refined for a candidate's region/town/cost of living. We strive to make competitive offers that allow employees room for future growth. Salaries will be based on the applicant's location, level of experience, education, and specialized knowledge and skills. Legion delivers cutting-edge technology in an easy-to-use platform and mobile app that employees love. If you're ready to make an impact and grow your career, Legion is where you belong. Join us in making hourly work rewarding and fulfilling. BACKGROUND AND OPPORTUNITY There are almost 75 million hourly workers in the United States, representing more than half of the entire workforce. Historically, managing hourly employees has been difficult due to high attrition (average of 60%) and high replacement costs (average of $3,200 per employee in retail). The ongoing labor shortage and competition from the gig economy make it more difficult to attract and retain hourly employees. The top reasons hourly employees leave their jobs are a lack of schedule empowerment, poor communication with employers, and an inability to get paid early. Gen Z and the millennial workforce demand gig-like flexibility, modern technology, and compelling work options. Legion's mission is to turn hourly jobs into good jobs, serving the hourly workers who make up the majority of the US workforce. We believe in empowering employees and helping employers be efficient and innovative by enabling intelligent automation powered by Legion's Workforce Management platform to optimize labor efficiency and enhance the employee experience simultaneously. Legion WFM was built for the cloud with AI at the core and designed to handle the complexity of modern businesses and meet the needs of today's hourly employees. Our team is comprised of dedicated individuals from all backgrounds and experiences, globally distributed across all time zones. Headquarters: Remote You're the detection engineer people turn to when they ask "what does Microsoft actually see here?" Not the marketing-slide answer, the real map. Which product emits which telemetry, any anticipated ingestion lags, what table or API it lands in, which license tier gates it, how long it survives before it ages out, and where the documentation quietly disagrees with reality. When a new technique drops, your first instinct is to ask which Microsoft signal would catch it, and whether customers have it switched on. You also know Microsoft never sits still. Hunting tables appear, columns get renamed, Graph versions retire, capability shuffles between SKUs, previews go GA, features quietly vanish, and native alert logic shifts underneath you. You've got a repeatable way of staying ahead of that churn instead of finding out when a detection stops firing. You're comfortable behind a command line and in front of a customer, including scenarios where the conversation isn't pleasant. If that's you, we'd love to talk! We have an amazing team and believe you'll love getting to know us. At Expel, we help businesses bridge the cybersecurity talent gap by providing transparent Managed Detection and Response. To do this we build technology to make sure our security analysts are solving important problems, and automation is helping them make better decisions at every step. We delight in using technology to make security accessible for our customers. What Expel can do for you Make you one of our recognized authorities on Microsoft detection and response — for our SOC, our engineers, our go-to-market teams, and our customers Give you real ownership of Expel's detection coverage across the whole Microsoft security estate Put Microsoft telemetry from across our customer base in front of you — a breadth of real-world environments no single enterprise gets to see Let you write and tune detections in our own rule engine and watch them run against live signal Treat AI tooling (Claude Code and friends) as a first-class part of how you work, not a side experiment Enable you to learn from analysts, data scientists, engineers, and responders responsible for various components of Expel's product and services Provide access to popular EDR, network, SIEM, identity, and cloud technologies well beyond the Microsoft stack Challenge you to push the boundaries of our security vision What you can do for Expel Own our detection coverage across Defender XDR, Entra ID, Sentinel, Microsoft Graph, Azure, and Microsoft 365 — from raw signal through to shipped, tuned detections Build and maintain a living map of Microsoft security signal: what exists, known ingestion lag, where it lands, what gates it, how long it's kept, and how far you can trust it Track how that signal changes and turn every material change into a concrete action — catching drift before it costs us efficacy Tell us where Microsoft's native detections are strong enough to lean on, where they're noisy or shallow, and where Expel needs its own layer Make SOC analysts faster by automating Microsoft-specific investigative workflows against the Graph, Defender, Sentinel, and Entra APIs Partner with Engineering on our Microsoft integrations — ingestion, API limits and throttling, and schema mapping Answer the hard questions from the SOC, CS, and Sales — and mentor the people asking them Help customers understand what they're actually covered for, what they're missing, and what turning it on would buy them What you should bring with you Deep, current, hands-on knowledge of the Microsoft security stack — Defender XDR (Endpoint, Identity, Office 365, Cloud Apps), Entra ID, Sentinel, Microsoft Graph, and the Azure and Microsoft 365 control and data planes Fluency in KQL: you can write, read, optimize, and debug non-trivial hunting queries across both Defender Advanced Hunting and Sentinel, and you know how and why the two schemas differ Working knowledge of the Graph and Graph Security APIs, the Defender and Sentinel APIs, and their authentication, permission, versioning, and throttling models A strong grasp of the Entra ID (and legacy Active Directory) identity attack surface — authentication flows, conditional access, OAuth application consent, token theft and replay, hybrid identity and sync, privileged role abuse — and the telemetry each produces Solid understanding of Windows internals and command line tooling, with enough macOS and Linux to keep up with Defender's cross-platform coverage Experience writing, deploying, and tuning custom detections against Microsoft data sets, plus enough non-Microsoft exposure (AWS, GCP, other EDR and SIEM) to keep perspective Proficiency with Python and Sigma, and real fluency using Anthropic tools such as Claude Code to work across systems and data (locally, via MCP, and so on) 5+ years in information technology or security operations, with substantial time spent defending or operating Microsoft environments Excellent tact and diplomacy skills — you can explain Microsoft's limits to an audience that doesn't want to hear about them SC-200, AZ-500, or SC-300 are a plus; demonstrated depth matters considerably more Work Location Our headquarters is in Herndon, Virginia. However, we realize that while there is a benefit to in-person interaction, good people don't all live in Northern Virginia. Remote work is an option for this role. Additional Notes The base salary range for this role is between $142,900 USD and $207,200 USD + bonus eligibility and equity. While the full salary band reflects our long-term compensation framework, we're primarily targeting candidates between $160,000 and $192,000 based on experience, skills, and market data. We believe in paying transparently and equitably. Your salary will ultimately be based on factors such as your experience, skills, team equity, and market data. You'll also be eligible for unlimited PTO (which we model and encourage), work location flexibility, up to 24 weeks of parental leave, and really excellent health benefits. We're only hiring those authorized to work in the United States. We do not currently sponsor immigration visas. We're an Equal Opportunity Employer: You'll receive consideration for employment without regard to race, sex, color, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, protected veteran status, or on the basis of disability. We'll ensure that individuals with disabilities are provided reasonable accommodation to participate in the job application or interview process, to perform essential job functions, and to receive other benefits and privileges of employment. The Job We're looking for an experienced Frontend Engineer to own customer-facing features from the first conversation with a care team to the feature running in production. Care workers rely on our product during every shift and care managers use it to follow up on their residents, on mobile and on the web. This isn't a ticket-taking role. Alongside that, you'll help own the quality of how we build: the tests, pipelines and guardrails that let us ship fast without breaking what care teams depend on. In this role, you will focus on: Feature Development : Own features end-to-end, from design discussions through implementation to production rollout across multiple markets and languages, on the web app, the mobile app and the APIs behind them.
