Global Controller

Customer.ioRemote (Fully Remote)3 days ago
ContractFully RemoteMid$250,000 - $250,000 / Year

Headquarters: Americas Remote About Customer.io Over 9,000 companies — from scrappy startups to global brands — use our platform to send billions of emails, push notifications, in-app messages, and SMS every day. Customer.io powers automated communication that people actually want to receive. We help teams send smarter, more relevant messages using real-time behavioral data. About the role Hi, my name is Diep N, VP, Finance at Customer.io , and I'm looking for a Global Controller to take the close, the books, and our control environment and make them theirs. We're a global, remote-first, private company built on subscription and usage-based revenue, and as we grow we need a controller who can lead the team already in place and sharpen the fundamentals. You'll lead a team of ~7, growing, across revenue accounting, close, AP/AR, payroll, and treasury, and partner closely with me and, given our CFO's broad remit, with stakeholders across Sales, Legal, IT, HR, and Engineering. What you'll do Lead monthly and quarterly close, GL, AP/AR, payroll, and account reconciliations, delivering accurate, timely US GAAP financials. Close currently runs ~10 business days; get us to 6-8 days within your first 12 months, with fewer post-close adjustments and aged reconciliations. Own revenue accounting and serve as our technical accounting authority on subscription and usage-based revenue recognition (ASC 606), including the ARR-to-GAAP bridge: reconciling ARR, billings, deferred revenue, contract assets, and usage true-ups to reported revenue, and explaining the delta to leadership and the board in plain terms. Author technical accounting position memos on contract modifications, SSP allocation, variable consideration, and capitalized contract costs, the work that makes "technical accounting authority" real. Own equity compensation accounting (ASC 718): grant accuracy, 409A timing, expense, modifications, and cap-table integrity, in partnership with stock plan administration. Manage and grow a team of ~7, with room to scale, building trust quickly and developing the leads beneath you. Build a control framework suited to a global, remote-first, private company with subscription and usage-based revenue, keeping the books audit-ready. Own our accounting systems roadmap and drive automation across close and reporting. Own select treasury operations, including cash management and banking relationships, and partner on FX exposure monitoring given our multi-currency footprint. Run our external audit relationship and coordinate with external tax partners on compliance, provisions, and filings. Manage the realities of a distributed, remote-first global team: statutory accounting coordination, payroll and contractor controls, entity reporting, and working with Legal, HR, and Tax on international compliance. What we're looking for 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leading a team through managers or leads. A Big 4 (or equivalent top-tier public accounting) foundation. Deep US GAAP mastery, particular strength in subscription and usage-based revenue recognition (ASC 606). A concrete, personally-owned automation or AI deployment in accounting with a measurable result, eliminating a manual reconciliation, reducing close time, or lowering error rate, that you can speak to in detail. Experience scaling an accounting function that was already running, not building one from zero. A proven track record with external audits and keeping books audit-ready. Strong leadership and communication skills, with credibility partnering with senior, cross-functional stakeholders. Nice to have: internal controls or SOX-readiness experience; remote-first/globally distributed company experience; M&A or deal accounting exposure; CPA license, active or inactive. Compensation & Benefits We believe in transparency. Starting salary for this role ranges from $250k to $280k USD (or equivalent in local currency), structured by geographic zone and depending on experience. In addition to base salary, this role includes an equity grant in the form of stock options, so you share in the success you help build. Our inclusive benefits package supports your well-being and growth, including 100% coverage of medical, dental, vision, mental health, and supplemental insurance premiums for you and your family. We also offer 16 weeks paid parental leave, unlimited PTO, stipends for remote work and wellness, a professional development budget, and more. See full benefits here → Our Process No gotchas, no trick questions - just a clear, human process designed to help both of us make an informed decision. 30-minute recruiter screen 45-minute hiring manager screen Two 30-minute cross-functional chats: one with a Legal partner, one with a People partner 60-minute case review call 30-minute bar raiser call with our CFO All final candidates will be asked to complete a background check and employment verifications as part of our pre-employment process. Customer.io recognizes the stifling impact of systemic injustice on diverse communities. We commit to using our influence to increase inclusion and equity within the tech industry. We strive to build an inclusive team culture, implement bias-free hiring practices, and develop community partnerships to expand our global impact. Zoom is the only video conference platform that we use, virtual interviews will be conducted using the video capability (i.e., not via the chat), and offers will be extended in writing on official Customer.io letterhead. Please be vigilant in all of your job search activity, and if you have any questions please contact jobs@customer.io . Join us! Check out our careers page for more information about why you should come work with us! We believe in empathy, transparency, responsibility, and, yes, a little awkwardness. Principal Product Manager, Agentic AI

LegionRemote (Fully Remote)3 days ago
ContractFully RemotePrincipal$280,000 - $300,000 / Year
gollmresttriagedentalmanufacturing+15

Headquarters: Remote, United States Principal Product Manager, Agentic AI REMOTE, United States JOB OVERVIEW Legion is building AI agents that carry out workforce management work, not agents that describe it. Much of what is presented as AI in workforce management today is a conversational layer over an existing scheduling screen. The more substantial problem — software that reasons over demand, labor regulation, and employee preferences, then acts, with a person in the loop wherever the stakes require one — remains unsolved across the category. Legion intends to solve it, and this role leads the product work to get there. You will take an agent surface from operational research through specification, prototype, evaluation, and enterprise deployment, working hands-on throughout. You will work closely with Legion's AI Lab engineers and with our CEO, who is engaged in this work daily. RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES Agent definition. Determine what an agent is responsible for, which tools it may call, what it must escalate, what it must never do, and what a manager sees when it acts. These decisions affect employee pay and legal compliance. Much of this work is pre-launch, so you will shape the direction rather than inherit it. Problem selection. The hardest judgment in agentic product work is identifying which workflows suit an agent and which do not. You will spend substantial time inside customer operations — district managers, store managers, labor operations, frontline employees — and return with a ranked, defensible view of where an agent creates measurable value and where it does not. The human-in-the-loop contract. Scheduling decisions affect income, childcare arrangements, and legal protections. For each agent action you will define where autonomy is appropriate, the escalation thresholds, how a manager overrides the system, what is logged, and how a compliance team audits the outcome. Legion treats this as a first-class design problem. Build quality. You are accountable for what ships, not for what was specified. That means staying engaged through implementation: reviewing the build against the specification as it comes together, using the product yourself before anyone else is asked to, joining bug triage and design review, catching drift from intent while it is still cheap to correct, and holding a release when the quality is not there. Our customers experience the build, not the document. A well-written specification that produced a product managers do not trust is failed product work, and we assess it that way. Evaluation. Build and maintain the evaluation sets that determine whether an agent is ready to ship and whether it is degrading in production — writing the cases, reviewing failure traces, setting the pass criteria. You will be the person who holds a release when the demonstration is persuasive and the evaluation is not. Specifications. Legion uses Functional Requirements Documents as its ground-truth specification layer; release notes, enablement material, and sales content are generated from maintained specifications rather than reconstructed from code or institutional memory. Write FRDs that meet that standard and keep them accurate after release. A specification is where the work begins, not where your responsibility ends. Commercialization. Partner with go-to-market on packaging, metering, pricing inputs, and field readiness. Agentic products raise difficult commercial questions — what unit to meter, what a customer is paying for when software performs work a person previously did — and you will be expected to hold a considered position on them. Design-partner delivery. Lead agent deployments with large enterprise design partners: scoping the pilot, establishing success criteria before it begins, joining failure reviews, and determining what becomes generally available and what remains bespoke. TECHNICAL EXPECTATIONS Legion is looking for a product manager who builds, rather than one who directs others who build. In a typical week, this role involves: Writing and iterating on prompts and system prompts directly, and explaining why a change improved a behavior Standing up a working prototype of a proposed agent — tool definitions, structured outputs, retries, guardrails — before engineering is asked to build anything Using agentic coding tools (Claude Code or equivalent) daily: prototyping, data analysis, specification work, and reading the codebase behind your specifications Reviewing an execution trace and diagnosing whether a failure originates in a tool description, a retrieval gap, a context-window constraint, an under-specified output schema, or a genuine model limitation Building and running evaluation sets, and interpreting the results without a data scientist to translate them Holding an informed position on retrieval design, tool-use patterns, structured output, model routing, latency and cost trade-offs, and multi-tenant safety in enterprise SaaS Opening pull requests against our codebase — a prototype, a prompt change, an evaluation fixture, a specification stub. Pushing code is permitted and actively encouraged for product managers who want to work that way. It is not a requirement of the role, and the same review standards apply to everyone. Following model releases, agent frameworks, and protocol changes, and translating them into roadmap implications within days rather than quarters We recognize that this is a demanding technical bar for a product role. It reflects what the work actually requires. REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS 7+ years in product management (Senior) or 10+ years (Principal), including at least 2 years shipping LLM-backed features to external, paying users — not internal tools, proofs of concept, or hackathon projects Demonstrated hands-on capability of the kind described above. Expect to show your work. Substantial enterprise B2B SaaS experience: multi-tenant architecture, role-based access control, audit trails, single sign-on, data residency, security review, and enterprise procurement. You should be able to anticipate what a customer's security questionnaire will ask about an LLM feature. A record of taking an ambiguous, operationally complex domain problem through to a shipped product with demonstrated adoption — not only launch Evidence of staying with a product through implementation and owning its quality at release. We will ask about a release you delayed or stopped, what you found, and how you found it. The judgment to recognize what current models cannot do reliably, and the willingness to say so when a room expects a different answer Comfort working inside a codebase. An engineering background is not required, but you should be able to read the code behind what you are specifying, run it locally, and open a pull request. Strong written communication. Legion runs on documents, and candidates are evaluated substantially on how they write. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND ATTRIBUTES Direct experience in workforce management, HCM, ERP, supply chain, or another operationally complex enterprise domain with compliance exposure Familiarity with labor compliance regimes — predictive scheduling ordinances, meal and rest break rules, union work rules — or demonstrated ability to become fluent in a comparable regulatory domain quickly Background in demand forecasting, optimization, or decision systems Experience building platform or authoring surfaces that customers configure themselves An engineering or technical degree, or prior experience as an engineer or data scientist Experience with products sold into frontline-heavy industries: retail, hospitality, healthcare, or manufacturing SCOPE OF ROLE, STATED PLAINLY So that candidates can assess fit early: This is an individual contributor role. There is no team to inherit and no management responsibility at present. The role is accountable for what ships, not for what is specified. Writing the specification is a portion of the work, not the whole of it. This is not an AI strategy or vendor-evaluation role. The work is product definition, prototyping, specification, evaluation, and delivery. The role requires forming an independent point of view from operational research. Direction will not be handed down in detail. The environment carries genuine ambiguity. The category is being defined as we work in it, and model capabilities shift underneath the roadmap. SELECTION PROCESS Our process includes a practical exercise: a sanitized workforce management problem, for which candidates produce an agent design — scope, tools, failure modes, human-in-the-loop contract, and evaluation plan — together with a working prototype they built themselves, using any model provider they prefer. The exercise is then discussed with the people the candidate would work alongside. We weigh it heavily, and we compensate candidates for the time. COMPENSATION & BENEFITS Salary Range: $280,000-$300,000 +bonus (tied to business outcomes) +Stock Equity At Legion, we offer competitive compensation and benefits packages to all employees. Join us in making hourly work rewarding and fulfilling. BACKGROUND AND OPPORTUNITY There are almost 75 million hourly workers in the United States, representing more than half of the entire workforce. Historically, managing hourly employees has been difficult due to high attrition (average of 60%) and high replacement costs (average of $3,200 per employee in retail). The ongoing labor shortage and competition from the gig economy make it more difficult to attract and retain hourly employees. The top reasons hourly employees leave their jobs are a lack of schedule empowerment, poor communication with employers, and an inability to get paid early. Gen Z and the millennial workforce demand gig-like flexibility, modern technology, and compelling work options. Legion's mission is to turn hourly jobs into good jobs, serving the hourly workers who make up the majority of the US workforce. We believe in empowering employees and helping employers be efficient and innovative by enabling intelligent automation powered by Legion's Workforce Management platform to optimize labor efficiency and enhance the employee experience simultaneously. Legion WFM was built for the cloud with AI at the core and designed to handle the complexity of modern businesses and meet the needs of today's hourly employees. Our team is comprised of dedicated individuals from all backgrounds and experiences, globally distributed across all time zones. Senior Detection & Response Engineer

Senior Detection & Response Engineer

ExpelRemote (Fully Remote)3 days ago
InternshipFully RemoteSenior$142,900 - $207,200 / Year
pythongoawsazuregcpoauth+7

Headquarters: Remote You're the detection engineer people turn to when they ask "what does Microsoft actually see here?" Not the marketing-slide answer, the real map. Which product emits which telemetry, any anticipated ingestion lags, what table or API it lands in, which license tier gates it, how long it survives before it ages out, and where the documentation quietly disagrees with reality. When a new technique drops, your first instinct is to ask which Microsoft signal would catch it, and whether customers have it switched on. You also know Microsoft never sits still. Hunting tables appear, columns get renamed, Graph versions retire, capability shuffles between SKUs, previews go GA, features quietly vanish, and native alert logic shifts underneath you. You've got a repeatable way of staying ahead of that churn instead of finding out when a detection stops firing. You're comfortable behind a command line and in front of a customer, including scenarios where the conversation isn't pleasant. If that's you, we'd love to talk! We have an amazing team and believe you'll love getting to know us. At Expel, we help businesses bridge the cybersecurity talent gap by providing transparent Managed Detection and Response. To do this we build technology to make sure our security analysts are solving important problems, and automation is helping them make better decisions at every step. We delight in using technology to make security accessible for our customers. What Expel can do for you Make you one of our recognized authorities on Microsoft detection and response — for our SOC, our engineers, our go-to-market teams, and our customers Give you real ownership of Expel's detection coverage across the whole Microsoft security estate Put Microsoft telemetry from across our customer base in front of you — a breadth of real-world environments no single enterprise gets to see Let you write and tune detections in our own rule engine and watch them run against live signal Treat AI tooling (Claude Code and friends) as a first-class part of how you work, not a side experiment Enable you to learn from analysts, data scientists, engineers, and responders responsible for various components of Expel's product and services Provide access to popular EDR, network, SIEM, identity, and cloud technologies well beyond the Microsoft stack Challenge you to push the boundaries of our security vision What you can do for Expel Own our detection coverage across Defender XDR, Entra ID, Sentinel, Microsoft Graph, Azure, and Microsoft 365 — from raw signal through to shipped, tuned detections Build and maintain a living map of Microsoft security signal: what exists, known ingestion lag, where it lands, what gates it, how long it's kept, and how far you can trust it Track how that signal changes and turn every material change into a concrete action — catching drift before it costs us efficacy Tell us where Microsoft's native detections are strong enough to lean on, where they're noisy or shallow, and where Expel needs its own layer Make SOC analysts faster by automating Microsoft-specific investigative workflows against the Graph, Defender, Sentinel, and Entra APIs Partner with Engineering on our Microsoft integrations — ingestion, API limits and throttling, and schema mapping Answer the hard questions from the SOC, CS, and Sales — and mentor the people asking them Help customers understand what they're actually covered for, what they're missing, and what turning it on would buy them What you should bring with you Deep, current, hands-on knowledge of the Microsoft security stack — Defender XDR (Endpoint, Identity, Office 365, Cloud Apps), Entra ID, Sentinel, Microsoft Graph, and the Azure and Microsoft 365 control and data planes Fluency in KQL: you can write, read, optimize, and debug non-trivial hunting queries across both Defender Advanced Hunting and Sentinel, and you know how and why the two schemas differ Working knowledge of the Graph and Graph Security APIs, the Defender and Sentinel APIs, and their authentication, permission, versioning, and throttling models A strong grasp of the Entra ID (and legacy Active Directory) identity attack surface — authentication flows, conditional access, OAuth application consent, token theft and replay, hybrid identity and sync, privileged role abuse — and the telemetry each produces Solid understanding of Windows internals and command line tooling, with enough macOS and Linux to keep up with Defender's cross-platform coverage Experience writing, deploying, and tuning custom detections against Microsoft data sets, plus enough non-Microsoft exposure (AWS, GCP, other EDR and SIEM) to keep perspective Proficiency with Python and Sigma, and real fluency using Anthropic tools such as Claude Code to work across systems and data (locally, via MCP, and so on) 5+ years in information technology or security operations, with substantial time spent defending or operating Microsoft environments Excellent tact and diplomacy skills — you can explain Microsoft's limits to an audience that doesn't want to hear about them SC-200, AZ-500, or SC-300 are a plus; demonstrated depth matters considerably more Work Location Our headquarters is in Herndon, Virginia. However, we realize that while there is a benefit to in-person interaction, good people don't all live in Northern Virginia. Remote work is an option for this role. Additional Notes The base salary range for this role is between $142,900 USD and $207,200 USD + bonus eligibility and equity. While the full salary band reflects our long-term compensation framework, we're primarily targeting candidates between $160,000 and $192,000 based on experience, skills, and market data. We believe in paying transparently and equitably. Your salary will ultimately be based on factors such as your experience, skills, team equity, and market data. You'll also be eligible for unlimited PTO (which we model and encourage), work location flexibility, up to 24 weeks of parental leave, and really excellent health benefits. We're only hiring those authorized to work in the United States. We do not currently sponsor immigration visas. We're an Equal Opportunity Employer: You'll receive consideration for employment without regard to race, sex, color, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, protected veteran status, or on the basis of disability. We'll ensure that individuals with disabilities are provided reasonable accommodation to participate in the job application or interview process, to perform essential job functions, and to receive other benefits and privileges of employment. Please let us know if you need accommodation of any kind. #LI-Remote Salary Range $142,900 — $207,200 USD To apply: https://weworkremotely.com/remote-jobs/expel-senior-detection-response-engineer

The Job We're looking for an experienced Frontend Engineer to own customer-facing features from the first conversation with a care team to the feature running in production. Care workers rely on our product during every shift and care managers use it to follow up on their residents, on mobile and on the web. This isn't a ticket-taking role. You'll talk to users, cut scope, build the features, and check afterwards whether what you shipped actually made a shift easier. Alongside that, you'll help own the quality of how we build: the tests, pipelines and guardrails that let us ship fast without breaking what care teams depend on. In this role, you will focus on: Feature Development : Own features end-to-end, from design discussions through implementation to production rollout across multiple markets and languages, on the web app, the mobile app and the APIs behind them. Customer Insight : Talk to care staff and our customer success team every week, visit care facilities, and turn what you hear into clearly scoped product changes. Improve our CI/CD pipelines and automated tests, keep the infrastructure scalable, and build the guardrails that let AI coding agents contribute safely. Backend & APIs : Work with the APIs, data models and services your features need. You will not just consume APIs, you will help shape, improve and fix the systems behind them. Use staged rollouts so new features never get in the way of the alerts care teams depend on. Qualifications Several years of experience building production web applications. Strong TypeScript skills : this is the language for everything we build. Solid production experience with React on the web and/or React Native. Experience with CI/CD and automated testing, and a strong sense of what good code quality looks like. Great product taste and a keen eye for UX. You work well with designers and can make sensible design decisions yourself when needed. Comfortable talking directly with non-technical users and turning messy feedback into concrete decisions. Previous startup experience and/or shipping a product where you owned the outcome, from idea to adoption.X Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work both independently and in a team. Nice to Have Experience with React Native and Expo in production. Experience working with AI coding agents in a real codebase. AWS or equivalent cloud platform experience. Familiarity with TanStack, real-time systems or push notifications. Experience with health data or other regulated, privacy-sensitive domains (e.g. GDPR). About Us At Teton, we are redefining the role of healthcare workers through cutting-edge AI technology. Facing a global nursing shortage, our solutions offer vital support to overburdened health systems. With thousands of patient rooms across 4 countries already benefiting from our technology, we are aiming to expand to much more. We distinguish ourselves by focusing relentlessly on product excellence and user experience, rapidly deploying solutions that make a real difference. The Job Every patient room we deploy into puts another device on infrastructure we don't control, in a building we can't easily visit, running software that has to keep working. We're looking for an Engineer to own that problem: the systems, tooling, and infrastructure that let us ship to thousands of edge devices confidently and understand what they're doing once they're out there. In this role, you will focus on the following areas of interest: Fleet Management: Build and run the systems that provision, monitor, and manage our devices in the field, from first boot in a hospital room to end of life. OTA & Release Engineering: Own how software gets onto devices: staged rollouts, health checks, automatic rollback, and the confidence that a bad release won't take down a ward. Observability: Design the telemetry, logging, and alerting that tell us a device is degrading before a nurse notices. Make remote debugging possible so we don't fly to fix things. Device Bring-Up & Debugging: Work with our hardware and firmware teams on new hardware revisions, reproduce field issues on the bench, and get to the bottom of problems that span kernel, driver, network, and application. Infrastructure & Tooling: Build the CI/CD, image builds, and internal tools that let the whole engineering team ship to hardware quickly and safely. Documentation: Maintain clear and detailed documentation of your work to ensure easy collaboration and knowledge sharing within the team. Qualifications: Solid experience running Linux systems in production: ideally embedded or edge Linux, not just cloud VMs. Proficiency in Rust and/or Javascript/Typescript and/or Python Experience with device fleets at scale: provisioning, OTA update mechanisms (Mender, RAUC, balena, or something you built yourself), and remote access to constrained devices. Familiarity with Linux internals: systemd, kernel modules, device tree, networking stack, containers. Experience with observability tooling (Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, or similar) and designing what to measure, not just wiring up dashboards. Comfortable with hardware debugging: serial consoles, working alongside hardware engineers Understanding of communication protocols and how devices talk to each other and to us: I2C, SPI, UART, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, MQTT. Pragmatism about networks you don't control: restrictive hospital IT, VLANs, proxies, flaky Wi-Fi, and long offline periods. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Experience with the NVIDIA Jetson platform and Linux for Tegra is a big plus. Experience with Yocto, Debian packaging, or custom image builds is a plus. Experience in the medical device or healthcare technology field is a plus. What We Offer Participation in our warrant program (stock options). Work with state-of-the-art technology in a pioneering field. A vibrant, learning-focused work environment. A role where you can make a significant impact on healthcare delivery. Join Our Team We're looking for individuals who share our vision and value ownership and entrepreneurship over a conventional job. iwocaLondon, Germany3 days ago

Software Engineer - Customer Operations Platform Hybrid in London, UK We're looking for a software engineer iwoca's operational tools and processes are a competitive advantage, allowing us to give great customer service, manage risk, and get money into our customers' hands as quickly as possible. You'll join our growing Customer Operations Platform team to help improve the systems that power these processes, building tailored flows for our Operations teams, automating processes using AI, using ML models to make smarter decisions, and improving the reliability of our communication services. You'll work closely with our Operations teams, getting user feedback and input on requirements from users working in the same building, and seeing the impact of your changes on the people you work with. The company Small businesses move fast. Opportunities often don't wait, and cash flow pressures can appear overnight. To keep going, and growing, SMEs need finance that's as flexible and responsive as they are. That's why we built iwoca. Our smart technology, data science and five-star customer service ensures business owners can act with the speed, confidence and control they need, exactly when it's needed. We've already cleared the way for 100,000 businesses with more than £4 billion in funding. Our passionate team is driven to help even more SMEs succeed, through access to better finance and other services that make running a business easier. Our ultimate mission is to support one million SMEs in their defining moments, creating lasting impact for the communities and economies they drive. The role As an engineer you'd take whole projects end to end, work out what' s actually needed, design it, build it and look after it in production. Responsibility and Autonomy: Take on complex projects that span many systems and many stakeholders — e.g. CRM, telephony, contact, and task management Build a strong understanding of the business context: how our ops teams actually work, how the processes you're automating are supposed to run, and what the people relying on your systems need from them. Do the detailed technical scoping and prototyping that tells us whether an idea is feasible before it reaches the roadmap. Delivery and Collaboration Take on complex coding and architecture problems with a high level of ambiguity and technical complexity. Write fluent technical documents and developer tickets distilling product requirements into clear and actionable technical work. Build relationships with key stakeholders including Operations Strategy, Credit Analysts, Account Managers, and Collections teams. Learning and Growth: Embody our growth mindset mentality by sharing new technologies and best practices within the team as well as more broadly across the company. The projects Here are some of the most recent problems we are solving: iwocaChat. Operations staff spend a large share of their day assembling context from multiple systems before they can help a customer. iwocaChat uses Claude to answer those questions directly, so staff spend their time on the customer rather than the lookup. Migrating the monolith. We are incrementally moving business logic out of our Django monolith into smaller, independently deployable services. Because it cuts across every domain, you'd be shaping service boundaries and ownership models that stick around long after the monolith is gone. Inbox messaging reworking. We are replacing our third party email inbox application with an inhouse solution, utilising AI to enable operations staff to automate the actions of our most frequent customer service enquiries. The requirements Essential: Experience developing and owning shared back end services that other engineering teams contribute to and depend on - being the trusted reviewer for their contributions and shaping how they build on top of your work. Familiarity with front-end technologies (React, TypeScript) and browser debugging. Experience building and shaping distributed systems in complex business domains. Ability to translate complex operational needs into technical architecture. Strong capability using AI tools to automate routine tasks and research, enabling greater focus on complex system architecture and critical technical decision-making. Bonus: Commercial experience with Python frameworks like Django. Experience with complex data architectures, including event-sourced data models. The salary We expect to pay from £70,000 - £90,000 for this role. But, we're open-minded, so definitely include your salary goals with your application. We routinely benchmark salaries against market rates, and run quarterly performance and salary reviews. The culture At iwoca, the best idea wins. We model our culture on independent thinking, challenging untested logic, and evidence-based decisions. We prioritise learning and growth, and give people the autonomy to develop in the direction that makes them most effective. We're a tech company and believe in the power of AI to help us work faster and better. We provide the infrastructure where every iwocan always has access to the best models and where those models have access to all of our data. We will help our people to learn how to use and grow with the new tools available to them. The offices We put a lot of effort into making iwoca a brilliant place to work: Offices in London, Leeds, Frankfurt, and Berlin with plenty of drinks and snacks. Events and clubs, like bingo, comedy nights, yoga classes, football, etc. The benefits Flexible working. Medical insurance from Vitality, including discounted gym membership. A private GP service (separate from Vitality) for you, your partner, and your dependents. 25 days' holiday, an extra day off for your birthday, the option to buy or sell an additional five days of annual leave, and unlimited unpaid leave. A one-month, fully paid sabbatical after four years. Instant access to external counselling and therapy sessions for team members that need emotional or mental health support. 3% pension contributions on total earnings. An employee equity incentive scheme. Generous parental leave and a nursery tax benefit scheme to help you save money. Electric car scheme and cycle to work scheme. Two company retreats a year, we've been to France, Italy, Spain, and further afield. And to make sure we all keep learning, we offer: A learning and development budget for everyone. Company-wide talks with internal and external speakers. Access to learning platforms like Treehouse. Useful links: See iwoca benefits & policies for detail and some additional benefits.
