About CuspAI CuspAI is the frontier AI company on a mission to solve the breakthrough materials needed to power human progress. While nature took billions of years to perfect molecules, we are harnessing AI to unlock trillion-dollar materials breakthroughs in months, not millennia. Our founding team is the most cited in the world, comprised of world-class researchers in AI, chemistry and engineering. We are working on some of the hardest and most important challenges including energy, clean water, the future of compute, and carbon capture, and this is just the start of what our 'search engine' for next-generation materials will unlock. We invite you to be part of a diverse, innovative team at the intersection of AI and materials science, working to create impactful partnerships that drive innovation, scalability, and industry collaboration. This work matters. Your work matters. We're on the cusp of the on-demand materials era. Join us. The Role To scale our scientific intelligence and data curation capabilities, we are looking for three Research Engineers * to train and evaluate the foundation models behind our materials discovery platform: representation learning over crystal structures and properties, LLM fine-tuning and post-training for scientific tasks, and the evaluation and data work that makes those models useful. You will work in a small team where each person owns a model end to end, from data and experiment design through training at scale to integration. *Note that you would be joining as a 'Member of Technical Staff', but the job title above hopefully helps to explain the nature of this role. Your Impact You will be responsible for building and training specialised foundation models on terabytes of scientific data at massive scale , fundamentally enhancing our platform's multi-modal capabilities . The modalities span crystal structures, properties, text and images. Depending on your background you may lead on self-supervised representation learning, LLM fine-tuning and post-training (SFT, RL), or the evaluation suites that decide between them. What You Will Do Research and Model Training at Scale Design and run experiments : scaling studies, ablations and evaluations that settle which modelling choices survive. Lead efforts in parallel training of multi-modal foundation models at scale (e.g. orchestrating parallel training across hundreds of GPUs and handling data in the order of Terabytes). Apply strong software engineering best practices to ensure the systems are scalable, reliable, and maintainable. Own the data curation and evaluation design for your models; these outlast the modelling decisions. Scientific Collaboration & Integration Partner closely with our Chemists and Materials Scientists to integrate computational and experimental workflows into one seamless optimisation loop. Be proactive in learning the technical vocabulary of materials science and experimental chemistry to facilitate meaningful interactions with domain experts. Contribute to our mission by ensuring all system designs align with CuspAI's commitment to sustainability and world-changing challenges. Must Have Skills and Qualifications: You are someone who gets excited about the opportunity to enable scientists to work on world changing challenges in this domain, with a personal interest in the potential applications of the technology that CuspAI is building. Strong software engineering skills and a proven track record of building complex, high-performance systems at scale in a production or industrial environment. Hands-on experience training or evaluating large models in a distributed setting. For senior candidates this means having led a multi-hundred-GPU training effort; for earlier-career candidates, having been a core contributor to one. Depth in at least one of: large-scale vision or representation learning, LLM pre-training or post-training, reinforcement learning. We care more about one substantial, scale-y project than about breadth. A deep interest in the connection between AI and materials science or chemistry, and a willingness to rapidly learn the scientific vocabulary of the discipline. Master's or PhD in CS, ML or a related quantitative field, or equivalent experience. We are hiring across levels: from strong early-career research engineers (typically 1 to 3 years at a frontier lab or equivalent) to senior and staff engineers who have led model programmes. Experience with representation learning and computer vision, e.g. self-supervised or contrastive pre-training, learning embeddings, or building models that pull structured information out of images such as figures, plots and diagrams. Bonus Points (But Not Critical): RL for post-training (RLHF, GRPO-style methods) or RL in agentic settings. Experience at a frontier lab or a team that ships models at scale. Prior experience applying machine learning models specifically to problems in materials science, chemistry, or molecular informatics. Exposure to multi-modal training (e.g. text, vision, etc.) and how to combine modalities in a meaningful way. Additional Considerations This role could be based in our Cambridge, London, Amsterdam or Berlin offices , with the expectation of being in the office three days per week . Additionally, there may be regular travel required to our other offices for collaboration and project oversight. What We Offer A competitive salary: We value and reward impact and growth Equity in CuspAI: You have a stake in the success of the company Time off to stay fresh: 28 days holiday (DE, NL, UK) or 21 days holiday (JP, SG, US), in addition to local public holidays 'Gold Standard' parental leave: 26 weeks (primary caregiver) and 12 weeks (secondary caregiver) at full pay - we look after you and your family while we work on the most important materials discovery problems together Professional development budget: We invest in your career development so you can stay up to date with the latest industry knowledge or add to your skills to increase impact and growth Solve meaningful problems: See how your work has a direct impact on advancing materials science and solving sustainability and climate-related problems through the creation and application of bleeding-edge SOTA technology and revolutionary techniques True interdisciplinary teamwork: Be part of a deeply collaborative environment bridging AI research, computational chemistry, and experimental science - work with world-class researchers and engineers who enjoy sharing knowledge and supporting each other Join us in shaping the future of materials with AI. We do not discriminate on the basis of sex, race, religion or belief, ethnic or national origin, disability, age, citizenship, marital, domestic or civil partnership status, sexual orientation, gender identity, pregnancy or related condition (including breastfeeding), veteran status, or any other basis protected by applicable law. We actively encourage applications from all backgrounds and value the unique perspectives and contributions that diversity brings to our team. Please let us know if you require any specific adjustments during or after the interview process. We will do everything we can within reason to accommodate. Principal Engineer, AI Cloud Software

FirmusSydney, Australia21 hours ago

Firmus Technologies Firmus Technologies is a global leader pioneering the development and operation of efficient AI infrastructure across Asia Pacific. Founded in Australia in 2019, our mission is to create the most efficient AI infrastructure by combining cutting-edge technology with a steadfast commitment to sustainability. At Firmus, we are unique in our approach. We design, build, and operate a new class of digital infrastructure – the AI Factory. Through our model-to-grid technology approach, we have pushed the boundaries of multi-generational liquid cooling systems, energy management, AI software orchestration, and construction. For our customers, this approach allows us to make every watt count and deliver low-cost AI tokens globally. Firmus AI Cloud Our large-scale GPU cloud platform, Firmus AI Cloud, is purpose-built to deliver energy-efficient AI compute at scale to customers. It empowers developers, enterprises, educational institutions, and government users to train and deploy AI models with unmatched efficiency and cost savings. With an ever-growing suite of services and applications, we are committed to delivering a cloud experience that is market-leading, proprietary, and built to scale. ROLE SUMMARY Firmus Technologies is seeking a Principal Engineer, AI Cloud Software to own the Firmus AI Cloud API and the control plane behind it. Customers, partner platforms, and AI agents use our API to provision and run GPU compute, and our console, SDKs, CLI, and Terraform provider are all built on it. You will set the technical direction for all of it. Everything you design must work across sites and scale to hundreds of thousands of GPUs in gigawatt-scale AI factories. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Architecture and decisions Own the overall design of the public API: the resource model, contracts, versioning, and the compatibility promise customers and partner platforms build against. Set one contract style, one identity model, and one versioning policy that every domain team follows. Own the software architecture behind it: service boundaries and the control-plane model. Set a target architecture two to three years ahead and plan the steps from today's system to it. Design the control plane to keep each region serving when another fails, protect it under load with per-tenant rate limits and fair queuing, and remove the limits that would block growth in tenants, resource types, sites, and request volume. Lead design reviews for significant changes across the teams, sign off architecture decision records, and settle technical disputes escalated by engineers. Decide at pace with incomplete information, write down the assumptions, and revisit a decision when the evidence changes. Build and evolve Write production code for the hardest parts of the API and the control plane. Expose the full lifecycle of compute, virtual networking, storage, and Kubernetes resources through the API, on top of the infrastructure, network and storage controllers' other teams own. Give every resource a stable identifier, track multi-step requests to completion, and offer break-fix actions such as reboot, reset, and maintenance notices. Build identity and tenancy into the API: organisations and projects, federated sign-on with MFA, automated user provisioning, group-based roles, and service accounts. Give customers, partner platforms, Firmus operations teams, and AI agents acting for a customer safe access through the same API, with scoped credentials, approval for destructive actions, and a full audit trail. Keep the console, SDKs, CLI, and Terraform provider consistent with the API, built from a single contract. Ship each capability as a supported feature, not a one-off for a single customer. Reliability, security, and cost Set SLOs and error budgets for the API and control plane and use the budget to decide when reliability work comes first. Lead the technical response to major incidents in the API and control plane and make sure every post-mortem ends with a fix that stops it happening again. Design usage records accurate enough to bill from and for customers to verify, with quotas and audit logs that customers can query through the API and export. Design every service to survive rolling node replacement without customer impact, and keep dependencies and images patched within policy. Keep Firmus' SOC 2 Type 2 and ISO 27001 controls passing at every new site. Own cost at the design level and raise any design change that alters what customers consume. Technical leadership Grow engineers through mentorship, design review, and code review. Hiring and performance review sit with the Engineering Manager. Set the software engineering standards other teams build to, covering API design, testing, code review, and service templates. Each team's principal still owns the architecture of their domain. Set how the team uses AI to build software effectively and securely, with review gates and automated architecture checks that keep AI-generated code within the agreed design. Own the technical interviews and assessments for software engineers and hold every candidate to that bar. Partnership and communication Shape the technical roadmap with product and deliver API and architecture work ahead of the features that depend on it. Agree ownership in writing at each boundary with platform, data, observability, security, compute, storage and network teams, and settle disagreements directly. Represent your team in customer and partner briefings on AI cloud software design, tenancy, reliability, or a contract change, and bring what you learn back to product. SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience. 10+ years in software engineering, including at least 3 years at principal level or equivalent, setting the technical direction that multiple teams delivered against. You are still hands-on and intend to stay that way. Has designed and evolved a public API that external customers built against: the resource model and lifecycles, OpenAPI or gRPC contracts, versioning, and backward compatibility, with at least one SDK, CLI, or Terraform provider kept in step. Has run a multi-tenant control plane across more than one region or data centre, serving thousands of tenants or millions of API requests a day, with failure isolated per region. Has built identity and security into customer-facing software: federated sign-on (OIDC or SAML), user provisioning (such as SCIM), role-based access, tenant isolation, secrets handling, and dependency patching, under SOC 2 Type 2, ISO 27001, or an equivalent control set. Strong distributed-systems fundamentals: consistency, idempotency, retries and backpressure, long-running workflows, and the failure modes of a control plane under heavy load. Production Kubernetes experience beyond deploying to it, including control-plane services built on the Kubernetes API with custom resources and controllers. Strong in Go or Python, with infrastructure as code and CI/CD as part of daily work. Has run a reliability programme other engineers followed: SLOs and error budgets, change control, and incident reviews that changed the system. Clear written and verbal communication in English, able to explain problems, decisions, and trade-offs to engineers, executives, and customers. Willing to join the on-call rotation for the services you own and to travel overseas occasionally. Bonus Points Background at an AI cloud or high-performance compute provider. Exposed virtual networking (such as VPCs, security groups, and private DNS) or GPU nodes lifecycle through a customer-facing API. Built usage metering, quotas, or billing for a multi-tenant control plane. Built hosted or virtual Kubernetes control planes, or tenant isolation for a managed Kubernetes product. Built customer-facing web applications (React or similar), with enough depth to keep the console consistent with the API. Built agent-facing tooling, such as agent-callable APIs, CLIs, or MCP servers, with safety and governance controls. Led a team's use of AI-assisted and agentic engineering, measured by delivery outcomes and token cost, and kept it secure with sandboxed agents, least-privilege access, and review gates. Certifications such as CKAD or CKA, or AWS Solutions Architect Professional. LOCATION Singapore or Australia Find more English Speaking Jobs in United Kingdom on Arbeitnow

Forward Deployed Engineer (f/m/d)
Full TimeOn-siteMid
godockerlinuxclinicalproject managementscheduling+4

About Valova We are building the AI operations platform for European hospitals, so every clinician can focus on patients. Behind every patient sits a chain of admin work: documentation, coding, billing, audits, scheduling. It runs through disconnected systems and endless manual hand-offs , while most German hospitals already operate at a loss . We start where the impact is measurable from day one: case to cash . Valova codes every case, defends it in audits and makes sure the money lands. From there we take on every workflow that runs a hospital , until one agentic system handles the routine and people decide the exceptions. First Germany, then Europe. Doctors, engineers and operators, on-site in Munich and Berlin . Join us! Why this role matters Valova only works as well as it fits into the hospital. Our product creates the most value when it's deeply connected to a hospital's systems and built around how coders and medical controlling actually work. Today, connecting to a hospital information system can take months. That's time hospitals keep losing revenue and coders keep working by hand. That's where you come in. As Forward Deployed Engineer, you own technical go-lives from start to finish : from the first sandbox to production, from the interface to the workflow on the ward. You're the bridge between hospital IT, the people who use Valova and our engineering team . Your impact is easy to see: in hospitals that go live faster, in integrations that run reliably, and in a product that gets better with every deployment because you bring back what you learn. This is a hands-on engineering role with real code in production and direct influence on our roadmap. It's not a support desk, not a pre-sales role and not project management where others do the building. And it's not a desk job: you'll regularly be on site in hospitals How the role sits in the team You report directly to Christian, our CTO, and work day to day with our engineering team on connectors, deployments and internal tooling. With Malte and our product team, you turn what you see in hospitals into clear requirements. In hospital projects, you work hand in hand with our customer success and sales team and on the hospital side with IT leads, KIS vendors, coders and medical controlling. What you will do Bring hospitals live: You take hospitals from sandbox to production, deploy Valova on hospital VMs and connect it to KIS systems such as SAP i.s.h.med, Orbis or Dedalus. Build the connections: You build and maintain interfaces (HL7, FHIR, archive and document exports) together with hospital IT and their partners. Set up Valova for each customer: You configure document types, case filtering, department rules and coding workflows. Learn from the ward: You work on site with coders and medical controlling and turn their friction into clear product requirements. Make deployments repeatable: You write the code that makes the next go-live faster: connectors, scripts, monitoring and internal tooling. Earn the hospital's trust: You answer technical questions in security and data protection reviews (BSI C5, GDPR). What we are looking for: Engineering experience: At least two years in software engineering, and you're comfortable with Linux, Docker and basic networking. Integration know-how: You've worked on system integrations. Experience with HL7/FHIR or SAP environments is a big plus. Customer focus: You enjoy working with customers and explain technical topics clearly to IT leads and coders alike. High ownership: You move things forward, even when three parties are involved. Travel: You're happy to spend around 30 percent of your time at hospitals across Germany. Languages: You speak fluent German and English, since our customers work in German. Location: You work from our office in Munich or Berlin. Missing one or two points, but convinced you're the right person for this role? Apply anyway. We're looking forward to meeting you! What you get Work that means something, every day. Your agents are the core of our product and directly help improve the German healthcare system. Ownership from week one. You take over real projects with a clear outcome and your name on it, not a list of tasks someone else defined. Direct access to the founders. You work day to day with our founders Sophia, a physician and ex-McKinsey consultant, and Christian, who has founded two health tech startups and spent a decade building clinical systems. No layers, no waiting weeks for approvals. Trust and freedom. We trust you to solve problems your way, and the team has your back 100%. Learning at startup speed. You will see more in one year here than in three years elsewhere, across models, infrastructure, product and customers, with a team that has a proven track record of deploying AI in healthcare. One team, in the heart of the city. We work together on-site at WeWork Odeonsplatz in Munich and WeWork in central Berlin. Fully serviced offices with coffee, meeting rooms and phone booths mean zero admin, and the city-center location means short commutes, easy access to customers and investors, and lunch spots around every corner. Team events that bring Munich and Berlin together, because the people you build with should also be the people you celebrate with. What success looks like After 3 months, you know Valova's stack inside out and have taken a hospital through its first technical setup together with our team. After 6 months, you've taken at least two hospitals live, and a new KIS connection takes weeks instead of months. After 12 months, our deployments are largely repeatable: connectors, scripts and monitoring you built make every go-live faster. Throughout, what you learn in hospitals shapes our roadmap, and hospital IT teams see you as their trusted contact at Valova. How it works Just upload your CV with your application. We'll get in touch with you for the next steps: Intro call (30 min): We get to know each other, talk about your background and answer your first questions. Technical interview with Christian (CTO) (60 min): We dive into your engineering experience and the integrations you've built. Case: You work through a realistic hospital integration scenario and present it to the team. References: We speak with two or three people you've worked with, such as former managers or colleagues. Meet the team: You spend a day with us on-site in Munich or Berlin, meet our founders Sophia and Christian and see how we work day to day. Offer: If it's a match for both sides, you'll hear from us quickly. We look forward to your application, regardless of gender, background, religion, disability, age or sexual identity. Welcome to Planet. We believe in using space to help life on Earth. Planet designs, builds, and operates the largest constellation of imaging satellites in history. This constellation delivers an unprecedented dataset of empirical information via a revolutionary cloud-based platform to authoritative figures in commercial, environmental, and humanitarian sectors. We are both a space company and data company all rolled into one. Customers and users across the globe use Planet's data to develop new technologies, drive revenue, power research, and solve our world's toughest obstacles. As we control every component of hardware design, manufacturing, data processing, and software engineering, our office is a truly inspiring mix of experts from a variety of domains. We have a people-centric approach toward culture and community and we strive to iterate in a way that puts our team members first and prepares our company for growth. Join Planet and be a part of our mission to change the way people see the world. Planet is a global company with employees working remotely world wide and joining us from offices in San Francisco, Washington DC, Germany, Austria, Slovenia, and The Netherlands. About the Role: The design team at Planet is looking for a Senior Product Designer to shape Planet's platform experience (insights.planet.com - free trial available). In this role, you will be responsible for defining the core user journeys across our platform, addressing the needs of different user types (from admins, to developers, to end users). With a relentless focus on those users, you will define jobs-to-be-done and design end-to-end user flows across web frontends and agentic workflows. You will collaborate closely with Product and Engineering to decompose these workflows into scalable, reusable UX building blocks, ultimately crafting a cohesive, user-centric platform experience. The perfect candidate brings a track record of designing sophisticated, data-heavy geospatial applications. This role is full stack, in the design sense: you take a problem from discovery with users all the way to designing and building the interfaces, side by side with our engineers. This is a full-time, hybrid role which will require you to work from our Berlin or Haarlem office 3 days per week. Impact You'll Own: Product Design Ownership: Lead the end-to-end process from discovery and prototyping to high-fidelity design. Geospatial Interface Design: Create intuitive, powerful geospatial interfaces that translate complex data into actionable insights. User Research: Gather feedback and conduct user interviews in close collaboration with product partners. UI Architecture: Define and architect the interaction patterns and design system for Planet's platform. Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner with product and engineering to ensure top-tier design quality. Culture: Help build and elevate Planet's design culture. What You Bring: 6+ years designing complex digital products, with a track record of shipping technical, SaaS, or B2B software end to end. Bachelor's degree in design or an equivalent field. A portfolio with geospatial or data analytics work: interactive maps, layered geospatial data and time series (time sliders, change over time, comparisons), plus the statistics and charts that turn data into an insight. Solid core craft in UX/UI, interaction design, prototyping, accessibility, and visual design, plus Figma and enterprise design systems. An AI-native way of working. You can prototype in code with AI coding assistants, and you're comfortable with Git and merge requests. Research you run yourself: user interviews and usability testing, synthesized into clear product direction. Comfort with ambiguity. You take vague, complex problems and drive them to a validated solution without daily oversight. A dynamic, iterative, low-ego way of working with PMs, engineers, and other designers. What Makes You Stand Out: Experience designing for developers, data scientists, or AI agents. Hands-on with remote sensing analysis and familiarity with geospatial standards. You enjoy meeting customers and are open to travel within Europe. Experience helping a team adopt new ways of working. Application Deadline: 11:45p / 23:45 CET on the date stated below. Internship position for World Models for Software Architecture (Constructor Fabric)
Full TimeFully RemoteMid
pythonmachine learningpytorchscikit-learnllmdata science+2

About the Project Constructor Fabric turns a company's informal knowledge into production software through a pipeline of composable capability units called gears : requirements → architecture → product fit → framework (G1) → application → runtime. We are building a World Model over that pipeline — a model that does not just generate code, but predicts the consequences of an architectural decision: total cost of ownership, unintended side effects, latency and failure behaviour, and whether a proposed composition is even admissible. The central object is not a digital twin of the application but its formal architectural skeleton : gear contracts (GearSpec), a typed attributed hypergraph of the application (AppGraph), a composition algebra that defines which assemblies are legal, and several semantic projections (types, protocols, resources, security) over which properties are proved, refuted by counterexample, or reported as an explainable gap . All of it is written in a domain-specific language whose syntax trees and graphs we keep in a projectional editor (JetBrains MPS) — so the DSL is not a convenience layer, it is the thing that defines the model's state space and the boundary of what the model is allowed to propose. Internship Role As a Research Intern (Machine Learning for Software Engineering), you will support the data and modelling work behind the World Model — mining code, building datasets, and running baseline experiments. We are looking for students who are keen to collaborate with industrial companies working with AI, open to out-of-the-box topics, and interested in a long-term collaboration. Key Responsibilities Mine open-source repositories and extract architecture, dependency, and interface graphs from code. Help build and clean (specification → architecture) datasets, including synthetic project generation.
