The AI Teams at Agile Robots are looking for a Machine Learning Engineer (m/f/d) VLA Training & Evaluation , who will build the frameworks for fine-tuning and benchmarking robot foundation models on collected robot data. The frameworks are meant to work across different foundation models and for teams with modest data and compute. Responsibilities Training Workflows: Build reusable, model-agnostic training and evaluation workflows, with experiment tracking, model versioning, and checkpoint management, so that different foundation models can be swapped in without rebuilding the pipeline. Fine-Tuning: Implement fine-tuning of pretrained vision-language-action models on collected robot data, for example with parameter-efficient methods such as LoRA or adapters, or with distillation. Policy Training: Build training loops for action-chunking and transformer-based action models, diffusion policies, and VLM/VLA heads. Benchmarks: Build benchmarks with generalization splits, success metrics, and failure-analysis templates. Transfer Studies: Work with simulation engineers on studies, including metrics and ablations, that test whether improvements in simulation realism improve performance on the real robot. Research Baselines: Turn published methods into working baselines and templates that others can extend. Essential Skills Academic Background: Degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Robotics, or a related field (Master's or PhD typical), or an equivalent combination of formal training and demonstrated experience training deep learning models. Training Internals: Hands-on experience writing and debugging training loops in PyTorch or JAX, including data loading, loss design, and optimizer behavior. Fine-Tuning: Experience fine-tuning pretrained models and adapting them to new tasks and data. Robot Learning: Working understanding of how imitation-learned policies, such as action-chunking or diffusion policies, turn observations into robot actions. Experiment Management: Experience designing evaluations and ablations, and running experiments with tracking, versioning, and checkpoint management so that others can reproduce them. Beneficial Skills VLA Models: Experience fine-tuning vision-language-action or vision-language models for robot control. Real-Robot Evaluation: Experience evaluating learned policies on physical robots. Sim-to-Real: Familiarity with measuring how well models trained in simulation transfer to real hardware. SumUp | Senior Data Analyst - Consumer Growth | London, United Kingdom Competitive salary · Office-first This role does not support Visa sponsorship and candidates must have the right to work in the UK. About the team SumUp is best known for helping small businesses get paid — our Consumer tribe builds the other half of that story. We make SumUp Consumer, the wallet app that lets everyday consumers pay SumUp merchants with a tap, send money to friends, track their spending and earn loyalty rewards along the way. As we grow SumUp Consumer across new markets and features, we need sharp, reliable insight into how people discover, adopt and use the product — and how that behaviour translates If you want to be the person leadership turns to for an honest read of the business, and to see your analysis change real product and commercial decisions, this role is for you. What you'll do Shape commercial decisions Own the SumUp Consumer KPI framework end to end — defining which metrics matter, how they're measured and how they connect customer behaviour to commercial outcomes. Evaluate the quality of our growth: CAC, source attribution, channel performance and downstream customer value, separating headline growth from sustainable growth. Work with Risk and Anti-Fraud so fraud, abuse and economic loss are built into how we judge customers, channels and markets. Drive product decisions Diagnose where customers drop out between acquisition and activation, and which behaviours drive repeat usage, retention and lifetime value. Design and analyse A/B tests and product experiments, assessing both customer and commercial impact. Help Product Managers size opportunities and judge whether shipped features delivered the outcomes they promised. Influence with data Act as an independent analytical partner to Consumer leadership and to Product, Growth, Finance and Risk — proactively surfacing trends, risks and opportunities rather than waiting for requests. Challenge assumptions, metric definitions and interpretations constructively when the evidence points elsewhere. Build trusted reporting and help teams self-serve routine questions, so your time goes on the problems that matter most. Use AI and LLM-assisted techniques to speed up analysis, customer understanding and insight generation. You'll be great for this role if… You form your own view of why something happened and what the business should do about it — not just report what happened. You've influenced senior stakeholders with data, including changing a decision or overturning a long-held assumption. You understand the economics of a digital consumer product: acquisition, activation, retention, churn, customer lifetime value and unit economics. You're fluent in product analytics — funnel, cohort, segmentation and behavioural analysis. You have strong SQL and are comfortable querying, analysing and validating data in a cloud data warehouse such as Snowflake, BigQuery or similar. You use a visualisation tool such as Tableau, Looker or Power BI to build reporting that stakeholders actually rely on. You turn ambiguous questions into structured analysis and tell a clear, concise story to technical and non technical audiences alike. You prioritise by business impact and are comfortable managing several stakeholders and workstreams at once. Bonus points if you have: Experience in consumer fintech, banking, payments or financial services Growth or marketing analytics experience, including attribution, CAC and channel performance (e.g. AppsFlyer, Google Analytics) Experience modelling customer lifetime value or unit economics Experience partnering with fraud, abuse or risk teams Depth in experimentation design and the statistics behind it Familiarity with dbt or experience working alongside Analytics Engineers Python or R for advanced analysis Why you should join SumUp 🌎 Opportunity to work with a truly global, multicultural team from our central London Bridge location, wrapped in historic charm and modern flair. This involves an office-first setup 🌈 Commitment to Diversity and Inclusion: be part of a workplace that values and promotes diversity, fostering an inclusive environment where everyone's perspectives are respected and embraced 🚀 Enrolment onto our Virtual Stock Option programme: you will own a stake in SumUp's future success 🏖 Generous time off: enjoy 28 days of paid leave, plus bank holidays and special leaves 📚 A dedicated annual L&D budget for attending conferences and/or advancing your career through further education 🏥 Health matters: private health insurance, including optical and dental 🚗 Life made easier: salary-sacrifice commuter benefits via Gogeta 💼 Financial security: retirement scheme (SumUp matches 7% when you contribute 5%) 🛡 Peace of mind: life insurance from MetLife for 2× your salary 🌴 Break4me: 1-month sabbatical after 3 years of service 🔗 Referral Bonus: earn additional rewards by referring talented individuals to join the SumUp team About SumUp Be empowered to do more that matters. At SumUp, we're on a mission to empower small businesses across the globe by providing simple and affordable tools that allow them to thrive. Today, over 4 million businesses in 37 markets rely on SumUp as their financial partner to manage payments, finance and customer relationships. Our commitment to small businesses is reflected in our diverse team of over 3,000 SumUppers from over 90 nationalities, united by global collaboration and an innovative mindset. Our core values lay the foundation for who we are and what we stand for, shaping our work culture and driving our success. We foster inclusivity and a continuous learning culture, providing a safe space for personal and professional growth. Our differences make us unique and strong as we strive to create an environment where everyone belongs and feels supported, no matter how they identify.
