Product Engineer | Design Engineering Knowledge Location: Cambridge (UK), hybrid with up to 2 remote days per week Team: Product Start date: ASAP About Neural Concept Neural Concept is the engineering intelligence platform used by leading manufacturers in automotive, aerospace, and energy. We combine geometric and physics AI with LLM-based agents so engineering teams can move from customer requirements to validated designs in a fraction of the usual time. About the role Design decisions depend on information that lives outside the CAD model: customer requirements, design rules, manufacturing and assembly constraints, and cost targets. This information is spread across specification documents, handbooks, ERP systems, requirements management tools, and system models. Engineers gather it by hand, often late in the process, and conflicts surface at design reviews or on the production line. We call the capability that closes this gap Design Engineering Knowledge. It connects the design to the information ecosystem around it, so requirements, constraints, and trade-offs are available to engineers and AI agents while they work on the design itself. As a Product Engineer, you will build this capability. Requirements are the first focus area: extracting them from customer specifications and requirements management systems, structuring them, and keeping them traceable. You will then extend the same foundation to design rule checks, Design for Manufacturing (DfM), Design for Assembly (DfA), and Design for Cost, and connect it to the enterprise systems where this knowledge already lives. You will work with the Product Manager, solution engineers, and customer engineering teams, as the primary developer from the first customer conversation to the version running in production. What you will do Build the requirements foundation: ingest customer specifications and RFQ packages, extract requirements with LLM and agent-based pipelines, and keep each one traceable to its source document and page. Extend this foundation to design rules, DfM, DfA, and Design for Cost, turning standards, handbooks, and company know-how into constraints that software and agents can use. Bring requirements, constraints, and trade-offs into the design workflow, so engineers can check a design against them at any stage and see which ones apply to the part they are working on. Build integrations with the systems around the design: requirements management systems, ERP (cost, materials, and supplier data), and system design and MBSE tools for architecture and system-level requirements. Design the data model that links requirements, rules, and constraints to parts, design parameters, and simulation results. Create evaluation sets and quality metrics with customers, so extraction and checking accuracy is measured and improves with every release. Design human-in-the-loop review flows where engineers validate and edit AI output, with versioning and a full audit trail. Spot recurring patterns across customers and turn them into reusable components of the Neural Concept platform. Who you are Must have Experience building and shipping production Python software in fast-moving, cross-functional teams. Hands-on experience with LLM applications in production: structured outputs, retrieval-augmented generation, agents, and evaluation. Experience integrating with enterprise systems through APIs and data models, for example ERP, PLM, or requirements management tools. Experience with document processing, such as PDF parsing, OCR, or information extraction. Strong software practices: testing (pytest), CI, packaging, code review, and git. A product mindset. You talk to users, understand the problem before writing code, and ship in small, measurable steps. Clear, concise communication with both customer engineers and internal teams. Based in Cambridge (UK) or willing to relocate. Nice to have Background in mechanical engineering or physics, with exposure to DfM, DfA, or design-to-cost practices. Familiarity with requirements engineering and model-based systems engineering (MBSE, SysML). Experience working with CAD data or geometry processing. Experience with vision-language models, vector databases, or search ranking. What you get Ownership of a product capability that customers use in real engineering programs, with direct access to the engineers who use it. A competitive salary and rewarding opportunities as we continue to scale. A collaborative, multicultural team where your work is visible and recognized. Colleagues who share knowledge freely and support each other. A hybrid model and flexible hours. We focus on results and trust you to organize your time. We're proud to be an equal opportunity employer, and we're committed to building a diverse and inclusive environment where you can thrive. Find Jobs in United Kingdom on Arbeitnow

At a Glance Location: Remote, England In-office expectation: Flexible hybrid, once in the office every two weeks Employment type: Permanent Salary: £60,000 to £75,000, subject to experience Why This Role Exists Redgate's product teams move fast, across a growing set of AI and cloud-native technologies, and security can't just be a gate at the end of that process. This role exists to embed security expertise directly into how our engineering teams build and ship software: setting the standards, running the threat modelling, and making the judgement calls that keep pace with delivery instead of slowing it down. About Redgate Redgate brings together people who want to do their best work in an environment built on trust, accountability, and collaboration. We build solutions that help data professionals securely manage the data and databases their organisations depend on, a space that's only becoming more critical as systems scale, data regulations increase, and AI adoption accelerates. AI at Redgate By 2028, Redgate will operate as an expert-plus-agent company: domain experts amplified by AI, delivering customer value at a pace our peers can't match. AI handles the heavy lifting, our people control the judgement. Everyone at Redgate works with Claude, giving you access to the best AI tools from day one. Why Join Our Product Security Team ● You'll shape how security works across multiple product teams, rather than enforcing policy from the sidelines. ● There's real scope to specialise in emerging areas like AI security, work most security roles don't get exposure to yet. ● We value pragmatic, real risk reduction over checkbox compliance, so the judgement you bring carries genuine weight. About the Role This role sits within our Product Security function, embedded across multiple product and engineering teams rather than a single one. You'll define and operationalise security requirements throughout the SDLC, from initial design through to release, with real authority to make independent security calls rather than deferring to what a scanner tells you. It's a role built on trust: teams will come to you for guidance, and the judgement you bring to triage, threat modelling, and governance decisions will shape how security actually gets done here. ● Partner directly with engineering and product teams to define and operationalise security requirements across the full SDLC ● Own or co-own application security governance: secure-by-default standards, patterns, guardrails, and risk exceptions ● Lead threat modelling for new features and architectural changes, turning findings into practical engineering work ● Drive SAST/DAST adoption and quality, from tool tuning to severity calibration and developer-facing triage guidance ● Support product teams adopting AI, including LLMs, SLMs, and MCP, giving you visibility into work most security roles wouldn't touch What Makes You a Great Fit ● Hands-on product or application security experience, embedding security practices across a modern software development lifecycle ● Ability to review code and communicate security issues clearly to developers, primarily within a C# ecosystem, with exposure to Java or Python ● Strong knowledge of the OWASP Top 10 and practical mitigation patterns ● Experience implementing or improving SAST/DAST processes: tool tuning, triage workflows, and reducing signal to noise ● Working understanding of cloud and container security fundamentals, ideally with AWS and Docker What We Offer Salary range: £60,000 to £75,000, subject to experience ● Hybrid working: home and Cambridge office ● Monthly wellbeing allowance and generous paid time off ● Genuine investment in learning, development, and career progression ● Private health insurance See our full list of benefits here - Careers At Redgate - Benefits What Happens Next? ● Your application will be reviewed by a person. We don't use AI or automated tools to assess applications, and every profile is read by one of our Talent Partners. ● You'll hear back within a few days. Whether it's a next step or a no, we aim to respond promptly so you're not left wondering. ● Our interview process is straightforward and consistent. You'll find more detail on our typical hiring process below, so you know what's coming and why. Belonging at Redgate We believe that people do their best work in an environment built on respect, fairness, and trust, and that diverse perspectives lead to better outcomes.
