At Nectar, we're building the AI-native social operating system that enables this new era of commerce. We believe every social interaction should deepen the relationship between brands and their communities while creating genuine value for both sides. Founded by ex-Meta product and engineering leaders, we've raised over $30M in total capital from investors including GV and True Ventures. We work with brands like Oura Health, Caraway, e.l.f. About Nscale Nscale is the GPU cloud built for AI. We run high-performance, cost-efficient infrastructure for AI-native startups and global enterprises, from bare metal up through the platform services teams actually build on. Our culture runs on ownership, accountability, and speed. We move with urgency, we tell each other the truth, and everyone here stays close to the infrastructure that makes AI work. The Role This is a senior SRE role for someone who sets the reliability bar and then pulls the rest of the team up to it. You'll own the hardest problems on the platform: the automation other engineers build on, the services that can't go down, and the design decisions that determine whether either holds up at scale. You'll still carry a pager, but the real job is making sure it fires less, for everyone, over time. What You'll Do Own reliability for critical production services end to end; set the direction, not just respond to what breaks. Grow the team, not just the systems; mentor other SREs through design review, pairing, and incident debriefs, and hold the bar that pulls everyone up to it. Set the standards the rest of the team works to: the SLO framework, the incident process, and the on-call practices that keep it sustainable. Get in early on design reviews and architecture decisions, so reliability is built in rather than bolted on after the first outage. Lead the hardest incidents and the root causes nobody else can crack; turn each one into a change that keeps it from coming back. Build the tooling and automation that removes toil for the whole team, not just your own surface area. What You'll Bring 6-10 years in SRE, systems engineering, or software engineering, with real ownership of production at scale in a data center or cloud environment. Strong software engineering skills (Python, Go, or similar); you build tools other engineers adopt, not scripts that run once and rot. Deep command of Linux, networking, and distributed systems, plus the judgment to know where the real failure modes hide. Hands-on with Kubernetes and virtualized or bare-metal environments; comfortable close to the metal, not just the cloud console. Experience running AI or GPU workloads, or high-performance computing (HPC); if not, the depth to get there fast. Reliability practices you put in place that outlasted you: SLOs, observability and alerting at scale, incident process, on-call that people can actually live with. A track record as the senior voice in incidents and design reviews, trusted to make the call under pressure. A habit of raising the people around you without being asked to. Nice to Have Familiarity with high-performance networking (InfiniBand, RDMA). On-Call and Pace A quick note on the shape of the job. This role sits close to production, so there is an on-call rotation, and some weeks are busier than others. As a senior on the team, you help set how that rotation runs and, more to the point, how we make it lighter over time. We share the load fairly, and we treat every page as a signal worth acting on rather than just an interruption. The goal is to leave the systems quieter than you found them, so each rotation asks less of the person carrying it. If that's the kind of ownership you're drawn to, you'll do well here. What We Offer Competitive base plus equity, reviewed every 12 months. Real ownership from the start, and a direct hand in how reliability works across the platform. Flexibility that treats you as an adult; we care that the work gets done, and we trust you to shape your day. Salary Range $170,000 - $265,000 USD. Actual compensation varies with skill set, experience, and location, and the role may be eligible for bonus and equity. Equal Opportunities Statement At Nscale, we are committed to fostering an inclusive, diverse, and equitable workplace. We believe that a variety of perspectives enrich our work environment, and we encourage applications from candidates of all backgrounds, experiences, and abilities. We strongly encourage applications from people of colour, the LGBTQ+ community, people with disabilities, neurodivergent people, parents, carers, and people from lower socio-economic backgrounds. If there's anything we can do to accommodate your specific situation, please let us know. The range below reflects the base salary for the position. Actual compensation may vary based on job-related factors such as skill set, experience, education, and location. In addition to base salary, this role may be eligible for bonus, equity, and/or commission programs. Nscale may offer a competitive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, flexible paid time off, parental leave, and retirement plan participation. Salary Range: $170,000 USD - $265,000 USD For information on how Nscale handles candidate personal data, please see our Employee & Candidate Privacy Notice: Here. Nscale does not accept unsolicited candidate submissions from recruitment agencies.
Our Mission You call. You wait. You call again. In every other part of your life, you book in seconds. In healthcare, you're blocked. We're here to give power to the patient. For nearly 20 years, we've built the leading healthcare marketplace - helping tens of millions of people find and book the care they need. Now, we're going further: building our infrastructure beyond Zocdoc's marketplace to power access to care wherever patients search, from provider websites and insurance directories to search engines, AI platforms, and more. Healthcare still lacks something every other major consumer industry takes for granted: a seamless way to go from seeking to getting . We don't want to own the front door to care; there isn't one. We want to make sure all of those doors open when patients are knocking. Fixing healthcare starts with fixing access to it. And we're still just getting started. Your Impact On Our Mission Zocdoc is looking for a Senior Site Reliability Engineer to make our distributed production systems more observable, reliable, and safe to change. Our platform connects patients, providers, and many interconnected services and integrations, so reliability depends on understanding the full path of a request—not just whether an individual service is running. You'll help build the observability foundations, automation, and engineering practices that allow Zocdoc to move quickly without sacrificing safety. You'll work across cloud infrastructure, microservices, APIs, and integration points in AWS, partnering closely with product engineering teams to identify risks, improve operational visibility, and make the right behavior easier to build and operate. You'll enjoy this role if you are… Passionate about observability and believe that teams can't reliably operate what they can't see Experienced in integration-rich environments where APIs, third-party dependencies, asynchronous workflows, and distributed services create complex failure modes Excited by the challenge of helping a fast-moving engineering organization ship quickly while keeping systems safe, diagnosable, and resilient Motivated to turn operational knowledge into reusable platforms, automation, telemetry standards, and paved paths for engineering teams Comfortable leading or supporting incident response, communicating clearly under pressure, and using blameless post-mortems to drive meaningful improvements Curious about how systems behave in production and willing to investigate across application code, infrastructure, networking, and external dependencies Collaborative, pragmatic, and able to build trust with engineers across numerous product development teams Autonomous, individually accountable, and always looking for ways to reduce toil and improve the developer and operator experience Your day to day is… Designing, building, and operating observability for distributed services and integrations, including metrics, logs, traces, dashboards, alerts, service-level indicators, and service-level objectives Improving end-to-end visibility across critical patient and provider workflows, including identifying gaps in instrumentation and making dependency health and integration failures easier to understand Creating reliable, repeatable tooling and infrastructure through infrastructure as code, automation, CI/CD, and self-service patterns Partnering with product engineering teams on reliability, scaling, performance, capacity, and failure-mode analysis for services and integrations Helping teams establish actionable alerts and operational ownership so that on-call signals are timely, meaningful, and connected to a clear response path Participating in the on-call rotation and incident response process, including serving as an incident commander when appropriate and driving follow-up work through completion Analyzing and tuning systems, code, cloud resources, and networking for resilience, performance, and efficient operation Strengthening deployment and change-management practices so teams can release frequently with appropriate safeguards, rollback paths, and feedback loops Contributing to platform standards and reusable patterns for containerized workloads, service communication, secrets, routing, and production readiness You'll be successful in this role if you have… 5+ years of experience supporting consumer-facing web applications, APIs, or distributed production environments in a Site Reliability Engineering, Production Engineering, Platform Engineering, or closely related role 2+ years of on-call experience in a 24/7 cloud-based production environment, with a track record of participating in incident response and delivering durable remediation Deep experience operating systems with many integrations, services, dependencies, or external APIs, and a practical understanding of how those relationships affect reliability Demonstrated experience building or improving observability practices, including metrics, structured logging, distributed tracing, dashboards, alerting, SLIs, SLOs, and error budgets 2+ years of experience managing and supporting modern cloud infrastructure, preferably AWS, along with technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, or similar container platforms Proficiency in Python, Go, Ruby, Java, or a comparable language, and the ability to read and troubleshoot application code Experience with infrastructure as code and automated delivery practices, such as Terraform, OpenTofu, CloudFormation, GitHub Actions, GitOps, or equivalent tools Experience with edge and service networking technologies such as load balancers, reverse proxies, ingress controllers, web application firewalls, routing, rate limiting, or circuit breaking A deep understanding of protocols and foundational networking concepts such as TCP/IP, HTTP/HTTPS, TLS, DNS, and NTP Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain operational risk, incident findings, and technical tradeoffs to both engineers and partners Experience working with sensitive data, privacy or compliance requirements, or regulated production environments is a plus, but not required. Benefits Flexible work environment based in NYC Unlimited Vacation 100% paid employee health benefit options (including medical, dental, and vision) 401(k) with employer funded match Corporate wellness program with Wellhub Sabbatical leave (for employees with 5+ years of service) Competitive paid parental leave and fertility/family planning reimbursement Cell phone reimbursement Employee Resource Groups and ZocClubs to promote shared community and belonging Zocdoc is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. Salary ranges are determined through alignment with market data. Base salary offered is determined by a number of factors including the candidate's experience, qualifications, and skills. Our mission is to progress, protect, and provide for the software and systems behind all of Google's public services - Search, Ads, Gmail, Android, YouTube, and AppEngine, to name just a few - with an ever-watchful eye on their availability, latency, performance, and capacity. This is an unusual job, unlike others in the industry. Like traditional operations groups, we keep important, revenue-critical systems up and running despite hurricanes, bandwidth outages, and configuration problems . Unlike traditional operations groups, we also have full access to and authority to fix, extend, and scale the code to keep it working and harden it against all the vagaries of the Internet. We hire people from both systems and software backgrounds. Strong candidates will have experience with both. Just as what we do is unique, where we do it is unique too. At Google, we have the good fortune to have developed many interesting systems ranging from planet-spanning databases to near real-time scalable data warehousing to fault-tolerant datastream joining . In SRE, we flip between the fine-grained detail of disk driver I/O scheduling to the big picture of continental-level service capacity, across a range of systems and a user population measured in billions. We own those products in production. We drive reliability and performance across massive scale by mastering the full depth of the stack. We literally do learn something new every day - usually surprising things - that have the potential to transform the lives of billions of our users around the world. Behind everything our users see online is the architecture built by the Technical Infrastructure team to keep it running. From developing and maintaining our data centers to building the next generation of Google platforms, we make Google's product portfolio possible. We're proud to be our engineers' engineers and love voiding warranties by taking things apart so we can rebuild them. We keep our networks up and running, ensuring our users have the best and fastest experience possible.Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. US: $174000 - $252000 (USD) + 15% bonus target + equity + benefits Responsibilities Learn more about benefits at Google . Engage in and improve the whole lifecycle of services—from inception and design, through to deployment, operation and refinement. Support services before they go live through activities such as system design consulting, developing software platforms and frameworks, capacity planning and launch reviews. Maintain services once they are live by measuring and monitoring availability, latency and overall system health. Scale systems sustainably through mechanisms like automation, and evolve systems by pushing for changes that improve reliability and velocity. Practice sustainable incident response and blameless postmortems. Google is proud to be an equal opportunity workplace and is an affirmative action employer. We are committed to equal employment opportunity regardless of race, color, ancestry, religion, sex, national origin, sexual orientation, age, citizenship, marital status, disability, gender identity or Veteran status. Overview Being good neighbors – helping people, investing in our communities, and making the world a better place – is who we are at State Farm. It is at the core of how we operate and the reason for our success. We're moving with urgency to become a Next Gen Good Neighbor, with technology that strengthens human connections and enhances the customer experience. As an employee, you'll spend less time navigating systems and more time applying judgment, empathy, and expertise in the moments that matter most. Responsibilities Grow Your Skills, Grow Your Potential Imagine writing a Go controller and knowing that when it ships, it changes how thousands of engineers across State Farm deliver software. That's the kind of leverage this role has. We are the Platform Engineering team responsible for Source Code Management systems at State Farm — and we're in the middle of something genuinely exciting: rebuilding our entire developer platform from the ground up. We're moving away from managing infrastructure at the VM/config-management layer and toward a Kubernetes-native, GitOps-first Internal Developer Platform (IDP). We're standing up a modern GitHub SaaS footprint, migrating our engineering teams off on-prem GitLab, building Kubernetes managed resources to automate GitHub organizational state as code, writing custom Go controllers, and defining end-to-end software engineering practices that let product engineers ship features — not fight their tools or environments. This isn't a "keep the lights on and file tickets" role. We build things. We own them end to end. We argue about the right abstractions in pull requests, we iterate based on feedback from the engineers who use our platform daily, and we have real influence over the direction we're headed. If you get excited about reconciliation loops, elegant operator design, and the idea that your platform is the product — you'll fit right in here. We're looking for a Software Engineer with a platform engineering mindset who leads by doing: someone who can design a Kubernetes composition in the morning, pair with a teammate on a GitHub App integration in the afternoon, and have input and opinions about the end-to-end developer experience. Technical depth matters, but so does the ability to communicate, collaborate, and lift others around you. What You'll Work On Design and build Kubernetes-native automation in Go - custom controllers and Crossplane compositions that manage GitHub organizational resources, repositories, teams, rulesets, and enterprise settings as declarative, reconciled state Own our GitHub SaaS platform - organizational governance, enterprise policy enforcement, GitHub Apps, and GitHub Hosted Actions Compute; you'll be one of the engineers defining what "GitHub at enterprise scale" looks like at State Farm Build the path from GitLab to GitHub - design and build automated migration tooling that moves repositories, access, and settings from our on-prem GitLab to GitHub Enterprise Cloud at scale, and partner with engineering teams to get them across with minimal disruption Champion platform adoption - our new platform sets the bar; your job is to help teams meet it. That means building tooling, guides, and automation that help engineering teams onboard: adapting their branching strategies, adjusting their deployment patterns, and conforming their applications to the new model. Enable GitOps everywhere - every piece of state we own should be versioned, reconciled, and auditable; you'll help make that real Our Stack Language - Go Platform - Kubernetes (Red Hat OpenShift), Crossplane, custom controllers and operators Source control - git, GitHub Enterprise Cloud, GitHub Apps, GitHub integrations Cloud - AWS Qualifications Ideal experience Go - you've built something real in Go: a CLI, a Kubernetes controller/operator, an API service, or similar; you understand Go's idioms and best practices Kubernetes - Kubernetes Resource Model (KRM) - CRDs, controllers, reconciliation loops, RBAC, admission webhooks; you understand why Kubernetes is a platform for building platforms, not just a place to run containers Crossplane - hands-on with Compositions, XRDs, Managed Resources, and Providers; or strong Kubernetes operator experience and the curiosity to go deep on Crossplane quickly Good-to-have Experience GitHub Cloud Enterprise & git - enterprise administration, GitHub Apps, REST/GraphQL API automation; strong understanding of git workflows and branching strategies SCM migrations - GitLab administration or API automation; experience moving repositories and teams between source control platforms at scale Red Hat OpenShift - OpenShift-specific patterns and workload deployment on managed Kubernetes AWS - API Gateway, Lambda, ECS/Fargate, IAM, S3, Secrets Manager, VPC networking Deployment/GitOps tooling - Argo CD, Flux, or similar; you think in terms of desired state and reconciliation, not imperative scripts Observability - structured logging, metrics, and distributed traces; experience with Dynatrace, OpenTelemetry, and/or Grafana API design - RESTful and/or GraphQL service patterns Why Join This Team The honest pitch: you'll work on problems that are hard, visible, and impactful. Platform engineering at this scale means your decisions and your code affect how thousands of engineers work every day. We're early enough in this modernization that there's real greenfield work to do and real architectural decisions to make. We're a team that values engineers who communicate well, take ownership seriously, and genuinely care about the developer experience of the people using what we build. If you've been looking for a place to do meaningful platform engineering work — writing Go, designing Kubernetes-native systems, owning GitHub at enterprise scale — this is that opportunity.
