About Nebius: Nebius is leading a new era in cloud infrastructure for the global AI economy. We are building a full-stack AI cloud platform that supports developers and enterprises from data and model training through to production deployment, without the cost and complexity of building large in-house AI/ML infrastructure. Built by engineers, for engineers. From large-scale GPU orchestration to inference optimization, we own the hard problems across compute, storage, networking and applied AI. Listed on Nasdaq (NBIS) and headquartered in Amsterdam, we have a global footprint with R&D hubs across Europe, the UK, North America and Israel. Our team of 1,500+ includes hundreds of engineers with deep expertise across hardware, software and AI R&D. The role Nebius Token Factory is looking for scientists who can turn frontier LLM and VLM inference bottlenecks into research questions, conduct rigorous experiments, and translate their findings into production capabilities. You will own focused research and optimization projects, write strong code, and produce prototypes, publications, and technical artifacts that engineers can build on. Your research will span quantization, distillation, speculative decoding, KV-cache optimization, and model/runtime co-optimization, alongside inference engines and distributed inference architectures. You will investigate how these approaches interact, evaluate their trade-offs across model quality, latency, throughput, memory footprint, and cost per token, and work with engineering teams to bring promising results into production. About Flexport: At Flexport, we believe global trade can move the human race forward. That's why it's our mission to make global commerce so easy there will be more of it. We're shaping the future of a $10T industry with solutions powered by innovative technology and exceptional people. Today, companies of all sizes—from emerging brands to Fortune 500s—use Flexport technology to move more than $19B of merchandise across 112 countries a year. The recent global supply chain crisis has put Flexport center stage as we continue to play a pivotal role in how goods move around the world. We are proud to have the support of the best investors in the game who believe in our mission, solutions and people. Ready to tackle global challenges that impact business, society, and the environment? Come join us. All security disciplines work under the umbrella of the combined PSI (Platform, Security & Infrastructure) team: we build the paved path and tooling that hundreds of engineers around the world rely on every day to ship. This is not a compliance or certification role. You won't be measured on audit portfolios. You'll be measured on the guardrails you build and whether engineering teams reach for them by default. A misconfigured IAM boundary here doesn't just degrade a dashboard: it can stall a customs filing or strand a container. Flexport also runs a genuinely heterogeneous estate: hundreds of services, carrier and customs integrations, and infrastructure spanning three continents, which makes multi-account architecture and cross-border data handling real problems rather than exam questions. What You'll Do Architecture & guardrails Design and review cloud security architecture for AWS and Kubernetes: account structure, network segmentation, workload identity, and secure-by-default patterns for new services. Fix the Terraform module, not the finding — drive remediation-at-source so misconfigurations get closed at the pattern level, not one ticket at a time. Kubernetes & workload security Harden our Kubernetes platform: pod security, service mesh and network policy, secrets management, and supply-chain controls (image provenance and signing). Partner with platform engineers so new services inherit secure defaults instead of requesting them after the fact. Policy & automation Build and maintain policy-as-code and IaC scanning that block risky patterns in CI. Write real code — Go or Python, shipped through the same CI/CD the rest of engineering uses. Partnership Act as the local technical voice on cloud and infrastructure security for our Amsterdam engineering teams, and partner closely with the US-based cloud security team. You Should Have Typically 5–8 years of experience in cloud, infrastructure, or platform security engineering, including hands-on AWS and Kubernetes work — we care more about what you've built than the exact number. If you meet most of this, apply. Proficiency in at least one compiled language (Go or similar) and one scripting language (Python or similar). Experience with infrastructure-as-code (Terraform or similar) and a GitOps delivery model — changes shipped through code review, not tickets and manual steps. Working knowledge of IAM and least-privilege design across cloud and container environments. Nice to Have Experience with cloud security posture tooling (Wiz, Orca, Prisma, or similar) as a signal source rather than an end in itself. Software supply-chain security experience (SLSA, artifact signing, provenance). Familiarity with EU data-residency and cross-border data-handling considerations. Multi-cloud experience. How We Work In Amsterdam we come to the office 3 times a week to hang out, whiteboard, and ship together. We stay closely aligned with our coworkers on other continents. We have the latest hardware and software, including frontier AI models on day one. We're agile, but not dogmatic. Teams decide how they work best. Why This Role Is Special You'll inherit a real, established estate with legacy to pave over — not a blank slate. If you want the harder, more honest version of greenfield work, this is it. This is a builder's cloud security role in a market where the comparable senior openings skew toward certification and audit work. You won't be asked to own a PCI portfolio here. You're part of PSI: security is treated as infrastructure with real engineering quality bars, not a policy function. We sponsor visas for the right candidate. What's in it for you An opportunity to contribute to one of the fastest-growing companies, where you'll have the chance to create a global impact while being part of a thriving multinational environment. Daily catered lunches incl. vegetarian options, breakfast, snacks and soft drinks available in our office on a daily basis. Commute expenses: Flexport will cover home-office commuting costs for employees living outside of Amsterdam. 25 working days as vacation days based on full-time employment. Health insurance: Flexport offers a collective health insurance plan including a basic package and any available additional packages. Your monthly premium is fully paid by Flexport. A defined pension contribution scheme. Equity program: every team member becomes a shareholder, aligning our success with yours. As a private company in a multi-trillion dollar industry, you have a direct stake in our collective growth and success. Employee Assistance Program through Aetna Resources for Living: Flexport provides an employer-sponsored program at no cost to you and your household members. Parental leave benefit: Flexport is here to support you and your family during one of the most important times in life — the birth of a child. Our parental leave program allows both mothers and partners to take time off from work for pregnancy, childbirth, and to bond with your new child. #LI-onsite #LI-YK1 Commitment to Equal Opportunity At Flexport, our ability to fulfill our mission of making global commerce easy and accessible relies on having a diverse, dedicated and engaged workforce. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment regardless of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, physical and mental disability, health status, marital and family status, sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, military and veteran status, and any other characteristic protected by applicable law. Global Data Privacy Notice for Job Candidates and Applicants Depending on your location, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) may regulate the way we manage the data of job applicants. By submitting your application, you are agreeing to our use and processing of your data as required. Please see our Privacy Notice available at www.flexport.com/privacy for additional information. We are looking for a Senior Data Platform Engineer to join the Data Platform at Smartly! Smartly is building the standard path for governed data sharing across product services, analytics, and AI/ML. The Data Platform team owns the contracts, control mechanisms, publication paths, catalog metadata, lifecycle rules, lineage, permissions, and runtime building blocks that make reusable data safe and practical at scale. This is a role for someone who wants to shape a platform early, while working on concrete production problems from the start. Smartly already has the production systems, Kafka backbone, PostgreSQL databases, analytical consumers, and AI/ML use cases that need a better data foundation. The challenge is to turn that reality into a standard path that engineers actually want to use. Our first milestone is focused: centrally managed publishing tables in service-owned PostgreSQL databases, captured through Debezium CDC into Kafka, and registered in DataHub with ownership, lifecycle, lineage, and impact-analysis metadata. Longer-term, the platform expands toward self-service data products, governed materialisations, durable shared state, and reusable data across Smartly's operational and analytical systems. This is not a role where you only maintain an existing reporting pipeline. You will help design and build the platform path that other engineering teams use when they publish and consume shared data. What you will do Design and build platform services, tools, and workflows for contract-driven data publishing and consumption. Build the first production path for platform-managed PostgreSQL publishing tables, Debezium CDC, Kafka topics, and catalog registration. Create GitOps-style workflows where contracts, schemas, ownership, lifecycle, compatibility, policy metadata, and runtime desired state are reviewed, validated, and reconciled as code. Build tooling that gives product engineers fast feedback before they publish or change data products. Help define how Smartly models data products, publishing contracts, schema evolution, field stability, deletion semantics, access policy, lineage, and cost attribution. Operate and improve the CDC runtime model, including Kubernetes workloads, source-specific isolation, offsets, schema history, heartbeats, signal channels, lag visibility, replay, resnapshotting, and recovery. Integrate platform metadata into DataHub so engineers can discover data products, understand ownership, trace lineage, and reason about the impact of changes. Work with product, infrastructure, data engineering, analytics, and AI/ML teams to make the standard path easier and safer than bespoke point-to-point integrations. What we are looking for Strong experience building and operating production software systems, preferably in platform, infrastructure, backend, or data-intensive environments. Deep understanding of distributed systems trade-offs: reliability, idempotency, replay, eventual consistency, ownership boundaries, compatibility, and operational failure modes. Practical experience with PostgreSQL or other relational databases, including schema design, migrations, transactions, replication, or operational performance. Experience with Kafka, event streaming, CDC, Debezium, or adjacent data-movement technologies. Direct Debezium experience is valuable, but strong fundamentals matter more. Experience building software that other engineers use: CLIs, internal platforms, control planes, automation, CI validation, developer tooling, or self-service workflows. Familiarity with Kubernetes and cloud or infrastructure platforms, including runtime isolation, deployment, observability, and operational ownership. Ability to turn ambiguous architectural direction into practical increments, make trade-offs explicit, and deliver useful production systems without waiting for perfect certainty. Clear written and spoken communication in English. This role involves aligning multiple engineering teams around standards, contracts, and ownership boundaries. Useful experience, but not required DataHub or other data catalog, lineage, or governance systems. Open table formats such as Apache Iceberg, object-store-backed data lakes, S3, BigQuery, ClickHouse, or analytical storage systems. GitHub Actions, policy-as-code, infrastructure-as-code, controllers, operators, or reconciliation-based systems. Data contracts, schema registries, Protobuf, Avro, JSON Schema, compatibility checking, field-level metadata, or contract testing. Experience supporting analytics, AI/ML, feature-store-style access patterns, or cross-domain product-service integrations. Experience with JVM languages and Python, TypeScript, Go, or Ruby. What we offer you At Smartly, we offer a place where you can do meaningful technical work while growing with a global team. Inclusive global culture built on trust, transparency, open feedback, and respect for different perspectives. Global impact through technology used by major brands to plan, create, optimize, and understand digital advertising at scale. Wellbeing support, paid holidays, family leave, and sustainable ways of working. Equity options, performance-based rewards, competitive compensation, and career development opportunities. A flexible hybrid workplace that balances office collaboration with focused remote work. At Smartly we work 3 days a week from the office. Location: Remote within Europe, with regular presence in Bremen Direct Reports: None Working Model: Remote / hybrid. Regular time on-site in Bremen. Mission Own build, deployment and infrastructure for scientific software that runs in awkward places — customer premises, restricted laboratory networks, air-gapped sites, and our own cloud. The role combines conventional cloud platform engineering with the harder problem of shipping updatable software into environments we do not control. Responsibilities Pillar 1 Deployment and Delivery Own build, CI/CD and release for the platform across cloud and on-premise targets. Build and maintain installers and update paths that work in restricted and offline environments. Manage database migration and rollback paths for customer installations. Success Metrics and KPIs: release frequency, failed deployments, time to patch a customer site. Pillar 2 Infrastructure Run the Kubernetes and GitOps side of the platform. Own secrets management, access control and infrastructure-as-code. Implement monitoring and log aggregation across internal and customer environments. Integrate with Constructor's platform, identity and deployment tooling. Success Metrics and KPIs: uptime, mean time to detect, infrastructure reproducible from code. Pillar 3 Security and Governance Introduce static analysis and dependency and licence scanning into the pipeline. Own backup, recovery and continuity for the platform. Support audit and compliance requirements from funded research and customer contracts. Accountability: no single undocumented dependency on one person, including yourself. Requirements Experience Strong AWS or equivalent, Kubernetes, and configuration management such as Ansible, at production scale. Real experience of on-premise and offline deployment, not only cloud. CI/CD pipeline ownership end to end Skills & Competencies Autonomous and proactive. You have carried infrastructure alone. Willing to hand knowledge over rather than hold it. Interested in the product and the science, not only the pipeline. Clear communicator in English. Education & Languages Degree in computer science or engineering, or equivalent practical track record. Fluent English. What This Role Is (and Is Not) This role IS Full ownership of infrastructure for a technically unusual product. A role where you finally get a team around you. Exposure to a broad modern stack. This role is NOT A pure cloud or pure on-premise role. A ticket-driven operations role. A role without contact with the product. Find Jobs in Germany on Arbeitnow
About the Position: We are looking for an experienced, motivated mid-level professional for a dual role: classic IT DevOps responsibilities combined with the evaluation and support of AI/ML models and vendors. This position is a great fit for someone who wants to combine technical infrastructure expertise with an interest in current AI/ML developments. The role sits in internal IT and is not part of robotics product development. The two areas are not equally plannable: production operations take precedence, and AI/ML evaluation runs as project work around operational load. Responsibilities : CI/CD, Automation & Software Development: Build, maintain, and improve CI/CD pipelines using GitLab CI and Jenkins; automate recurring operational processes; collaborate with development teams on deployment processes; develop small-scale internal software for IT and other internal departments; support software integrations, particularly Entra ID, Active Directory, and SSO. Cloud, Infrastructure & Operations: Manage and optimize AWS, Azure, and GCP infrastructure; use Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible), Docker and Kubernetes on select projects (not a global standard); operate the largely Linux-based landscape (approx. 80–85% Ubuntu), including patch/update management; ensure availability, scalability, security, monitoring, logging and alerting (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK); manage backup/disaster recovery and cloud cost optimization. Production Support & AI/ML Evaluation: Manage incidents and troubleshoot production environments (no on-call rota currently planned; if introduced, it will be agreed and compensated separately); evaluate AI/ML models and vendors (e.g. OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, Microsoft Azure AI) for performance, cost, suitability, cost-benefit, and licensing; evaluate open-weight/self-hosted models (e.g. vLLM, Ollama) where data residency, data protection, or cost requirements make external APIs unsuitable. AI/ML Testing, Integration & Support: Define objective AI/ML test criteria and benchmarks with the team lead; build and maintain evaluation datasets and re-run them after new model versions to detect regressions; support integration into existing systems/workflows, including RAG and agent tooling; act as first point of contact for technical AI/ML issues, providing first-level support and escalating to the team lead. AI Governance, Compliance & Enablement: Document model best practices, limitations, and use cases; track market developments; collaborate with business departments to identify new use cases; support compliance on data protection, security, and AI regulations, particularly the EU AI Act and GDPR (internal deployer-side use, not product conformity); train and enable internal staff on AI/ML tools, contributing to AI literacy under Art. 4 of the EU AI Act and internal AI governance/use guidelines Your Profile: Completed degree in Computer Science, IT, or comparable professional experience 2 to 4 years of experience in a DevOps environment Hands-on experience with CI/CD tooling; both GitLab CI and Jenkins are in use Experience with at least one major public cloud (AWS, Azure, or GCP); all three are in use Solid experience operating Linux systems (Ubuntu), as the large majority of systems run on it Experience with containerization (Docker); Kubernetes knowledge is a plus, as it is used on a per-project basis Solid working knowledge of the core DevOps toolchain: Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible), scripting (Python, Bash), and monitoring, logging, and alerting (e.g. Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack) Basic knowledge or hands-on experience working with AI/ML models or APIs (e.g., LLM providers) An analytical mindset for objectively evaluating tools and vendors Strong communication skills for collaborating with technical and non-technical teams Fluent in English, spoken and written What we offer A dynamic high-tech company, combined with financial soundness and world-class investors. Join an interdisciplinary, international team with 60+ different nationalities in a collaborative work environment. Lots of development opportunities as we continue to grow. Challenging tasks and impactful projects alongside experts that enable professional and personal growth. Corporate Benefits Program covering health, mobility, and learning for 100€ net per month. Modern office facilities with a rooftop terrace overlooking Munich, free drinks & fruits, and regular company events contribute to a good working environment About us Agile Robots SE is an international high-tech company based in Munich, Germany with a production site in Kaufbeuren and more than 3500 employees worldwide.
