Who is Atominvest Atominvest is the operating system for modern private markets asset managers. Our modular, flexible SaaS technology underpins key investor- and portfolio-management workflows. Our customers are sophisticated private equity, growth equity, and private credit firms managing billions in assets globally. We aim to deliver ongoing high-quality outcomes for them through a long-term partnership mindset. At Atominvest, you'll be working on something very exciting: the future of work, investments and sustainability/ ethical investing for the world's best investors and delivering a positive impact through this. Based on the growth we are experiencing, we think we're on to something big. It won't be easy. Joining a scale up business is an amazing and rewarding challenge, pushing well beyond the boundaries of natural growth cycles. You'll move quicker than feels comfortable and be brilliant at continually re-prioritizing what must get done to keep Atominvest growing year over year at the pace of the best SaaS companies on the planet. We've gone from zero to ten, now we're looking to go from ten to one hundred! About the role Hi, I'm Thomas, VP Engineering at Atominvest. This is the hire I'm most excited about, so I wanted to tell you about it myself. You'll own the platform our clients run on and build the AI development harness our engineers work in day to day. That work runs from infrastructure to application code, so we're looking for an experienced engineer with breadth across both, and depth in at least one. Together, it's what lets a small, lean team, working alongside AI agents, ship like a much bigger one. By platform, we mean everything our product and our engineers stand on: infrastructure, security, test automation, developer experience, and the agent pipelines that run through all of them. It's a broad, hands-on role. You'll write infrastructure as code for a new service one day and address network vulnerabilities the next, then enhance our AI development harness and release a new feature, all within the same month. You might be a platform engineer who loves shipping product, or a full-stack engineer who has run serious production infrastructure. Either works. As deployments grow more complex, the team needs your depth in infrastructure and distributed systems. You'll strengthen the architecture and make the design decisions the platform will rest on for years. Those decisions should leave room to grow, because future products may bring much larger volumes of data than we handle today. It has to stay dependable while we do it. Our software needs to be available around the clock, every day of the year, and data integrity is critical. Our clients use Atominvest to report to their own investors, so a wrong number matters as much as an outage. Security, reliability and audit-readiness matter too. If you enjoy getting those right without slowing everything else down, you'll find plenty of fun things to work on. The machine that builds the product We're becoming AI-native. Agents do more and more of the mechanical work of writing code, and engineers build the machine that builds the product: the architecture, the specs, the limits agents work within, and the evals that tell us whether their output is right. I think that moves an engineer's leverage upstream. When code is cheap, the scarce things are judgement and understanding. Which problem is worth solving? What does good look like for the person using it? Is the output actually right? Did what we shipped help? The best engineers I've worked with always solved the end problem, with code as the medium. Now that's most of the job. That's why product and user understanding sit at the centre of how we work. An engineer who knows our clients' workflows can point agents at the right problem and spot when the result is subtly wrong. Without that, agents just build the wrong thing faster. Your part is the AI development harness that makes this safe. That means sandboxed environments with synthetic data, scoped and audited access to logs and alerts, and evals and validation gates in CI. It also means firm lines, enforced by tooling, that keep production deploys and secrets in human hands, and client data out of reach of development agents. You'll also build the agent orchestration pipelines that run in three places: in how we build software, in AI workflows inside the product our clients use, and in the internal tools our implementation team uses to onboard and configure clients. What you'll do Build the machine that builds the product Most of your time goes here. Build our AI development harness. Self-service infrastructure, a reproducible development environment, and the sandboxes, guardrails and evals that let agents take on more of the work safely, with results we can measure. Automate quality. Build the QA automation pipeline: automated tests, validation gates and release checks that give us confidence in every change, including the ones agents write. Orchestrate agents across the business. Build pipelines that run agents reliably and safely in our product workflows and our internal implementation tools, not just in engineering. Own the platform Own our infrastructure. We're migrating to ECS. You'll strengthen our ECS architecture, see the move through in safe, reversible stages, bring every resource under infrastructure as code, and retire the old deployment model. Build security into the platform. Tenant-scoped credentials, per-tenant secrets, least-privilege access, and the audit trail that SOC 2 and our clients' security teams expect. Make production observable. Set up the monitoring, alerting and tracing we rely on, and build playbooks for on-call and incident response which is shared amongst the team. Work across the stack Make the application changes the harness needs, such as synthetic data, test hooks and the specs agents work from. Ship product. Pick up application work in TypeScript and React alongside the team. Over time, you'll learn the codebase as well as the platform it runs on. Grow the team around you. Write the design notes and runbooks, pair with and review the work of other engineers, and mentor those who want to grow into infrastructure, so the platform never depends on one person. Your first six months Get the first parts of "the machine" running, and show that they make the team faster without lowering quality. At the moment all of our end to end testing is done manually by our Product team. That's a massive manual overhead that bottlenecks our product development. You'll help build our AI-powered QA automation pipeline, so every change, whether a person or an agent wrote it, is tested automatically before it reaches clients. Strengthen the ECS architecture and complete the move with no disruption to clients. Get the platform fully into code, with tenant isolation and least privilege designed in. Put in place the monitoring and on-call foundations the team will build on. How you'll work You'll own this area rather than work through a ticket queue. You'll decide what to build and when it's good enough, write your decisions down so others can challenge them, and tell us when something isn't worth doing. You'll work closely with Product from the start of significant work, because the platform exists to serve clients and the engineers building for them. You and I will work together every day. We'll shape the technical direction together and think through the hard calls, and you'll have a direct line to every decision that affects your work. I'll back your judgement, and I'll expect you to push back when you think I'm wrong. This is an individual contributor role, but we expect you to multiply the team: leading different areas at different times, and delivering through others as well as through your own work. You'll probably enjoy this if You'd rather build a platform properly than keep patching one. You're product-minded. You've probably worked at a startup or scale-up, or even founded something yourself. Seeing your work out in the world, solving real problems, is what motivates you. You ask who a change is for before you ask how to build it. You already work this way. Agents write much of your code, and your time goes on design, specs and judging the output. You've built AI tooling for yourself, and probably for others on your team. You get satisfaction from making other engineers faster. You're comfortable writing Terraform, an API endpoint and an answer to a client's security questionnaire in the same week. You've been the person others come to with hard problems, and you've changed your mind publicly when the evidence said so. This probably isn't for you if You want a pure DevOps or SRE role. You want to manage people right now. These opportunities might exist in the future, but for now we're small, lean and as flat as possible. What you'll bring Very few people match every line. If most of this describes you, we'd like to hear from you. Deep, hands-on AWS. Several years running production workloads on ECS or EKS, with a solid grasp of IAM, networking and Lambda. Infrastructure as code as a habit , with Terraform or CloudFormation, including bringing existing hand-built resources under code. Scaling distributed systems. You've taken systems through real growth in load and data, and can teach others what you learnt. Single-tenant SaaS experience. You know the isolation trade-offs and how to keep one client's data and credentials away from another's. Security and compliance as part of engineering: least privilege, secrets management, and evidence for SOC 2 or ISO 27001. Production experience: on-call, incidents, post-mortems, and observability tooling such as Datadog, Grafana or Honeycomb. Full-stack product building. Senior TypeScript and Node.js, plus React, with a track record of shipping features end to end yourself, not just supporting the people who do. Test automation and CI/CD. You've designed pipelines that test at the right levels and release safely, and you keep them fast and simple. Tooling you've built for AI agents , not just used: agent configuration and orchestration, MCP servers or similar integrations, evals, automated review. Our stack TypeScript, Node.js, React and MongoDB Atlas, running on AWS. CircleCI and Bitbucket. AI coding agents are part of everyday work. You don't need experience of all of these. How we hire We want to see how you actually work, so there are no whiteboard puzzles. Screening call with me (20 minutes) Competencies interview with me (30 minutes) Technical deep dive with a few of our engineers (90 minutes) Culture fit interview with our CEO, Hemal (30 minutes) I'll be your main point of contact throughout. You'll know what to expect before each stage, and if we don't make an offer, I'll give you feedback. Find Jobs in United Kingdom on Arbeitnow

Full TimeFully RemoteSenior
pythongorustbashawsgoogle cloud+36

About the role 0G is hiring its first dedicated DevOps engineer to own our cloud platform end to end: infrastructure, deployments, networking, security hygiene and cost. Today that work is spread across several developers. Our platform runs on five providers: Google Cloud, Alibaba Cloud, AWS, Cloudflare and Vercel. It includes: Validator, seed, RPC, and archive nodes for our mainnet and testnet Confidential-computing (TEE) workloads, GPU machines and storage nodes Kubernetes clusters and managed databases A global RPC load balancer at the edge, and our web apps All together, that is more than 200 virtual machines. You will be the person who knows what runs where, why it runs there, and what it costs. What you'll own You own the platform, from the network edge to the bill. Cloud operations: provisioning, upgrades, capacity and the full resource lifecycle on Google Cloud, Alibaba Cloud and AWS. That includes rightsizing and releasing what nobody uses. Kubernetes: run, upgrade and scale our clusters. Keep them on supported versions and design node pools, autoscaling and Spot capacity. Blockchain node fleet: operate validator, sentry, seed, RPC and archive nodes, including peering topology, snapshots, sync and client upgrades. Networking and edge: VPC design, load balancers, DNS, Cloudflare Workers, Tunnels and WAF, and keeping internet egress deliberate and cheap. Infrastructure as code and CI/CD: every environment defined in Terraform or Pulumi. You design and run CI/CD on Jenkins or an equivalent such as GitHub Actions or GitLab CI, covering builds, tests, security scans and releases from commit to production, with no manual steps. Observability and on-call: metrics, logs, alerts and dashboards, including control of metric cardinality. You also run incident response and write the postmortems. Security and access: least-privilege IAM across every provider, secrets management, and no databases or admin ports open to the internet. Cost management: billing exports, budgets and alerts, tagging, a monthly cost review and commitment planning. Developer enablement: templates, preview environments, documentation and support for the engineers who ship on the platform. Our stack Kubernetes: GKE, EKS, Helm, Ingress and Gateway API, autoscaling, RBAC, network policies Networking: TCP/IP, subnets and CIDR, routing, NAT, L4 and L7 load balancers, DNS, TLS, firewalls, VPC peering Google Cloud: Compute Engine, GKE, Cloud SQL, Cloud Run, IAM, Cloud Monitoring, billing export to BigQuery Infrastructure as code: Terraform, Pulumi CI/CD and containers: Jenkins or an equivalent (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI), Argo CD, Docker and BuildKit, container registries Observability: Prometheus, Grafana, Cloud Monitoring, CloudWatch, Alibaba CloudMonitor Linux: Systems administration, systemd, disks and filesystems, performance debugging Alibaba Cloud: ECS, VPC, NLB and ALB, ESSD disks, RDS, PolarDB, SAE, Cloud Firewall AWS: EC2, EKS, RDS, ALB and NLB, Route 53, S3, Organizations Cloudflare: DNS, Workers, Tunnels, WAF and rate limiting, Zero Trust Databases (operations): PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, managed Kafka Blockchain nodes: CometBFT-based chains, reth and other EVM clients, P2P networking Vercel: Projects, builds, ISR, team access Confidential computing: Intel TDX virtual machines on Google Cloud and Alibaba Cloud Must-haves We want 5+ years in DevOps, SRE or platform roles, including 3+ years running production Kubernetes and owning CI/CD pipelines. Kubernetes, in depth Upgrading control planes and node pools with no downtime, and keeping clusters on supported versions. Scheduling: requests and limits, affinity, taints and tolerations, priority, and eviction under node pressure. Autoscaling with the HPA, cluster autoscaler or Karpenter, plus Spot or preemptible node pools for non-critical work. Networking inside the cluster: CNI, Services, Ingress or Gateway API, network policies, and DNS within the cluster. Security: RBAC, Pod Security, workload identity, and secrets that never sit in plain environment variables. Stateful workloads: StatefulSets, persistent volumes and CSI drivers, and backup and restore. Packaging and delivery with Helm or Kustomize, ideally through GitOps with Argo CD or Flux. Debugging a failing pod, node or rollout from events, logs and metrics. CI/CD, in depth Pipeline design: you have built and run production CI/CD on Jenkins or an equivalent (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, CircleCI, Tekton). Pipelines are defined as code in a Jenkinsfile or workflow YAML, with shared libraries and reusable templates. CI platform operations: running Jenkins controllers with ephemeral agents on Kubernetes, or self-hosted runners. That includes plugin and version upgrades, credential handling, and scaling build capacity. Build pipelines: multi-service and monorepo builds with caching and parallel stages, and versioned artifacts. Container images built with Docker, BuildKit or Kaniko, including multi-architecture images, image scanning, SBOMs and signing. Deployment pipelines: promotion from dev to staging to production with approvals and quality gates, plus blue-green, canary and fast rollback. GitOps with Argo CD or Flux, and database migrations as part of a release. Infrastructure pipelines: Terraform or Pulumi plan and apply from CI, with policy checks and drift detection. Pipeline security: short-lived credentials through OIDC federation or a secrets vault instead of long-lived keys, least-privilege deploy roles, and protected branches. Release engineering for our chain: building and publishing node binaries and images, and coordinating rolling upgrades across validator and RPC fleets. Delivery health: you track build time, build cost, flaky tests and DORA metrics (deployment frequency, lead time, change failure rate, time to restore), and you cut wasted builds with ignore rules and caching. Networking fundamentals TCP/IP, subnetting and CIDR, routing, NAT, and the difference between L4 and L7 load balancing. DNS, TLS and certificates, firewalls and security groups. Private connectivity: VPC design, peering, private endpoints, and keeping internal traffic off public IPs. Troubleshooting with dig, curl, mtr and tcpdump, and understanding what internet egress costs. Also required Production experience on at least two of Google Cloud, AWS and Alibaba Cloud, and willingness to learn the third quickly. Terraform or Pulumi in production, plus scripting in Bash and in Python or Go. A track record of cutting a cloud bill with data, through rightsizing, cleanup or commitments.
