Join us in building the future of finance. Our mission is to democratize finance for all. An estimated $124 trillion of assets will be inherited by younger generations in the next two decades. The largest transfer of wealth in human history. If you're ready to be at the epicenter of this historic cultural and financial shift, keep reading. About the team + role We are building an elite team, applying frontier technologies to the world's biggest financial problems. We're looking for bold thinkers. Sharp problem-solvers. Builders who are wired to make an impact. Robinhood isn't a place for complacency, it's where ambitious people do the best work of their careers. We're a high-performing, fast-moving team with ethics at the center of everything we do. Expectations are high, and so are the rewards. The Observability team's mission is to build and own Robinhood's full-stack observability platform — the foundation that keeps every product, service, and customer experience running reliably at scale. We design and operate the systems that give engineers deep visibility into how Robinhood's infrastructure behaves, ensuring that when something goes wrong, the right people know immediately and can act fast. Our work spans metrics, logs, distributed tracing, and alerting pipelines, and we partner closely with the Robinhood Command Center to ensure our observability systems meet or exceed 99.9% uptime. We believe in monitoring our own monitors — the observability infrastructure is a product, not just a tool. As a Senior Software Engineer on the Observability team, you will be the technical lead shaping the roadmap for how Robinhood observes itself at scale. You will own the observability control plane end-to-end, making architectural decisions that directly impact the reliability and operational health of Robinhood's entire product surface. You'll lead a team of six engineers, drive the strategy for cost-efficient telemetry ingestion, build in-house solutions where off-the-shelf tooling falls short, and integrate AI-driven approaches to accelerate progress toward full-stack observability. This is a high-ownership, high-visibility role where your technical decisions set the direction for the entire organization! This role is based in our Menlo Park, CA office, with in-person attendance expected at least 3 days per week. At Robinhood, we believe in the power of in-person work to accelerate progress, spark innovation, and strengthen community. Our office experience is intentional, energizing, and designed to fully support high-performing teams. What you'll do Define and execute the full-stack observability roadmap, establishing a clear technical vision for metrics, logs, traces, and alerting infrastructure across Robinhood's engineering organization. Own and evolve the observability control plane, including telemetry ingestion pipelines, cost management strategies, and the tooling that ensures observability components remain highly available. Lead and collaborate with a team of six engineers to build scalable, self-service observability solutions that enable product and infrastructure teams to move faster with greater confidence. Establish and maintain SLOs for observability systems that meet or exceed Robinhood's 99.9% uptime target, ensuring the observability platform is as reliable as the services it monitors. Partner with the Robinhood Command Center and engineering teams across the organization to align on dependency mapping, incident response workflows, and observability standards. What you bring 5+ years of software engineering experience, with a proven track record of owning and delivering large-scale observability or infrastructure platform initiatives. Deep expertise in Kubernetes and public cloud environments (AWS preferred), with the ability to architect and operate distributed systems at scale regardless of specific vendor tooling. Strong coding proficiency in one or more languages (Go, Python, or similar) with experience integrating observability agents, libraries, and instrumentation directly into production codebases. Demonstrated experience owning an observability control plane or telemetry pipeline — including ingestion cost management, cardinality control, and signal routing — in a high-traffic production environment. Experience with the Vector data pipeline (or equivalent high-throughput log/metrics routing tools) and familiarity with tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Honeycomb, Humio, or Sentry is a plus. What we offer Challenging, high-impact work to grow your career Performance driven compensation with multipliers for outsized impact, bonus programs, equity ownership, and 401(k) matching Top Tier benefits to fuel your work, including 100% paid health insurance for employees with 90% coverage for dependents Access to the best AI tools on the market and continuous AI skill-building for every employee, technical or not Lifestyle wallet - a highly flexible benefits spending account for wellness, learning, and more Employer-paid life & disability insurance, fertility benefits, and mental health benefits Time off to recharge including company holidays, paid time off, sick time, parental leave, and more! This is a role for someone who is equally fluent in SOPs and go/no-go frameworks, and uses AI to rethink what's possible. This role is based in our Denver, CO and Westlake, TX office, with in-person attendance expected at least 3 days per week (W,Th,F required) At Robinhood, we believe in the power of in-person work to accelerate progress, spark innovation, and strengthen community. Our office experience is intentional, energizing, and designed to fully support high-performing teams. The bar: streamlined workflows, resolved bottlenecks, and consistently higher-quality outcomes delivered faster. What you bring Experienced individual contributor with advanced knowledge of knowledge management and content strategy, and practical experience across multiple related job areas — typically 3-4+ years of relevant experience Proven track record of independently owning multiple functions end-to-end and making meaningful program-level decisions with limited outside support Deep knowledge management and content strategy background: governance, information architecture, content lifecycle, and knowledge base operations Leads cross-functional collaboration and influences Product, Engineering, Compliance, and CX partners across all levels across multiple assigned functions Executive-level communication: able to move between granular operational detail and leadership-ready narratives depending on the audience Strong project management skills; comfortable holding multiple workstreams simultaneously without losing quality Uses AI to tackle hard, domain-specific problems — not just to speed up work but to rethink what's possible Active FINRA licenses where functionally necessary; deep subject matter expertise in assigned function(s) What we offer Challenging, high-impact work to grow your career. Our Mission You call. You wait. You call again. In every other part of your life, you book in seconds. In healthcare, you're blocked. We're here to give power to the patient. For nearly 20 years, we've built the leading healthcare marketplace - helping tens of millions of people find and book the care they need. Now, we're going further: building our infrastructure beyond Zocdoc's marketplace to power access to care wherever patients search, from provider websites and insurance directories to search engines, AI platforms, and more. Healthcare still lacks something every other major consumer industry takes for granted: a seamless way to go from seeking to getting . We don't want to own the front door to care; there isn't one. We want to make sure all of those doors open when patients are knocking. Fixing healthcare starts with fixing access to it. And we're still just getting started. Your Impact on Our Mission We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join the teams that build Zocdoc's provider platform — Provider Infrastructure and Provider Roster Management. These teams create and scale the core systems that: Store and serve provider, location, and roster data as a reliable source of truth. Power onboarding and ongoing management experiences for practices of all sizes, from solo providers to large health systems. Ensure provider changes propagate quickly and safely to downstream systems like Search, Availability, Analytics, and Integrations — so patients always see accurate information. We're building toward a future where Zocdoc can onboard and manage tens of thousands of providers under a single organisation in days, not months, with predictable performance and reliability across the stack. Your work will directly improve how quickly providers get live on Zocdoc, how confidently clients manage their rosters, and how reliably downstream experiences behave as we scale. As a senior engineer here, you'll balance meaningful individual contribution with mentorship. You'll work across the stack — front to back and everything in between — with an emphasis on robust, observable services and high-scale data flows. You'll take ideas from inception to reality by rapidly iterating, validating with real usage, and hardening systems for long-term scale. You'll Enjoy This Role If You Are… Excited by the challenge of scaling — passionate about building reliable systems with cloud-native infrastructure and event-driven patterns. A product-driven engineer who enjoys partnering closely with PM, design, Ops, and analytics to solve real customer problems. Motivated by building products that make healthcare easier for providers, operations teams, and patients. Excited to use technology to simplify complex workflows — turning messy, high-volume data into clear, predictable experiences. Passionate about building diverse and inclusive teams and culture. Curious about how AI and GenAI can responsibly improve developer productivity and provider experiences (e.g., smarter prefill, better insights), while staying grounded in real value. Your Day to Day Is… Building and evolving services and tools that power our scaling initiatives across Provider Infrastructure and Roster Management. Writing clean, well-tested code across C#, React, and AWS-based services. Collaborating closely with engineers, PMs, designers, and Ops to shape solutions from idea to launch. Contributing to service migrations away from legacy systems toward modern, event-driven architectures. Using metrics, dashboards, and load tests to keep services healthy and observable as usage grows. Sharing knowledge and feedback to help the team move faster and make better technical decisions. Note: As a Zocdoc engineer, you'll have access to and be encouraged to use generative AI coding tools as part of your day-to-day workflow. You'll Be Successful in This Role If You Have… 6+ years of professional software development experience, with significant backend or full-stack work on distributed systems. Experience shipping features or services for high-scale systems — internal tools, data pipelines, or user-facing applications — where correctness, resilience, and performance matter. Comfort working across the stack and learning unfamiliar parts of a system when needed. Experience in an agile, cross-functional environment, collaborating with product, design, analytics, and operations partners. A track record of mentoring other engineers and raising the bar on testing, observability, and deployment practices. Solid communication skills and empathy for both internal users and external customers. Technologies we use C# and .NET React AWS — DynamoDB, Lambda, SQS/SNS, Kinesis Elasticsearch / OpenSearch, asynchronous event processing AI/ML and GenAI tooling (e.g., LLM-based services, vector search, embeddings) Benefits An incredible team of smart and supportive people A competitive compensation package, including attractive medical insurance Flexible, hybrid work environment Amazing perks – think catered lunch every day, Ping Pong, etc. Daycare reimbursement The chance to create a better healthcare experience for millions of patients!
