Every day, hosts offer unique stays and experiences that make it possible for guests to connect with communities in a more authentic way. The Community You Will Join The Cities team leads the work necessary to implement the regulatory products and processes needed globally to comply with regulations, and does so in a manner that also sustainably supports Airbnb's growth. Within Cities, this role owns Airbnb's platform regulatory compliance program across EMEA — the growing set of EU and UK obligations that sit alongside, and increasingly beyond, short-term rental regulation. The Difference You Will Make As Senior Compliance Lead, EMEA, you are the accountable owner for a portfolio of platform regulations that is expanding in scope, scrutiny, and consequence — including the Digital Services Act, the UK Online Safety Act, and more. Define the product, engineering, and data requirements needed to meet obligations at scale, and partner with Product and Engineering to shape the roadmap, sequence delivery, and validate outcomes against compliance standards. Your Expertise:  12+ years of experience in regulatory compliance, compliance program management, or regulatory operations — preferably in a technology platform or another highly regulated industry. Airbnb was born in 2007 when two hosts welcomed three guests to their San Francisco home, and has since grown to over 5 million hosts who have welcomed over 2 billion guest arrivals in almost every country across the globe. Every day, hosts offer unique stays and experiences that make it possible for guests to connect with communities in a more authentic way. The Community You Will Join:  Fraud & Safety Delivery (FSD) is at the heart of keeping Airbnb safe for the millions of hosts and guests who trust our platform every day. As part of Global Operations, FSD reviews and resolves potential fraud and safety cases across the full user lifecycle, with internal and partner specialists operating 24/7 across the globe. You'll sit in Frontline Operations, working alongside the operations managers who run our frontline teams, including the vendor teams who deliver alongside us. Your closest partners are Advanced Analytics, Capacity Planning, Quality Analytics, Business Intelligence and Tools Support. The Difference You Will Make: Right now, when a frontline metric moves, it takes several teams and several days to work out why, and the answer often arrives after the moment to act on it has passed. This role changes that. You will be the single accountable answer on specialist-driven performance for Frontline Operations: what moved, which specialists, queues, vendors or sites it came from, and what we should do about it. Success looks like root causes and recommendations delivered in hours rather than days, and a growing share of performance issues you surfaced resolved before they hit a top-line metric. A Typical Day:  Break down frontline performance by specialist, queue, vendor and site — analysing operational data to get to the level of detail the question actually needs. Root-cause specialist-driven moves in SLA, AHT, accuracy and utilisation, and deliver one accountable answer rather than a set of possibilities. For example: tracing an ATOQ SLA drop to a specific staffing change on a specific site, with the size of the effect quantified. Monitor specialist-level metrics for problems that never show up in the top-line numbers, and take a recommendation — not just a finding — to Frontline Delivery leadership. Write the requirements for specialist metrics and dashboards, and refine them with Tools Support, so the reporting frontline managers use every day answers their real questions. Work the boundaries deliberately: hand causes that aren't specialist-driven to Business Intelligence, take Capacity Planning's approved volume forecasts as an input, and use Quality Analytics' case audits as evidence. Sit in weekly business reviews and operational escalations, explaining what the data means to people who need to make a decision in the next ten minutes. Use AI tooling as a first resort rather than a last one, including our internal AI data analytics tools, to get to an answer in minutes instead of hours. Your Expertise: 8+ years in operations analytics, workforce analytics, business intelligence or a comparable analytical role, in an environment where operational decisions were made on your numbers. You write your own SQL to a high standard — complex joins, window functions, and the judgement to know when a result is wrong. You will not be building dashboards; you'll be specifying them. Deep contact-centre or high-volume operations knowledge: you understand SLA, AHT, occupancy, shrinkage, adherence and how a staffing decision on one site shows up in a queue metric two weeks later. Proven root-cause work in a multi-vendor, multi-site delivery model, where the answer sits somewhere between staffing, skilling, tooling and process — and you're able to say which. You give one clear answer and stand behind it. You're comfortable saying what the data cannot tell us, and equally comfortable explaining to a senior leader that their assumption is wrong. Clear, direct communicator — you can take a complex analysis and give a frontline manager the one sentence they need to act on. Experience in Trust, Fraud, Safety or another high-stakes operations environment is a plus, not a requirement — the instincts for urgency and precision matter more. Our Commitment To Inclusion & Belonging: Airbnb is committed to working with the broadest talent pool possible. We believe diverse ideas foster innovation and engagement, and allow us to attract creatively-led people, and to develop the best products, services and solutions. Our recruiters will never ask for your Social Security number, bank account details, passport, or payment app information while you are interviewing.  We'll also never ask you to pay a fee, send money, deposit or cash a check, or purchase work-related equipment (such as a company laptop) during the interview process. We encourage candidates to remain vigilant of these recruiting scams and not share sensitive information if you do not believe an individual is actually affiliated with Airbnb.

Who we are About Stripe Stripe is a technology company focused on improving the conditions for economic growth and prosperity. We build programmable financial infrastructure, rethinking from first principles how financial services should work, to make it easier and cheaper for any business to start and scale. More than 10 million businesses build on Stripe, spanning the economic frontier—from solo founders to established enterprises—united by a practical focus on growth. The most ambitious companies in the world use Stripe as core infrastructure to grow faster. They process trillions of dollars a year on Stripe, equivalent to around 1.6% of global GDP. While economic growth makes everyone better off, open markets also enable greater variety. When any business can easily serve a global customer base, the quality and diversity of products in the world increase, and craft and creativity are unleashed into the smallest niches. Our own growth is wholly contingent on the success of the businesses building on Stripe. We therefore invest back into our technology at an unusual rate. We make upgrades to our products every single day to deliver compounding gains to our customers. We maintain some of the most reliable APIs on the internet. We build entirely new pieces of financial infrastructure to enable new ideas. And our significant advances in risk and fraud infrastructure over many years are making the internet economy safer and more accessible.  Though people at Stripe don't tend to take themselves seriously, Stripe is a fairly serious place: our customers are depending on us for their livelihoods. We admire ambition, intensity, curiosity, humility, and rigor. The most effective people become knowledgeable about many domains besides their own. Any company is an applied exercise in understanding some aspect of society or the market. In working with so many (especially the new and innovative ones), we think that Stripe is one of the very best places to learn about how the world works. Your role Stripe is large enough that individual products and projects can be rapidly deployed to a meaningful fraction of the world's businesses, but small enough that individual agency still has outsized impact. Small teams can impact how millions of businesses grow. Right now the global economy is replatforming around AI, creating new opportunities for growth. We're at the center of this, and we think the best work is still in front of us. To meet this moment, we're looking for people who move with urgency, like hard problems, and want their work to matter at a time of great change. If that's you, there's no better place to build your career. Who you are Ambitious builder: You're energized by building solutions without clear precedent and solving problems with far-reaching consequences. Successful Stripes are deeply curious, and prefer the joy of discovery to the comfort of certainty. Rigorous thinker: You appreciate that things worth doing are rarely simple. You enjoy working on problems that have never been tackled before.  Adaptable problem solver: You adapt quickly and treat obstacles as opportunities.  At Stripe we embrace kindness while encouraging Stripes to take measured risks and act boldly, even in the absence of consensus. Minimum requirements A Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science or a directly related field, obtained by summer 2027, or equivalent work experience; New grad candidates should have no more than 18 months of professional experience (excluding internship experience). Experience and familiarity with programming, either through side projects or classwork. We believe new programming languages can be learned if the fundamentals and general knowledge are present. Experience from either previous internships or working collaboratively on multi-person coding projects (in a university or professional setting). Ability to learn unfamiliar systems and form an understanding of those systems, through independent research and working with a mentor or subject matter experts. Clear written communication skills, with the ability to explain your work to stakeholders, team members, and other Stripes. Ability to leverage AI tools to accelerate development while applying rigorous critical thinking and professional judgement to review, refine, and validate all outputs. Preferred qualifications One or more areas of specialized knowledge (frontend, backend, infrastructure or other technologies) balanced with general skills and knowledge.  Experience in code review practices, and an understanding of how to safely update production systems. Familiarity with navigating and managing work in large code bases. Experience leading small projects independently, and contributing to larger projects alongside peers. Ability to operate with high agency in navigating complex technical obstacles independently, knowing precisely when to unblock oneself and when to ask for help.
