Location: Remote within Europe, with regular presence in Bremen Direct Reports: None Working Model: Remote / hybrid. Regular time on-site in Bremen. Mission Own build, deployment and infrastructure for scientific software that runs in awkward places — customer premises, restricted laboratory networks, air-gapped sites, and our own cloud. The role combines conventional cloud platform engineering with the harder problem of shipping updatable software into environments we do not control. Responsibilities Pillar 1 Deployment and Delivery Own build, CI/CD and release for the platform across cloud and on-premise targets. Build and maintain installers and update paths that work in restricted and offline environments. Manage database migration and rollback paths for customer installations. Success Metrics and KPIs: release frequency, failed deployments, time to patch a customer site. Pillar 2 Infrastructure Run the Kubernetes and GitOps side of the platform. Own secrets management, access control and infrastructure-as-code. Implement monitoring and log aggregation across internal and customer environments. Integrate with Constructor's platform, identity and deployment tooling. Success Metrics and KPIs: uptime, mean time to detect, infrastructure reproducible from code. Pillar 3 Security and Governance Introduce static analysis and dependency and licence scanning into the pipeline. Own backup, recovery and continuity for the platform. Support audit and compliance requirements from funded research and customer contracts. Accountability: no single undocumented dependency on one person, including yourself. Requirements Experience Strong AWS or equivalent, Kubernetes, and configuration management such as Ansible, at production scale. Real experience of on-premise and offline deployment, not only cloud. CI/CD pipeline ownership end to end Skills & Competencies Autonomous and proactive. You have carried infrastructure alone. Willing to hand knowledge over rather than hold it. Interested in the product and the science, not only the pipeline. Clear communicator in English. Education & Languages Degree in computer science or engineering, or equivalent practical track record. Fluent English. What This Role Is (and Is Not) This role IS Full ownership of infrastructure for a technically unusual product. A role where you finally get a team around you. Exposure to a broad modern stack. This role is NOT A pure cloud or pure on-premise role. A ticket-driven operations role. A role without contact with the product. Find Jobs in Germany on Arbeitnow

About the Position: We are looking for an experienced, motivated mid-level professional for a dual role: classic IT DevOps responsibilities combined with the evaluation and support of AI/ML models and vendors. This position is a great fit for someone who wants to combine technical infrastructure expertise with an interest in current AI/ML developments. The role sits in internal IT and is not part of robotics product development. The two areas are not equally plannable: production operations take precedence, and AI/ML evaluation runs as project work around operational load. Responsibilities : CI/CD, Automation & Software Development: Build, maintain, and improve CI/CD pipelines using GitLab CI and Jenkins; automate recurring operational processes; collaborate with development teams on deployment processes; develop small-scale internal software for IT and other internal departments; support software integrations, particularly Entra ID, Active Directory, and SSO. Cloud, Infrastructure & Operations: Manage and optimize AWS, Azure, and GCP infrastructure; use Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible), Docker and Kubernetes on select projects (not a global standard); operate the largely Linux-based landscape (approx. 80–85% Ubuntu), including patch/update management; ensure availability, scalability, security, monitoring, logging and alerting (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK); manage backup/disaster recovery and cloud cost optimization. Production Support & AI/ML Evaluation: Manage incidents and troubleshoot production environments (no on-call rota currently planned; if introduced, it will be agreed and compensated separately); evaluate AI/ML models and vendors (e.g. OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, Microsoft Azure AI) for performance, cost, suitability, cost-benefit, and licensing; evaluate open-weight/self-hosted models (e.g. vLLM, Ollama) where data residency, data protection, or cost requirements make external APIs unsuitable. AI/ML Testing, Integration & Support: Define objective AI/ML test criteria and benchmarks with the team lead; build and maintain evaluation datasets and re-run them after new model versions to detect regressions; support integration into existing systems/workflows, including RAG and agent tooling; act as first point of contact for technical AI/ML issues, providing first-level support and escalating to the team lead. AI Governance, Compliance & Enablement: Document model best practices, limitations, and use cases; track market developments; collaborate with business departments to identify new use cases; support compliance on data protection, security, and AI regulations, particularly the EU AI Act and GDPR (internal deployer-side use, not product conformity); train and enable internal staff on AI/ML tools, contributing to AI literacy under Art. 4 of the EU AI Act and internal AI governance/use guidelines Your Profile: Completed degree in Computer Science, IT, or comparable professional experience 2 to 4 years of experience in a DevOps environment Hands-on experience with CI/CD tooling; both GitLab CI and Jenkins are in use Experience with at least one major public cloud (AWS, Azure, or GCP); all three are in use Solid experience operating Linux systems (Ubuntu), as the large majority of systems run on it Experience with containerization (Docker); Kubernetes knowledge is a plus, as it is used on a per-project basis Solid working knowledge of the core DevOps toolchain: Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible), scripting (Python, Bash), and monitoring, logging, and alerting (e.g. Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack) Basic knowledge or hands-on experience working with AI/ML models or APIs (e.g., LLM providers) An analytical mindset for objectively evaluating tools and vendors Strong communication skills for collaborating with technical and non-technical teams Fluent in English, spoken and written What we offer A dynamic high-tech company, combined with financial soundness and world-class investors. Join an interdisciplinary, international team with 60+ different nationalities in a collaborative work environment. Lots of development opportunities as we continue to grow. We make it easier to get answers, access high-quality care quickly, and feel supported throughout treatment and beyond. Today, Thyme Care is a market-leading value-based oncology care enabler, partnering with national and regional health plans, providers, and employers to deliver better outcomes and lower costs for thousands of people across the country. Our model combines high-touch human support with powerful technology and AI to bring together everyone involved in a person's cancer journey: caregivers, oncologists, health plans, and employers. As a tech-native organization, we believe technology should strengthen the human connection at the center of care. Through data science, automation, and AI, we simplify complexity, improve collaboration, and help our care team focus on what matters most: supporting people through cancer. Looking ahead, our vision is bold: to become a household name in cancer care, where every person diagnosed asks for Thyme Care by name. If you're inspired to make cancer care more human and to help reimagine what's possible, we'd love to meet you. Together, we can build a future where every person with cancer feels truly cared for, in every moment that matters. WHAT YOU'LL DO We're hiring a Principal Product Manager to set the product direction for new, zero-to-one initiatives focused on applying AI to make better care decisions in oncology — helping people receive the right, evidence-based treatment at the moment it matters. Working closely with senior clinical, operations, engineering, and business leaders, you will shape the strategy, identify the highest-value opportunities, and lead the most complex and consequential product work needed to build a solution with the potential to become a category-defining platform. This is a hands-on, zero-to-one role for a product leader who can operate at both the strategic and implementation levels — moving fluidly between learning from users, defining product direction, partnering with engineering and other stakeholders to shape solutions , and driving execution to launch. You will establish the product foundation across workflow tooling, data integrations, and AI systems, while creating patterns that can scale across future products and initiatives. Much of this work sits at the intersection of applied AI, clinical guidelines, and operational workflows in a regulated setting where fidelity, auditability, and trust are non-negotiable. This is an individual contributor role today, with the opportunity to build and lead a product team over time as this business line grows. Additionally, you will: Drive the roadmap for a zero-to-one AI initiative to improve care decisions in oncology Prototype, test, and ship AI powered products with engineering and other teams cross functionally Build the workflow tooling and decision support surfaces clinicians and care teams need to act on AI recommendations Own the evaluations, guardrails, and observability standards to ensure recommendations are accurate, safe, and trusted across, auditable, and defensible to clinical, provider, and health-plan stakeholders Partner with engineering to shape the technical architecture around AI systems, data models, and integrations Communicate tradeoffs and profess clearly to senior clinical, engineering, and business stakeholders Leverage AI to accelerate your own work and help decide how the team uses AI tooling to move faster and prototype more efficiently WHAT YOU'VE DONE 6+ years of product management experience, including leading zero-to-one or early-stage initiatives when the problem, requirements, and path forward were not fully defined You have healthcare experience, ideally building workflow, data, or integration products for enterprise contexts You're comfortable with ambiguity and defining a path forward for yourself and others You have hands-on experience building or shipping AI/LLM-powered products You communicate clearly and build alignment across engineering, clinical, and business stakeholders You like to operate close to the technical details, such as data models, edge cases, evaluations, and impacts of implementation Nice to haves: Experience in oncology, serious illness / palliative care, or chronic condition management Hands-on experience shipping AI/LLM-powered product features, including safety guardrails, evaluation, and quality measurement OUR VALUES At Thyme Care, our core values guide us in everything we do: Act with our members in mind, Move with purpose, and Seek diverse perspectives. They anchor our business decisions, including how we grow, the products we make, and the paths we choose—or don't choose. Our salary ranges are based on paying competitively for our size and industry, and are one part of the total compensation package that also includes equity, benefits, and other opportunities at Thyme Care. Individual pay decisions are based on several factors, including qualifications, experience level, skillset, and balancing internal equity relative to other Thyme Care employees. The base salary for this role is $195,500-$230,000. The salary range could be lower or higher than this if the role is hired at another level. This position is also bonus-eligible. We recognize a history of inequality in healthcare. We're here to challenge the status quo and create a culture of inclusion through the care we give and the company we build. We embrace and celebrate a diversity of perspectives in reflection of our members and the members we serve. We are an equal-opportunity employer. Be cautious of recruitment fraud , and always confirm that communications are coming from an official Thyme Care email.
