The team turns important questions into clear decisions, coordinated execution and measurable business outcomes. The role This is a manager-level individual-contributor role for a hands-on operator. You will own defined, high-priority, cross-functional initiatives end to end—from framing problems and aligning stakeholders to implementing solutions and delivering measurable outcomes. Working closely with the Head of the CEO Office, you will combine structured problem-solving with hands-on execution. You will translate priorities into coordinated action, strengthen how teams operate and drive initiatives through to impact. How You'll Make an Impact (Role overview) Support the CEO and Head of the CEO Office on critical cross-functional initiatives by helping coordinate day-to-day delivery, stakeholder collaboration and progress towards measurable outcomes. Help investigate complex, ambiguous problems by clarifying the problem, developing practical solutions and supporting the implementation of durable processes or systems. Support departments in scaling by contributing to organisation design, objectives and KPI setting, and the development of robust operating processes. Assist leadership in navigating ambiguity by surfacing insights, decisions and risks, coordinating follow-through and supporting alignment across teams, particularly where there is no natural owner. Projects may include organisational model design, international expansion strategy, scaling new business lines, strategic planning and goal setting, go-to-market execution, regulatory, data and financial infrastructure initiatives, and supporting board and shareholder reporting. What We're Looking For (Background and core competencies) Relevant background and impact: Experience in a fast-paced, high-performance environment.Relevant backgrounds include consulting, high-growth technology, investing, investment banking, strategic finance or entrepreneurial operations. Payments or fintech exposure and international experience are advantages. Problem-solving and analytical rigour: Use first-principles thinking, data and judgement to structure ambiguous problems, identify key measures and move between strategic questions and operational detail. Advanced SQL or hands-on data analysis is a plus. Building and execution: Turn analysis into practical plans, KPIs, processes, tools or systems that create durable value. Experience building low-code/no-code or AI automations that others continue to use is a plus. Ownership and impact: Personally own cross-functional work and deliver measurable outcomes. Influence and collaboration: Build trust, navigate trade-offs and make progress across functions without formal authority, with a low-ego and collaborative approach. Learning agility and entrepreneurial mindset: Learn quickly, respond well to feedback, adapt to changing priorities and show evidence of creating, launching or materially improving something from scratch. Founding or entrepreneurial experience is valued but not required. Additional Information Bring all of you to work We create the conditions for high performers to thrive, through real ownership, fewer blockers, and work that makes a difference from day one. Here, you'll move fast, take on meaningful challenges, and be recognized for the impact you deliver. It's a place where ambition gets met with opportunity, and where your growth is in your hands. We work as one team, and we back each other to succeed. So whatever your background or identity, if you're ready to grow and make a difference, you'll be right at home here. It's important we set you up for success and make our process as accessible as possible. So let us know in your application, or tell your recruiter directly, if you need anything to make your experience or working environment more comfortable. Company Description We're Checkout.com . You might not know our name, but companies like eBay, Spotify, Klarna, Uber, and Sony do, because we're behind many of the digital experiences you use every day. We are where the world checks out, enabling over 10 billion transactions yearly for more than one billion global shoppers. Whether you want to book a holiday, order food, renew a subscription, or check out online, there's a good chance our tech powers the payments behind the scenes. Our platform helps the most ambitious businesses deliver effortless digital experiences, at scale. If you want to do career-defining work, you've come to the right place. We move fast, think globally, and believe great teams are built by hiring exceptional people with conviction, curiosity, and the desire to make an impact. With 20 offices across six continents and London as our HQ, we're shaping the future of fintech – and we're just getting started. Role overview Complex merchants can create complex financial crime risks. Their corporate structures, operating models and control environments may span entities, jurisdictions and teams. When concerns emerge, effective action depends on more than identifying the issue: someone must bring the right people together, agree a credible response, and keep remediation moving until it is complete. As Financial Crime Oversight & Remediation Manager, you will provide that ownership. You will coordinate targeted oversight of higher-risk or strategically important merchant relationships, helping turn concerns into clear, proportionate and evidenced plans. You will work across Compliance, Financial Crime Investigations, onboarding, commercial and operational teams, and, where appropriate, directly with merchants. Your judgement will matter: you will need to know when a proposed control or remediation is credible, when evidence is insufficient, and when an issue needs escalation. This is a hands-on role for someone who combines financial crime compliance expertise with strong delivery discipline. You will help address issues early, support defensible decisions, and give complex remediation the structure and follow-through it needs. What you'll do Own targeted remediation coordination. For complex merchant concerns, bring together the relevant internal teams, clarify the problem and desired outcomes, agree accountable owners and milestones, and maintain a practical plan through to closure. Track dependencies and slippage, challenge gaps, escalate material blockers and confirm that completion is supported by evidence. Coordinate Compliance-imposed conditions. Track material financial-crime conditions attached to product, market or other approval decisions. Work with the relevant Compliance and business owners to confirm accountability, milestones and evidence of completion; identify slippage or gaps; challenge whether evidence demonstrates the condition has been met; and escalate overdue or inadequately evidenced actions through the agreed governance route. The relevant delivery owner remains accountable for implementing the condition. Coordinate enhanced oversight of merchants. Support a structured watch-list approach for merchants whose risk or control environment warrants closer attention than routine, risk-tiered monitoring, but where immediate termination or a formal investigation is not necessarily the right response. Help define the oversight plan, review progress and ensure concerns do not remain unresolved or without an owner. Assess remediation quality. Review proposed actions and evidence against the underlying financial crime concern and relevant regulatory expectations. Identify whether controls appear appropriately designed and operating, whether further evidence or testing is needed, and whether residual concerns require escalation or a change in the relationship's risk treatment. Engage merchants constructively. Where appropriate, work with account teams to agree clear requests, expectations and timelines with merchants. Maintain a firm, evidence-led approach while supporting a proportionate path to address weaknesses and establish whether the relationship can be sustained safely. Lead enhanced control reviews. Design and, where appropriate, lead deeper reviews of a merchant's AML controls during onboarding or ongoing oversight. This may include preparing agendas, conducting structured discussions with merchant stakeholders, probing key control areas, documenting findings and agreeing any required remediation. Support reliance and outsourcing assessments. Contribute to the initial scrutiny of outsourced activities or other arrangements that depend on another party's controls. Help establish whether reliance is justified, what evidence supports that view, and what conditions or remediation are required. Improve the oversight approach. Capture recurring issues, lessons and delivery gaps, and help refine processes, reporting and escalation so that complex concerns receive consistent, timely and well-evidenced attention. What you'll bring Experience in financial crime compliance, AML, or a closely related risk and control role, with a sound understanding of AML control frameworks and how to assess their design and effectiveness. Experience coordinating complex remediation, regulatory or audit actions, control reviews, investigations follow-through, or comparable cross-functional change. You can turn an ambiguous issue into a sequenced plan with clear owners, milestones and evidence of completion. The confidence and judgement to challenge senior stakeholders and merchants constructively, distinguish a credible response from a paper commitment, and escalate when progress or evidence is inadequate. Strong written and verbal communication, including the ability to lead structured discussions, document findings clearly and translate complex issues into practical actions. Excellent organisation and follow-through across multiple workstreams, with a pragmatic approach to prioritisation, dependencies and changing circumstances. A collaborative style and the resilience to work through sensitive, commercially significant issues without losing sight of the control outcome. Experience with structured project management methods, such as Lean Six Sigma or PRINCE2, to drive organised execution across complex workstreams is a strong plus. Experience with complex merchants, payments, cryptoassets, money service businesses, correspondent or outsourced service models would be valuable. Relevant professional qualifications are welcome but are not a substitute for sound judgement and demonstrated delivery. Why this role You will work at the point where financial crime risk, merchant relationships and practical execution meet. The role offers meaningful ownership of issues that cut across teams and can shape whether concerns are resolved early, managed with appropriate safeguards, or escalated on a sound evidential basis. Success is visible in the quality of the decisions and the fact that agreed actions are actually completed. Public Sector Sales Lead

Full TimeOn-siteLead

About Anthropic Anthropic's mission is to create reliable, interpretable, and steerable AI systems. We want AI to be safe and beneficial for our users and for society as a whole. Our team is a quickly growing group of committed researchers, engineers, policy experts, and business leaders working together to build beneficial AI systems. About the role As Anthropic's Public Sector Sales Lead for France, you will be the face of Anthropic to the French State. This is a founding, zero-to-one role: there is no public sector team in France today, and you will build our strategy, our routes to market and our first strategic relationships from the ground up. Reporting to our EMEA South leadership, you will lead the adoption of safe, frontier AI across central government, starting with the largest ministries. You will work hand in hand with our Public Policy lead in Paris, because in few companies is policy as central to the mission as it is at Anthropic, and with Partnerships, Legal, Security and Product to put in place the commercial and compliance frameworks the State needs in order to work with us at scale. This is a senior individual contributor role. We expect you to have run a public sector business and led teams, and to be energised by stepping back into a hands-on seat where you build it yourself and where the size of your team says nothing about the size of your scope. In the first year, success is measured less by a large number and more by putting Anthropic on the map with the French State: a clear strategy, the right foundations and our first strategic agreements. Responsibilities Define and own Anthropic's public sector go-to-market strategy for France: where we play first, how we win, and what we need to build to get there Be the senior face of Anthropic to the French State, building trusted relationships with ministerial cabinets, senior officials and digital and technology leaders across the largest ministries, including defence, finance and justice Own the full sales cycle on our first strategic public sector opportunities, from first engagement through procurement route, close, deployment and expansion Work with Partnerships, Legal and Finance to put in place the routes to market the State needs, including resale and partner channels, framework agreements and central purchasing bodies such as UGAP Partner day to day with our Public Policy lead in France so that commercial and policy engagement reinforce each other, and stay aligned with French and European AI strategy and regulation Lead the conversation with customers on data sovereignty, security and compliance (for example SecNumCloud and the State's cloud doctrine), and work with Security, Legal and Product on how we meet those requirements Prove value with customers alongside a shared Applied AI architect, cloud providers and systems integrators, doing much of the groundwork yourself in the early stages Learn from and contribute to our UK and US public sector teams, bringing what works to France and sharing what you learn Create the playbooks, references and operating rhythm that will let us scale a public sector team in France over time You may be a good fit if you have 15+ years in enterprise technology sales, including significant time running a public sector business unit or leading sales teams that sell to French central government The appetite to move from a leadership role into a hands-on senior individual contributor role with no team at the outset Evidence that you thrive building from zero: a new market, a new business line or an early-stage company, where systems, processes and support were not yet in place A track record of landing large, complex and genuinely transformative agreements with major ministries, as the person leading the deal A deep, senior network across central government, and the credibility to engage at director and cabinet level as well as with technical teams Practical command of French public procurement, including tenders, framework agreements, central purchasing bodies and partner or resale routes Real expertise in data sovereignty, security and compliance requirements in the French State, and experience leading those conversations with customers Experience of, or a clear aptitude for, working closely with public policy or government affairs colleagues Ownership and resilience: you treat what is missing as something to build, and you bring colleagues with you to build it The technical curiosity to learn our products in depth and hold credible conversations with both engineering leaders and senior officials Fluent French and English, with excellent written and spoken communication in both Willingness to go through French security clearance (habilitation) should specific accounts require it A genuine commitment to safe and beneficial AI, and the ability to articulate why it matters for public institutions À propos du poste En tant que Responsable des ventes secteur public d'Anthropic pour la France, vous incarnerez Anthropic auprès de l'État français. A field relevant to the role as demonstrated through coursework, training, or professional experience Minimum years of experience: Years of experience required will correlate with the internal job level requirements for the position Location-based hybrid policy: Currently, we expect all staff to be in one of our offices at least 25% of the time. However, some roles may require more time in our offices. Visa sponsorship: We do sponsor visas! However, we aren't able to successfully sponsor visas for every role and every candidate. But if we make you an offer, we will make every reasonable effort to get you a visa, and we retain an immigration lawyer to help with this. We encourage you to apply even if you do not believe you meet every single qualification. Not all strong candidates will meet every single qualification as listed. Research shows that people who identify as being from underrepresented groups are more prone to experiencing imposter syndrome and doubting the strength of their candidacy, so we urge you not to exclude yourself prematurely and to submit an application if you're interested in this work. We think AI systems like the ones we're building have enormous social and ethical implications. We think this makes representation even more important, and we strive to include a range of diverse perspectives on our team. Your safety matters to us. To protect yourself from potential scams, remember that Anthropic recruiters only contact you ----- addresses. In some cases, we may partner with vetted recruiting agencies who will identify themselves as working on behalf of Anthropic. Be cautious of emails from other domains. Legitimate Anthropic recruiters will never ask for money, fees, or banking information before your first day. If you're ever unsure about a communication, don't click any links—visit anthropic.com/careers directly for confirmed position openings. How we're different We believe that the highest-impact AI research will be big science. At Anthropic we work as a single cohesive team on just a few large-scale research efforts. And we value impact — advancing our long-term goals of steerable, trustworthy AI — rather than work on smaller and more specific puzzles. We view AI research as an empirical science, which has as much in common with physics and biology as with traditional efforts in computer science. We're an extremely collaborative group, and we host frequent research discussions to ensure that we are pursuing the highest-impact work at any given time. As such, we greatly value communication skills. The easiest way to understand our research directions is to read our recent research. This research continues many of the directions our team worked on prior to Anthropic, including: GPT-3, Circuit-Based Interpretability, Multimodal Neurons, Scaling Laws, AI & Compute, Concrete Problems in AI Safety, and Learning from Human Preferences. Come work with us! Anthropic is a public benefit corporation headquartered in San Francisco. We offer competitive compensation and benefits, optional equity donation matching, generous vacation and parental leave, flexible working hours, and a lovely office space in which to collaborate with colleagues.
